[00:01:20] Hello and welcome back to Radioactive Ramblings.

[00:01:23] This is our show Ramblers Rising.

[00:01:25] I'm your host Richard.

[00:01:27] And I'm your other host Aaron.

[00:01:30] Today we are going to be going over chapters 23 through 25 of Red Rising again.

[00:01:36] Because we recorded this once before and my microphone audio was, let's say, not too good.

[00:01:45] I don't think that my microphone was picking up on anything.

[00:01:48] I think that it was going through my headphones, which have a very old and unintelligible microphone on them.

[00:01:56] So we're here re-recording.

[00:01:58] It was fantastic.

[00:02:00] Richard, how are you today?

[00:02:03] I'm doing fantastic.

[00:02:04] I went to Barnes & Noble, picked up the Book of Bill, the first book of Mistborn, and the fifth book of the Red Rising series.

[00:02:13] It was very productive.

[00:02:15] How about you?

[00:02:17] I'm doing pretty good, me.

[00:02:19] And I shouldn't even say me because I didn't really do any of it.

[00:02:24] But our other co-host Chase, who he and I share an apartment, was making pumpkin cookies this morning.

[00:02:33] And I was watching and laughing as he was trying to ice them to varying degrees of success.

[00:02:40] So why wasn't I invited?

[00:02:42] There's so many pumpkin cookies.

[00:02:44] Get your ass down here.

[00:02:48] Maybe just bring them up.

[00:02:50] I mean, I will be there in like a week and a half.

[00:02:54] Yeah, yeah, I'm hyped.

[00:02:56] I know.

[00:02:56] Might have to do a double recording of Red Rising next week so that I can...

[00:03:01] Yeah, just so we can...

[00:03:03] Yeah, stay on schedule for that.

[00:03:05] Yeah, but it'll be great.

[00:03:08] I meant to text you.

[00:03:10] We, it seems, are having some kind of Thanksgiving thing.

[00:03:14] Probably on Black Friday, I believe, is the plan.

[00:03:17] Gotcha, gotcha.

[00:03:19] Be there, be square, buddy.

[00:03:21] I'm sure I can make it to that.

[00:03:23] Well, if I'm not 100% sure, I'll make it 100% sure.

[00:03:27] Oh, I also have to like get details, but...

[00:03:31] Yeah.

[00:03:31] Nice.

[00:03:32] Well, I'm excited.

[00:03:33] I'm excited to come home and visit.

[00:03:36] See you, see my dog, see my family.

[00:03:38] Oh my God, Galleon.

[00:03:40] Galleon the golden doodle.

[00:03:42] What a dog.

[00:03:43] He's certainly something.

[00:03:45] He's a little goofball.

[00:03:47] Well, not so little.

[00:03:48] He's like 120 pounds, but he's a goofball.

[00:03:50] He's bigger than you at this point, bud.

[00:03:53] He weighs almost as much as I do.

[00:03:55] Damn.

[00:03:57] Yeah, kind of crazy.

[00:03:59] But he is, um, he's got that standard poodle in him for sure.

[00:04:04] Oh, I bet.

[00:04:06] Yeah, definitely.

[00:04:07] You've got a dog that's not ridiculously large, so...

[00:04:14] That's correct.

[00:04:15] Although the vet does say that she's fat.

[00:04:19] She's still, she's a small dog.

[00:04:22] I don't know.

[00:04:24] She's fat for her size though, unfortunately.

[00:04:26] But...

[00:04:27] We don't care.

[00:04:29] It's not to the point where it's like unhealthy.

[00:04:31] We just, you know, you give her a treat and she's all happy.

[00:04:34] Yeah, just to treat her too overweight, a little bit spoiled.

[00:04:38] Yeah, of course.

[00:04:39] And that's how dogs should be.

[00:04:41] Damn straight.

[00:04:42] That's great.

[00:04:43] All right.

[00:04:44] Should we get into it with chapter 23, Fracture, yet again?

[00:04:48] Yeah, again.

[00:04:50] I'm glad though this time I'm not tired as hell from building a Lego set at four in the morning the night before.

[00:04:57] Yeah, you got that Hollow Knight Lego set that's been all over my TikTok for you page.

[00:05:01] Yeah, I'm staring at him right now.

[00:05:04] It's so sick.

[00:05:06] Release silks on, please.

[00:05:08] It's never gonna happen.

[00:05:10] Never gonna happen.

[00:05:11] I don't think it is either, but a man can hope.

[00:05:15] One day.

[00:05:16] One day.

[00:05:17] One day.

[00:05:17] So, starting us off with chapter 23, Fracture.

[00:05:21] It has been four days since Titus brought home the first slave and House Mars has actually divided itself into four different tribes.

[00:05:31] Antonia leading the mid-drafts, Titus leading some of the high drafts and some of the mid-drafts,

[00:05:36] Jero leading the mid and the low drafts,

[00:05:39] and then we have Goblin, who's kind of a tribe of one at this point, off doing his own thing, right?

[00:05:46] Oh yeah, he, as I put in the fucking outline, he's just kind of gallivanting through the woods.

[00:05:52] I love that word, it's so whimsical.

[00:05:55] Gallivanting, for sure.

[00:05:56] Makes me think that he's just skipping through the woods.

[00:06:00] Okay, good.

[00:06:01] I'm glad it's not just me.

[00:06:03] But yeah, he skips through the woods wearing his wolf pelt, and he really has earned the name Goblin already.

[00:06:10] He kills shit with his bare hands, and they think he's tamed wolves at this point.

[00:06:18] Severu is just here to spread his aura.

[00:06:20] I mean, both in the literal sense, because he stinks canonically, I think at this point, because he's literally wearing a dead wolf pelt, and also because he's a cool character.

[00:06:33] Yeah, Severu, one of his rules later on is that, oh my god, is Pixies don't shower before battle, so he doesn't shower before fights.

[00:06:44] And Severu at some points will be on, like, he'll be in a battle every single day for, like, months on end.

[00:06:52] So he's just rank.

[00:06:53] So he really just stinks.

[00:06:56] Yeah.

[00:06:57] I mean, there's a scene later on where they literally think that he's, like, an abomination that was caused from, like, nuclear radiation, and it's just Severu wearing his wolf pelt, stinking like a motherfucker.

[00:07:12] Someone needs to teach him how to cure the wolf hide, like, do the whole tanning method.

[00:07:20] No.

[00:07:21] Someone needs to get that stink off of that wolf pelt. He needs to figure that one out.

[00:07:27] I think he does, but the problem is that, like, he just doesn't take care of himself when he's at war.

[00:07:34] Yeah.

[00:07:35] I mean, you know, if stinking is what makes you happy when you're in battle, I guess do what makes you happy when you're putting your life on the line every day.

[00:07:48] I don't know, man, but poor Darrow.

[00:07:51] He's got to smell that.

[00:07:53] Yeah.

[00:07:54] But, yeah, so there's been some friction between the tribes already, as we can kind of guess, but Cassius and Darrow, they kind of do their own thing.

[00:08:02] And they really bond a lot at the start of this chapter.

[00:08:06] And then Cassius ruins it by bringing up his dead brother.

[00:08:10] And Darrow's just sitting there like, oh, yeah, I killed that guy.

[00:08:13] I should feel like a terrible person.

[00:08:15] And, yeah, I mean, Darrow internally is probably he's he's struggling a little bit between like, do I feel bad because I'm kind of getting close with this guy and I killed his brother?

[00:08:28] Or do I just say, fuck it, because eventually I'm going to fuck these people over?

[00:08:32] And also he was a gold.

[00:08:34] So he's a little conflicted at this point.

[00:08:37] Yeah, he definitely has the.

[00:08:40] I would say he has the moral high ground on this one, even though kill it, murdering people is wrong.

[00:08:46] He kind of had to do it.

[00:08:48] Yeah, he it was killer be killed in that situation.

[00:08:51] So he didn't have too much of a choice.

[00:08:53] And especially if he wants to get through the entirety of the Institute, he he had to make that difficult call and actually do it.

[00:09:01] But after they have their little bonding moment and where Darrow feels a little bit guilty, we get some notable people in Darrow's tribe.

[00:09:13] We have Quinn, Leah, Clown, Screwface, Weed, Pebble and Thistle, which are mostly nicknames.

[00:09:20] I don't think that Quinn and they are their names.

[00:09:23] Quinn and Leah, those are their names.

[00:09:24] But everyone else.

[00:09:26] Yeah, no one's no one had a kid and was like, you know what?

[00:09:29] Yep.

[00:09:29] That's Screwface right there.

[00:09:32] I mean, you might if they're if they were really like a messed up looking kid.

[00:09:37] I mean, Screwface is messed up, but I love Screwface.

[00:09:41] He he I believe I believe it's he it's been a minute.

[00:09:45] One of my favorite characters in the second trilogy, for sure.

[00:09:49] I mean, he doesn't do much in the first trilogy.

[00:09:52] He's really only important in the last book.

[00:09:54] Well, the sixth book, I shouldn't say the last, but he's goaded.

[00:09:59] Yeah.

[00:10:00] Good old Screwface.

[00:10:02] But Darrow orders Thistle to screw with Leah to get back at her.

[00:10:07] Or I'm sorry, to get her to lock in, not to get back at her.

[00:10:10] Yeah, no.

[00:10:10] Get her to lock in, motherfucker.

[00:10:13] Exactly.

[00:10:13] Lock in, motherfucker.

[00:10:15] And it kind of works.

[00:10:17] I mean, she's a lot more like stable after that.

[00:10:22] Yeah, she she really does.

[00:10:24] Like it works.

[00:10:25] She locks in and becomes a very integral part of Darrow's Darrow's tribe, I think.

[00:10:33] Yeah, for sure.

[00:11:02] Yeah.

[00:11:04] It's just they're in a bad place if they want to fight the other houses.

[00:11:08] Yeah.

[00:11:09] All I got to say, a vote for Darrow is a vote for the people.

[00:11:12] All right.

[00:11:13] Vote for Darrow.

[00:11:15] I mean, literally it is like he's he's working for the people at this point.

[00:11:21] He was sent here by the sons of Ares and they don't know that.

[00:11:27] But I'm sure of chains.

[00:11:30] All right, Darrow.

[00:11:31] He is not Daenerys Targaryen.

[00:11:34] I don't think you understand that he literally is the breaker of chains in later parts of the series.

[00:11:42] I love Darrow.

[00:11:44] That's interesting.

[00:11:45] Like, does he actually get that moniker?

[00:11:48] It's only one of like his 20 monikers.

[00:11:50] And honestly, it's one of the weaker ones because come on, being known as the fucking Reaper.

[00:11:56] Yeah.

[00:11:56] That's that's hard.

[00:11:58] Yeah.

[00:11:58] I can never hear the title breaker of chains and not immediately just jump to Daenerys Targaryen.

[00:12:05] Yeah.

[00:12:06] I never watched or read any of the Game of Thrones series.

[00:12:09] So, yeah, I can't tell him you get on that.

[00:12:11] I will get there.

[00:12:12] I'm I'm leeching off of your HBO now.

[00:12:14] So I kind of have to.

[00:12:15] Good.

[00:12:16] Yeah.

[00:12:16] It's like the tax.

[00:12:19] Exactly.

[00:12:20] And Chase actually told me that he was wanting to get caught up on Red Rising.

[00:12:26] So.

[00:12:27] Oh, what a good guy.

[00:12:28] Maybe he'll actually catch up with us and we can have him on the pod.

[00:12:32] I think it'll be interesting, especially like when we're when we get to like where you're at in Golden Sun.

[00:12:38] It'll be interesting.

[00:12:39] Like if you guys want to add stuff in as you read, as you read, like from your perspective as a fresh reader, whereas like I'm going back and reading it.

[00:12:51] And I know the consequences of stuff and I know all of this, like I think we'll definitely have some some some interesting discussions.

[00:12:58] Yeah.

[00:12:59] Having someone who is a little bit ahead, someone who's completely ahead and then someone who literally just read it.

[00:13:05] It would be good to have all three of those perspectives.

[00:13:08] So hopefully he gets on that.

[00:13:10] And as Leah does locks the fuck in.

[00:13:14] Yeah.

[00:13:15] Yeah.

[00:13:15] This is a chapter.

[00:13:16] They all lock in a little bit more.

[00:13:18] I do.

[00:13:20] But the the end result of that debate between Roke and Darrow is they need to attempt at least to propose an alliance.

[00:13:29] And Darrow doesn't want to do that because he wants to be the he needs to be in charge.

[00:13:34] He needs to be a high up in the government.

[00:13:39] Yeah.

[00:13:40] I mean, government efficiency to hit with two leaders.

[00:13:44] Sorry, I got to cut that out.

[00:13:46] OK, buddy.

[00:13:47] That is fucking wild.

[00:13:49] It is kind of wild.

[00:13:51] But we mentioned before several is a tribe of one.

[00:13:54] And the only person that he really meets with is occasionally Quinn.

[00:13:59] But he's very much isolated and on his own at this point.

[00:14:03] Yeah, he.

[00:14:05] I hate saying this because like it makes me think of like the alpha male people.

[00:14:11] But he is literally a lone wolf right now.

[00:14:15] Like so.

[00:14:17] That's the one problem I have with like the wolf symbolism is that that's what it makes me think of.

[00:14:21] But I love how it's done.

[00:14:24] Outside of that.

[00:14:26] Yeah.

[00:14:27] We can't let the the like stinky alpha male community ruin wolves.

[00:14:34] Can't let them do it.

[00:14:35] That's why I like Motionless and White has a song called Werewolf.

[00:14:38] And I love the song.

[00:14:39] It's it's like synthy almost.

[00:14:41] It's it's peak.

[00:14:42] But it just makes me think of like those guys.

[00:14:47] Toxic.

[00:14:47] Oh, come on.

[00:14:49] But whatever.

[00:14:50] I understand that.

[00:14:51] Titus and his men attack Leo, which sparks a new debate between Roque and Darrow.

[00:14:57] And what do they talk about?

[00:14:58] That it's pretty much not.

[00:15:01] I guess I should.

[00:15:02] It's the same debate.

[00:15:04] But they really like they really kind of lock in that answer of.

[00:15:07] All right.

[00:15:08] We need to.

[00:15:09] We can't have this keep happening.

[00:15:11] We need to become allies.

[00:15:15] There we go.

[00:15:16] Yeah.

[00:15:16] I mean, they can't hope to win anything if they're attacking each other.

[00:15:20] It's just not going to work out.

[00:15:22] Yeah.

[00:15:22] And that's the final result of their final debate for this chapter.

[00:15:29] I mean, they their dichotomy is great.

[00:15:31] I love Roque and Darrow debates.

[00:15:33] It's the poet and the Reaper.

[00:15:35] The poet and the Reaper.

[00:15:37] Yeah.

[00:15:38] You might be the poet after that one.

[00:15:40] Darrow decides to talk to Vixus, which Titus is who?

[00:15:45] Which is Titus is brutal second in command.

[00:15:48] But Titus kind of intercepts and the two talk.

[00:15:52] Titus is really suspicious of Darrow, who smells like a campfire.

[00:15:57] Yeah, because Titus and his men and women, Titus and his people, they don't have they don't know how to make fire.

[00:16:05] So they are just eating raw meat.

[00:16:08] And it's it's doing a number on them.

[00:16:10] I didn't put all this in there because I really didn't want to type out all of that.

[00:16:15] You don't have to.

[00:16:16] They're going through it.

[00:16:18] Digest.

[00:16:19] Digest.

[00:16:19] Digestively.

[00:16:20] Digestively.

[00:16:21] There we go.

[00:16:22] Digestively.

[00:16:22] Yeah.

[00:16:22] They've probably got like worms and parasites poisoning the rivers.

[00:16:28] Oh, they also don't dig latrines properly.

[00:16:32] Oh, yeah.

[00:16:34] Titus.

[00:16:34] Come on, man.

[00:16:35] Come on.

[00:16:37] Yeah.

[00:16:38] But Darrow finally makes his proposal that they stop rating, start sharing resources and knowledge.

[00:16:43] But Titus being the complete and utter asshole that he is just he won't accept it.

[00:16:49] He dislikes how confident of a leader Darrow is.

[00:16:52] Yeah.

[00:16:53] And they're kind of, you know, they're in the hallway of this castle.

[00:16:58] Darrow's kind of cornered by Titus and Vixus.

[00:17:01] And he he kind of just pounces on Vixus for a second and just sprints.

[00:17:07] And he's he's really on like an adrenaline high at this point.

[00:17:12] He just keeps repeating to himself kind of the way that I read it, at least is he's kind

[00:17:16] of repeating it like frantically, like, holy shit, I didn't kill him.

[00:17:19] Like, thank God I didn't kill him.

[00:17:21] Just keeps repeating that he didn't kill Titus or he didn't kill Vixus.

[00:17:25] I think that's a very thing.

[00:17:28] Very hot headed moment.

[00:17:29] And he just barely is able to calm himself down enough to stop himself, which.

[00:17:35] Yeah.

[00:17:36] It shows some interesting character development there.

[00:17:41] Yeah.

[00:17:41] Because I mean, Darrow, I don't know, eight chapters ago would have seen these golds and

[00:17:47] just kind of gone ham if given the opportunity.

[00:17:50] Yeah.

[00:17:50] It's almost like he's learning a little bit of restraint now that he's living with the

[00:17:54] golds.

[00:17:54] He he really has to, otherwise he won't survive.

[00:17:58] Yeah.

[00:17:59] It's that.

[00:18:00] Sorry.

[00:18:01] I think it's also sorry.

[00:18:03] I I think it's also indicative of like his remorse for what he did to Julian, because

[00:18:08] I mean, he even like, yes, he had to kill Julian, but he really didn't want to.

[00:18:14] And honestly, I fuck with that.

[00:18:16] It's still one of his biggest regrets in book six.

[00:18:20] I mean, it's crazy.

[00:18:24] Yeah, I'm sure that it is because Darrow eventually does come to believe through his

[00:18:30] interactions with the golds, like even though that the like these are the horrible, oppressive

[00:18:35] people, there's still I still don't want to be killing.

[00:18:39] You know, I I have to kill in a lot of situations because of where he's at.

[00:18:45] And he's he's just always conflicted about it, which I think is the mark of someone who's

[00:18:51] not completely insane.

[00:18:53] Obviously, I think that if you want to kill, there's clearly something wrong there.

[00:18:58] So it's it's good to see Darrow holding on to his humanity, even if it's just by a thread.

[00:19:05] Yeah, unfortunately, there are a lot of people that Darrow does want to kill.

[00:19:11] Yeah, it's a very interesting line that he walks when it comes to that, because like,

[00:19:16] I think I said this last episode or maybe I said it when we were recording this earlier.

[00:19:21] One of his quotes is he literally says that he weaves enemies into his twitching meat carpet.

[00:19:27] Like, yeah, I think you brought that up on our first recording in that.

[00:19:32] That's just a crazy damn quote.

[00:19:35] Yeah.

[00:19:35] And like, that's that's fucking insane.

[00:19:39] It's true.

[00:19:40] Like the way he describes what he does to the troops he's mowing down.

[00:19:44] That's a good way to like.

[00:19:47] Describe it.

[00:19:48] But what the fuck?

[00:19:50] Darrow is kind of psychotic.

[00:19:53] Yeah.

[00:19:53] You know, what's really interesting about this world to me?

[00:19:57] I was thinking about how.

[00:20:01] It's we've said this before, that it's kind of like a crossover between like Game of Thrones

[00:20:06] and the Hunger Games in this first book with the whole concept of the Institute and everything.

[00:20:11] But I think that it's interesting because in books like the Hunger Games or the Divergent

[00:20:20] series, whatever other like sort of young adult teenagers fighting each other dystopia.

[00:20:26] Yeah, exactly.

[00:20:27] It's a very broken world and usually post apocalyptic.

[00:20:32] This world is not that it's a little bit different in that it's a progression of humanity.

[00:20:38] Humanity hasn't gone through this big apocalypse.

[00:20:40] It's gone through this strict caste system that's developed and it they believe that their society

[00:20:50] has gone further instead of gone backwards.

[00:20:54] I don't know.

[00:20:54] I just think that it's sort of an interesting way to distinguish this book from the other ones.

[00:21:02] Well, yeah, because you think about like this book came out in 2014.

[00:21:05] This is when like the Hunger Games, young adult dystopia craze was so massive.

[00:21:13] And I think that's ultimately why the book series is still going on.

[00:21:16] I mean.

[00:21:18] And why it's gotten so much more popular over the years is because it sets itself apart.

[00:21:23] But even then, like I will say the first book does skew a bit to Hunger Gamesy, in my opinion.

[00:21:29] But I think that as long as you can get through the first book and you start the second book,

[00:21:34] it becomes very clear that that's not what he's going for.

[00:21:39] Like he has a plan for what he wants to do.

[00:21:43] I'm interested to see how he ends the series.

[00:21:45] I have a theory that just because why would he?

[00:21:49] I don't think Darrow is going to survive the series.

[00:21:53] Yeah, I see Darrow as a very tragic figure who's going to end up being either a villain or be martyred from just seeing his anger and what is going on with him this early in the book.

[00:22:05] But I agree with you that like the first book is very Hunger Gamesy.

[00:22:09] And then after that, very Game of Thronesy.

[00:22:12] It transitions very fast and it doesn't stay too long in the young adult Hunger Games type of space.

[00:22:20] It transitions very well.

[00:22:24] It doesn't overstay its welcome in that genre.

[00:22:26] Yeah, and I would say the second book has two relatively Game of Thronesy scenes.

[00:22:32] The gala.

[00:22:34] I mean, you know I love the gala.

[00:22:35] Yeah, that's fantastic.

[00:22:37] That's a chapter of all time.

[00:22:38] And then the last couple chapters skew very Game of Thronesy.

[00:22:42] But it's just reminiscent.

[00:22:45] It doesn't feel like it was ripped straight out.

[00:22:47] It was more just like, you know, like I could see this happening in Game of Thrones.

[00:22:53] Yeah.

[00:22:55] Yeah, like political drama type of stuff.

[00:22:58] Yeah.

[00:22:59] Also very some very brutal scenes, but that's whatever.

[00:23:04] And that brings us to the beginning of chapter 24, which is titled Titus's War.

[00:23:11] Richard, do you want to start us off?

[00:23:13] Oh, sure.

[00:23:15] Darrow's running for his fucking life, obviously.

[00:23:17] After the last chapter where he kind of snapped.

[00:23:21] There we go.

[00:23:23] I really can't talk today.

[00:23:25] Neither can I.

[00:23:26] You're chilling.

[00:23:28] But yeah, he snaps.

[00:23:30] And as he's running out of the keep, he kind of tells all of his tribe mates to run with him.

[00:23:36] And they escape.

[00:23:37] Everything is all happy and great.

[00:23:38] And that's good.

[00:23:41] Yeah.

[00:23:42] And we also get some information that Titus is raiding the house series lately or daily now, actually.

[00:23:49] And he's giving tribal trophies out to his troops to keep morale up.

[00:23:54] And I think that some of them are quite gruesome trophies from what I remember, like giving out.

[00:23:59] It's like an ear skull, but it's still like, like it's not clean.

[00:24:06] It's still very like crusted in blood and it's disgusting.

[00:24:09] Lots of stuff like that.

[00:24:10] Like, oh my God, what's the example I'm trying to think of?

[00:24:15] I don't know if you ever played The Forest, but it reminds me of The Forest because of just how gross that game is.

[00:24:22] The Forest is the one where you're being hunted by cannibals in the woods, right?

[00:24:27] Yeah.

[00:24:27] And it is a game that you and I need to like, we got to play.

[00:24:31] Yeah.

[00:24:31] We should, we should play that.

[00:24:32] Absolutely.

[00:24:34] But yeah, all of these trophies are really nasty.

[00:24:37] It makes me think of like people who would drink wine out of a empty skull or something.

[00:24:44] It's just gross, you know?

[00:24:46] Yeah.

[00:24:46] I will say drinking wine out of like a horn is cool.

[00:24:50] Oh yeah, that's different.

[00:24:52] That's a different vibe entirely.

[00:24:54] But a skull, like yeah, is it metal as fuck?

[00:24:56] Sure.

[00:24:57] But it's also disgusting.

[00:24:59] Yeah.

[00:25:00] Dara gets to watch one of these raids on Ceres and Sue as Titus takes another slave with great brutality,

[00:25:07] giving her house the choice to either snap her neck or let him lasso her off their ramparts.

[00:25:14] This is just so fucked up.

[00:25:16] That's a brutal choice.

[00:25:17] Like, cause he, you know, he gets the lasso around her neck, which great accuracy on Titus' part.

[00:25:22] I'll give him that.

[00:25:23] He, he is quite the athlete, but then he starts pulling and you know, if the, if her house pulls to like keep her safe,

[00:25:32] they can't get the rope off.

[00:25:34] It's going to fucking snap her neck.

[00:25:36] Yeah.

[00:25:37] So yeah.

[00:25:39] Titus is just once again, proving himself grade a monster.

[00:25:44] And actually in this moment where he's extremely monstrous, they figure out that Titus didn't kill Priam.

[00:25:52] And now Cassius believes that he is the one who killed Julian, which is quite convenient for Darrow.

[00:26:00] Yeah.

[00:26:00] And Darrow, there was a grade a gaslighter in this book.

[00:26:04] All right.

[00:26:04] He, he really is stoking the flames between like Cassius and Titus.

[00:26:09] What I think is an interesting way or interesting part is we don't know who killed Priam.

[00:26:14] I mean, I know, I know we know who killed Priam, but the reader at this point does not know who killed Priam.

[00:26:20] And that's important.

[00:26:22] It's, it's important to know.

[00:26:24] I don't know if you remember.

[00:26:26] I don't quite remember, but I'm sure that once we get there, we'll, we'll, I'll remember.

[00:26:32] But I think it's interesting.

[00:26:34] Titus, he doesn't do a whole lot to get rid of those rumors that he's the one who killed Julian.

[00:26:41] He doesn't do much to try and convince anyone that it wasn't him.

[00:26:45] No, he, even though like, yeah, there is his claim where he said he killed Priam, but like logically that doesn't make sense.

[00:26:52] Cause the whole thing is that they want to pit up, they wouldn't pit like someone who's guaranteed to win that Titus against someone who got nepotism into the Institute.

[00:27:05] No, there's a better word for that, but we're going to go with that.

[00:27:09] Got Nepo babied into it.

[00:27:11] Yeah.

[00:27:12] Nepo baby.

[00:27:12] Sure.

[00:27:13] Nepo baby didn't the Institute.

[00:27:15] Like they wouldn't put him against someone who's obviously going to murder him.

[00:27:18] They would put him against someone else from like a lower house.

[00:27:21] Who's maybe like a little runt.

[00:27:24] Exactly.

[00:27:25] And Roke has a really good line here, which is blood begets blood begets blood.

[00:27:32] Just talking about that.

[00:27:34] Yep.

[00:27:35] Yeah.

[00:27:35] My, of course, I think that's a great quote.

[00:27:38] Don't get me wrong.

[00:27:39] But Lauren, our, our coast said it better with death begets death begets death.

[00:27:45] Yeah.

[00:27:46] I mean, I'm, I'm excited for when we get some Lorna Arcos.

[00:27:51] It's tough.

[00:27:52] He is a great character.

[00:27:54] And I really am.

[00:27:55] Very metal guy.

[00:27:57] But Titus cuts off a series slave's ear in front of the series castle as an intimidation tactic.

[00:28:03] In retribution for all of the fucking around that Titus is doing to put it nicely.

[00:28:09] Series gives Titus and his men loaves of bread, which they thought was tribute.

[00:28:14] And actually they had razor blades baked into them.

[00:28:17] When I read that, I was like, fuck yeah, I get, get that asshole Titus.

[00:28:21] Yeah.

[00:28:22] I liked that part of that was, I mean, they deserved it.

[00:28:25] This guy's a fucking asshole.

[00:28:26] And there's other stuff that we're going to talk about in a minute.

[00:28:29] That is even worse that he does.

[00:28:31] But again, you know, to each, it's everything in its own time.

[00:28:38] That's, that's what I was trying to say.

[00:28:39] Exactly.

[00:28:41] Titus retaliates against this whole razor blades in the bread shenanigans by bringing five slaves to the gate, giving four of them long wooden sticks and then commanding them to beat the fifth person.

[00:28:57] And that fifth person was none other than the one girl that he lassoed off the ramparts.

[00:29:04] This poor girl, like my God, man, she's just going through a meat grinder with fucking Titus.

[00:29:11] Surely that's the last of it though, right?

[00:29:15] Nope.

[00:29:16] Titus then, this is a little bit heavy.

[00:29:19] Um, so just a quick content warning for this, um, Titus then ties and gags her in front of the gate and has a female of house Mars scream that she's being raped, pretending to be the serious slave.

[00:29:36] And then the actual serious slave gets trampled by riders in the morning and most likely dies, but we don't know for sure.

[00:29:46] Yeah.

[00:29:46] They, the like med bots and stuff got her, but they, she never came back.

[00:29:52] So odds are if she's fucking dead or just not able to operate as a person anymore.

[00:30:00] Yeah.

[00:30:01] So I'm going to head cannon and say that she's living her best life recovering in the hospital right now from Titus and she'll make a full recovery and go back to normal life.

[00:30:13] But not, not sure if that's true or not.

[00:30:16] We're going to go with that though.

[00:30:17] I like that more than the, the other options.

[00:30:21] Yeah.

[00:30:22] And Titus and his raids, they're kind of at a standstill right now.

[00:30:26] He can't really do much more to house series.

[00:30:29] He's kind of struggling to get anything done.

[00:30:31] So he decides that he's going to turn his horrific fucked up gaze inwards towards his fellow heart, fellow house Mars people.

[00:30:42] Yeah.

[00:30:43] It's spreading.

[00:30:45] It is spreading.

[00:30:47] Not good.

[00:30:48] Not good.

[00:30:48] Not good.

[00:30:49] And that's the end of chapter 24.

[00:30:50] Any thoughts before we move on to the next one?

[00:30:53] I wish that that was the most fucked up thing that happened in this series.

[00:30:57] Honestly, unfortunately it's, it's just a consistent downhill spiral.

[00:31:03] I'd say the, actually it gets better after book five, book five, dark age truly is the darkest of the books.

[00:31:12] But yeah, we'll, we'll get to those eventually.

[00:31:17] Those are going to be some, some heavy episodes, I think.

[00:31:21] Yeah.

[00:31:21] It's, it's not great.

[00:31:23] I mean, it's, it's super well written, but Pierce like, Oh, for sure.

[00:31:27] Sometimes, sometimes the detail is a bit much, you know?

[00:31:31] Yeah.

[00:31:32] It's really, sometimes you don't need all that detail.

[00:31:36] Sometimes you can just have enough, like have a little bit of information and the rest can be off screen.

[00:31:41] You don't need to see the full, the full picture of what's happening in my opinion for a lot of things like that.

[00:31:47] But anyways.

[00:31:48] The thing I do appreciate though, is that he, he does not like writing torture scenes.

[00:31:52] So he doesn't write torture scenes.

[00:31:55] Yeah.

[00:31:56] And that I'm grateful.

[00:31:57] I'm grateful because he, even though he doesn't write them, he still like explains how they were tortured.

[00:32:04] He just doesn't go into too much detail.

[00:32:06] And like, if he went into detail, I think that it would just, the book would be too much at that point.

[00:32:13] I agree.

[00:32:14] And I think that in a lot of cases in TV shows or movies, books, whatever, when you have those really intense torture scenes or like violence against women or anything like that, they tend to be kind of overdone and just really unnecessary.

[00:32:32] Like we didn't need to see that whole depiction.

[00:32:36] I don't know.

[00:32:36] That's just my.

[00:32:38] I'm with you.

[00:32:39] It's, it can come across as like, you're just doing that for the sake of, of putting it in.

[00:32:46] And it doesn't feel that it's adding a whole lot of value to the story.

[00:32:50] But yeah.

[00:32:52] That brings us to chapter 25, tribal war, which we find out there's still no other signs or no sign of any of the other houses besides Ceres and Mars, which is concerning because there's what?

[00:33:06] 12 houses and they've only met one other house.

[00:33:09] Yeah.

[00:33:10] They're honestly, I'm kind of glad though, that they don't meet like they meet a lot of the houses, but they don't meet every single house and give us a rundown of the members.

[00:33:18] It's like a few notable members from each house.

[00:33:21] And that's it.

[00:33:22] I think adding that many people in would just be too much to like too much to manage, you know?

[00:33:28] Yeah.

[00:33:29] We don't need to have hundreds of characters.

[00:33:30] We don't need to know about the houses that get like taken out immediately.

[00:33:33] It's just, we don't need a lot.

[00:33:36] Yeah.

[00:33:36] I think there's four houses that got taken out pretty much immediately, which is great.

[00:33:41] Great job to that guy who did that.

[00:33:45] Yeah.

[00:33:45] Great job to our favorite Nevo baby in the Institute.

[00:33:49] Honestly, second favorite.

[00:33:52] True.

[00:33:53] True.

[00:33:54] Second favorite.

[00:33:54] I know who you're going to say.

[00:33:56] Yeah.

[00:33:56] Yeah.

[00:33:57] I'm going to say it.

[00:33:58] I love Mustang.

[00:34:00] She's so goaded.

[00:34:01] Yeah.

[00:34:02] Oh, I thought you were going to go with Cassius.

[00:34:04] Cassius isn't a Neppo baby.

[00:34:06] He, he made it from the Abolona family.

[00:34:09] He's a Neppo baby.

[00:34:10] But he made it into the Institute by taking the test.

[00:34:14] Listen, there's plenty of people in real life who are Neppo babies and still very good at what they do.

[00:34:22] Like Maya Hawk.

[00:34:23] Very good actress.

[00:34:24] I thought you were going to go with Jack Quaid.

[00:34:27] I mean, I could have, but I don't really like Dennis Quaid that much.

[00:34:31] So I wasn't going to, I wasn't going to go with him.

[00:34:34] Okay.

[00:34:34] Fair.

[00:34:35] But Jack Quaid is my favorite Neppo baby.

[00:34:37] IRL.

[00:34:38] I love Jack Quaid is, is a fantastic actor.

[00:34:40] That's a, yeah, that's another good example.

[00:34:42] Maya Hawk.

[00:34:42] Great actress.

[00:34:44] Neppo baby.

[00:34:45] Jack Quaid.

[00:34:46] Great actor, especially in the boys, which we have some coverage of on this channel.

[00:34:50] So if you are looking for that, go check it out.

[00:34:54] But Cassius and Darrow begin to scout outside of Castle Mars, leaving as they hear the screams of horror, which I'll give another content warning here for sexual violence.

[00:35:10] It's that it gets revealed that Titus has been raping the female slaves that he's taken from house series, which once again, he's such a monster, like absolutely awful guy.

[00:35:25] Yeah.

[00:35:26] Yeah.

[00:35:26] I, I will say given his backstory, if there wasn't so much extra violence, especially violence against women like this, you would almost feel for him.

[00:35:38] But thankfully, thankfully, like he knows how to write a good villain.

[00:35:43] Well, yeah.

[00:35:44] Sub villain, I guess he's not really the main, but.

[00:35:46] Yeah, you've got this guy who is doing all of these awful things and it's the, he was brought to this point of being awful by, I would say probably a combination of nature and nurture.

[00:36:00] But he definitely had a fucked up upbringing that led him to be this way, which is no excuse for him to do all of the things that he's done.

[00:36:09] But it does add some more complexity to that character, which is so much better than having a flat out villain.

[00:36:18] Yeah.

[00:36:19] I mean, he is a flat out villain.

[00:36:21] He is a flat out villain.

[00:36:22] But I, I like that he's not just evil for evil's sake.

[00:36:26] I hate villains who are just like, oh yeah, I'm evil because I felt like it.

[00:36:30] But I like villains who are like, like they were human at one point.

[00:36:35] Yeah.

[00:36:35] He's not just like a mustache twirling evil dude that's out here doing evil things because he wants to laugh evilly at the good people.

[00:36:44] Like, I don't know.

[00:36:45] It's just, it's a little bit more realistic of a story.

[00:36:48] And I, I appreciate that, especially from this book, because it could have easily gone the young adult trope way and just had one dimensional characters.

[00:36:59] Yeah.

[00:36:59] Even, I know we're getting into like spoiler territory, so I won't say too much, but even Nero Al Augustus has some fucking backstory that humanizes him.

[00:37:11] There really aren't, there's no one dimensional characters in this series that I can think of off the top of my head.

[00:37:17] But everyone has a little bit of complexity to them.

[00:37:19] So yeah, just great writing.

[00:37:22] Octavia doesn't have too much, but you're also like Octavia, as much as she's drawn up, like she's built up to be like so important.

[00:37:29] We don't get as much of her backstory and stuff.

[00:37:34] We, it's more about her in the present day.

[00:37:37] Yeah.

[00:37:38] I would say that she's in the point of the story where we find her.

[00:37:42] She's not so much a character as she is the embodiment of the concept of the Imperium of the society.

[00:37:51] Yes.

[00:37:51] I would not even consider her to be the final villain of the first trilogy.

[00:37:56] Yeah.

[00:37:57] It would be that one Nepo baby.

[00:37:59] It would be that one Nepo baby.

[00:38:02] Oh, that's very interesting.

[00:38:04] I know.

[00:38:05] Okay.

[00:38:06] I see.

[00:38:07] But yeah, they go back to their base after scouting it out, scouting out the situation.

[00:38:12] And they run into their old buddy Fitchner on the way, their proctor, if you don't remember that name.

[00:38:19] And Fitchner says that if they want it to stop Darrow and Cassius, they need to stop it themselves.

[00:38:26] No one's going to do it for them.

[00:38:27] They have to take action.

[00:38:29] And what is, what does Darrow do here?

[00:38:32] Darrow comes up with the first, honestly, it's a little baby one, but he comes up with the first ever Reaper plan.

[00:38:40] And Reaper plans, they're great.

[00:38:42] This one, kind of shit, because it doesn't even work.

[00:38:45] But I was just excited when I was writing the outline, because I did write this, of course, at three in the morning.

[00:38:51] And I saw Darrow.

[00:38:52] After building your Lego set?

[00:38:54] Uh, yes.

[00:38:55] After building my Lego set.

[00:38:56] And so, like, obviously, I was just hyped to see Darrow coming up with a plan, man.

[00:39:01] I love Darrow plans.

[00:39:03] Darrow plans are great.

[00:39:04] Uh, Quinn then proceeds to deliver an apology to Antonia, but gets kidnapped by Titus.

[00:39:13] And Cassius went to go get her back after she gets kidnapped by Titus, which is, um...

[00:39:19] I wonder how that's going to go.

[00:39:22] Um, not great.

[00:39:25] So they both...

[00:39:26] They both get out, of course.

[00:39:29] Cassius comes back, though, and he is bloody.

[00:39:31] He's broken.

[00:39:32] And he reveals that they all...

[00:39:34] All of Titus' men got in a circle around him.

[00:39:36] And they pissed on him.

[00:39:38] It's kind of nasty.

[00:39:40] Yeah, after he returns from that really, really awful and humiliating turn of events,

[00:39:48] we learn one of Titus' men actually set him free, which...

[00:39:51] Do we know if this is someone who has some leanings towards maybe siding with Titus and Cassius?

[00:39:57] Or leaning towards siding with Darrow and Cassius?

[00:40:00] Um, I believe that this guy or girl...

[00:40:04] I don't know.

[00:40:04] This person does join their side once events happen.

[00:40:09] But I couldn't give you specifics, because they don't...

[00:40:12] I don't even think they get a name.

[00:40:14] Mm-hmm.

[00:40:15] Interesting.

[00:40:15] If it was a named character, then it's someone who isn't...

[00:40:21] Whose name is not used after the first book.

[00:40:24] I could tell you that.

[00:40:25] Right.

[00:40:25] Because there are quite a few.

[00:40:26] Like, I don't even remember which ones die and aren't important, because people do die, unfortunately.

[00:40:33] Or fortunately.

[00:40:35] Some of them it's fortunately.

[00:40:36] But there are...

[00:40:37] I don't even know if it's someone who died, or if it's just someone who went off to go do unimportant things

[00:40:43] because they weren't that great in the Institute.

[00:40:46] Yeah, for sure.

[00:40:47] And Cassius is at his all-time low, and Rogue sort of explains to Darrow that Cassius' dream in life

[00:40:56] is to be an Olympic knight.

[00:40:59] And Cassius, he's got some rage in him at this moment, and he declares that he's going to be the one to end Titus.

[00:41:06] Yeah.

[00:41:07] Yeah.

[00:41:08] He really is very headstrong, and that plays into his whole wanting to be an Olympic knight.

[00:41:16] I think we went over the Olympic knights in an earlier episode, but they're so cool.

[00:41:20] Yeah.

[00:41:21] I think we went over them in our, like...

[00:41:23] I don't think we did a preview episode, but yeah, our first episode.

[00:41:27] Yeah.

[00:41:29] Cassius wants to be an Olympic knight, and I just think they're so cool.

[00:41:33] I'm not going to make this into a huge tangent, but my favorite Olympic knight is the fear knight.

[00:41:40] Tangent away, Richard.

[00:41:42] Tell us all about him.

[00:41:43] I can't.

[00:41:44] Because he's been plotting stuff for years, and he's currently plotting stuff, actually, where we're at.

[00:41:52] But we don't know about him.

[00:41:53] He's you when we play Crusader Kings, always plotting against everyone.

[00:41:58] I am plotting against everyone in Crusader Kings.

[00:42:00] It's not my fault.

[00:42:01] I'm playing Sauron, all right?

[00:42:02] Like, it's like putting on a ring of power.

[00:42:05] I am just tainted as soon as I play as him.

[00:42:09] But, no.

[00:42:10] The fear knight, throughout history, whoever kills the fear knight gets to be called the man who slayed fear.

[00:42:16] And I think that that is such an awesome moniker.

[00:42:20] I would rather be the man who slayed fear than the fear knight.

[00:42:24] Yeah.

[00:42:24] I think the storm knight is cooler, though.

[00:42:27] I always like any sort of moniker having to do with storm.

[00:42:31] Like, I don't know.

[00:42:32] I think there's a lot of those in Game of Thrones because they have the storm lands.

[00:42:36] And so there's like the laughing storm or the storm king or like all of this.

[00:42:43] All those different monikers.

[00:42:44] You'd love the storm light archive, buddy.

[00:42:46] You know who one of the main characters is?

[00:42:49] What?

[00:42:49] Kaladin Stormblessed.

[00:42:52] Oh.

[00:42:52] And the whole mythology in that series is based around the storm father.

[00:42:58] That's one of their gods.

[00:43:00] So, he's literally blessed by the gods is what that means.

[00:43:04] I love Kaladin Stormblessed.

[00:43:06] That's sick.

[00:43:07] Yeah.

[00:43:07] I got to get on those books for sure.

[00:43:09] Yeah.

[00:43:10] Yeah.

[00:43:10] I'll get to them.

[00:43:11] You better.

[00:43:12] Well, once you get to Cosmere, like then it opens up into like 40 books you got to read.

[00:43:16] So, save that for after Red Rising.

[00:43:20] I'll have to pop down to my favorite local bookstore and grab it.

[00:43:25] Yeah.

[00:43:26] Shout out Kramer's in DC.

[00:43:28] Kramer.

[00:43:28] I'm a Barnes & Noble shill.

[00:43:32] Yeah.

[00:43:34] That's because there's no locally owned bookstores in our area though.

[00:43:38] We literally only have a Barnes & Noble in Buffalo.

[00:43:42] We actually have three.

[00:43:45] I've been to all three every three weeks for the last year almost.

[00:43:50] Not year.

[00:43:51] Six months looking for Dark Age and I finally got it today.

[00:43:54] I'm so happy.

[00:43:55] My collection is complete.

[00:43:57] Meanwhile, I live in a city that has the most independent bookstores in America.

[00:44:02] So, I always like to go and support those instead of the big companies when I can.

[00:44:08] I mean, you know me.

[00:44:10] I don't like supporting massive companies that much, but I kind of have to unfortunately.

[00:44:14] Yeah.

[00:44:15] Yeah.

[00:44:15] You don't have too much of a choice.

[00:44:17] Your options are Barnes & Noble and Amazon.

[00:44:21] Yeah, but I'll give to Barnes & Noble before I give to Amazon, even though I am an Audible subscriber.

[00:44:25] So, I am giving to Amazon there.

[00:44:28] I pay for Prime every month, so I can't really say anything.

[00:44:33] Yeah.

[00:44:34] I'm not a scumbag.

[00:44:35] I don't pay for Prime.

[00:44:36] My mom does.

[00:44:37] I just bought some dashi packets on Prime and I'm going to make some miso soup when those come in.

[00:44:45] Ooh.

[00:44:47] I've been doing so much cooking lately.

[00:44:48] It's been a lot of fun having a full kitchen again.

[00:44:52] Yeah.

[00:44:52] I went to a meat raffle yesterday for Pat's.

[00:44:55] It was a fundraiser for his volleyball team.

[00:44:58] Oh, so?

[00:44:59] I won like a five pound pork roast.

[00:45:04] So, when am I eating all of that?

[00:45:07] Well, it depends.

[00:45:09] If I can make the recipe I want to make today, then you're not.

[00:45:14] But if I don't make it today and I make it next Sunday instead, there will be enough leftovers.

[00:45:20] Okay.

[00:45:21] I think I'll just make it next Sunday so that like...

[00:45:24] Or maybe I just make it next Friday for the thing that we're having.

[00:45:29] And I could do like pulled pork with it, actually.

[00:45:31] You're going to want to cut this out, by the way.

[00:45:35] I'll leave it in.

[00:45:36] The folks can listen to our pulled pork plans.

[00:45:39] Yeah.

[00:45:41] But no, I'll have to see.

[00:45:42] Because I would like to do pulled pork, actually, now that I think of it, instead of the recipe that I currently was thinking.

[00:45:48] Yeah.

[00:45:49] This has been a very cooking-centric episode.

[00:45:52] We've been talking about pulled pork, miso soup, and pumpkin cookies.

[00:45:56] And Titus eating raw meat.

[00:45:57] Well, that's not cooking, but that's like about why you should cook.

[00:46:02] Yeah.

[00:46:03] And before we like wrap things up, I did want to say that we've been talking a little bit over here on our team.

[00:46:10] And we think that we might get a Patreon set up soon.

[00:46:15] Which we just want to have the framework in place so that we can get out early and add free podcasts to people.

[00:46:24] Especially before some of our bigger shows like Invincible come out, we're very much right now in an in-between phase.

[00:46:31] So, you know, we don't expect a lot of people to want recurring subscriptions because it's very loose content right now.

[00:46:38] We don't have a super big plan because there's not a lot of shows or things coming out now that we have a lot to say about.

[00:46:45] But we just wanted to get that out there and kind of get started with that.

[00:46:51] So, more news to come on that, but we have been thinking about that for a while and talking about getting that up and running.

[00:46:57] I was not privy to this discussion beforehand.

[00:47:00] I know this was more you and Chase cooking this up.

[00:47:02] It was.

[00:47:03] Talking about it at the kitchen table.

[00:47:05] Oh, that's nice.

[00:47:06] We don't have the kitchen table.

[00:47:08] Oh, fuck.

[00:47:09] I almost fell out of my chair.

[00:47:12] That's staying in the podcast.

[00:47:13] Don't cut it out.

[00:47:14] That was fun.

[00:47:17] But, Richard, do you want to let people know how they can get a hold of us?

[00:47:21] I'd love to.

[00:47:22] This is where I shine and I'm not going to fuck it up.

[00:47:26] Yeah, that's what you always say.

[00:47:27] I know, right?

[00:47:29] But first off, we'd like to just say thank you for listening.

[00:47:31] We appreciate it, obviously.

[00:47:34] We love yapping.

[00:47:35] And if anyone wants to hear us yap, that's great.

[00:47:38] You know, it's what we do.

[00:47:40] But we have our email set up that Aaron has finally given us all access to, which is radioactive at thelorehounds.com.

[00:47:49] We have a channel set up for radioactive ramblings within the Lorehounds Discord server.

[00:47:53] You could send us messages, chat about the show, you know, sort of whatever.

[00:47:56] We also have a contact form or you could leave us a voicemail at thelorehounds.com.

[00:48:01] And we now have a Blue Sky account at Radioactive141.

[00:48:06] We also would appreciate a rating on Apple Podcasts.

[00:48:09] And before we let you all go, I did want to take a moment to shout out some of the podcasts that we're affiliated with because we are proud members of the Barovian Broadcasting Network, which is run by the Lorehounds.

[00:48:21] The Lorehounds is our parent podcast, and they actually just finished up their coverage of Agatha All Along, which they graciously invited me on for the wrap-up episode.

[00:48:30] So expect that coming out very soon if it's not already out, and give that a listen.

[00:48:34] They also have coverage of Dune Prophecy coming up next now that Agatha All Along is over, so stay tuned if you are into Dune or any sort of sci-fi.

[00:48:43] Speaking of sci-fi shows that are coming out that are really fantastic, the new season of Silo just started, and Alicia over at Wool Shift Dust and her co-hosts, they're going to be covering Silo in full.

[00:48:55] They have screeners, so the episodes are going to be coming out really soon after the actual episode drops on Apple TV+.

[00:49:02] Go check that out. Her podcast started with Silo, which is where the name Wool Shift Dust comes from, and she's just fantastic over there.

[00:49:09] Go give her Silo coverage a listen.

[00:49:11] Properly Howard movie review, which rates movies on a scale of better or worse than a Ron Howard movie, is doing a little bit of Penguin coverage.

[00:49:19] They released a season beginning episode, and then they just released a season wrap-up.

[00:49:24] And on their season wrap-up, they mentioned that they had coverage plans coming for a new season of Properly Howard in full, so stay tuned for that.

[00:49:33] And I believe that Marilyn over at Rings and Rituals with Dr. Sarah Brown are currently on hiatus, but they'll have some news probably fairly soon on the Rings of Power front, so stay tuned for that.

[00:49:48] And Alicia also has the Star Wars Canon Timeline podcast, which is going to be coming back very soon.

[00:49:54] So give that a listen.

[00:49:56] And last but not least, the newest addition to the network, Nevermind the Music, where Mark and Nicole talk about the different themes in music,

[00:50:04] and they just have a really accessible show for listeners like me who don't know a whole lot about music.

[00:50:10] And it's also super entertaining.

[00:50:12] They're two very funny individuals.

[00:50:14] They have a great rapport with one another, so go check that out.

[00:50:17] Links to all of these shows, as well as information on how to get a hold of us, it's going to be in our show notes.

[00:50:23] So go pop on down to the show notes, and you can find easy access to any of this.

[00:50:29] Thank you all for listening, and we hope that you join us for the next episode.
