[00:00:58] That's Sarah. So we've been working with you Alicia. I think you and I met on Twitter

[00:01:05] originally during Rings of Power. Yes, I remember that. You said we should invite her on a

[00:01:10] Still Merlion story and we hadn't really done guest yet and I was like oh I don't know,

[00:01:14] I'm so nervous to bring on new people right away but then we just brought John.

[00:01:19] I don't remember what we brought you on for. I think Mandalorian first?

[00:01:22] Because I was sending in voicemails for the Mandalorian.

[00:01:30] You continued to impress with your knowledge and your skill and your

[00:01:36] natural podcast and you had been wanting to move into podcasting for a while prior to us even

[00:01:43] connecting with you right? Right, well I was making plans because it's not the greatest

[00:01:48] time to work in text. Shaking the fist at AI in the sky.

[00:01:55] Actually my original idea was the Star Wars Canon Timeline podcast that I just launched.

[00:02:03] I'm excited to be doing it. Just recorded another episode with Bob.

[00:02:08] Then I decided I needed to practice before that so I started Wool Shift Us. I was like okay

[00:02:13] Luke and I had been talking about covering Westworld but then it got cancelled.

[00:02:23] We ended up going with this silo adaptation coming out. I love this book,

[00:02:28] I have a feeling you'll love this book. It's cool that you haven't read it and I have.

[00:02:32] That was launched as okay let's learn the ropes of this podcasting thing and then it

[00:02:37] grew into its own thing on its own. I was fortunate enough that you guys saw something in

[00:02:43] it that you invited me to become a part of the network and it grew from there.

[00:02:50] We started chatting with you more on the Discord and on Twitter and then having your

[00:02:55] voicemails and then actually having you on guest podcasts. It's been a while now that

[00:03:02] we've been working and I think just the trust and the relationship has just grown over time to

[00:03:08] the point that John and I were kind of looking at each other and going why isn't she a full

[00:03:14] lore hound? It kind of makes sense to not have her. That was exactly what I was thinking.

[00:03:19] The question turns from why bring her on to why not bring her on so then we're just like

[00:03:24] okay let's figure this out. Really the only reason why not to bring her on is

[00:03:29] we have to do some paperwork and then so we did the paperwork and here we are.

[00:03:34] Yeah and so the kind of agreement that we came to make sure that you're going to have a

[00:03:42] full share in what profits there are in this business. We're not the ringer so but then

[00:03:50] we've got it yeah we did all the background stuff so that you have all the rights and

[00:03:56] responsibilities and proceeds from being a full host. So that means you'll be joining us on

[00:04:04] second breakfast. It means you'll have a lore hound email address and access to all those

[00:04:09] resources. We'll make you administrator on the discord server and you can be on the feed as a

[00:04:17] full voice. We always had an internal rule that John and I could pursue little side projects

[00:04:24] and have other guests if we didn't want to cover a particular show or topic. The other could

[00:04:29] could go on but our feed the main lore hound feed always had one of us on it so there was

[00:04:34] a kind of consistency to it. And so now with you there as well you can do that as well.

[00:04:39] So you know if you want to I think you and Bob are going to maybe cover x-men.

[00:04:44] Well I mean uh whatever the topic is yeah you can be on the podcast. I actually I haven't

[00:04:50] mentioned it to him yet because it's no it's uh because John and I would would be covering

[00:04:57] it but it's John might not be available. Yeah and there's no reason. Yeah right we love John.

[00:05:03] But the point is we do uh the point being is is that you are gonna have some authorial

[00:05:10] control over what you want to put out. No I immediately was like please

[00:05:14] kingdom of the apes and interview with the vampire.

[00:05:18] You are fully within your rights to do that and I have zero interest in either of those.

[00:05:24] Fair fine you're missing out. So are I guess from a uh political governance standpoint are

[00:05:30] we a triarchy? Is that inaccurate? Oh yes. I like it. Do we get like a crown of uh of

[00:05:38] what kind of leaves is it olive leaves? Or I would say or bone in driftwood. I don't know

[00:05:42] we'll have to okay right you know we were just watching yeah episode three it was of uh we've

[00:05:48] got to find some general that has grayscale though. How are we gonna do that? You're gonna

[00:05:53] have to go out and defeat uh your enemy in single combat. So yeah or just drown and be

[00:06:00] reborn. Oh that too yeah even better yeah you've got an ocean nearby you could go do that.

[00:06:07] So Alicia are you ready to give your uh inauguration speech?

[00:06:12] Yeah I joked before we started the camera I joked that uh I composed a poem for each

[00:06:18] letter in each of their names. Because we were joking that this was going to be a short podcast

[00:06:24] and we never do short podcasts but this is actually probably gonna be a short one. Yeah

[00:06:28] yeah I mean there's um there's not a whole lot to say just that I'm really looking

[00:06:34] forward to it and I hope that uh listeners are happy to hear it just means that we can do more.

[00:06:43] I think that became apparent to the last couple of months when I got COVID and then I've been on

[00:06:48] a slow recovery and then John had some other stuff happening with his family and so

[00:06:54] we really felt the oh what if you know both of us so having three people and you were of

[00:06:57] course you were great you were there for showgun coverage with us uh and that that really made

[00:07:02] a difference and I think that was really when it became apparent oh yeah we should proceed with

[00:07:06] this without much more delay. It is time that kind of thing. And then we've got Acolyte because

[00:07:12] you've been waiting for the Acolyte for a while now right? Right well now I've been

[00:07:15] timing the Star Wars podcast to coincide with it yeah. That's right and yeah I've been

[00:07:21] excited for it but yeah but David you're lukewarm on this it seems like. The Acolyte I am

[00:07:27] neutral. I reserve the right to be able to drop in any on any pod at any time while you're recording

[00:07:34] but I am happy to you know because I'd be watching it as a normal fan just as oh you

[00:07:40] know Ahsoka Mandalorian you know it's all good where Alicia I think your affinity for

[00:07:46] what's happening in this not only in this universe but in this timeline I think you're

[00:07:51] really excited about it. Yeah because it's a new point in the timeline that even in Legends

[00:07:57] The High Republic wasn't much covered and there's been this new series of books coming out so

[00:08:02] yeah we talk about all of that of course in the Canon Timeline podcast but um it's just

[00:08:06] it's opening new doors to not everything has to be about the skywalkers okay I love the

[00:08:12] skywalkers but right there's more to Star Wars and we're finally exploring another part

[00:08:18] of the universe and I love a good right the vibes look good from the uh from the trailers

[00:08:24] yeah and I think John and I had been talking about this a little bit too as we've matured and

[00:08:30] grown with the podcast it becomes very important I think to individual podcasters that we don't feel

[00:08:39] like we're on the content mill right we have to constantly churn out content which is a

[00:08:45] trap that a lot of youtubers and other podcasters get into and so then you're covering

[00:08:50] things that aren't interesting to you and you're you're producing content that you're

[00:08:54] uninspired by and that I think is antithetical a little bit to what we are here for and what

[00:09:01] we want to do and why we enjoy what we're doing and so if we're able to um take on

[00:09:08] different things that are really that we're passionate about individually it gives us we can

[00:09:13] cover things is no problem but we're not feeling that burnout and that stress of

[00:09:17] oh god we've got to we've got to do another podcast right you got to you know right

[00:09:20] what's also great with the you know having more affiliates in the fold too

[00:09:25] is for example radioactive ramblings I love fallouts I love invincible I called invincible not

[00:09:33] only some of the best animation but animated storytelling but some of the best storytelling

[00:09:37] over all of the year but I don't have the knowledge and deepest passion about it to cover

[00:09:44] it so it's so great that there are other people who do you know and I can listen to that and we

[00:09:50] can complement each other in that way yeah exactly and we were looking at the boys and

[00:09:55] it was like oh my god how are we going to do this with the acolyte and house of the dragon

[00:09:58] and right fortunately they're there and Marilyn and when when uh war the roar rim comes or a

[00:10:05] season two of rings of power you know that's going to be great because Marilyn's going to

[00:10:09] be really active and involved and when we get the DC and MCU stuff churning out you and

[00:10:14] jaune will be able to and yeah yeah I think everyone can have their little corner you

[00:10:19] know yeah I'm doing all the Tolkien stuff we have we have a guest going on with that

[00:10:24] because David has sailed off into the west and uh and Alicia I think you might come on

[00:10:29] some Meridian stories soon yes I am gonna catch up and yeah because I also love that

[00:10:34] as well it's not not enough to host my own podcast about it but enough to

[00:10:39] tell you why I love it on yours fair enough I'm actually working on some interesting ideas too

[00:10:44] some movie stuff I really want to get into some of the the great old sci-fi movies that are real

[00:10:49] canon cornerstone things talking with Ron a little bit about that the 21st 25th anniversary

[00:10:55] of the movie alien is coming up so yeah you know and the new alien movies coming out that's

[00:11:01] right that one yeah yep and dune like I've got ideas for doing because you know Alicia you and

[00:11:07] I have to do our first three hour podcast together so I'll organize it don't worry

[00:11:13] I'll do the outline for that one so exciting stuff ahead you know Alicia is a full lore
