Carrie Eps. 2-4 and Carrie 1.0 is Apparently Awful (and VisionQuest is Slow AF)

Even though everybody and their mother has finished reviewing all eight episodes of Carrie, we are on some serious CPT getting to it. But as usual, our takes are worth the wait. We discuss some comparisons to the original Brian de Palma classic (which apparently is horrible and crazy AF). Oh, and we kinda talk a little bit about VisionQuest.

[00:00:00] and Michael Moore would also We're talking about Nathan. Yeah, but we're not saying too much because JD hasn't seen it. Well, that's too bad because that nigga ain't even watched The Wire yet. I have watched The Wire. All seven seasons? No. I haven't finished The Wire yet either. I'm stuck in season two. Because you're fucking around watching Lost. I don't know what to say. You got time to burn. You're still re-watching Lost and fucking Ally McGill and still ain't watched The Wire. What the fuck?

[00:00:29] Can you confirm for me that crab in a barrel is a popular topic in black culture? Can you confirm that for me? Does anybody have a raven? My kings are for a raven. This is Ron Dawson. I got three guys with me. All right. Let's go. Hey there, you girls, boys, and I'm Binaries. We're here to talk about Carrie. And maybe if there's time, and if anyone has watched it, we'll throw in a little bit of VisionQuest.

[00:00:58] I've been watching. I tried watching. Me and Javon have been watching. I tried watching the first episode. I swear. I think I got about eight minutes in. I thought I had watched an hour. I was like, I looked at the time. I paused it. And I was like, wait a minute. I've only watched eight minutes of this shit? I said, I can't. I can't. There's no way. We've got to power through the first couple episodes. There's no way I could last.

[00:01:28] It picks up. Have you guys watched Resident Evil yet? The new one? Yeah. Yeah. No. I watched it. I watched it. It was good. I have kids, man. We kids are sucked up. It's a fun watch. I can take those kinds of horror films. Like the thrill ride? Yeah. It was not a thrill ride. I guess it was. It was a thrill ride. It was fun. It was funny. I think Javon prefers the first iterations of them. I very much do.

[00:01:58] I heard they were horrible. Because they were closer to the game. I'm sure you do hear they were horrible. Some were. I mean, they look cheap. And I heard that they don't really follow the game that closely. They didn't play the game. Somewhat. I mean, I think Jovovich's character. But I heard the movie makes you feel like you're in a game, even though it doesn't follow the story of the game. Wait, no, no. Are you talking about the original? Are you talking about the original or this current one? I'm talking about the one that just came out. I was talking about the original ones that came out years ago.

[00:02:27] But they don't follow the game that closely. Yeah. I thought they did. Or no? No, they don't. But I think they give you a better picture of the world than this one. Right. But I feel like this one feels more like a traditional game. A video. Yeah. In terms of how he films it and some of the Easter eggs that they leave. You could be the main character in this. And like in a first-person shooter running through it. Right. I don't know.

[00:02:54] Anyway, the thing that made me think about it, there was a scene that kind of reminded me of what Adu was complaining about. Were you feeling like something has gone on longer? Oh, in that movie? In Resident Evil? In Resident Evil. You haven't seen it, right? I have not. Yeah. This isn't like a spoiler. Yeah, I haven't seen it either. There's a scene where one of the characters is doing something. And you think...

[00:03:21] Or the character thinks something's been longer than it actually has. And it plays funny. Okay. Yeah. Hmm. But I hear you, dude. I... The first season... Season quest? Especially that first episode is... Oh my God. That first episode. Well... I got as far as the inner monologue. I was about to say, you got to the introduction of the... The Hermann's Head. The Hermann's Head. The Hermann's Head. And I got as far as... I can't remember. It was...

[00:03:52] It was one of the women characters in his head. She says something. It was like some joke or something. I can't remember. Or like she said... It was something about him having humor. Whatever that part was. Yeah. And I felt like I had watched like at least 30 minutes. So I was like, let me pause here. Eight minutes in. And I was like, fuck this. No. There is no possible way I could watch eight episodes of this shit.

[00:04:22] Because I mean... I remember the stuff JD was talking about. I'm like, okay. Let me just try to get to that. Right. Like we're not there yet. What the fuck? I don't even care about these inner characters. I don't think the good stuff kicks in until like episode two. Oh my God. Yeah. There's no way. Halfway through episode two even. There ain't no way. It actually gets... For me it's gotten better. It's not... But the thing that scares me. Because like what you're saying to do. Like how it was slow in the first episode. When the critic reviews came out.

[00:04:52] When they got the... They were able to watch the whole show. Right. They were saying it slows down in the middle. I'm like, slows down in the middle. Oh my God. So I'm worried. I got to episode three. But I'm worried like four, five, and six are going to be like slow. I started episode three. I was falling asleep. I'll have to try it. It was late though. Yeah. I mean that... I mean that's not a high bar for... I mean... Ron's narcoleptic zone. That's a good segue.

[00:05:22] That's a good segue to carry. Because... Yes. It slows down after episode one. Really? You thought so? I thought... I thought... Okay. I've enjoyed everything up to episode four. Put it this way. I've watched a little more than four. And I'm just saying... I feel like we saw some stuff in two and three. Mm-hmm. And I feel like four didn't deliver on it. Mm-hmm. And I'll stop there. Because I don't want to say too much about the last few. Huh.

[00:05:52] Interesting. Interesting. Ron, we should start. Don't you think? We should start. Let's kick this off. I thought we started. We could have already started. JD kind of had something. He was already teed up. So I think... Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Did I do my intro? I don't even remember if I did. You did. Oh, you did? Okay. All right. But you can do it again if you weren't. My bad. My bad. I'm tired too, man. I've been burning the midnight oil. Right. Right. Well, I will start by saying this. I have not read the Carrie book.

[00:06:22] Mm-hmm. But I went back this past weekend and watched the original film from 76. Yeah. And oh my God, it's horrible. It's one of the worst. It cannot be made today. I guarantee you it cannot be made today. Well, no. The opening credits. Not with that shower scene. Dude, that was the most... I felt uncomfortable watching that. It was like... They were getting away with murder. I've never seen the original, believe it or not. So imagine this.

[00:06:48] So you know how Carrie had, in the end of the first episode, we have, of this modern show. Yes. The current show, it's out right now. Carrie's in her clothes, but she gets her period. And she doesn't know what's going on. Oh, really? And they're all throwing... Well, in the opening of Kerry, in the old movie, they show all... There's all these nude girls in the gym locker room. And they're playing grab ass and taking each other. And doing all just tomfoolery. And they're all naked, running around, just bush and titties everywhere.

[00:07:17] And then Kerry's in the shower by herself. And she's luxuriating in the shower. Like, she hasn't had a shower in three years. And it's like orgasmic. She's like feeling all over herself. And then there's... And I'm like, Brian De Palma, what are you doing? Right. And then she drops her soap. She drops the soap in the shower. And first of all, it's all steamy or whatever. And she drops her soap in the shower. And that's when she looks down and notices that there's blood coming off her body. So then she looks and finds out.

[00:07:45] She realizes she's bleeding from her nether region. They're having a period. So then, later on in the film, it's clear that Kerry is a smart girl. But all she says in the opening credits, help me. And then she starts walking over to her. I'm like, I'm thinking, is she on the spectrum? Because I haven't seen the film before. So I didn't know if she could talk. I didn't know what was going on. So she's like, and she goes up and starts grabbing people's clothes. Putting blood all up on them.

[00:08:15] I'm like, what the hell is this? This is ridiculous. And then, so that was the opening credits, Ron. The credits are still rolling. The credits are still rolling. I was like, there's no way in hell. The first of all, it's creepy that you're looking. It's a teenage boy's fantasy about a girl's locker room with the steamy showers. The opening credits had the shower? Opening credits, nigga. The credits are still rolling when this stuff is happening. The opening scene. A girl's shower.

[00:08:45] And these are supposed to be high scenes. It's rated R. It's rated R. It's rated R. I know. But here's the other thing. And there was like times where people got slapped. There was a girl, the main mean girl gets slapped in the face by John Travolta, who's her boyfriend. He slapped the shit out of her like two or three times for insignificant things. He's like, bitch, shut up. I told you to shut up. And just slaps her. And then she's at school and she starts confronting the PE teacher, the PE coach.

[00:09:14] And the PE coach slapped the shit out of her. Now, I'm not saying she didn't deserve it. I'm saying I understand. But that shit would never fly today. That shit would never, ever fly today in a film. The PE coach slaps the teacher. You know how like in this, yes. You know how, you know, Chris. Chris is the mean girl. So, and Chris in the old version, she's like, we don't have to listen to you. We don't have to run laps. We don't have to do these things, whatever. And then the coach is walked up and slaps her shit. I mean, a good slap. A real good slap.

[00:09:44] And then all the other girls got scared and they started doing push-ups and shit. Wow. But when I saw it, it was literally, there was a laugh. I mean, the mother was kooky as hell. I mean, like, I love how like there's, at least in this version, is far out as some might think that the mother is. The one in the 76 version is batshit crazy. She's, and they don't explain what, there's no, at least in this, you kind of feel the vibe.

[00:10:14] That one, she looks like a Looney Tune. She's just crazy. Wow. It's bad. It's bad. It was the worst. Yeah. I'm shocked about the shower scene. Dude, I was too. It hit me out of nowhere. I didn't know if this shit started like that. I put it on. I'm like, what are all these titties and push doing? I mean, you don't have no ratings in the 70s. You don't have any ratings. Like, what is it? I know, but it's. Our ratings in the 70s went a lot further.

[00:10:43] Our ratings were like NC-17. Yeah. Basically. Yeah. Yeah. And that to me is not the problem. The problem is that it's supposed to be little girls. It's supposed to be girls in high school. So, like, I'm watching this shit like, am I supposed to be? Right. What the, what is this? Now I got to take a shot. Yeah. I got two teenage daughters. What the fuck are we watching? I was watching with Logan. Logan wasn't in yet. My, my, my youngest. But she came in. I was like, Logan, this is a wild, this is a wild flick.

[00:11:12] I'm not sure you can watch this. Right. Yolanda walks in. She's like, what are you watching? Yeah. What about? Yeah. Oh, nothing, dear. It's just some high school girls in the shower. I told you. I'm doing research for the, I'm doing research for the podcast. I told you, leave me the fuck alone. It's research. Go back to bed. But didn't Midnight Cowboy get an X rating because of some of its. I thought that was the first.

[00:11:44] What? Was that the first movie? I thought that was the first, like, widely released movie to get an X. I thought it was, like, the first X-ray movie to win, like, Best Picture. I thought it was an audit. I mean. I think now it's been re-rated. This is just as gratuitous as that. So, I mean. That's why I'm confused. I mean, to me, it was more silly. It was more, it was just like, when they, when. It should be in the dictionary of misogynistic, silly ass. Right.

[00:12:11] You know, all the complaints and stereotypes about how sexist and, you know, male oriented, you know, misogynistic that movies were in the 70s. That fits it to a T. Hmm. Right, right. Right.

[00:12:32] Well, I mean, I think one of the things about this current version versus that version, it seems like the, I mean, the mother in this one, I wouldn't say she's crazy. She's very. I totally understand where she, I don't agree with none of what she's saying, but I get it. But the other one was cuckoo. She's extreme. Yes. She's extreme.

[00:12:56] I actually do agree with a few of the things, like there are a couple of times where you're actually kind of rooting for the mom. Yeah. And she's like standing up against all of the bullying that's going on. But then she takes that too far. Wait, don't get it. Cause we haven't got to that part yet. Oh, we haven't. It's all part of it. Four stops right when Carrie comes home from being dumped in the trench. When her friends took her to the construction site and she says, mom, I need your help.

[00:13:25] So mommy hasn't started. Oh, sorry. Okay. I get it all. All right. My bad. So yeah. Yeah. I mean, I know that's going to be coming, but the only thing we've seen the mother do so far is go to the school when she promised she wouldn't. And talk to the principal. So up to four, the mom is a pain in the ass. That's for sure. Yeah. Yeah. And you can tell there's some, and you can tell she is psychologically abusive to Carrie minimally. Oh, absolutely. With that whole closet. That whole closet shit.

[00:13:54] Well, but let's not forget the shit she did at work. Yeah. That was foul. Oh my God. Yes. Was that part? Oh man. Was that part of this? In this group where she takes the toilet water? Yeah. The toilet water. Oh man. But then, and then it was like, and then she snitched on her boss and said she was, you know, saying racial issues at work. Right. Right. Trying to plant those seeds. Right. Right. The minorities. Right.

[00:14:24] Yeah. She's a. Because I think it's bullshit. She's great. I don't understand. Who would ever say that about her? Right. She's diabolical. Yeah. That, that really showed some insight into. Mm-hmm. And then, and then I think wasn't also in, and I think episode four, something happened where she made Carrie go into the closet for like two hours. Right. Two hours of prayer.

[00:14:52] Well, that's when she found out she had been sneaking out. Yeah, I think so. I think. They found all the cameras. I didn't see that yet. I don't think that's come out yet. No, the mom knew, but I don't think Carrie knows. Mm. Maybe I'm jumping ahead. Yeah. Well, here's something that I know happened in the first four episodes. So, we're only going to keep it up to episode four.

[00:15:20] I'm sure most people who are either listening to this or watching this, because everybody and their mother has already reviewed the whole season. But we'll stick to episode four. Yeah, that's all right. Why are we still talking? Okay. I'm sure our takes are going to be probably a little bit different than other folks. Oh, I'm sure. I'm sure. But on the off chance that someone hasn't watched past episode four, this thing I'm about to bring up has happened.

[00:15:48] But the ultimate reveal of this hasn't happened. It's terrible. It is terrible. Do you even know what I'm going to talk about? I already know what you're going to talk about. All right. I know you're about to talk about. Don't say it. I haven't seen it yet. You haven't seen it. No, no. You've seen this. What I'm about to say has been revealed. Has been. Emmeline. Emmeline. No. I knew you were talking about Emmeline. Yes. I'm talking Emmeline.

[00:16:16] Because what ultimately happens with that is like. I don't know. I don't know what happens to Emmeline. Yeah, don't touch it. But he's just going to talk about her reveal and stuff. But Ron's theory. Just put it this way. Ron's theory. I wish Ron's theory had done it. Don't say. Hold on. You can't say my theory is right or wrong or not. Yeah, yeah. All right. So. I haven't said it. I just said your theory. Right. So I have a theory about Emmeline. Got it.

[00:16:46] And I remember your theory was that she's a figment of her imagination. No. My theory is that she's like the ghost of a girl who committed suicide. Got you. Because they've dropped clues that Carrie can see dead people. So she sees her dad. Right. She sees her dad. So it seems to me that this. First of all, the way they stage it.

[00:17:12] And I think it's episode three where Emmeline's at the party. And then Chris and the guy who's the John Travolta character. Yeah. Tommy. Tommy, yeah. So Chris and Tommy are looking down on her. No, no. Tommy's the drug dealer. The drug dealer. Tommy is. Oh, Tommy's the good dude. It's Sue's boyfriend. Jack. Is it Jack? Whatever it is. Whoever John Travolta played. I got it right here. Whoever John Travolta played in the original.

[00:17:42] Yeah. Yeah. Anyway, he and Chris are looking down at Carrie. Billy. His name is Billy. Billy. Thanks. Billy and Chris are looking down at Carrie. And we don't. And from that POV, we don't see Emmeline. Now, maybe she's hidden under the veranda. You can't tell. That's what I thought. I thought it was a cool shot, actually. Right. I think they're trying to paint the picture. But it feels like.

[00:18:11] Like the way they shoot her. No one ever interacts with Emmeline. Yep. And they've painted. And they've dropped clues that Carrie can see dead people. Yes. So that's my theory. That my theory is. That Emmeline is ghost of Christmas past. And you've seen. Right. Is it ghost of like a student? Marley. She's Marley. You've seen. You've seen all eight. Right, Ron? I have. Yes. Okay. All right. So, you know. Right.

[00:18:41] But so I'm not going to say. Gotcha. Or indicate. Thank you. Thank you. Yeah. But I was sharing this theory with you guys. Even back when I first just saw it. So what do you think though? It was funny you mentioned it. Because when I was watching it. Yolanda came in and sat down next to me. Uh-huh. And it was a point. A point where I think it was at the party. Where Emmeline was at. Or somewhere. Yeah. And I was like. Oh, you know. We're not sure. She might be a ghost or something. And Yolanda said. Yeah. It looks obvious to me. She's like. You know. Like.

[00:19:12] So she thought right away. She didn't even. You know. She hasn't been even watching the show. Yeah. How they should frame it. Yeah. What are your thoughts? I think you're the only one. Edu. Have you seen all eight yet? Edu. You have. No. I'm up to six. You're up to six. Okay. And Javon. You've seen all eight. Right? I saw all eight. Yeah. Okay. So technically. Edu. Even you don't really know. No. I know. Oh. You just looked it up or something? No. I mean. They reveal it. They don't.

[00:19:42] They reveal it. By. I think by five or six. About a sixth episode? By five or six. They reveal it. They don't reveal it. I want to say. No. I don't even. They've established in five. To me. The way to do. If it turns out she could be real. You'd be pissed off. You'd be like. This bullshit. Well.

[00:20:12] To me. I feel like they've established in five. By the time you get to episode five. That only Carrie. Although we're not covering episode five yet. That only Carrie can see her. I'm just saying. I feel like they've solidified. The possibility that only Carrie can see her. Well. Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe. Maybe not. But when you look back. When they kind of do the sixth sense thing. And you look back. You're like. Oh yeah. I mean. It kind of feels that way.

[00:20:41] Because I mean. When Carrie's walking down the street. And she blows up the houses. And the car alarms. And everything. Here comes. Like. Where did this hoe come from? She just came out of nowhere. Where did you see that. Jamie. It's on. It's. It's. When she's walking home. After falling into the ditch. At the construction site. She walks home. Oh yeah. She's so mad. She's like. She blows up. Smash. And then the. Right. Corner. The intersection. And here come Emily. Wearing the same shit. Right.

[00:21:12] Right. Does she change? Because she's had this on for three days. Clothes must be right at this hill. Yeah. So. Yeah. I think that's pretty much a giveaway. Yeah. That. That she. There's something supernatural with this girl. And then you know. When she's talking to her at the. Which I love. Because it's like. You see. You see. Carrie. Just have these full out conversations. At the library. Yeah. Right. You know. Like when she's in the library.

[00:21:41] And the girl walks by. Weirdo. Because she's talking to. Right. Right. Right. So. So do you think though. That Carrie knows. Is that no one else. Can possibly see her. Up to episode four. I don't think she thinks that. No. Right. I don't. Because she. Because she even told Emmeline. Oh. Don't. Don't. Don't bother her. She. You know. We got to be nice. When. When the girl called her. A weirdo. When. In the library. So. It plays on different. You know.

[00:22:10] The one girl's. Obviously seen her talking to herself. Out in. La La Land. Supposedly. And then Emmeline's there. And Emmeline says something foul. To the girl. She said. No. Just let her go. Don't. Don't cause any problems. We got to try to fit in. So. Well I think that she. Doesn't realize that. That girl can't see Emmeline. Did I bring up the point. Last week. How I thought it was. Interesting. That Gil Bellows. Is on this show. He plays.

[00:22:40] He plays Chris's father. Not. I'm sorry. Not Chris's father. Chris's. Mother's new husband. The stepdaddy to be. The stepdaddy. In a sense. And. Why is that significant? Well because I mentioned. How is re-watching. Ally McBeal. And he plays. Billy. He plays Billy. On Ally McBeal. And there's a Billy. On this show too. So there's a lot of. There's a Billy. And Billy the Kid. As well. I mean. What the fuck. I don't know what you're.

[00:23:10] There's also. A Billy Goats Gruff. There's also. A Billy. And you can see everything. Let's see. Where else is there? It's crazy. There's a Billy Jack. Yeah. You know. There's a Bill Clinton. I mean. What the fuck dude. Is it odd? Is it God. Or is it odd? It's weird. No but I'm saying. The Billy. I noticed that there was someone named John. In this show. Yeah. Oddly enough. He played John. Before in another show. His last name was Smith. Right. What the fuck.

[00:23:39] But a guy who plays Billy. You trying to make connections. Where there are absolutely. Zero. Connections. I mean. It's like. Let's start calling you. Emily. I noticed that this show. Had commercial breaks. Isn't that strange? Isn't that strange? What did you find that strange? Okay. Fair enough. Fair enough. But wait a second. Wait. Is his name Billy in this show? No. Because I'm looking at his thing.

[00:24:08] And it looks like his name is John. Oh no. That's the dad dad. No. I said. I just said. Gil Bellows. Billy. And he plays Billy in Ally McBill. Got you. I'm. Okay. But he's not. It's a stretch. Forget it. It's a stretch. Okay. Yeah. I'm like trying to find. His last name is Bellows. But he doesn't actually blow the Bellows. Wow. What the fuck.

[00:24:37] Matthew Lillard is in this movie. And he plays Shaggy in Scooby Doo. Who does? Matthew Lillard. The principal. That's Shaggy. The principal. The principal. Oh. The principal. I never saw Shaggy. I mean Scooby Doo. Did you see Scream? Scream? Did you see Scream or American Pie? I saw the original Scream. Yeah. Yeah. He was one of the heavies. I'll be right back. Oh. I mean. I haven't seen it in years. So I don't remember.

[00:25:06] But Matthew Lillard is like a known commodity. Well he can't be that known. Hey man. Ron. He's very nice. You tell it on yourself Ron. You tell it on yourself. But you recognize Gil Bellows. Okay. Right. Right. You were dealing with it. But Gil Bellows is a household name. But Gil Bellows jumped out at you. Oh my God. It's Billy from Ally McBill. It's so strange that he was showing up in two productions. Matthew Lillard.

[00:25:32] And this is also Matthew Lillard's year kind of because he was in the Scream. Right. He was in Daredevil and he's in Care. Yeah. He's got a big comeback. I mean Matthew Lillard. Good for him. I'm happy for him. Good for him. Yeah. Way to go. Wow. Way to go Matt. That was at a time when you couldn't really watch films. So you were on. You had your restrictions. You had to go repent in the closet. You had to go repent in the closet. Right. Right.

[00:26:02] You got us into the closet. Two hours, Ron. Two hours. Two hours. Better pray for forgiveness. Oh man. JD is someone who recently saw the original Carrie. How are you? I mean, you say the original Carrie is horrible. Horrible. Like in terms of what? It's very schlocky. It's very of its time.

[00:26:32] Whereas I feel that this, it was great to see it though, because it makes you appreciate what they do in this version so much more. I think that the way they, when we talked about this earlier, like how they use technology, I thought it was great. I thought the way that they set up, the way they're setting up the bad people in this, in this show, it gives, it gives context to what, why they are the way they are. Whereas in the original film, first of all, it's only 90 minutes.

[00:27:02] And so you, you just have the, the stereotypical bad guy or whatever. You don't know why people are doing what they're doing. It's just like, they're just assholes. Just no motivation. Yeah. Yeah. They're just, you know, you know, evil teams, whisker twirling villains that come out of nowhere. Right. The girl, I thought the girls were all like in, for a great example is like the girls in this, all the mean girls and just all the dynamics of the, the high school girl relationships. They all make sense to me. They all read. But in,

[00:27:32] in the other one, it felt like adult women just being catty and stupid and silly. Right. As what they thought that, you know, junior high school girls would be like, even though they're supposed to be in high school, but, but it was obvious that all these girls were older because they were doing the nude scenes or whatever. So they all seem like they're in their, you know, mid twenties and they're trying to recant, recount what it was like to be in high school, but they, they,

[00:27:59] it came off like they're in elementary school or junior. Yeah. It was silly dude. And just every, it's literally every device, every device that they did was just cliched and campy. And I, I try to give it a little grace. I think back to the time, I remember when Carrie came out and it was, it had, it made an impact on culture. You know, this film is crazy. It's like, whatever. But then you, when I went back to watch, I'm like this, this is horrible.

[00:28:29] It's not like going back and watching the Godfather, the Godfather came on 17. You watched that. And it's like, that still holds up today. Yeah. And I came out Brian DeProma. So you think, Oh, this famous director, this is going to be great. And I watched, I'm like, this is horrible. This is bullshit. Right. And I think actually, I think that was John Travolta's first movie. I don't think it was his first movie, but I felt like it was a degree since, because remember Saturday Night Fever was just right around the corner for him, but he did.

[00:28:59] I think it's like boy in the bubble or some shit. He did other stuff. The bubble was the eighties, dude. That was like 80 early. Wasn't. Yeah. There were only some way that we could. There was only some way. Cause I, I think I remember seeing, let me look. I don't think it was his first. I remember watching a trailer for the original and said, and his, and his, uh, introductory debut. Maybe it was. John Travolta. Which is AD. Also,

[00:29:24] let's not just automatically equate Brian DeProma with good films. Right. I'm just saying, I'm just saying his, his name proceeds. That's all I'm saying. Exhibit A. Megalopolis. He didn't do Megalopolis. That was Megalopolis. He didn't do that. That was Francis. That's what I'm saying for a couple. It's not my entire director. Hey, but I do. Your point still stands. Cause he's done some stinkers. I'm just saying. He also did Godfather. I mean, I think he's. Yeah.

[00:29:54] He can dine out on Godfather for the rest of his life. He will. You still going to get called out on the bullshit you put out. Sure. Sure enough. Sure enough. Sure enough. He did something called devil's reign. John Travolta did something called devil's reign. Yeah. His name was Danny. And I was 75. Okay. And then he did carry. So I think. He's starting. Welcome back Carter though, too. So it was like. Yeah. I mean, he was. That's television. I know, but we're just saying. Movie. I'm saying he did a movie before that.

[00:30:24] That's all I'm saying. Okay. All right. That's fair. What was I going to say? Oh, one thing I thought interesting in watching different reviews of the current series, how different, not only this series, but the movies, like all four movies, including the made for television movie differ from the book. Cause it, cause I never read the book. So apparently in the book,

[00:30:52] Carrie is actually heavier set and not a traditional beauty. Whereas in all the television and movie presentations. Yeah. She's thinner. And when made up, even though they try to make her look kind of homey, when made up, she. Well, I thought Sissy Spacek was kind of homey. Yeah. No, I think they tried to make her look homey, but. Yeah. I like what you're saying. Cause he's not as homey as she's not. I mean, and,

[00:31:20] and they surround her by a whole bunch of cute women that are, you know, I wouldn't even say girls. They're like, they're like, again, 20, 30 year old women that she's around. They're all dolled up and makeup and they no makeup on her. She's just plain Jane, but she's not ugly. She's not like, Oh my God, that's a unattractive woman, you know? But it makes me wonder if, if, if the creative choice was made to make Carrie in the television, in the movies,

[00:31:47] someone that was more attractive so that the audience could feel for a more, because I think an audience would tend to have less empathy for someone that they didn't find attractive. As horrible as that is, I think that's the case. That's reality. Yeah. Right. Totally. yeah, I think you're onto something. Yeah. I mean, cause even this girl, she's not, she's not like, Oh my God, it's ugly. You know, like it's just, you know, I mean, I will say this though. She's very homely. Yeah. Which one are you talking about?

[00:32:17] Current. Current. And the old S is he's basic. They were very, yeah. Very homely. You know, I think JD called her, uh, uh, who'd you call her? Little house on the prairie. Yeah. She, she comes in like little house on the prairie. Like Melissa Gilbert. Yeah. Yeah. She could totally portray totally the new little house on the prairie. Yeah. Um, so yeah, I mean, and in that sense, sometimes I do get,

[00:32:45] tired of the character. I'm like, I don't know. There's just something about it. It's just a little, just a little off putting. It's almost like, it would have been a mean girl. Do it a bit. He was a mean girl in high school. I just feel like the way they portray her in this current show, she's not necessarily a, a true victim in the sense that she does some shit behind the scenes. That's like, like, especially, and look,

[00:33:15] she might be warranted. I won't say justified. She might be warranted the way she, you know, interacts with her mom because her mom is very extreme, but she's not necessarily just the victim. I mean, she has a little fight in her, which is good. Yeah. Right. But at times I'm like, and that's how I'm starting to feel about the show in general. It's like, again,

[00:33:44] I've only seen up to four, but I think that I, I, I appreciate that because I think in the first film or the, the 1976 film, they really do portray her as almost on the spectrum or like not, not having her own agency whatsoever, hardly at all. And the, and that, and the kooky mud, there's just these big leaps in storytelling. That, you know, in character arc, whatever.

[00:34:13] But in this, it's like, you come to find out that she really, I don't know. For us, us on the outside looking in, it seems like she's being abused and there's a good argument for that. But in her world, I mean, at least up to episode four, she revered her father. She just thought the religious was the way the world was and how kooky everything is. And by four, at end of episode four,

[00:34:40] she's come back home crying and running to her mom's arms saying, you were right. The world's horrible. They're all mean people. I tried to fit in. They just want. So. And along the way, she kind of stood up for herself. Like, I remember why the mom sent her to the closet when she found the letter of the dad's cremation ashes. And she's sitting at the table. The mom comes home and gets scared. Oh, Oh, you scared me. I was like, she comes into the house. She said, what is this? You know? And they start arguing.

[00:35:08] And then the mom flips it and puts a guilt trip on her. You get in the, get in the closet or two hours, you know, because, because she basically caught her mom in a lie. Essentially. It was messed up. Yeah. How dare you question me? Yeah. Yeah. I also established early on that Carrie, you know, is testing off the charts. So she's not like, she's intelligent and, and she's younger than the rest of her, her peers. Yeah. You know, I mean that all plays to me, that all play. And I,

[00:35:37] it's probably a lot of it was the, the fact, you know, in the 76 version, they only had 90 minutes, dude. So they had to race through everything to get this stuff done. But this one, I like, I love when you could take a novel and just take your time with it. To explore some of the nuances. and I think that's why the characters for me have not brought me out in terms of like, sure it's high school, whatever, but it feels accurate. It doesn't feel like, Oh, these are adult people trying to play high school students.

[00:36:07] It felt, it feels, it feels right. I feel at times it's too high school. Like there's certain plot points. I mean, but it's high school. I mean, I don't know. I get it, but it's like, I would never watch. Like Glee, you know what I mean? Like I would never watch this to show the high school, you know, it's just very, it just skews very young. What a, yeah. What was that show? Was it kids? That documentary type thing?

[00:36:37] Not documentary, but the thing with kids, like Rosario Dawson was in it. And it was like, it was supposed to be, I never saw it, but I know it was like outrageous. And the kids are wild. I feel like this is kind of, it wasn't. I actually had a question about, and I've always wondered about this. I don't know too, since you have kids this age, pretty.

[00:37:02] Are kids really as cruel in high school nowadays as these kids are? Cause like the ish that they are doing to carry seems off the charts. I mean, it's somewhat over the top, but it's a TV show. Yeah. No. And I think, I think it also differs like on where you're at. Cause the thing is there's somewhere in the Midwest. I just think that kids get down differently in different parts of the country. Like if you're in LA, I mean,

[00:37:31] you could, I mean, if you were at a, you know, at Compton high or banning, that's going to be a lot different than, or Long Beach, probably whatever. It's going to be a lot different than, Oh, we're in Ohio. And I think that, I think there's a lot, I don't know. Cause I didn't grow up in the Midwest or whatever, but like the fact that like Chris and her dad kind of are the big mucky mucks in town, but he's losing his money. But they, you know, I can see like there being a, a cast system. I, in other words, I'm saying, I believe it. It's like, I don't,

[00:38:01] it's not what I'm familiar with. And even McKenna saw like a scene. Um, and she's like, wow. And she saw the scene where, uh, first period where, where, uh, they were, where they're throwing the tampons at her. Yeah. She's just like, Oh, that, you know, it's like, you know, my, my, and my daughter plays sports. So she's like, this is not, you know, plug it up. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Basically. Was she implying that she laughed over the top for her? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:38:31] I mean, I mean, it did seem over the top that a bunch of girls are going to start throwing tampons at some girl. And recording it. And recording it. But I think it has to be, I think there have to be moments. Yeah. You know, in this type of show where it's like, you have to show the extremes. You have to show how cruel the mean girls are. You have to show how victimized and bullied Carrie is. But that much. So I mean, to the point where it's pockets. Cause you hear news stories.

[00:39:01] I chalk up to like news stories where you hear these stories where you think, Oh, there's no way. But then you hear, Oh, these girls did X, Y, and Z. Oregon or something, you know, wherever some small town, you know, you would think, Oh, this wouldn't happen, but it does. I'm going to go along with it. You know? And like a dude says, they need to, you know, accentuate the action. And yeah. And establish the parameters. Yeah.

[00:39:32] Have they started, JD, have they started the, uh, the historic prologues yet up to episode four? You talking about the documentary stuff? Flashbacks. No, no, I've only seen the, I've only seen the documentary scenes where they're talking about. Yeah. At the beginning of every episode, like they talk about, Oh, in the past there were, but I don't know if that started yet. I don't know if it's dude,

[00:40:02] it started from episode one. Was it? Yes. Where they were there, where she's talking like Sue, like Sue sitting in a chair and asking her questions. That's where they're talking about. Like people from the past, like, Oh, but like to save them. Which was it? I don't remember that. I don't, I haven't seen it. I don't think that started yet. Dude. It might be third or so episode. I don't, but it's still, I might've missed one. Maybe I'm not recalling one, but if they have, it's, they haven't done it much yet.

[00:40:31] You might be skipping through it. It's literally at the beginning or shortly after the beginning. It's really like the very first thing that's happening. There's like a prologue. Yeah. It talks about the history of how women have been treated in the past with special powers. And, Oh, I did. I did see one of those. I did. I remember seeing one about witches or something. Yes. Yeah. But I think that's like the only one I've seen. I haven't. Okay. It doesn't seem like I didn't know it was recurring. So.

[00:41:01] Yeah. Interesting. Which is interesting. Yeah. I like those. What? I know. Wasn't it? Wasn't it more interesting than the show? Was it, wasn't when Carrie was looking at a book or something and then they, I mean, there is one scene where she's doing research and looking in the book. I remember like the telekinesis thing where she was looking at the, the, that stuff. But then I thought that like they cut from the witch stuff to her.

[00:41:31] Research. Yeah. Yeah. Researching it or something at school. I don't know. Yeah. Well, I know one thing that that's come up in these first four episodes is the cutaway to the, you know, the Dr. Xavier school of gifted women. That's what I'm waiting on. I want to, I want to see. I mean, that was in episode one. I think even episode one or two, it was episode one. It was the end of episode one. Yeah.

[00:42:01] What are your thoughts on that? Well, like you said, Xavier school for gifted. Never Hogwarts, wherever the hell it is. Like, I, you know, I thought I'm excited about that, but only because it, I think sometimes like Stephen King has this great ability to, there's these, this mythos of these worlds or universes that he creates. So like when I, when I saw the movie, it was, Oh, okay. It's cool. Whatever.

[00:42:31] But then when I see, welcome to Dairy, I'm like, Oh my God, this is so much more expansive. It deals with racial issues and social issues and all these other things. I'm like that would, so for me, I love welcome to Dairy way more than it. I mean, it was just cool, but it, you know, it kind of deals with that power, that, that, that dark energy that's in that area. And so I'm hoping that, you know, carries if Carrie, if the show is good, it's just not a one and done. There's like this folklore or this lore story,

[00:43:00] lore or world that he's built that can maybe parlay into another season or another, another universe of other shows. If it's, you know, if it's engaging enough, but I don't know. I mean, it sounds like, it doesn't sound like they go back to it. So I'm like, I'm not going to say, and I say this for all shows. Really? Y'all need to wrap shit up.

[00:43:28] Like I don't need shit lingering until a possible second season. Like, yeah, you show me something like that. Like, I want to see more of that because I think that's interesting. And it, it, it diverts from the original story. Absolutely. Absolutely. You've never seen that in any of the versions of Carrie. So then it's like, Oh, wait a minute. Oh shit. What's this? Yeah. Like, can I see more? What's happening with that? Right. Right. And, and, and again,

[00:43:56] that goes to welcome to dairy because they, they kick the doors open. Like when you think, Oh, this is something about it or whatever, but then they just, nah, we're going to take you. We're exploring all kinds of other ish that's going on in this town. And every episode was just keeping you. It was, it was almost, to me it was on par with like, what was it? So we like to do. Was it them? Yeah. Yeah. One on Amazon. Yeah. It was, it was like, to me, it was, it was, it was kind of on that level, you know, where it's like,

[00:44:26] wow, this world just keeps opening up and more and more stuff is there to keep you engaged. I mean, I think given how they presented it, it's fair enough to say it's going to come back. I hope so. Cause it would be a major flaw. It's like, what the hell is this? Well, it would be, what's our man's name? Oh, Damon Lindelof. It would be Linda Lof-esque.

[00:44:57] Yes. Right. And not revisit that. So it's right. Turns out Carrie is a purple lantern. What's her name? Miss Fletcher. What's, what's that woman? Carol Ferris. Carol Ferris. Carol Ferris. Carol Ferris is the one. Yeah. So, and I like Mike Flanagan. So I,

[00:45:25] hopefully I know he didn't direct all these, but you know, I thought that I think the direction has been good. So, you know. So anything else about these first four? I would, I would say this though. Yeah. The interesting thing that also differs in this so far from the 76 version is that Carrie in the 76 version is kind of gullible all the way along up to the prom. Where this took a, something that grabbed me was this took a turn.

[00:45:55] Like at the end of episode four, she came back. It was like, mama, you were right. You never get that in the, in the 76 version. Right. So this one's awesome. that, that was kind of cool. Cause I'm like, Oh, this is different. This is, you know, interesting. So I'm in, I'm excited to see how it unfolds. I would have watched it and caught up with you guys, but I had to watch. Vision quest. You had to watch it. You want to,

[00:46:24] I'm trying to stay on point with, you know, being prepared with what we're going to talk about. I'm trying to keep up with Javon. It's like torture. It gets, I hear what you've got to say, but it gets better as it goes along. Like I'll put it, I would say this, like out of the stinkers that Marvel has had of the shows, it's not there. It's not like one of the, so far, it's not like one of those. I agree. It's better than a lot. It's better than the echo. Over 50% of their shows. I know that's not a high bar. I'm just saying, it's not like, it's not like horrible. It's like,

[00:46:54] Oh my God. But, but I can't argue that it's, it definitely was not fast in the first episode. It was a lot of setup. And I, I totally understand what it do with saying. Cause I was even, where I was watching like, man, it's a whole, I can't watch eight episodes of this shit. It was like this. Yeah. Yeah. Which is crazy. Cause so many people are, are raving about it. Really? Yeah. Well, let me tell you back. They did the same. I watch champion. He,

[00:47:24] but he's going off. He's raving about it. No, he is. And so is Rob, but then they're saying all the critics people. That's not, no, no, I understand. I understand. But what he said, but he brings receipts. See, like, he's like, Oh my God, it's got this score and all these people. And he's listing all the people that have watched it and what they're saying. And here's these reviews. I'm like, okay. So I was expecting something very engaging when I, I saw that first episode. I was, I was like, Ooh, this is, this is going to be, you gotta,

[00:47:53] you gotta have some coffee if we watch this one. See, I'm wondering if the critics and stuff are doing like they did with WandaVision though, because when WandaVision started first couple of episodes, people didn't like, they were like, what is this? This is, okay. It's cool that they're showing old TV and trying to update. It took until the third episode for that thing to. Yeah. It took a while. Even walk faster. It was just going slow. Yeah. Yeah. So hopefully.

[00:48:22] But I remember people being blown away by, I remember like, I remember people raving about the, the, the device. Yes. That of this, of, of the story weaving and the telling of it. And I'm just like, and for me, I didn't like it. I was like, dude, you could have done this all in one episode, but everybody else, Oh my God, this is revolutionary. I'm like, okay, I get it. But let's kill you. We could have done this in episode one. No, I agree. Yeah. Was that the, was that the first,

[00:48:51] was that or Loki, the first post end game television show? I thought it was before Loki. I think you're right. I think it was before Loki. It was before Loki, but I don't, for some reason, I didn't know if either of them, that would have to be the first one because that's the first one that they showed people coming back and stuff. Yeah. And, but then I think because you have Ms. Marvel was before Loki, right? No, it wasn't. No, it wasn't. The show wasn't. Oh yeah.

[00:49:20] Loki was definitely either first or second. Cause I remember the first couple. I remember the first couple of shows after end game felt like they were decent, good shows. And then both Loki and WandaVision were 2021. Okay. Yeah. So that makes total sense. And then they had stinkers like the invasion. What was this? Something invasion? Oh man. The secret. Secret invasion. That was, yeah.

[00:49:50] Not good. She-Hulk, not that great. She-Hulk was not good. Falcon and the Winter Soldier. I mean, I'm happy that black man had a job, but. Yeah. It was, it was just kind of boring though, right? It was kind of boring. It was just like one of those. Yeah. Yeah. It was Jessica Jones. Jessica Jones. Well, I mean, those are, you starting to get into the Netflix kind of, those are, Jessica Jones, but that was before. Yeah. Same with Daredevil too.

[00:50:16] They were kind of in the weird zone because they were picked back up after they got canceled on Netflix. So, cause to me, I love, I like Daredevil. I like Daredevil a lot, but it just, it got critical acclaim, but nobody watched it. Well, Netflix just canceled them all anyway. Marvel didn't, Marvel wanted to bring them to Disney plus. Right. Well, you know, the new one though, I'm saying they, they canceled, but there was enough. And so I've watched the new three seasons of Daredevil. Reborn.

[00:50:47] Yeah. Reborn. And I really like it, but it's not, it got, they said they're shelving it now. That's this, that's it. So, but because it's just not getting the rating and it was cool. Cause Jessica Jones was starting to show up and. Yeah. The last season was, Oh yeah, let's get Jessica Jones, but I don't know. She might not. Luke Cage. So. What's that? I said, she also shows up in Luke Cage. Yeah. They have a kid in, in Daredevil. They have this little alert.

[00:51:17] I mean, it's not a, it's not a spoiler alert. 10 years later. Right. Oh, that's from that long ago. Okay. My bad. No, no, no. This is from a couple of years. The kid is from Daredevil. Yeah. Daredevil. I mean, it's not a secret. It's not a secret. They, I mean, they have a kid. None of this has to do with Carrie or Vision Quest. At all. tangential to Vision. I'm just saying. That's all you need to know about Carrie and Vision Quest. Yeah.

[00:51:45] So we all agreed we will cover the final four episodes of Carrie next week. I guess so. I'll try to make it four hours each. I guess. I mean, I only got two hours left and I'm like, D. I thought for sure you'd be digging this one, I did. Yeah. Hopefully the last two episodes are amazing because let me just tell you, there's a preview. Five and six. Filler. Straight up filler. I'm like,

[00:52:14] I really liked the end of six. I'm like, this season could have been, I did like the end of six, but it took so long. Like, yeah. Without saying what happens. Yes. I perked up then. Cause I was like, Oh, finally something, something else. But then it was just like. Javon, since you and I have watched LA, do we want to pay bets on what the dude thinks about. I got to tell you, can I put places? Can I put some money on you about what? He's going to,

[00:52:42] he's going to like at the very least the eighth episode. We'll see about the seventh, but you already know what's coming in terms of the prom and all that stuff. Yeah. I mean, we see. But the way, but, but the way it goes down. I have a theory. It's a good. All right. I think. I don't hear it. Theory. Yeah. Yeah. I have a theory that, and I hope this happens, but the Xavier school for gifted children,

[00:53:11] I feel like it plays a role in the amount of destruction in that town. Yeah. I got that vibe too. I feel like it just wasn't Carrie. And I feel like Sue alludes to that. Well, she says it directly. She says, you're asking the wrong question. It's not just about Carrie. It's yeah. You're asking, you're asking the wrong people or the wrong question or something. So I guess there was some, there were some, what do they call them? She was a smart girl to pick, pick up on stuff. And she's like, yeah, she,

[00:53:40] she didn't just say it once, but whenever they cut to Sue, there's like some allusion to other things. She'll kind of dance around it, but she's alluding to more than just, she's like, no, you don't understand. I'm trying to tell you what really happened. It was more than just, yeah, it wasn't just. Yeah. She says that. So what's your, what's your prediction, Javon? I predict a dude would probably give it like, a B for the last couple, for the last couple of episodes. For a B?

[00:54:11] Yeah. I'm that's high from, I'm thinking that's high. Javon, you're so optimistic. You're so optimistic. You're such a good guy. There's only a few shows. Look, there's only a few shows that have hit the A mark. I think I've, I've been very vocal about what they are. One is Whittles Bay. What's the other? Yeah. Whittles Bay, The Wire. Oh, shoot. The greatest, the greatest TV show ever. I'm a liar. If it's not Godfather level,

[00:54:40] I don't want to hear about it. I don't want to even talk about it. Six million dollar man. I'm kidding. Sopranos. You know you like Isis. Oh, mighty Isis. Right. Right. Bigfoot and Wild Boy. No, there's only a few. Speed Racer was one. Transformers. Animated. Kimba, Kimba, the White Lion. The original anime. The one that, that came on before Kimba, the White Lion. Yeah. That was a cool ass TV show. That was a cool ass block of show. Yeah.

[00:55:10] Yeah. Japanese, Japanese block. The original Speed Racer is amazing. Yeah. Yeah. I want one of those cars so badly. I know. The Mach 5. What was it? The Mach 5? Yeah. I want, I want the Racer X's car. That's true. His car was sweet. His car was cool as hell. I wanted to be Racer X. He was badass. I wanted to be Racer X. I'm like, the big brother is the one I want to be. That's right. All right. Maybe C plus. Maybe it gives it a C plus. dude. Now, now it's dropping.

[00:55:40] Now it's probably fast. Next week, when we start off, okay, it's down to a D. It's down to a D. We check with Pauly Market, and Pauly Market is giving this no more than a D. What do you think, what do you think JD's going to think of that? I think he'll give it a B plus. JD's already. The thing is, I'm very patient. I can, I can, I can, if this, to me is, if the logic is there,

[00:56:10] and the direction is good, I'll, I'll let you take your time. I hate, so, so I, and I'm opposite of a do on that. Like I, I can, yeah, again, I'm watching Vision Quest. I'm fine with shows taking their time, but, it can't just be filler. Like, it can't be like, what the fuck, was this episode for? Yeah. Like, and there's so many shows that are like that. Yeah. Where it's just like, I, I didn't need to, I don't care if your season is five episodes.

[00:56:40] If it's five solid episodes, shit, I'm going to give you all the credit. But if it's like eight episodes, and two of those episodes, like, are just filler? Yeah. Like, why are you wasting my time with this? We should, I would be curious. You should watch, try to watch the rest of Vision in the second episode. Try, just try. Try, because I think, I'm going to watch it in two seconds. Ron, have you seen, I'm going to watch it in 10 minute blocks.

[00:57:10] Yeah. I'm just saying, I'm just saying, finish it by Christmas. When you get ready to go to sleep, when you get ready to go to sleep, just turn on your phone, so you can go to sleep. Oh, no, no. But, I've seen, I've seen the first two episodes, and like the first third of episode three. And what did you think about the second episode? Did it, I mean, it picks up a bit, but, it was still kind of, and as I said last week, there was, because last week we talked about the first two episodes. Okay. And last week,

[00:57:40] I felt like they tried to, pull on the heart strings with the sacrifice of Jarvis. Oh, Jarvis, yeah. That was, like, why didn't the two January guys, dudes, go? Right, right. Like, people, the one sacrificing himself, is of these two nubskles that no one cares about. Right. another, another A-level show. Uh, oh,

[00:58:10] damn. Magnum P.I. Magnum P.I. is A-level. Riptide A-level. Did you, did you, all right, here's a good test. my God. Did you watch Pluribus? Simon and Simon. Simon and Simon is brilliant. Yeah, Simon and Simon was great. Did you watch Pluribus? Did he? I, I've watched three episodes? That one drags too. That one's, it definitely drags. I like, I like, um, I forget the actress's name from Breaking Bad.

[00:58:40] Yeah, yeah, yeah. I like her. Um, I do like it. I'll go back, I'm definitely going to go back to it. Yeah. But, you know, I started watching it, we started watching it together and then wifey was like, no more. Yeah. Well, I think waiting. Right. Like, are you going to come back in with me? And I don't think she is. So I'm just going to finish it on my own. Yeah. And the challenge with that show is that part of the, I guess, the conceit for showing it is that

[00:59:08] it's all about being isolated and alone and, and monotony of nothing going on, you know? And so that kind of, it's a little repetitive at times. Yeah. Right. But it, but also I think really leans into that, trying to make you feel the, the monotony of being isolated, you know, because, because it's not like, Oh, she's by herself and it's, you know, she's been by herself for a day. It's like, this woman has been by herself for months, you know? And it's like,

[00:59:39] there's only so much they can do, but then they start. The cool thing about it is they start shifting the perspective. This isn't really a spoiler, but you're not just stuck with her. You start to realize, I can't remember what they show by episode three, but there are, there are a couple other people like her that did survive the, the onslaught of, of this virus or whatever. yeah. Yeah. So it's kind of cool. That, that's keeps energy in the show.

[01:00:07] Like it keeps swiveling to different characters. Did you, uh, did you watch Severance? Did he? Uh, there were two seasons. Oh yeah. Yeah. Did you like that one? Yeah. I, I believe I told JD about that to me. I think, I feel like we've talked, I feel like the three of us talked about that show is just a little bit. It might've been when we were doing, um, house of the dragon. We came up, it came up, it came up a bit. The way I feel about that show.

[01:00:38] And we've definitely talked about this. Cause we do. It was a drama. It was like the drama show for Ron. No, no, no, no. You gotta watch it. You gotta watch Severance. To me, that show, I feel like that show is successful. Well, put it this way. It's an interesting show. Right. But I feel like it keeps, well, doesn't keep people interested. I feel like it gets away with being weird and not really saying anything. Yeah.

[01:01:10] It feels like there should be, like it doesn't say a lot. For the two seasons we've had. Yeah. We should be further along. Yeah. It feels like. Further along in terms of. It finally gave us something in season two, but I'm just like, dude, like that's definitely a show that. I won't say it's filler because it's interesting content. Right. But it's not telling you anything. It's just weird. Yeah. Yeah.

[01:01:39] And the things that they do tell you, it takes them a long time to get this. It's too far, you know? So calm. And it's so convoluted at times. Yeah. So, yeah, I mean, whatever. We'll definitely, we should definitely cover that when it comes back on. Cause it'd be interesting. Yeah. I got to go. I got to pick up Lolo guys. All right. Well, we're done here. Do all the things. Give us a like share. And we'll finish.

[01:02:10] We'll finish the second half of the carry season next week. And then we'll figure out what we're going to do after that. After that, we'll just be committed to vision. And I'll read the book. I'll read carry. I'll have carry read by next week. So I'll have the novel done. There's crystal. There's crystal. Maybe we'll do that too. I want to, I want to keep that out. All right. Next week. Peace. Peace.
