House of the Dragon - S03E07 - A Dragon in Winter

David and Jean cover the penultimate episode, packed with small scenes and big questions about power. The dragon fight gets its due, from the direction and CGI to what the outcome means for every rider involved. Helena's dream sequences get a close reading, with the pale horse, the eclipse, and the snow pointing toward Game of Thrones' final chapter in ways the community is already debating. Daemon's plea for his daughter's life marks a genuine moment of growth, while the Rhaena's storyline draws pointed criticism from both hosts, who feel the show has sidelined her agency in service of someone else's character arc.

01:17 --> 01:18 [UNKNOWN]: Like you gotta be subscribed for a long time.
01:18 --> 01:22 [UNKNOWN]: If you just wanna throw in for the show for a couple of weeks or whatever, totally cool.

01:58 --> 02:00 [UNKNOWN]: We have a very robust Discord
02:02 --> 02:05 [UNKNOWN]: surrounding this show.
02:05 --> 02:07 [UNKNOWN]: It's quite a good time.
02:08 --> 02:18 [UNKNOWN]: Lots of people with lots of good information and you know everybody's charming and what they like, what they don't like, what works, what doesn't work and what they hope to see.
02:19 --> 02:20 [UNKNOWN]: So please join us.
02:21 --> 02:28 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, Nancy, our hand to the pod dropped into the discord channel today, and she posted in the production chat.
02:28 --> 02:30 [UNKNOWN]: She was like, oh my god, there's over 200 messages.
02:31 --> 02:31 [UNKNOWN]: I'm so proud.
02:31 --> 02:32 [UNKNOWN]: I'm so proud.
02:32 --> 02:35 [UNKNOWN]: It was this episode that garnered so much.
02:35 --> 02:35 [UNKNOWN]: Me too.
02:35 --> 02:39 [UNKNOWN]: Because I was like, hmm, I don't know about this episode, and man, people were...
02:40 --> 02:40 [UNKNOWN]: people were jumping in.
02:41 --> 02:44 [UNKNOWN]: I think for this week, we're going to do feedback on Thursday.
02:45 --> 02:51 [UNKNOWN]: We're a day later than we normally record just because of life schedules, but I think Thursday night we're going to go for it.
02:51 --> 02:52 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, yeah, Thursday night, Thursday night.
02:53 --> 02:59 [UNKNOWN]: So you got your time to get your messages in, I don't post them on the Patreon, send us your voice mail.
03:00 --> 03:00 [UNKNOWN]: It's all good.
03:00 --> 03:06 [UNKNOWN]: Nancy will collect them all and boy, there's just no way we could go through all this disc, all these messages
03:09 --> 03:10 [UNKNOWN]: from the community.
03:11 --> 03:11 [UNKNOWN]: Thank you.
03:11 --> 03:12 [UNKNOWN]: She's also working on the show guide.
03:12 --> 03:18 [UNKNOWN]: If you're subscriber, you get the show guide, which gives you a rundown on all the characters in a non-spoiler or away.
03:18 --> 03:19 [UNKNOWN]: The dragon stuff.
03:19 --> 03:20 [UNKNOWN]: It's really great.
03:20 --> 03:21 [UNKNOWN]: It's a mobile device too.
03:22 --> 03:29 [UNKNOWN]: You can look up really easily, uh, try to remember who an actor is or character's name or how to spell a character's name.
03:29 --> 03:32 [UNKNOWN]: Oh my god, this spelling in this show is terrible.
03:32 --> 03:33 [UNKNOWN]: I'm a terrible speller to begin with and it's like
03:39 --> 03:49 [UNKNOWN]: And of course it is hot lore summer too hot to lore wrapping up the stock coverage deep into the silo I started to catch up that I watch one or two episodes.
03:50 --> 03:55 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah catching up I think I must have missed the end of the last season because there were some stuff.
03:56 --> 03:56 [UNKNOWN]: What's going on?
03:56 --> 03:57 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah you have to do that.
03:57 --> 04:01 [UNKNOWN]: They just drop us in C2 like in media res I think so.
04:02 --> 04:04 [UNKNOWN]: Um, anyway, I was like, okay, I just roll with it.
04:04 --> 04:05 [UNKNOWN]: It's all good.
04:05 --> 04:07 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I'm caught up in your garage.
04:08 --> 04:10 [UNKNOWN]: This is doing something to my mind.
04:10 --> 04:11 [UNKNOWN]: Is bending.
04:11 --> 04:12 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, it's been rain.
04:12 --> 04:14 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, it's trying to Jedi mind trick me.
04:15 --> 04:17 [UNKNOWN]: It's not going very fair enough.
04:17 --> 04:19 [UNKNOWN]: We've got some Ted Lasso happening.
04:19 --> 04:22 [UNKNOWN]: I think John and I are going to do some short form coverage on that.
04:22 --> 04:26 [UNKNOWN]: John has got his cosmic coverage, cosmic corner coverage, uh, happened in that school.
04:27 --> 04:30 [UNKNOWN]: And I think last week, I was giving you a little bit of a hard time last week about super
04:31 --> 04:47 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, yeah, whatever, you know, that's that was viewing John and I so if anybody was like, oh, man, you know, because Alicia is working hard right now and she's getting coverage done and she's like scoring wins all over the place on keep in the podcast rolling.
04:48 --> 04:50 [UNKNOWN]: So super girl is coming hang tight.
04:51 --> 04:53 [UNKNOWN]: to go, we did the pod.
04:53 --> 04:54 [UNKNOWN]: No, it's okay, cool, cool.
04:54 --> 04:57 [UNKNOWN]: So now it's in the editing, you know, things.
04:57 --> 05:06 [UNKNOWN]: So, but if you, yeah, give some, if you see Alicia online or whatever, give her a little love, give her a little shout out because she is, she's more than dread and water.
05:06 --> 05:11 [UNKNOWN]: She's, she's, I don't know, I'm trying to find the appropriate metaphor for working hard and crushing it.
05:11 --> 05:11 [UNKNOWN]: So,
05:13 --> 05:18 [UNKNOWN]: John today's episode is a bit of a goofy timeline.
05:18 --> 05:22 [UNKNOWN]: There were so many tiny little cut scenes and we're jumping here and there at a little bit of stuff.
05:23 --> 05:27 [UNKNOWN]: So I think I've kind of got it organized.
05:27 --> 05:33 [UNKNOWN]: We'll talk a bunch of the little stuff at the beginning, just little scenes that are going to be completely out of order.
05:34 --> 05:42 [UNKNOWN]: then I think we'll focus in on the red keep, then we'll talk around hair and haul, check in on Brooks Rest, and then we'll wrap it up with Tumbleton.
05:42 --> 05:44 [UNKNOWN]: So I think that's why we're going to roll.
05:45 --> 05:53 [UNKNOWN]: Speaking of, um, jumbled up episodes, where are you at with the penultimate here?
05:53 --> 05:59 [UNKNOWN]: I wasn't sure if they were going to give us the big battle this one, or if they were going to do some more table setting,
06:00 --> 06:07 [UNKNOWN]: I got some mixed feelings about this episode, there's a lot I liked and then I was like a couple things I had me scratching my chin, so where were you at?
06:07 --> 06:11 [UNKNOWN]: Well, we're going into the final episode, right?
06:11 --> 06:11 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
06:12 --> 06:15 [UNKNOWN]: So I'm guessing it's going to be like two, two and a half hours.
06:16 --> 06:17 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, that's a good point.
06:18 --> 06:18 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, damn.
06:18 --> 06:21 [UNKNOWN]: Because they think about that.
06:21 --> 06:24 [UNKNOWN]: There's no way they can wrap up everything that they've
06:27 --> 06:37 [UNKNOWN]: that they can wrap up everything that they've been talking about up to this point in our 70 minutes, hour and 10 minutes, hour and five minutes.
06:37 --> 06:38 [UNKNOWN]: It's impossible.
06:38 --> 06:38 [UNKNOWN]: I just can't see it.
06:39 --> 06:40 [UNKNOWN]: And it's a battle.
06:40 --> 06:41 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, and give us a battle.
06:41 --> 06:52 [UNKNOWN]: So there has to be this has to be a super charge, super difficult episode that we're about to get for this final, um, for the finale.
06:58 --> 07:03 [UNKNOWN]: Let me just say, A-Mond is such a creep.
07:04 --> 07:14 [UNKNOWN]: And the thing is, he's such a creep, and I know he's a creep, but do we have to keep seeing that he's a creep?
07:14 --> 07:14 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
07:15 --> 07:15 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
07:15 --> 07:16 [UNKNOWN]: At this point.
07:16 --> 07:18 [UNKNOWN]: Do we really need to go to that point?
07:19 --> 07:19 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
07:19 --> 07:21 [UNKNOWN]: Still, again and again and again and again.
07:22 --> 07:22 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
07:22 --> 07:24 [UNKNOWN]: You've driven home the point.
07:25 --> 07:26 [UNKNOWN]: We get it.
07:27 --> 07:52 [UNKNOWN]: now it's hard to just you know he's a story a lot yeah he's up on that and and see what the character can do outside of that creep shit that he's always seems to be thinking about the rena story that is a big fail for me I think this is the
07:53 --> 07:54 [UNKNOWN]: This is the plot.
07:55 --> 08:02 [UNKNOWN]: This is the storyline that ultimately dings this season for me.
08:02 --> 08:06 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, yeah, rather harshly, right?
08:06 --> 08:09 [UNKNOWN]: I think they did not handle this well at all.
08:11 --> 08:18 [UNKNOWN]: I'm concerned as to how that particular storyline will wrap up.
08:19 --> 08:20 [UNKNOWN]: And I just,
08:21 --> 08:27 [UNKNOWN]: and really disappointed in the way that the story was told and how it's been handled, how her character's been handled.
08:28 --> 08:40 [UNKNOWN]: And yeah, they're going to have to do some really good things with this character for me to feel good about where the stories that her story is at.
08:41 --> 08:46 [UNKNOWN]: Um, if I can just, you know, because this was also one of my points.
08:50 --> 08:53 [UNKNOWN]: Reina's story like, I know a little bit about the books.
08:53 --> 08:59 [UNKNOWN]: I won't mix in the book knowledge here at this point, because I think we'll see that for some bookbitch and on Thursday.
08:59 --> 08:59 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
09:00 --> 09:17 [UNKNOWN]: But what little I know, and I said, the other week, like I'm glad I'm not a book reader, but regardless of not knowing that, just regarding, you know, setting that aside and just looking at what they started to set up and the direction that we were kind of going in.
09:18 --> 09:35 [UNKNOWN]: with Reina making this sort of comeback and doing something cool and she's working out her feelings and taking some action and actually having some agency and being a three-dimensional character, I feel like they just thrown all of that away.
09:35 --> 09:36 [UNKNOWN]: I agree.
09:37 --> 09:41 [UNKNOWN]: Where is with Damon's storyline, he's got a really cool arc.
09:41 --> 09:44 [UNKNOWN]: I like the big trajectory of it.
09:45 --> 10:10 [UNKNOWN]: And they could have brought those two arcs together in this moment, and instead, they, they zagged, and I'm not opposed to a zag ever, but it just feels like they just cheapened her as a character when they started to build her up as to be finally something interesting was going on for her and with her.
10:11 --> 10:21 [UNKNOWN]: and a real, you know, going through a real dark night of the soul and and working through it and then finding some fulfillment in something and then finding some meaning and then trying to make that come to fruition.
10:21 --> 10:25 [UNKNOWN]: It just feels like they just, they just, they just nerfed her.
10:26 --> 10:28 [UNKNOWN]: Like, what's the comic book thing?
10:29 --> 10:36 [UNKNOWN]: When you fridge a character, I know it's not fridgeing a character, but it feels like that where they're just like, well, we're just going to box this up and make
10:40 --> 10:41 [UNKNOWN]: It is, I'm sure, changed the character.
10:41 --> 10:43 [UNKNOWN]: I think it is similar to Friging.
10:44 --> 10:51 [UNKNOWN]: Friging refers to a female character that is killed so for the growth of a male character.
10:52 --> 10:52 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, comics.
10:53 --> 11:00 [UNKNOWN]: She hasn't died, but it seems like her story has only been to fulfill Damon's growth as a character.
11:01 --> 11:03 [UNKNOWN]: And I liked the character that he has grown.
11:03 --> 11:04 [UNKNOWN]: But he doesn't need it.
11:05 --> 11:06 [UNKNOWN]: He doesn't need this.
11:06 --> 11:28 [UNKNOWN]: for that growth he could have been they could have tied them together and then they could have gone somewhere really interesting with with father and daughter right right but we're not there we're not at that at all and the thing is when you brought up Damon what I thought was like they don't they they are treating him as a main character yep and they're treating
11:33 --> 11:46 [UNKNOWN]: There's nothing compelling about her story at this point, at all, at least for me, you know, maybe other people can point to something that they find that they happen to like.
11:46 --> 11:51 [UNKNOWN]: But there's elements that we like, but the arc is, yes, the story.
11:52 --> 11:56 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I'm really disappointed in this.
11:56 --> 12:03 [UNKNOWN]: And the last thing I'll say, two more things I'll say actually, you know, poor Alan, you should have seen it coming.
12:06 --> 12:11 [UNKNOWN]: You know, bro, I mean, you got to shoot your shot earlier, you know what I'm saying?
12:12 --> 12:16 [UNKNOWN]: You, you, you riding the dragons, you in the skies with homegirl.
12:17 --> 12:25 [UNKNOWN]: You kind of say something and then on, so I feel bad for Alan, and then also, I mean.
12:26 --> 12:30 [UNKNOWN]: The reason that this entire episode of the exists is for the dragons.
12:30 --> 12:31 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
12:31 --> 12:37 [UNKNOWN]: There's no point in this entire episode solely supports the dragons.
12:37 --> 12:40 [UNKNOWN]: This is about the dragons.
12:40 --> 12:53 [UNKNOWN]: From the battle to Helena's dream, this is squarely about the dragons and put in the dragons at the forefront of the story.
12:57 --> 13:02 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, and yeah, we'll we'll talk about that scene for sure and that was definitely one of the highlights.
13:03 --> 13:17 [UNKNOWN]: for me as well, the CGI, the choreography, the way the dragons themselves, their characters, it all made the fight made sense, like it all, you know, that conflict all worked really well.
13:18 --> 13:25 [UNKNOWN]: So I give, there's like, like I was saying, there's like a lot that I enjoyed in this episode, and then there's some other stuff.
13:25 --> 13:28 [UNKNOWN]: I was like, ah, and with you on, do we need the grossness?
13:29 --> 13:38 [UNKNOWN]: We just don't need any more incest, we don't need any more sexual assaults that we just don't, it doesn't help the story you need further.
13:39 --> 13:41 [UNKNOWN]: I get it, he's got mommy issues, that's fine.
13:41 --> 13:47 [UNKNOWN]: We don't, how far do we need to go with it on screen, right?
13:47 --> 13:53 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, you can intimate, find, but yeah, anyway, it's just, it's a, it's a little much.
13:54 --> 14:01 [UNKNOWN]: The death, it felt a little Deus Ex Machina too to have Sunfire show up at the end.
14:01 --> 14:07 [UNKNOWN]: Now it was cool, like the scene turned out to be cool, but it was just like, okay, yeah, we know where this is going.
14:08 --> 14:14 [UNKNOWN]: It was kind of a, it wasn't an unexpected setup.
14:14 --> 14:18 [UNKNOWN]: And so that was a little bit of a let down, even though the scene itself was kind of cool in some ways.
14:19 --> 14:36 [UNKNOWN]: That said, when I was doing my breakdown of the episode and taking notes and stuff, there was something I noticed that was really interesting, which goes back to a topic I was on before on a previous episode about, like what the season about, what the show is about.
14:37 --> 14:44 [UNKNOWN]: And in this particular episode, there is a whole bunch of scenes where we get this contemplation of power.
14:45 --> 14:53 [UNKNOWN]: who has power, how are they relating to power, how are power changing them, how are they exercising power, where do they feel about power?
14:55 --> 15:08 [UNKNOWN]: So it all goes back into that meditation and contemplation of power, like conversation with Renée, Renée and Helena with Gwain and Gwain and Dharon with
15:13 --> 15:19 [UNKNOWN]: Reneera and Missaria, there's some really great explorations of that.
15:19 --> 15:21 [UNKNOWN]: And so for me, that's what keeps me coming back to the show.
15:21 --> 15:28 [UNKNOWN]: This is a good nutritional interesting stuff going on with some cool dragon battles.
15:30 --> 15:31 [UNKNOWN]: I think I'm all all good there.
15:31 --> 15:32 [UNKNOWN]: So I don't know.
15:32 --> 15:34 [UNKNOWN]: That's that's where I am.
15:34 --> 15:38 [UNKNOWN]: I was interesting to see that this episode did generate so much conversation in the disc.
15:38 --> 15:38 [UNKNOWN]: I did a lot.
15:38 --> 15:43 [UNKNOWN]: A lot of people have a lot of difference in the opinion about what we saw.
15:43 --> 15:52 [UNKNOWN]: But ultimately again, I'm just I think we can there are a lot of little
15:54 --> 15:59 [UNKNOWN]: you know, story lies that need to be cleaned up.
16:00 --> 16:02 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I don't know how they're gonna bring it all in together, too.
16:02 --> 16:06 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, it's a lot, it's a lot.
16:06 --> 16:07 [UNKNOWN]: It's a lot.
16:07 --> 16:14 [UNKNOWN]: And the battle, that next season is the final season, where I think we're getting eight next season.
16:14 --> 16:18 [UNKNOWN]: So, we got nine episodes left in this whole show.
16:18 --> 16:20 [UNKNOWN]: So we have a lot to work through yet.
16:23 --> 16:26 [UNKNOWN]: Well, we have a lot to work through today as well.
16:26 --> 16:28 [UNKNOWN]: So let's take our first quick break.
16:28 --> 16:32 [UNKNOWN]: And then when we come back, we'll get into the episode breakdown.
16:48 --> 16:57 [UNKNOWN]: And we're back, nothing on the military corner side of things this episode will touch on a little bit.
16:57 --> 17:02 [UNKNOWN]: I think when we talk on Thursday, hopefully Nate, if you're listening, if you want to update those,
17:03 --> 17:21 [UNKNOWN]: situation maps that would be awesome because we've got some new forces on the board, some new new chits to put out on the on the sand table, but otherwise nothing really major strategically or tactically as has changed that much that we need to talk about.
17:21 --> 17:26 [UNKNOWN]: Otherwise, let's just start with the here and there.
17:26 --> 17:28 [UNKNOWN]: There's a bunch of little short scenes.
17:28 --> 17:29 [UNKNOWN]: These are completely out of order.
17:30 --> 17:31 [UNKNOWN]: So this is not at all timeline.
17:31 --> 17:34 [UNKNOWN]: I'm going to talk about Alan and the finger.
17:35 --> 17:38 [UNKNOWN]: Quickly talk about Bala and Raina.
17:38 --> 17:39 [UNKNOWN]: Talk about the Eerie.
17:40 --> 17:43 [UNKNOWN]: And we can talk about Adam and Bala on the search.
17:44 --> 17:50 [UNKNOWN]: Anything with Alan and his dad's finger, anything that caught you there, it was pretty straightforward.
17:50 --> 18:01 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I knew the scene, what's the scene with Oman and Coralist that he was going to cut his figure off.
18:01 --> 18:04 [UNKNOWN]: Right, when he pulled up the knife, he was one more thing.
18:04 --> 18:08 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I was like, okay, finger, I'm going to be sent to King Lambing
18:15 --> 18:26 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I know a lot of people were particularly, you know, moved by the dinner scene with Orman, Corbys, they run.
18:26 --> 18:29 [UNKNOWN]: We'll talk about all that whole Jean-laid version.
18:29 --> 18:35 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I guess just because they had that whole scene with Adam and the, or sorry, yeah, out.
18:37 --> 18:43 [UNKNOWN]: Now I've got it with Alan in the finger.
18:43 --> 18:44 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
18:44 --> 18:47 [UNKNOWN]: So it seems like he's got the Valerian forces in.
18:48 --> 18:48 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
18:49 --> 18:50 [UNKNOWN]: King's landing and there.
18:50 --> 18:52 [UNKNOWN]: Someone said we're brought us to round up the.
18:53 --> 18:53 [UNKNOWN]: Yep.
18:53 --> 18:54 [UNKNOWN]: The high tower.
18:55 --> 18:56 [UNKNOWN]: You know, Resurgency.
18:56 --> 18:56 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
18:57 --> 18:59 [UNKNOWN]: So that's an important little factor.
19:00 --> 19:03 [UNKNOWN]: And then when with Baylor and
19:07 --> 19:23 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, I know I was supposed to feel in that moment when she, when Bella, you know, comforts her younger sister, which I felt was inappropriate.
19:24 --> 19:28 [UNKNOWN]: response if I'm going to say it that way.
19:29 --> 19:36 [UNKNOWN]: No, like it does your sister and a lot of crazy stuff went down, but you got to just be there for your sister.
19:37 --> 19:42 [UNKNOWN]: And then, and then they give us this close-up, um, rain is face.
19:42 --> 19:42 [UNKNOWN]: Hmm.
19:44 --> 19:49 [UNKNOWN]: Like, then I'm, you know, I was left wondering what is this supposed to mean?
19:49 --> 19:50 [UNKNOWN]: This look on her face.
19:51 --> 19:52 [UNKNOWN]: Because
19:54 --> 20:18 [UNKNOWN]: I just don't know if she's supposed to be happy if she's supposed to be sad, if she angry, if she missing sheepy, if she, you know, glad to be out of the cave and eating regular food and she had a bath and cleaned up her scars and our cuts that she's not being executed that her sister's hugging her.
20:19 --> 20:23 [UNKNOWN]: Like I had all these questions about Raina,
20:24 --> 20:43 [UNKNOWN]: that I found no answers for that's incredibly frustrating because this is someone who has gone through horrific time and the weeks and months of this season.
20:43 --> 20:52 [UNKNOWN]: Living with this guilt and this dread and living with a guilt that's not even that shouldn't that she shouldn't even have.
20:54 --> 20:54 [UNKNOWN]: Right?
20:54 --> 20:59 [UNKNOWN]: So, what am I seeing in this moment when they embrace?
21:01 --> 21:05 [UNKNOWN]: Is it, you know, finally being able to to breathe?
21:06 --> 21:07 [UNKNOWN]: And I don't know.
21:08 --> 21:13 [UNKNOWN]: And I think that's a shitty place to be as a viewer who's followed the story alone.
21:14 --> 21:17 [UNKNOWN]: And they're supposed to be this big moment here, right?
21:26 --> 21:29 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, and you can begin again a new.
21:29 --> 21:31 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, what does that mean?
21:35 --> 21:36 [UNKNOWN]: What does that means for her?
21:37 --> 21:37 [UNKNOWN]: You know what I mean?
21:37 --> 21:39 [UNKNOWN]: Who did begin with you?
21:41 --> 21:45 [UNKNOWN]: She did like this whole ordeal that's her beginning again a new.
21:46 --> 21:47 [UNKNOWN]: She claimed her dragon.
21:49 --> 21:49 [UNKNOWN]: You know?
21:49 --> 21:51 [UNKNOWN]: And what about she be in her and her bond?
21:51 --> 21:52 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
21:52 --> 21:53 [UNKNOWN]: You know?
21:55 --> 22:02 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, because it's one thing they show clearly this episode is that the bond between dragon and dragon rider is strong.
22:04 --> 22:06 [UNKNOWN]: They made that very clear right.
22:08 --> 22:11 [UNKNOWN]: So what now?
22:13 --> 22:21 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, in the in the in the in the way that the other dragon riders were were interacting with their mounts.
22:21 --> 22:23 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, and everybody was just keeping
22:25 --> 22:27 [UNKNOWN]: keeping everybody in check a little bit.
22:28 --> 22:30 [UNKNOWN]: That was a really, right?
22:30 --> 22:32 [UNKNOWN]: It took a lot of force of ego force, right?
22:32 --> 22:45 [UNKNOWN]: Like chill, dragon, like just hang tight and like, let me sort this out and the dragon's like, okay, but I want to go Adam and they're like, and then even they got to a point where they were like, okay, everybody, we got to get out the way, we got to get out the way.
22:45 --> 22:49 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, then they get, they got got, they look, they took off.
22:49 --> 22:52 [UNKNOWN]: There's no stopping this, so we got to get out the way.
22:53 --> 23:08 [UNKNOWN]: But again, I'm just left wanting in rain a story that I feel like it needs a lot to get resolved and how does that happen given the time frame that we're on currently?
23:09 --> 23:12 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
23:13 --> 23:18 [UNKNOWN]: So we have the, like, I could have put out these in order a little better.
23:19 --> 23:25 [UNKNOWN]: But we had, we can just jump over, I guess, really quick to Adam and Bala on the search.
23:25 --> 23:25 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
23:27 --> 23:38 [UNKNOWN]: And I can sympathize with Adam, like, having been in that position in the past, like, oh, bro, that, that, sorry, man, sorry.
23:39 --> 23:40 [UNKNOWN]: It sucks.
23:40 --> 23:53 [UNKNOWN]: You're trying to be the nice guy, trying to be all heroic and chivalrous and like, hey, I'm safe and I, you know, whatever, you're like, nah, the bad boy.
23:55 --> 23:58 [UNKNOWN]: But I want to tell him he's even really a bad boy.
23:58 --> 24:00 [UNKNOWN]: He's just no, he's not.
24:00 --> 24:02 [UNKNOWN]: He's just
24:08 --> 24:11 [UNKNOWN]: He's more, he's broody, he's more broody.
24:11 --> 24:14 [UNKNOWN]: Well, like I said, she was never going to get with Adam.
24:15 --> 24:16 [UNKNOWN]: No, no, it was a foregone conclusion.
24:16 --> 24:17 [UNKNOWN]: She was like, yeah.
24:17 --> 24:18 [UNKNOWN]: He doesn't have white hair.
24:19 --> 24:20 [UNKNOWN]: You think that's that's it?
24:22 --> 24:24 [UNKNOWN]: She then fuck with she didn't like Jace.
24:25 --> 24:25 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
24:25 --> 24:27 [UNKNOWN]: She was being dutyful with Jace, right?
24:27 --> 24:30 [UNKNOWN]: And she, I think she generally enjoyed Jace's company.
24:30 --> 24:32 [UNKNOWN]: But not like that, he had dark hair.
24:32 --> 24:32 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
24:33 --> 24:34 [UNKNOWN]: I, okay.
24:38 --> 24:38 [UNKNOWN]: All right.
24:39 --> 24:40 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I don't care.
24:40 --> 24:40 [UNKNOWN]: All right.
24:40 --> 24:41 [UNKNOWN]: It's never going to happen.
24:43 --> 24:48 [UNKNOWN]: You know, it was never, well, as it is, she's interested in the white hair.
24:49 --> 24:50 [UNKNOWN]: So what it is.
24:50 --> 24:50 [UNKNOWN]: All right.
24:51 --> 24:51 [UNKNOWN]: That's what it is.
24:51 --> 24:52 [UNKNOWN]: That's what it is.
24:52 --> 24:53 [UNKNOWN]: She's got a thing.
24:54 --> 24:55 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, she has a thing.
24:55 --> 24:57 [UNKNOWN]: And it's not dark hair brothers.
24:57 --> 24:58 [UNKNOWN]: Got it.
25:01 --> 25:11 [UNKNOWN]: Um, and yeah, we talked about it last week about do we, you know, how do we feel about the love triangle is it is an easy plot device to put these characters?
25:12 --> 25:12 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, I hope not.
25:13 --> 25:23 [UNKNOWN]: Into conflict is it some trigger, because they're clearly laying tracks for all of the dragon seeds to be dissatisfied with their position?
25:23 --> 25:23 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
25:23 --> 25:25 [UNKNOWN]: Is this one more thing in Adams?
25:27 --> 25:32 [UNKNOWN]: Uh, you know, tick on Adam's side of the ledger to be like, nah, this is, this isn't working out for me.
25:33 --> 25:34 [UNKNOWN]: I truly hope not.
25:34 --> 25:39 [UNKNOWN]: I truly, because that would be so contrived and it wouldn't even make sense to the story.
25:39 --> 25:41 [UNKNOWN]: It doesn't exist with the brothers.
25:41 --> 25:42 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, exactly.
25:42 --> 25:43 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
25:43 --> 25:45 [UNKNOWN]: Their bond is pretty strong.
25:45 --> 25:46 [UNKNOWN]: It's pretty strong, man.
25:47 --> 25:50 [UNKNOWN]: Like, and for it to turn like that, I,
25:51 --> 26:00 [UNKNOWN]: Nah, I mean, it happens in a lot of films, TV shows, movies, books, but I think it's contrived.
26:01 --> 26:01 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
26:01 --> 26:03 [UNKNOWN]: Like, it's it's easy.
26:04 --> 26:04 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
26:05 --> 26:05 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
26:05 --> 26:09 [UNKNOWN]: I don't want to say cheap, but it's just it's a little effort.
26:09 --> 26:10 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, it is.
26:11 --> 26:22 [UNKNOWN]: And I hope they don't go in that direction that he's so aggrieved by Alan and Bala being the thing that he turns on on on his brother, essentially.
26:23 --> 26:31 [UNKNOWN]: And there's no reason to think that he would do so because they've given us no reason to think that they are in competition with each other, never.
26:32 --> 26:52 [UNKNOWN]: sense we've met them on screen right they've been some they've been nothing but supportive of each other yeah and so suddenly you're gonna throw hey you know love interest between you all like or like yeah you can't believe it yeah I love you better than me yeah to my to cool I want to
26:58 --> 27:02 [UNKNOWN]: All right, really quick, let's jump over to the eerie.
27:03 --> 27:08 [UNKNOWN]: I know this is a little disjointed, but then we'll come around to the dragon fight.
27:10 --> 27:17 [UNKNOWN]: Do we need the grossness of like the Lady Jane sitting with her adult ward?
27:17 --> 27:20 [UNKNOWN]: Don't, like, we already know these people are weird.
27:20 --> 27:21 [UNKNOWN]: Do we need to see more of it?
27:22 --> 27:23 [UNKNOWN]: I know it's canonical for
27:25 --> 27:27 [UNKNOWN]: All that stuff, I just, I didn't need it.
27:27 --> 27:29 [UNKNOWN]: Did it, what did it do to the story?
27:29 --> 27:30 [UNKNOWN]: It did nothing for me for the story.
27:31 --> 27:40 [UNKNOWN]: Hey, do nothing, but I've been telling you that the people in the area, we know they're not wrapped up to a tight, you know, they know, we know.
27:40 --> 27:42 [UNKNOWN]: The area folks ain't, they, they, they.
27:44 --> 27:48 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, they're doing human sacrifices and everything.
27:48 --> 27:50 [UNKNOWN]: So was our shop to see that?
27:50 --> 27:54 [UNKNOWN]: No, but and I kind of wondered, did they do that for a shop factory?
27:54 --> 27:56 [UNKNOWN]: Like, oh, look, it was going on here.
27:57 --> 27:57 [UNKNOWN]: You know what I mean?
27:57 --> 27:59 [UNKNOWN]: But I'm saying, why did we need that?
27:59 --> 28:04 [UNKNOWN]: If we didn't, that's why I'm asking if they felt like this was going to be a shop.
28:05 --> 28:05 [UNKNOWN]: Like.
28:06 --> 28:08 [UNKNOWN]: Look, look at what Lady Jane is.
28:08 --> 28:12 [UNKNOWN]: We have so much more to do with this storyline.
28:12 --> 28:13 [UNKNOWN]: Do we need to throw this?
28:14 --> 28:15 [UNKNOWN]: I get why Damon needed to go there.
28:15 --> 28:16 [UNKNOWN]: That's fine.
28:16 --> 28:16 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
28:16 --> 28:17 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
28:17 --> 28:22 [UNKNOWN]: And that that Lady Jane and Damon are in secret communication.
28:22 --> 28:23 [UNKNOWN]: That's fine.
28:24 --> 28:26 [UNKNOWN]: Was that supposed to shock him?
28:27 --> 28:29 [UNKNOWN]: As well as us, the viewer, was that supposed to shock Damon?
28:30 --> 28:30 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know.
28:33 --> 28:37 [UNKNOWN]: But what she's just living her life as she lives in, like, I don't care.
28:37 --> 28:38 [UNKNOWN]: But we already know you don't care.
28:39 --> 28:39 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
28:40 --> 28:43 [UNKNOWN]: I did like to how he just jumped up on the edge of the moon door.
28:44 --> 28:50 [UNKNOWN]: That was a very, I want to say swash buckling or just whatever, Cavalier.
28:50 --> 28:51 [UNKNOWN]: That's the word I want to say.
28:51 --> 28:53 [UNKNOWN]: Very Princess Brydie.
28:54 --> 28:55 [UNKNOWN]: Very Princess Brydie.
28:55 --> 28:56 [UNKNOWN]: Exactly, very much.
28:56 --> 28:58 [UNKNOWN]: And then, of course, he had to say, please.
28:58 --> 28:59 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
28:59 --> 28:59 [UNKNOWN]: And he meant it.
29:00 --> 29:02 [UNKNOWN]: You know, please give me a minute.
29:02 --> 29:05 [UNKNOWN]: And this is where I like Damon's Ark.
29:05 --> 29:05 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
29:06 --> 29:09 [UNKNOWN]: Right, we're actually seeing something new.
29:09 --> 29:11 [UNKNOWN]: He's gone through all of this stuff.
29:11 --> 29:25 [UNKNOWN]: He's with his brother, with his niece, and now who is his wife, his first wife, his second wife, his children, the gold cloaks, all of this stuff.
29:26 --> 29:29 [UNKNOWN]: And finally, finally, it comes down to
29:30 --> 29:32 [UNKNOWN]: My daughter's life is in danger.
29:32 --> 29:36 [UNKNOWN]: Please give me a day to try to sort this out.
29:37 --> 29:39 [UNKNOWN]: Like, wow, that's really interesting.
29:40 --> 29:41 [UNKNOWN]: And I really love where it's going.
29:41 --> 29:44 [UNKNOWN]: And then the whole other end of the storyline just fails.
29:45 --> 29:48 [UNKNOWN]: It's just flat because they're nerfing Raina.
29:49 --> 29:49 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
29:49 --> 29:53 [UNKNOWN]: But seeing his arc is still been pleasurable.
29:53 --> 29:55 [UNKNOWN]: And of course Matt Smith, right?
29:55 --> 29:56 [UNKNOWN]: And again, so good.
29:56 --> 29:58 [UNKNOWN]: So yeah, it's his arc, right?
30:00 --> 30:05 [UNKNOWN]: how he's come to grips with how terrible he's been to his children.
30:06 --> 30:07 [UNKNOWN]: And that is admirable.
30:08 --> 30:09 [UNKNOWN]: That is admirable.
30:09 --> 30:14 [UNKNOWN]: But did Rayna need to go through what she's gone through in order for him to reach this point?
30:15 --> 30:15 [UNKNOWN]: I would argue no.
30:17 --> 30:22 [UNKNOWN]: Or even if she did go through this, give her the agency to work
30:27 --> 30:32 [UNKNOWN]: Ark, not just be too dimensional so that Damon can have his man pain and grow from it.
30:33 --> 30:45 [UNKNOWN]: Like, you actually give her the moment of truth and working out the issues and having agency in her own life and if she's going to make a sacrifice play, it's a choice that she makes or if she's going to make it right or whatever.
30:45 --> 30:50 [UNKNOWN]: Instead, she's hustled off the screen by the queen and Adam, right?
30:50 --> 30:52 [UNKNOWN]: So, yeah, they don't like you.
30:54 --> 31:05 [UNKNOWN]: But like you point out, I did like to see David in this moment, like really leading for the life of his daughter.
31:07 --> 31:08 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, it was good.
31:08 --> 31:11 [UNKNOWN]: And we get a nettles name drop there.
31:11 --> 31:12 [UNKNOWN]: We get a nettles drop there.
31:12 --> 31:19 [UNKNOWN]: So it'll be interesting to talk on Thursday when they get into book fits and see what people make of that storyline because that's that book thing.
31:22 --> 31:48 [UNKNOWN]: uh... right so we have uh... windrackens attack sheepy peacefully mining his own business is ambushed and forced to the ground by sirex damon gorexes i'm sorry caracces my bad uh... damon in reneira it's right there in the notes caracces damon reneira have a brief father and daughter mom up before reneira and add them show up on sirex and sea smoke i've got a little audio clip here too let me uh... see if i got the right one
31:51 --> 31:52 [UNKNOWN]: I cannot live the way I have.
31:53 --> 31:54 [UNKNOWN]: I got off from all who loved me.
31:55 --> 31:59 [UNKNOWN]: And so you think by going after Vega, you will, what?
32:00 --> 32:02 [UNKNOWN]: If I kill her, I will have paid some of my debt to Reneera.
32:03 --> 32:05 [UNKNOWN]: I would at least have grounds to sue for a mercy.
32:05 --> 32:06 [UNKNOWN]: You were more likely died.
32:06 --> 32:07 [UNKNOWN]: And I will have paid all of it.
32:08 --> 32:09 [UNKNOWN]: I will die of a solved if I cannot live that way.
32:13 --> 32:16 [UNKNOWN]: See, like, that set up, I'm okay with.
32:22 --> 32:30 [UNKNOWN]: action and consequence action and reaction, you know, at consequence with internal feelings, power.
32:31 --> 32:32 [UNKNOWN]: Reneer has got all this power.
32:33 --> 32:34 [UNKNOWN]: I'm doomed.
32:34 --> 32:39 [UNKNOWN]: You know, I've got to figure out some way to balance that out.
32:42 --> 32:44 [UNKNOWN]: And so that goes in that meditation of power thing.
32:44 --> 32:47 [UNKNOWN]: Like, hey, there's a power imbalance here.
32:49 --> 32:55 [UNKNOWN]: And I'm trying to figure out how to resolve this situation.
32:56 --> 33:03 [UNKNOWN]: And I've got a dragon now, so that gives me some power and vague are, that's a big power board, piece on the board.
33:03 --> 33:11 [UNKNOWN]: If I can go take care of that one way or the other, then I can resolve this situation.
33:11 --> 33:13 [UNKNOWN]: But I have power now, and I'm going to use it.
33:13 --> 33:14 [UNKNOWN]: I'm going to act on it.
33:14 --> 33:16 [UNKNOWN]: I'm going to use my agency.
33:16 --> 33:17 [UNKNOWN]: So up until this moment,
33:18 --> 33:19 [UNKNOWN]: Things are going okay.
33:20 --> 33:21 [UNKNOWN]: Storywise.
33:22 --> 33:23 [UNKNOWN]: And then whatever.
33:24 --> 33:29 [UNKNOWN]: But then we get our little fight with the wishybee and company.
33:30 --> 33:34 [UNKNOWN]: Any thoughts on the prior conversation or you want to just- Yeah, let me know.
33:35 --> 33:37 [UNKNOWN]: The thing that pisses me off.
33:38 --> 33:39 [UNKNOWN]: As I was watching it,
33:49 --> 33:50 [UNKNOWN]: Right, right.
33:50 --> 33:58 [UNKNOWN]: Because his own demise, there you go, no one on the show, no one in the family.
33:59 --> 34:00 [UNKNOWN]: He set up this request.
34:00 --> 34:01 [UNKNOWN]: He locked her in.
34:01 --> 34:02 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
34:02 --> 34:07 [UNKNOWN]: No one in the family is acknowledging this one fact.
34:08 --> 34:09 [UNKNOWN]: I don't care.
34:09 --> 34:17 [UNKNOWN]: Someone has to tell Raynara, hey, yes, sir, not you in the room.
34:18 --> 34:22 [UNKNOWN]: And Thor, he was his uncle.
34:24 --> 34:27 [UNKNOWN]: He thought of it then.
34:27 --> 34:33 [UNKNOWN]: Thor, he was somebody that he's not and got three arrows put in him.
34:35 --> 34:42 [UNKNOWN]: That's not who you thought was writing Shakespeare.
34:42 --> 34:43 [UNKNOWN]: That is not.
34:44 --> 34:46 [UNKNOWN]: That person is not on the right.
34:46 --> 34:47 [UNKNOWN]: It's not on the right.
34:48 --> 34:57 [UNKNOWN]: And that he continues to take this burden and no one around her is saying, no, not even in that moment.
34:58 --> 35:00 [UNKNOWN]: Not even in that moment.
35:00 --> 35:03 [UNKNOWN]: He could have said, no, it's not your fault.
35:03 --> 35:04 [UNKNOWN]: This is on Jace.
35:05 --> 35:10 [UNKNOWN]: Hmm, her sister could walk into the room and say, it's not your fault.
35:10 --> 35:16 [UNKNOWN]: She could, her sister could have told Renewa after in that after yes and report.
35:16 --> 35:17 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
35:17 --> 35:23 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, she be was torched at everything and it got all messed up, but your son still was out there when he wasn't supposed to be on.
35:23 --> 35:25 [UNKNOWN]: When he wasn't supposed to be on.
35:26 --> 35:30 [UNKNOWN]: And those are the hard truths that you have to tell the ruler.
35:32 --> 35:32 [UNKNOWN]: Right?
35:32 --> 35:36 [UNKNOWN]: You have to tell her, you have to be able to tell the ruler the hard truths.
35:36 --> 35:41 [UNKNOWN]: And this is one truth that no one seems to be willing to tell her.
35:41 --> 35:48 [UNKNOWN]: And as a result of that, we have Raina suffering immensely from this because everyone else has moved on.
35:50 --> 35:52 [UNKNOWN]: She's the only one who still stuck.
35:54 --> 35:56 [UNKNOWN]: Baila is out there that hasn't belonged to her.
35:57 --> 36:01 [UNKNOWN]: Baila is out there trying to make a men's, but Baila doesn't feel guilty.
36:02 --> 36:02 [UNKNOWN]: Mm-hmm.
36:04 --> 36:05 [UNKNOWN]: You see what I'm saying?
36:05 --> 36:05 [UNKNOWN]: Mm-hmm.
36:06 --> 36:14 [UNKNOWN]: Rain is the only person on the only one who feels guilt for Jason's death.
36:14 --> 36:14 [UNKNOWN]: Mm-hmm.
36:16 --> 36:17 [UNKNOWN]: And I don't like it.
36:20 --> 36:41 [UNKNOWN]: I don't like it not one bit and then sheepies got to pay for it and then sheepie has to pay for it and then they jump sheepie like yo how you're just gonna jump my God my God it's just Go sleep like I don't long look at for some sheep you roll up on me You roll up on me and Raina we money our own business.
36:42 --> 36:46 [UNKNOWN]: I want to roll up talking shit I'm not backing down.
36:46 --> 36:47 [UNKNOWN]: That's what I do
36:48 --> 36:51 [UNKNOWN]: I could take a fair one, Syrax was about to die.
36:52 --> 36:54 [UNKNOWN]: Seriously, Syrax was about to die.
36:54 --> 36:58 [UNKNOWN]: This moment was getting, get these more grueled as well.
36:58 --> 36:58 [UNKNOWN]: It's me.
36:59 --> 36:59 [UNKNOWN]: It's more quiet.
37:00 --> 37:02 [UNKNOWN]: That's a joke.
37:03 --> 37:04 [UNKNOWN]: They were underrobes.
37:05 --> 37:07 [UNKNOWN]: They are lucky caracces, was there?
37:07 --> 37:08 [UNKNOWN]: They are lucky.
37:09 --> 37:17 [UNKNOWN]: And the thing is, you know, Damon, then caracces have such a bond.
37:18 --> 37:21 [UNKNOWN]: Like they're every, they do shit together.
37:22 --> 37:23 [UNKNOWN]: You know what I mean?
37:23 --> 37:28 [UNKNOWN]: That's a deadly combination, the two of them, because they're of a mind.
37:28 --> 37:32 [UNKNOWN]: They are of a singular mind when it comes to this dragon fight in shit.
37:33 --> 37:39 [UNKNOWN]: When it comes to this dragon dragon rider shit, Damon and fucking heraxes are tier one.
37:40 --> 37:43 [UNKNOWN]: Tier one, she'd be had no chance against them.
37:44 --> 37:44 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
37:45 --> 37:52 [UNKNOWN]: She'd be had no chance to let her known, you got to others, you know, nipping and scratching at me.
37:54 --> 37:54 [UNKNOWN]: I was pissed.
37:55 --> 38:12 [UNKNOWN]: Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
38:12 --> 38:13 [UNKNOWN]: And here comes C smoke.
38:14 --> 38:22 [UNKNOWN]: When Syrax was snacking on him, and then he just gets underneath and just just his body slacking and just like, oh, try to get a Jiu Jitsu on your ass.
38:22 --> 38:33 [UNKNOWN]: It Syrax was like, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
38:34 --> 38:36 [UNKNOWN]: the, the, it was absolute cinema.
38:37 --> 38:37 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
38:37 --> 38:38 [UNKNOWN]: Everything about it.
38:38 --> 38:39 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
38:39 --> 38:42 [UNKNOWN]: The visuals were just, they were spectacular.
38:42 --> 38:48 [UNKNOWN]: One thing I really liked was when Syrax forced Sheepie to ground.
38:50 --> 38:50 [UNKNOWN]: Correct.
38:50 --> 38:52 [UNKNOWN]: And we, sorry, would I keep saying Syrax.
38:52 --> 38:53 [UNKNOWN]: Correct.
38:53 --> 38:56 [UNKNOWN]: This forces Sheepie to the ground.
38:58 --> 39:04 [UNKNOWN]: there's a wide shot kind of an establishing shot of two dragons facing off each other as the writers are coming in the middle.
39:04 --> 39:06 [UNKNOWN]: Behind them is a little hill like a little hill.
39:08 --> 39:17 [UNKNOWN]: And one of the things that that Hill does is it gives us a point of reference because we're about to get real mixed up with a bunch of dragon combat, right?
39:17 --> 39:18 [UNKNOWN]: So we have a fixed point of reference.
39:18 --> 39:28 [UNKNOWN]: So no matter where we are on the camera, what point of view is we're spinning around, we kind of have a place to orient to.
39:28 --> 39:32 [UNKNOWN]: The other thing that that Hill does is it provides a sense of scale.
39:32 --> 39:33 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
39:33 --> 39:39 [UNKNOWN]: We understand how big these dragons are, not only to humans, but relative to each other.
39:39 --> 39:40 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
39:40 --> 39:44 [UNKNOWN]: Their lengths, their girth, their height, all of that kind of stuff.
39:44 --> 39:49 [UNKNOWN]: So all of that was just really smart direction and choreography.
39:49 --> 39:50 [UNKNOWN]: The CGI was
39:51 --> 39:52 [UNKNOWN]: flawless.
39:52 --> 39:53 [UNKNOWN]: I never felt it was really good.
39:54 --> 39:55 [UNKNOWN]: I never felt taken out of the moment.
39:56 --> 39:59 [UNKNOWN]: Like, oh, that's a bad shot or that's a bad little moment there.
39:59 --> 40:05 [UNKNOWN]: Even when Damon got bumped and rolls off the wing, they stitched that together really nicely.
40:05 --> 40:07 [UNKNOWN]: The practical effect into the CGI.
40:08 --> 40:10 [UNKNOWN]: I was well pleased by this.
40:10 --> 40:14 [UNKNOWN]: Just as a little encapsulation, just a little piece of action.
40:15 --> 40:15 [UNKNOWN]: Perfect.
40:15 --> 40:16 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
40:16 --> 40:17 [UNKNOWN]: That was a great scene.
40:17 --> 40:18 [UNKNOWN]: That was a great scene.
40:19 --> 40:20 [UNKNOWN]: And they'd be not dead.
40:21 --> 40:21 [UNKNOWN]: And clear.
40:21 --> 40:22 [UNKNOWN]: He's not dead.
40:22 --> 40:23 [UNKNOWN]: He's not dead.
40:24 --> 40:25 [UNKNOWN]: You know what?
40:25 --> 40:26 [UNKNOWN]: I hurt my God.
40:26 --> 40:27 [UNKNOWN]: My God is hurt.
40:27 --> 40:28 [UNKNOWN]: His voice hurt.
40:28 --> 40:28 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
40:28 --> 40:30 [UNKNOWN]: The sheepie is not dead.
40:30 --> 40:32 [UNKNOWN]: And I'm not sure why.
40:32 --> 40:33 [UNKNOWN]: Damon.
40:34 --> 40:35 [UNKNOWN]: Did it.
40:35 --> 40:36 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, that was interesting, right?
40:36 --> 40:37 [UNKNOWN]: Kill sheepie.
40:37 --> 40:41 [UNKNOWN]: Was it because of the connection between sheepie and Reina?
40:42 --> 40:44 [UNKNOWN]: Did you feel in a little guilt there?
40:44 --> 40:45 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, that's when I'm wondering.
40:46 --> 40:53 [UNKNOWN]: Because when he gives Adam the command to like go escort the queen, which I think is the right thing, right?
40:53 --> 40:55 [UNKNOWN]: To do this needs to be escorted at all times.
40:55 --> 40:57 [UNKNOWN]: Always needs to have extra air cover.
40:58 --> 41:02 [UNKNOWN]: The, he says to, to Cyrax kill.
41:03 --> 41:03 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
41:03 --> 41:09 [UNKNOWN]: And so it's not like, hey, I'm gonna let she be, you know, like, oh, nobody's around, okay, cool, she be like, get out of here.
41:10 --> 41:15 [UNKNOWN]: He, they went into in for it and at some point, he made the decision.
41:15 --> 41:21 [UNKNOWN]: He could have, they could have gone in as she be was running away and attacked from behind.
41:24 --> 41:24 [UNKNOWN]: But didn't.
41:25 --> 41:34 [UNKNOWN]: Did he think that the injuries suffered were enough to what did he, you know, have a, did he pause because that's his daughter's dragon?
41:34 --> 41:37 [UNKNOWN]: That's what I'm wondering, and I kind of like the ambiguity.
41:38 --> 41:41 [UNKNOWN]: A kind of like that ambiguity is this demon being soft.
41:42 --> 41:42 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
41:43 --> 41:51 [UNKNOWN]: Because we see him not take a hard angle on something later on in this episode when he has the conversation with Reneera.
41:52 --> 41:52 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
41:53 --> 42:02 [UNKNOWN]: He tries a loving approach, as opposed to a, and a solving approach as he's been abusive in the past, physically abusive in the past.
42:04 --> 42:06 [UNKNOWN]: All right, anything else on the on the dragon fight?
42:07 --> 42:10 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, you know, we will have justice for sheepy.
42:11 --> 42:12 [UNKNOWN]: Justice for sheepy.
42:12 --> 42:13 [UNKNOWN]: I don't get how long it takes.
42:14 --> 42:14 [UNKNOWN]: We need to shirt.
42:15 --> 42:16 [UNKNOWN]: We need to get the the merch store.
42:18 --> 42:19 [UNKNOWN]: All right.
42:19 --> 42:26 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, and I was like really, I had a wild swing of emotions, because we had crispy coals head on a pike this episode.
42:26 --> 42:26 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, God.
42:27 --> 42:30 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, my God, can you can I just
42:31 --> 42:42 [UNKNOWN]: Give me a minute here, because when the monks from up north were walking, they had the head on the stick.
42:42 --> 42:46 [UNKNOWN]: But the head still had the one arrow still in it.
42:46 --> 42:51 [UNKNOWN]: I said, y'all, how do they know me so well?
42:51 --> 42:53 [UNKNOWN]: I know the whole community, we were all right.
42:55 --> 42:56 [UNKNOWN]: How did they know me so well?
42:56 --> 42:57 [UNKNOWN]: That's a key shared way.
42:57 --> 43:03 [UNKNOWN]: We need that like, like if you were whole, wouldn't like a four by his head.
43:03 --> 43:07 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, they had the arrows still in his face.
43:07 --> 43:10 [UNKNOWN]: I said, yo, these onks are no joke.
43:11 --> 43:12 [UNKNOWN]: No, this is what is about.
43:13 --> 43:24 [UNKNOWN]: Like just awesome awesome like I said on the discord that that image is going to sustain me for a good long time.
43:25 --> 43:37 [UNKNOWN]: It is I will read I'm gonna screenshot that motherfucker and we need to turn into some art we need to turn into some some it is art it is art it absolutely is this isn't
43:43 --> 43:43 [UNKNOWN]: for sure.
43:44 --> 43:53 [UNKNOWN]: And then, but then we had the roller coaster because we had coal on a pike and then we had cheapy getting jumped and I was like, oh man, they're doing John dirty on this episode.
43:53 --> 43:56 [UNKNOWN]: They put him through the roller on the roller coaster of emotions.
43:58 --> 43:59 [UNKNOWN]: Too funny.
43:59 --> 43:59 [UNKNOWN]: All right.
44:00 --> 44:00 [UNKNOWN]: Let's do this.
44:00 --> 44:03 [UNKNOWN]: Let's take our next break and when we come back, let's spend a little
44:21 --> 44:22 [UNKNOWN]: And we're back.
44:22 --> 44:23 [UNKNOWN]: All right, Dreamy is going to dream.
44:23 --> 44:28 [UNKNOWN]: Helena has a dream of herself in the courtyard of the Red Keep with a gray mayor.
44:29 --> 44:32 [UNKNOWN]: She's woken by Raniera, wants to know everything.
44:32 --> 44:39 [UNKNOWN]: And then we'll talk about this a little bit and then we'll book in with her second dream that she has later on in the episode.
44:40 --> 44:42 [UNKNOWN]: What did you make of this first dream?
44:43 --> 44:45 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, God, what do I start?
44:46 --> 44:51 [UNKNOWN]: Like, I feel so bad for Helena.
44:52 --> 44:57 [UNKNOWN]: Just really, this is someone who deserves so much better.
44:57 --> 45:03 [UNKNOWN]: You know, and the machinations of her family,
45:05 --> 45:13 [UNKNOWN]: the lies she's been told, the abuse that she suffered at the hands of her brothers, brother of the mother.
45:14 --> 45:19 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, just, I feel so badly for her.
45:20 --> 45:28 [UNKNOWN]: And the dream sequence is just, they really hit for me.
45:28 --> 45:29 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
45:30 --> 45:31 [UNKNOWN]: You know, they really hit for me.
45:32 --> 45:32 [UNKNOWN]: It was just like,
45:34 --> 45:51 [UNKNOWN]: When you see someone who lacks agency in the way that she lacks agency, being taken advantage of over and over and over and over and over again, I don't know, I just the side
45:57 --> 46:00 [UNKNOWN]: when she's like, well, you got six dragons.
46:00 --> 46:02 [UNKNOWN]: How is that changed you?
46:02 --> 46:04 [UNKNOWN]: And she's like, what do you mean changed?
46:04 --> 46:09 [UNKNOWN]: And hey, that's like, damn, you really are far gone.
46:10 --> 46:11 [UNKNOWN]: Like, you're way over.
46:11 --> 46:14 [UNKNOWN]: Like, you have no idea what's going on with yourself.
46:15 --> 46:18 [UNKNOWN]: I just thought that was so insightful, so interesting.
46:26 --> 46:28 [UNKNOWN]: You know, not worldly, right?
46:28 --> 46:30 [UNKNOWN]: Being out and living a daily life in the world.
46:31 --> 46:34 [UNKNOWN]: She can cut through so much bullshit.
46:35 --> 46:36 [UNKNOWN]: No, she sees it all.
46:36 --> 46:37 [UNKNOWN]: She sees it all.
46:38 --> 46:48 [UNKNOWN]: I just want her to grab her child, get on top of a dream fire, and just go.
46:50 --> 46:51 [UNKNOWN]: Like I wish she would just do that.
46:53 --> 47:05 [UNKNOWN]: And in that scene in particular, as she's laying in the bed, she has a meal point, you know, Rinaura is, you know, tightly grabbing her wrist, tell me everything, you know?
47:05 --> 47:06 [UNKNOWN]: Infantilizing her.
47:07 --> 47:09 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, you're a dreamer, can you?
47:09 --> 47:12 [UNKNOWN]: You know, she's like talking to her, like a sick girl doing what she's done.
47:13 --> 47:16 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, when she doesn't get her answer, she gets all violent and grab her.
47:17 --> 47:22 [UNKNOWN]: And so I'm just like, you'll just get on your dragon, take your child and bounce.
47:23 --> 47:24 [UNKNOWN]: Leave all of this shit behind man.
47:25 --> 47:26 [UNKNOWN]: Leave all this shit behind.
47:26 --> 47:31 [UNKNOWN]: Because at the end of the day, we've been talking about dragons of power for the entire season.
47:33 --> 47:36 [UNKNOWN]: She does have power.
47:36 --> 47:37 [UNKNOWN]: She does have power.
47:37 --> 47:40 [UNKNOWN]: She's a dreamer and she's a fucking dragon writer.
47:46 --> 47:54 [UNKNOWN]: It really makes me sad to see her unable to or unwilling to use those things to her advantage that she clearly could.
47:54 --> 47:59 [UNKNOWN]: And much the way that I'm saddened by Reina's, you know, fall.
48:01 --> 48:11 [UNKNOWN]: They're not the same, but these are two young women, two girls who are just their lives are brutal.
48:13 --> 48:32 [UNKNOWN]: You know, and no one around them seems to even, I don't want to say no one cares, but it's hard to for me to look at you know, Helena and Reina and say that people care about them.
48:35 --> 48:38 [UNKNOWN]: It's hard for me to do that.
48:38 --> 48:39 [UNKNOWN]: They're pieces on a board.
48:40 --> 48:53 [UNKNOWN]: You know, and they only, you know, they're well-being is as much of an afterthought as anything.
48:55 --> 49:00 [UNKNOWN]: You know, we have rena here, we have a rena here, we know where they're at.
49:02 --> 49:03 [UNKNOWN]: We have to manage them.
49:03 --> 49:05 [UNKNOWN]: That's what the feeling that I'm getting.
49:06 --> 49:09 [UNKNOWN]: That these are two girls, young women who need to be managed.
49:11 --> 49:14 [UNKNOWN]: And that's a fucked up situation to be in.
49:14 --> 49:14 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
49:15 --> 49:19 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, West Rose is not a great place to grow up.
49:19 --> 49:21 [UNKNOWN]: No, no, no.
49:23 --> 49:31 [UNKNOWN]: So this is the first scene of this episode where I was like, oh, okay, this is where we're getting this meditation on power, this contemplation of power stuff.
49:33 --> 49:37 [UNKNOWN]: And this line about, you know, you've got six dragons
49:43 --> 49:51 [UNKNOWN]: And Reneer is managing and trying to deal with so much and so many threats and so many different people at her for so many different things.
49:52 --> 50:03 [UNKNOWN]: And she and Damien keeps urging her to use the power that she has at her fingertips, which is six dragons, like she has six dragons, right?
50:03 --> 50:03 [UNKNOWN]: That's,
50:05 --> 50:07 [UNKNOWN]: that is unfathomable power.
50:08 --> 50:12 [UNKNOWN]: And yet, she doesn't want to use it, but yet it's still changing her.
50:12 --> 50:15 [UNKNOWN]: She has an exercise that power, but holding that power,
50:16 --> 50:24 [UNKNOWN]: has changed her and Haleena sees the change and tries to call it out and Reneera is unwilling to see that she has changed.
50:25 --> 50:26 [UNKNOWN]: What do you think of me?
50:26 --> 50:26 [UNKNOWN]: Right?
50:27 --> 50:27 [UNKNOWN]: Who do you think I had?
50:27 --> 50:28 [UNKNOWN]: Do you think I'm going to hurt you?
50:28 --> 50:29 [UNKNOWN]: Do you think I'm going to?
50:30 --> 50:30 [UNKNOWN]: Reina?
50:30 --> 50:34 [UNKNOWN]: Do you think I'm going to punish you because you were involved in the death of my son?
50:34 --> 50:36 [UNKNOWN]: You know?
50:37 --> 50:44 [UNKNOWN]: But all these people are like, but you're the queen, like you have to do certain things to just maintain your grip on power.
50:45 --> 51:01 [UNKNOWN]: And whether you exercise that power or not, and then we get that conversation later with Missaria about her father, but like using, not using power when you have the power is as much, just holding the power is changing you.
51:04 --> 51:06 [UNKNOWN]: regardless of how you exercise that power.
51:06 --> 51:08 [UNKNOWN]: It's still just by being in the position of that power.
51:09 --> 51:11 [UNKNOWN]: How does that affect an individual?
51:11 --> 51:12 [UNKNOWN]: And I think that's an interesting question.
51:13 --> 51:26 [UNKNOWN]: But I think the question, too, is our father didn't the challenges for her as a ruler because she's a woman are far different from what I have found.
51:27 --> 51:28 [UNKNOWN]: Yep, faced.
51:28 --> 51:28 [UNKNOWN]: Yep.
51:29 --> 51:31 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know if she's made that connection yet.
51:33 --> 51:35 [UNKNOWN]: where we need that connection as the audience as well.
51:35 --> 51:42 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I think I have because I understand when she says how father would not do certain things.
51:43 --> 51:47 [UNKNOWN]: But how father could afford not to do certain things because that would not be looked upon as weakness.
51:48 --> 51:51 [UNKNOWN]: Because nobody's going to second guess the male air king.
51:52 --> 51:52 [UNKNOWN]: Absolutely.
51:54 --> 51:55 [UNKNOWN]: I question.
51:55 --> 51:58 [UNKNOWN]: We have somebody like Ormond who would be questioning everything.
51:58 --> 52:00 [UNKNOWN]: Anything you do doesn't matter.
52:00 --> 52:01 [UNKNOWN]: Doesn't matter.
52:01 --> 52:02 [UNKNOWN]: He's just going to question it.
52:02 --> 52:03 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
52:03 --> 52:04 [UNKNOWN]: And the song he's built in.
52:04 --> 52:12 [UNKNOWN]: So right now, I'm at the point where I'm like, yeah, maybe you should use the power that you have.
52:14 --> 52:16 [UNKNOWN]: And to secure your rule.
52:16 --> 52:19 [UNKNOWN]: Right, and reshape the landscape.
52:19 --> 52:20 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
52:21 --> 52:21 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
52:23 --> 52:28 [UNKNOWN]: So I don't I don't believe she's made that calculation and that's to her detriment.
52:30 --> 52:40 [UNKNOWN]: So this is an interesting thing what you're saying there and we were chatting a little bit about this on the discord about the dream sequence and what's the symbology of the dreams.
52:41 --> 53:06 [UNKNOWN]: In the first dream, there's a gray mayor or a pale horse described either way in the courtyard hitch to a wagon and in her second dream, there's an unbridled horse just standing in the little enclosure farmhouse thing that they're standing in with the chickens.
53:06 --> 53:07 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
53:08 --> 53:14 [UNKNOWN]: And wasn't it in the final episodes of season eight?
53:14 --> 53:24 [UNKNOWN]: There is, isn't there a gray mayor or pale horse like running through the streets of King's Landing during the Danny's Hellfire?
53:24 --> 53:28 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I think that was something that area saw.
53:29 --> 53:30 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, yeah, start.
53:30 --> 53:43 [UNKNOWN]: I haven't, you know, like I should have done the work and gone back and and dredged up episode, you know season eight of game of thrones, but then I'm like part of me is like, do I even want to go there to wait and want to touch that stuff.
53:44 --> 53:45 [UNKNOWN]: No, you don't.
53:46 --> 53:48 [UNKNOWN]: but we don't want to go back to season 8.
53:49 --> 54:01 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, but you people are on the on the discord we're like, oh, why are we bringing up all of this stuff about the final season of game of thrones and do we have to go there and they keep laying tracks in this.
54:03 --> 54:04 [UNKNOWN]: season, right?
54:04 --> 54:10 [UNKNOWN]: They keep making hard point connections between now and then.
54:11 --> 54:21 [UNKNOWN]: Obviously, the cat's pot dagger that, you know, Aiman has now, like that's a constant reminder of the whole, you know, prophecy and the night king and all that stuff.
54:22 --> 54:28 [UNKNOWN]: And so it's, uh, but it's interesting,
54:30 --> 54:36 [UNKNOWN]: You know, to have the pale mare in her dream, and what does that portend, is that an omen?
54:36 --> 54:40 [UNKNOWN]: I think, so let's just jump really quick to the second dream.
54:41 --> 54:46 [UNKNOWN]: She dreams of giving birth and the child is taken away, and then she dreams of writing dream fire.
54:47 --> 54:57 [UNKNOWN]: And we've got a scene of a bunch of people, you know, hoarding in to the dragon.
54:57 --> 54:58 [UNKNOWN]: What do they call that place?
55:01 --> 55:16 [UNKNOWN]: And then we get that scene of her with her children with the chicken farm with the solar eclipse and the snow falling and then a big winter storm violent sort of winter storm blowing in.
55:16 --> 55:19 [UNKNOWN]: Which, you know, that's coded nightking, right?
55:20 --> 55:22 [UNKNOWN]: That's totally coded for that.
55:23 --> 55:41 [UNKNOWN]: But then having the pale mayor always in her background is that a direct illusion is that a direct reference to the sacking of Kings Landing or is that some metaphorical
55:43 --> 56:02 [UNKNOWN]: If you use your power, you know, the result of this power is this, you know, this doom like if this horse is the symbol of Armageddon and of things of like ultimate catastrophe is that always in your background when you're contemplating using power.
56:02 --> 56:05 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know, I feel like I'm grabbing straws here a little bit.
56:06 --> 56:14 [UNKNOWN]: I'm trying to make something out of this, and I definitely would like to, you know, if folks have thoughts on the dreams, they definitely need to let us know.
56:15 --> 56:20 [UNKNOWN]: So yeah, I agree, the whole coding was night king, right?
56:20 --> 56:24 [UNKNOWN]: So that was definitely foreshadowing that.
56:33 --> 56:40 [UNKNOWN]: And because we see area right off the pale horse after Danny Burns can lay right in that vision.
56:41 --> 56:46 [UNKNOWN]: There's so long ago, and I have such a sketchy memories of it, like, do I go back and try to look up?
56:46 --> 56:47 [UNKNOWN]: Don't do it.
56:47 --> 56:48 [UNKNOWN]: Don't do it.
56:48 --> 56:48 [UNKNOWN]: Don't do it.
56:48 --> 56:50 [UNKNOWN]: All right, I'm relying on your memory.
56:50 --> 56:52 [UNKNOWN]: So are collective trauma?
56:52 --> 56:53 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, collective trauma.
56:54 --> 57:02 [UNKNOWN]: So we see area, you know, right off into the ashes, presumably after Danny, you know, burns king landing down, blah, blah, blah, blah.
57:03 --> 57:07 [UNKNOWN]: So I think there is because of the other things,
57:08 --> 57:16 [UNKNOWN]: that are happening in that sequence, I have, I believe that that was a call to the ending of season 8.
57:16 --> 57:17 [UNKNOWN]: Personally.
57:18 --> 57:30 [UNKNOWN]: could be wrong, but you can't, it's just too much the clips, the snow, the night falling and the horse they're all at the same time, and it's like the snow ash, I couldn't read it.
57:30 --> 57:35 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, right, snow versus ash, right, yeah, that it was a good call.
57:35 --> 57:43 [UNKNOWN]: I think it's a call to that, to those final episodes and games of Trump, which is an interesting
57:48 --> 58:04 [UNKNOWN]: Dreams may be indicating a truth about something that's yet to come, but a vision without context, what is that?
58:05 --> 58:05 [UNKNOWN]: Right?
58:05 --> 58:12 [UNKNOWN]: It's like if we can look, all right, so I'm going to drop a real world example here.
58:14 --> 58:20 [UNKNOWN]: My daughter, I've been watching the recent World War II series that's narrated by Tom Hanks.
58:20 --> 58:21 [UNKNOWN]: He's an executive producer.
58:21 --> 58:22 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know if you've seen this.
58:22 --> 58:23 [UNKNOWN]: It's a 20-part series.
58:23 --> 58:24 [UNKNOWN]: All about World War II.
58:24 --> 58:25 [UNKNOWN]: It's really interesting.
58:26 --> 58:28 [UNKNOWN]: When there's so many different backs, you could take out.
58:28 --> 58:31 [UNKNOWN]: And I won't go into anyone in particular.
58:32 --> 58:39 [UNKNOWN]: But if you, there's very famous facts, certain battles, certain things people have said, you could take that fact.
58:40 --> 58:55 [UNKNOWN]: And unless you have the context of what led before it and led after it, of course, the, you know, all of our history, you know, professionals out there and academics in our listening audience, they're all like, yes, the context matters.
58:56 --> 59:02 [UNKNOWN]: If you have a prophetic dream and you see your baby being taken away, is that reality?
59:02 --> 59:03 [UNKNOWN]: What does that mean?
59:03 --> 59:04 [UNKNOWN]: What's going to happen in the baby?
59:04 --> 59:05 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know.
59:05 --> 59:07 [UNKNOWN]: You don't have any context for that.
59:07 --> 59:08 [UNKNOWN]: It's just a thing that's happening.
59:09 --> 59:10 [UNKNOWN]: Are you really on dream fire?
59:10 --> 59:13 [UNKNOWN]: Is that really something that's going to happen?
59:13 --> 59:19 [UNKNOWN]: Or you're in a farm yard and there's a solar eclipse in this violent winter storm?
59:21 --> 59:22 [UNKNOWN]: That's not reality.
59:22 --> 59:25 [UNKNOWN]: Is that some sort of indicating metaphor?
59:27 --> 59:32 [UNKNOWN]: right of something bigger to come, but not in a specific instance.
59:33 --> 59:41 [UNKNOWN]: So you can have these dreams, but it's just like a historical fact without context, without interpretation, without any other meaning around it.
59:42 --> 59:43 [UNKNOWN]: It's meaningless in a way.
59:44 --> 59:46 [UNKNOWN]: And Reneira is like,
59:47 --> 59:49 [UNKNOWN]: Well, where are these guys?
59:49 --> 59:50 [UNKNOWN]: What's happening in tumble town?
59:50 --> 59:56 [UNKNOWN]: And like, why can't you just like, you know, pop in and just be an omniscient eye and tell me exactly what's going on?
59:56 --> 59:57 [UNKNOWN]: It doesn't work that way.
59:58 --> 01:00:04 [UNKNOWN]: You know, I felt that she was mixing being a seer and being a dreamer and that.
01:00:04 --> 01:00:04 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
01:00:05 --> 01:00:05 [UNKNOWN]: All right.
01:00:06 --> 01:00:08 [UNKNOWN]: Like two different things.
01:00:09 --> 01:00:12 [UNKNOWN]: Like dreams are not necessarily prophecy.
01:00:14 --> 01:00:19 [UNKNOWN]: and being a seer, you can see what's happening.
01:00:20 --> 01:00:29 [UNKNOWN]: Right, we didn't brand was flying around and being able to land on a tree branch and like watching, listen exactly.
01:00:30 --> 01:00:39 [UNKNOWN]: And get context and understand sort of like what the whole of the situation is as opposed to just having this, a dream out of, yeah, with no context.
01:00:43 --> 01:00:46 [UNKNOWN]: making the distinction between those two things.
01:00:46 --> 01:00:46 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
01:00:47 --> 01:00:54 [UNKNOWN]: And I think it's interesting for us, too, as you know, to think about what power do dreams have and what interpretive power?
01:00:55 --> 01:00:56 [UNKNOWN]: Who's interpreting the dream?
01:00:56 --> 01:00:58 [UNKNOWN]: What are the contexts of the dream?
01:00:59 --> 01:01:00 [UNKNOWN]: How are we interpreting it?
01:01:00 --> 01:01:03 [UNKNOWN]: And I think they're putting that on us right now, like, oh, what does our dream mean?
01:01:03 --> 01:01:10 [UNKNOWN]: Like, there's right now a thousand YouTube videos are going out across the internet with everybody trying to interpret the lane is dream.
01:01:11 --> 01:01:12 [UNKNOWN]: What does the pale mayor mean?
01:01:13 --> 01:01:32 [UNKNOWN]: But again, I think this is to Raynar as, you know, detriment, this, this, I think this episode showed the cracks more than any other episode, show the cracks that she has in this role.
01:01:32 --> 01:01:36 [UNKNOWN]: Really starting to come, become unstable, permanently becoming unstable.
01:01:37 --> 01:01:39 [UNKNOWN]: And I don't have rule is becoming unstable.
01:01:40 --> 01:01:43 [UNKNOWN]: I am not saying she is becoming unstable.
01:01:43 --> 01:01:43 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
01:01:44 --> 01:01:44 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
01:01:44 --> 01:01:48 [UNKNOWN]: And I want to make that distinction clear because, you know,
01:01:49 --> 01:01:58 [UNKNOWN]: Game of Thrones gave us Danny becoming unstable, right, when there was no reason for that.
01:01:59 --> 01:02:08 [UNKNOWN]: So, I want to be clear, I hope again that they are not trying to set up a situation where
01:02:13 --> 01:02:21 [UNKNOWN]: in her room is unstable, her position is unstable, do not make this about her being unstable.
01:02:21 --> 01:02:22 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
01:02:23 --> 01:02:32 [UNKNOWN]: So I am really hoping because the cracks are certainly starting to show, and if they go in that direction, I'm going to be fucking pissed.
01:02:33 --> 01:02:35 [UNKNOWN]: I think a lot of people will be.
01:02:35 --> 01:02:37 [UNKNOWN]: I think a lot of people will be.
01:02:38 --> 01:02:39 [UNKNOWN]: And just really quick.
01:02:40 --> 01:02:41 [UNKNOWN]: Well, let's save it.
01:02:41 --> 01:02:59 [UNKNOWN]: Let's put a pin in that and try to remember this when we come back around to talk about Masaria and Reneira, because I think there's some important things there about choices that she's making and models that she's trying to use, you know, the reference
01:03:07 --> 01:03:10 [UNKNOWN]: Reneer needs to find her own center, not somebody else's center.
01:03:10 --> 01:03:11 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
01:03:11 --> 01:03:20 [UNKNOWN]: And that's the only way only can she find her truth and to rule from her truth, will things not be unstable, circumstentially around her.
01:03:21 --> 01:03:25 [UNKNOWN]: They she knows that intellectually I feel that she knows
01:03:27 --> 01:03:29 [UNKNOWN]: that she can't be her phone.
01:03:29 --> 01:03:30 [UNKNOWN]: She's learning that now.
01:03:30 --> 01:03:35 [UNKNOWN]: She was trying to do it, and she's, I think she's getting to the point where this is not working.
01:03:35 --> 01:03:37 [UNKNOWN]: I can't be him.
01:03:37 --> 01:03:38 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
01:03:38 --> 01:03:47 [UNKNOWN]: You know, not through any, you know, lacking on my part, but it's due to a tremendous lacking in our culture and our society.
01:03:48 --> 01:03:49 [UNKNOWN]: He thought of them then?
01:03:50 --> 01:03:50 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:03:50 --> 01:03:53 [UNKNOWN]: She has to come to that realization soon
01:03:57 --> 01:03:59 [UNKNOWN]: then this whole shit falls apart.
01:04:01 --> 01:04:05 [UNKNOWN]: Well, let's talk about some more shit falling apart at the small count of the paper.
01:04:06 --> 01:04:11 [UNKNOWN]: We've got the usual squabbling at the small council, council, manually complains about being a scapegoat.
01:04:11 --> 01:04:22 [UNKNOWN]: We've got no word from Coralis, Aaron Hall, and an absent-demon Adam and Baylor reporting in Massaria than presses Reneera as they walk in talk.
01:04:24 --> 01:04:42 [UNKNOWN]: So I think this is a good illumination of what's going on here because her small council doesn't represent a true extension of her will.
01:04:42 --> 01:04:47 [UNKNOWN]: Lady Frey was like, she put her on this small council just to shut her up, Mandela is a scapegoat.
01:04:47 --> 01:04:49 [UNKNOWN]: The only one that's really there
01:04:54 --> 01:04:56 [UNKNOWN]: the maester, right?
01:04:56 --> 01:04:57 [UNKNOWN]: He's not duplicitous.
01:04:57 --> 01:04:59 [UNKNOWN]: He's the grand maester, right?
01:04:59 --> 01:05:03 [UNKNOWN]: He's just trying to write easy and play it down the middle.
01:05:03 --> 01:05:05 [UNKNOWN]: So I think he's fine.
01:05:06 --> 01:05:10 [UNKNOWN]: Massaria is clearly increasingly in it for her own game.
01:05:13 --> 01:05:15 [UNKNOWN]: Damon is... Damon.
01:05:16 --> 01:05:16 [UNKNOWN]: Damon.
01:05:17 --> 01:05:19 [UNKNOWN]: And at least, Alan...
01:05:21 --> 01:05:23 [UNKNOWN]: his doing his best as a stand-in for the hand.
01:05:23 --> 01:05:25 [UNKNOWN]: But he's, he's junior, right?
01:05:26 --> 01:05:26 [UNKNOWN]: He's junior.
01:05:26 --> 01:05:27 [UNKNOWN]: He's not corollus.
01:05:27 --> 01:05:28 [UNKNOWN]: No.
01:05:30 --> 01:05:30 [UNKNOWN]: And he's able to do something.
01:05:30 --> 01:05:35 [UNKNOWN]: And he's the only guy in the South Pole, council meeting that actually gives him some, yes.
01:05:35 --> 01:05:37 [UNKNOWN]: He actually gives him positive for his product.
01:05:37 --> 01:05:40 [UNKNOWN]: Don't you know, he's actually done something.
01:05:42 --> 01:05:47 [UNKNOWN]: He actually did something to try to shore up her position.
01:05:48 --> 01:05:49 [UNKNOWN]: Not her own position, not me.
01:05:50 --> 01:05:51 [UNKNOWN]: Frey, like, oh, I can hear an hole.
01:05:51 --> 01:05:51 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, good.
01:05:51 --> 01:05:52 [UNKNOWN]: Bye.
01:05:52 --> 01:05:52 [UNKNOWN]: I'm out.
01:05:52 --> 01:05:53 [UNKNOWN]: Peace.
01:05:54 --> 01:05:55 [UNKNOWN]: And even that was done.
01:05:55 --> 01:05:56 [UNKNOWN]: So happens.
01:05:56 --> 01:05:57 [UNKNOWN]: So you're all go take it.
01:05:58 --> 01:05:59 [UNKNOWN]: Go ahead, take a call.
01:05:59 --> 01:06:00 [UNKNOWN]: Just get out of my face.
01:06:00 --> 01:06:00 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:06:01 --> 01:06:03 [UNKNOWN]: You know, the cracks are really starting to show.
01:06:03 --> 01:06:04 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
01:06:04 --> 01:06:06 [UNKNOWN]: You sound like you always bugging me.
01:06:06 --> 01:06:07 [UNKNOWN]: You'll get a cast when a house becomes a place.
01:06:07 --> 01:06:08 [UNKNOWN]: Exactly.
01:06:09 --> 01:06:09 [UNKNOWN]: Exactly.
01:06:10 --> 01:06:12 [UNKNOWN]: And it's just, you know, it's, um,
01:06:13 --> 01:06:20 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, it's tough to watch her, have to manage these people who are so not into her.
01:06:20 --> 01:06:21 [UNKNOWN]: They're not her people.
01:06:21 --> 01:06:22 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, that's her people.
01:06:24 --> 01:06:32 [UNKNOWN]: Right, the one person you could argue that can't isn't always the main rulers actual person is maybe the grandmaster, right?
01:06:32 --> 01:06:35 [UNKNOWN]: Because that's a whole order within itself.
01:06:35 --> 01:06:39 [UNKNOWN]: And they got to elect their dude that sort of, they are kind of like the joint chiefs of staff.
01:06:40 --> 01:06:40 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
01:06:40 --> 01:06:43 [UNKNOWN]: Like you can kind of have some influence in pick, but really,
01:06:44 --> 01:06:51 [UNKNOWN]: It's a pick amongst those people who get sort of forward and then you've got to make your piece with them and work with them.
01:06:51 --> 01:06:54 [UNKNOWN]: And they're supposed to be kind of neutral in a way, right?
01:06:54 --> 01:06:57 [UNKNOWN]: They're supposed to play it straight and not necessarily play sides.
01:06:57 --> 01:06:59 [UNKNOWN]: Maybe I'm reading too much into the the maesters, but.
01:07:01 --> 01:07:04 [UNKNOWN]: Anyway, you're looking at me suspicious like, yeah, I don't know.
01:07:04 --> 01:07:06 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know about the maceers, man.
01:07:06 --> 01:07:12 [UNKNOWN]: Well, not that they don't have their own things, but they do, they're like the post office.
01:07:12 --> 01:07:13 [UNKNOWN]: They got to play it kind of straight, right?
01:07:13 --> 01:07:16 [UNKNOWN]: Everybody's, you know, we got to get the mail delivered.
01:07:16 --> 01:07:17 [UNKNOWN]: We got to get the functions made.
01:07:17 --> 01:07:20 [UNKNOWN]: We got to make the poison like, and they'll always play a straight though.
01:07:20 --> 01:07:28 [UNKNOWN]: They don't always, I'm not saying that they do, but they play it more straight than, everybody's in for themselves.
01:07:29 --> 01:07:34 [UNKNOWN]: at the end of the day, everybody in the small council, whether they're your people or not, your people or not.
01:07:34 --> 01:07:36 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, or well, he is trying to save his neck too.
01:07:36 --> 01:07:37 [UNKNOWN]: They're all in it for themselves.
01:07:37 --> 01:07:37 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:07:39 --> 01:07:46 [UNKNOWN]: To your point, Allen is the only one that's done something on this small council to actually help her position.
01:07:47 --> 01:07:47 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:07:47 --> 01:07:49 [UNKNOWN]: Everyone else, they're not doing shit.
01:07:50 --> 01:07:51 [UNKNOWN]: And if whatever they're
01:07:58 --> 01:08:05 [UNKNOWN]: Hey, it looks like the only reason I'm here is so I could get belief for shit and they'll look up.
01:08:05 --> 01:08:09 [UNKNOWN]: Sorry is based when he says that she picks up her chalice and that was prizes.
01:08:09 --> 01:08:14 [UNKNOWN]: I want to make it give of that like oh not me like I'm not guilty.
01:08:14 --> 01:08:16 [UNKNOWN]: I didn't put your name out there.
01:08:18 --> 01:08:19 [UNKNOWN]: So good.
01:08:19 --> 01:08:21 [UNKNOWN]: But she's like, what do you want me to do about it?
01:08:21 --> 01:08:22 [UNKNOWN]: Like, we're in here.
01:08:22 --> 01:08:25 [UNKNOWN]: I was like, well, do they spewed shit on your door?
01:08:25 --> 01:08:27 [UNKNOWN]: What do you want me to do about that?
01:08:27 --> 01:08:27 [UNKNOWN]: This is it.
01:08:27 --> 01:08:28 [UNKNOWN]: This is the job.
01:08:30 --> 01:08:31 [UNKNOWN]: They're like, this is the job.
01:08:31 --> 01:08:35 [UNKNOWN]: We didn't read the post, it's not muffled.
01:08:36 --> 01:08:45 [UNKNOWN]: There's the two, remember, I was in episode three where we had that real POV on Reneera
01:08:47 --> 01:08:55 [UNKNOWN]: all of the things that she was feeling and there's a bunch of sound design stuff when Adam and Bala come in and report about sheep stealer.
01:08:56 --> 01:08:59 [UNKNOWN]: There's that low rumbling in the background of
01:09:01 --> 01:09:10 [UNKNOWN]: Reneer is, you know, and we get that close up over face in that rumbling, it's like the blood rushing in your head when you're having a strong emotional reaction to something.
01:09:10 --> 01:09:10 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:09:10 --> 01:09:13 [UNKNOWN]: So they use that sound design thing again, right?
01:09:13 --> 01:09:18 [UNKNOWN]: And they, they're kind of, they set it up earlier as a visual language for us.
01:09:18 --> 01:09:20 [UNKNOWN]: And then they brought it back again here.
01:09:20 --> 01:09:24 [UNKNOWN]: So Good job on the editing and story design.
01:09:29 --> 01:09:31 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:09:31 --> 01:09:38 [UNKNOWN]: And so there's this walk-in talk where Messiah is dripping honey into Reneera's ear.
01:09:40 --> 01:09:50 [UNKNOWN]: And again, this meditation on power, there's this tension on the point of views between Messiah's strategy and demons strategy that they're arguing.
01:09:50 --> 01:09:56 [UNKNOWN]: Damings like, sure up your security forces, use your power unconditionally, you have
01:10:00 --> 01:10:05 [UNKNOWN]: shape the kingdom as you see fit because that is your mandate to rule.
01:10:06 --> 01:10:08 [UNKNOWN]: You got the hair, you got the dragons, do it.
01:10:09 --> 01:10:24 [UNKNOWN]: And Missouri is like your power base is the people and the small folk and your long-range rule really needs to be, they need to see you, you need to drive your legitimacy from them, you need to be there, you know, connected to them and their voice
01:10:29 --> 01:10:37 [UNKNOWN]: these two theories of power that are being abicated by her two closest advisors.
01:10:39 --> 01:10:40 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
01:10:40 --> 01:10:46 [UNKNOWN]: And that there's that tension between how do you act, how does Reneera rule?
01:10:46 --> 01:10:50 [UNKNOWN]: What is her theory of the case of this is who I am?
01:10:50 --> 01:10:54 [UNKNOWN]: This is what my values are and this is how I'm going to execute on those.
01:10:55 --> 01:11:01 [UNKNOWN]: And there's two competing theories that are drawing her apart and neither of them really resonate with her as a person.
01:11:02 --> 01:11:02 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
01:11:02 --> 01:11:03 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
01:11:04 --> 01:11:07 [UNKNOWN]: but those two forces are pulling really hard at her.
01:11:08 --> 01:11:16 [UNKNOWN]: And that conversation with Messiah, like, hey, demons, you know, we know Damon is capable of a lot of things.
01:11:16 --> 01:11:26 [UNKNOWN]: So she's trying to use sort of a, not really an ad hominimate attack, but she's attacking these character rather than the theory of power.
01:11:26 --> 01:11:29 [UNKNOWN]: She's not addressing, hey, if we spend the gold on the,
01:11:31 --> 01:11:50 [UNKNOWN]: gold cloaks and then the people riot like that's not a good strategy right she's not addressing the mechanics of the theory of how to do this she's attacking demons character which is that really advancing her theory of the case he's there which is not doing anything to prop up her renaro's no
01:11:51 --> 01:11:58 [UNKNOWN]: is just placing trying to place herself in a better position vis-à-vis who has the Queen's ear.
01:11:59 --> 01:12:02 [UNKNOWN]: Wedging the power, yeah, wedging when person out of the power.
01:12:03 --> 01:12:06 [UNKNOWN]: And this is a gross miscalculation on her part.
01:12:09 --> 01:12:26 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, well, and we're going to see, so let's just sort of flow right through here because the next sort of three blocks of of text I have are Missari and Sylvia Missari is showing off the throne room and Missari making a plate of position herself as the ear of the queen for the small folks.
01:12:27 --> 01:12:39 [UNKNOWN]: And then we have Reneer and Damon talking while Linda Massey looks on and then Masaria and Reneerah and Masaria turning the tables on Reneerah.
01:12:39 --> 01:12:42 [UNKNOWN]: So it's all kind of a big piece here.
01:12:44 --> 01:12:48 [UNKNOWN]: Anything you want to say about Masaria and Sylvia in the throne room.
01:12:49 --> 01:12:53 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, I just love Sylvia, given her the business.
01:12:54 --> 01:12:59 [UNKNOWN]: Like, let me hear her see herself, like, you know, you brought me here to show off.
01:12:59 --> 01:13:03 [UNKNOWN]: He's like, oh, right.
01:13:03 --> 01:13:03 [UNKNOWN]: So what's the difference?
01:13:05 --> 01:13:11 [UNKNOWN]: Off wants to, you know, show everybody that he's a dragon rider and, you know, look at me now.
01:13:11 --> 01:13:14 [UNKNOWN]: What's what's the difference between what Massaria is doing here?
01:13:15 --> 01:13:28 [UNKNOWN]: And then on top of this, she's attempting to make herself a proxy for the queen, right, without getting the queens, you know, this is a grand, the grand visitor, like you got to go through me to get to the to the ruler,
01:13:33 --> 01:13:38 [UNKNOWN]: she's, she's grossly miscalculating her and Sylvia sees it all.
01:13:38 --> 01:13:40 [UNKNOWN]: She's like, I see your play.
01:13:40 --> 01:13:45 [UNKNOWN]: I don't think these people can get these people to be your people.
01:13:46 --> 01:13:49 [UNKNOWN]: And she calls out the inherent classes in the system, right?
01:13:49 --> 01:13:54 [UNKNOWN]: Like you, you came from somewhere and they will never see you as not that.
01:13:55 --> 01:13:55 [UNKNOWN]: Never.
01:13:55 --> 01:14:04 [UNKNOWN]: And we even, that was even highlighted in the small council meeting where Banderley's telling Frey, like, oh, yeah, that's the one that used to be the sex worker.
01:14:07 --> 01:14:09 [UNKNOWN]: So nice, nice hook there, right?
01:14:09 --> 01:14:14 [UNKNOWN]: They set that in the dialogue early and then like with Sylvia, it's like nicely.
01:14:14 --> 01:14:15 [UNKNOWN]: They cinch that up really well.
01:14:17 --> 01:14:25 [UNKNOWN]: I really love Sylvia's comment here about all the swords around the throne that they look like a hundred little small cocks, you know, poking up on them.
01:14:25 --> 01:14:29 [UNKNOWN]: Oh yeah, that's got to, right, boys and their toys.
01:14:29 --> 01:14:35 [UNKNOWN]: We had some family friends over visiting today and one family had several boys running around.
01:14:35 --> 01:14:39 [UNKNOWN]: First thing they do that in the yard, they grab sticks and they run around my sticks.
01:14:40 --> 01:14:44 [UNKNOWN]: It's just like, oh man, it's just there, right?
01:14:45 --> 01:14:50 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, God, because it's just, you know, yeah, that's seen man.
01:14:50 --> 01:14:56 [UNKNOWN]: I'm telling you, Sylvia, man, I love that she didn't, you know, back to come.
01:14:57 --> 01:14:57 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
01:14:58 --> 01:14:59 [UNKNOWN]: She was like, I know who you are.
01:14:59 --> 01:15:02 [UNKNOWN]: I know what I know.
01:15:02 --> 01:15:03 [UNKNOWN]: You be, be, be exact what you just said.
01:15:03 --> 01:15:05 [UNKNOWN]: I know who you are.
01:15:06 --> 01:15:08 [UNKNOWN]: And you, I know why you bought me in here.
01:15:09 --> 01:15:10 [UNKNOWN]: You're talking about the small folk.
01:15:10 --> 01:15:11 [UNKNOWN]: You didn't bring me in for that.
01:15:11 --> 01:15:13 [UNKNOWN]: You brought me in here to show off, fuck out of here.
01:15:14 --> 01:15:30 [UNKNOWN]: Then, so this is another interesting thing on this meditation of power thing, because Messiah advances the argument here, I can do more good to change the system from the inside than I can from the outside.
01:15:31 --> 01:15:38 [UNKNOWN]: Now, regardless of her authenticity around that argument, that is the argument that she advances to Sylvia.
01:15:38 --> 01:15:43 [UNKNOWN]: I'm on the inside now, and I can do, I can make changes from the inside, right?
01:15:44 --> 01:15:48 [UNKNOWN]: And that in, in a lot of political conversations, that is one of the conversations.
01:15:48 --> 01:15:54 [UNKNOWN]: Do you, do you go on the inside and work for change or do you stay on the outside and work for change?
01:15:55 --> 01:15:59 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, but you know what, I, I don't see how working for change.
01:16:00 --> 01:16:09 [UNKNOWN]: Right, regardless of what Mesaria's actual motivations and who she is as a person, there's just that argument that in political discourse.
01:16:09 --> 01:16:14 [UNKNOWN]: Do I join the new administration and try to influence the administration from the inside or from the outside?
01:16:14 --> 01:16:16 [UNKNOWN]: I agree with you.
01:16:17 --> 01:16:18 [UNKNOWN]: That is absolutely true.
01:16:18 --> 01:16:32 [UNKNOWN]: And it's a hard conversation to be like, because when you go inside, you have to compromise and you have to fit the system and you have to follow the dictates and the policy align, you have to be in alignment with the policy of that administration.
01:16:33 --> 01:16:37 [UNKNOWN]: Whereas on the outside, you can throw rocks and make noise and carry sign.
01:16:37 --> 01:16:38 [UNKNOWN]: You can do all kinds of stuff, right?
01:16:38 --> 01:16:43 [UNKNOWN]: And you can, or you can make good arguments, you can get other people elected.
01:16:43 --> 01:16:52 [UNKNOWN]: So how does change, what's the, in terms of a theory of change, how do you affect change in a political system?
01:16:53 --> 01:16:58 [UNKNOWN]: inside, you know, from the inside or the outside of it, I would say it's a combination of both.
01:16:59 --> 01:17:00 [UNKNOWN]: It's a whole salad of it, right?
01:17:00 --> 01:17:01 [UNKNOWN]: You got to have it all.
01:17:02 --> 01:17:03 [UNKNOWN]: It's a combination of both.
01:17:03 --> 01:17:10 [UNKNOWN]: And I think her idea of changing it from the inside seems to me strictly about getting
01:17:18 --> 01:17:25 [UNKNOWN]: that is not it because she believes that's the key that she is grossly underestimating.
01:17:26 --> 01:17:28 [UNKNOWN]: She isn't trying to make a line to a dayman.
01:17:28 --> 01:17:30 [UNKNOWN]: She hasn't tried to co-opt him.
01:17:30 --> 01:17:33 [UNKNOWN]: Not even dead or she's underestimating the ruling class.
01:17:38 --> 01:17:39 [UNKNOWN]: Very drink.
01:17:39 --> 01:17:41 [UNKNOWN]: Very true.
01:17:41 --> 01:17:44 [UNKNOWN]: If she really- Because the dayman has always been spouting the classes stuff, right?
01:17:44 --> 01:17:45 [UNKNOWN]: Always.
01:17:45 --> 01:17:46 [UNKNOWN]: Always.
01:17:47 --> 01:17:48 [UNKNOWN]: Sorry, Kerry, I don't know.
01:17:48 --> 01:17:49 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, no, it's okay.
01:17:50 --> 01:17:51 [UNKNOWN]: He's always been doing that.
01:17:51 --> 01:17:53 [UNKNOWN]: This is not something new.
01:17:53 --> 01:17:54 [UNKNOWN]: Everyone knows it.
01:17:55 --> 01:18:05 [UNKNOWN]: So if you think just because he's no longer in the ear of the queen, like he wasn't in the ear of his brother, right?
01:18:06 --> 01:18:08 [UNKNOWN]: His brother was in listening to everything that Damon told him to do.
01:18:10 --> 01:18:12 [UNKNOWN]: How'd that work out for everybody?
01:18:14 --> 01:18:31 [UNKNOWN]: So she really believes, like, and this is, this is just my thought, you know, from watching her is that if I could just get to him and out of the way, then I'll be able to, you know, I'll have more the queen in the direction that I think is best.
01:18:31 --> 01:18:33 [UNKNOWN]: She is grossly underestimating the ruling class.
01:18:35 --> 01:18:35 [UNKNOWN]: That's a really good point.
01:18:36 --> 01:18:36 [UNKNOWN]: I really like that.
01:18:38 --> 01:18:56 [UNKNOWN]: So let's talk about Damon, when he comes in to talk with Reneera, she asks, oh, Linda Massey to stay, right, which calls back to, wow, what was it on Dragonstone when he assaulted and abused her physically?
01:18:57 --> 01:18:59 [UNKNOWN]: She's like, not going to happen again.
01:19:03 --> 01:19:08 [UNKNOWN]: And she, so I got a couple of questions here.
01:19:13 --> 01:19:20 [UNKNOWN]: There's a really interesting comment that she drops, she says, what do you think I am when she says, like, you know, what, he, Damon being afraid.
01:19:20 --> 01:19:23 [UNKNOWN]: So there's a, man, there's a whole bunch going on in here, right?
01:19:23 --> 01:19:25 [UNKNOWN]: Because there's the, the whole,
01:19:26 --> 01:19:29 [UNKNOWN]: You've assaulted me before I'm not going to let that happen.
01:19:29 --> 01:19:33 [UNKNOWN]: There's Damon seeing that and then trying a soft approach.
01:19:33 --> 01:19:36 [UNKNOWN]: He's trying a soft approach to save the life of his daughter.
01:19:37 --> 01:19:40 [UNKNOWN]: She's reneers saying, who do you think I am?
01:19:40 --> 01:19:42 [UNKNOWN]: You think I'd just put her to death?
01:19:42 --> 01:19:43 [UNKNOWN]: Do you think I'm not kind of a monster, right?
01:19:43 --> 01:19:45 [UNKNOWN]: So there's that tension there.
01:19:45 --> 01:19:47 [UNKNOWN]: It was their answer, huh?
01:19:48 --> 01:19:49 [UNKNOWN]: What was his answer?
01:19:50 --> 01:19:51 [UNKNOWN]: Did he answer?
01:19:51 --> 01:19:53 [UNKNOWN]: I can't remember where he said you had the queen.
01:19:53 --> 01:19:54 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, yeah, right.
01:19:55 --> 01:20:24 [UNKNOWN]: So the expectation is yes, yes, you know, not just from Damon, but from everyone, everyone, the expectation is yes, you're going to put it fair on down, you know, if Helena has a baby, you got to put the baby dead, you know, so that's the expectation, so what do you think I am, that is the question of the hour, you are the queen, what does the queen have to do?
01:20:25 --> 01:20:40 [UNKNOWN]: And what is the queen expected to do and what am I going to do with in that overall circumstance and this to me again goes all the way back to that question of what is Reneera's theory of power and exercising power.
01:20:40 --> 01:20:41 [UNKNOWN]: She doesn't have one.
01:20:41 --> 01:20:45 [UNKNOWN]: And if I don't do these things, what do these things?
01:20:45 --> 01:20:47 [UNKNOWN]: What will the consequences?
01:20:48 --> 01:20:50 [UNKNOWN]: How will I be looked upon?
01:20:50 --> 01:20:50 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
01:20:51 --> 01:21:05 [UNKNOWN]: by my banners and my vassals as well as my enemies, yes, because we saw her small council on dragonstone certainly were had opinions about her her decisions, yes.
01:21:08 --> 01:21:17 [UNKNOWN]: But what they they never and this is what to Damon's point again, what they can't argue with or the dragons.
01:21:21 --> 01:21:23 [UNKNOWN]: You could say, all the shit you want to say.
01:21:24 --> 01:21:29 [UNKNOWN]: And if you take a swing, you better hope the poison works, or you better hope the assassin gets me.
01:21:29 --> 01:21:32 [UNKNOWN]: Because if that doesn't happen, the dragons are here.
01:21:33 --> 01:21:33 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
01:21:34 --> 01:21:34 [UNKNOWN]: The dragons.
01:21:35 --> 01:21:39 [UNKNOWN]: And I think this is what he's trying to tell her.
01:21:39 --> 01:21:42 [UNKNOWN]: Like you don't have to kill anyone.
01:21:42 --> 01:21:43 [UNKNOWN]: You don't have to kill Ray.
01:21:44 --> 01:21:45 [UNKNOWN]: Now you don't have to kill Deiron.
01:21:45 --> 01:21:47 [UNKNOWN]: You don't have to kill Halena's baby.
01:21:47 --> 01:21:49 [UNKNOWN]: You don't have to do any of that stuff.
01:21:50 --> 01:22:05 [UNKNOWN]: Because if you use the dragons, who's going to tell you otherwise, if they know the dragons are in play, like really in play, what are they going to say?
01:22:13 --> 01:22:17 [UNKNOWN]: And how much, how much flexing would she actually need to do?
01:22:18 --> 01:22:18 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
01:22:18 --> 01:22:27 [UNKNOWN]: Because where was it when, um, they, uh, was it, Brooks rests?
01:22:27 --> 01:22:34 [UNKNOWN]: It was one of the early coal campaigns where I was at Roonstone or, you know, trying to remember now.
01:22:35 --> 01:22:39 [UNKNOWN]: I've got a bunch of stuff to mix up on my head, but anyway, there were some dragon flexing earlier on in the season.
01:22:40 --> 01:22:51 [UNKNOWN]: And people were like, okay, we're good, we're like, yeah, we're not gonna, you know, we're not gonna mess with the dragon, you don't need to flex that hard.
01:22:53 --> 01:22:55 [UNKNOWN]: And you don't.
01:22:55 --> 01:22:59 [UNKNOWN]: And the thing is, I, again, this is just me.
01:23:01 --> 01:23:02 [UNKNOWN]: You have to dragon, right?
01:23:03 --> 01:23:03 [UNKNOWN]: You can use.
01:23:04 --> 01:23:16 [UNKNOWN]: But you also have Damon, who will just walk up to somebody and cut their head off without a second, don't it?
01:23:16 --> 01:23:16 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
01:23:18 --> 01:23:26 [UNKNOWN]: He would, without a second thought, he will walk up to somebody who's talking shit and killed them.
01:23:28 --> 01:23:29 [UNKNOWN]: He's done it before.
01:23:33 --> 01:23:34 [UNKNOWN]: call this his brother, rest in peace.
01:23:36 --> 01:23:37 [UNKNOWN]: We've seen it happen.
01:23:38 --> 01:23:39 [UNKNOWN]: I don't have the bastards cliploaded.
01:23:41 --> 01:23:42 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, that would have been epic.
01:23:42 --> 01:23:43 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:23:43 --> 01:23:43 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:23:45 --> 01:23:47 [UNKNOWN]: But we've seen these things happen, right?
01:23:47 --> 01:23:54 [UNKNOWN]: So he's telling her to use the power that things that you have at your disposal because you're the queen.
01:23:56 --> 01:24:08 [UNKNOWN]: And maybe the things that you really want to do in the way you really want to rule, you can start, but you can't start from where you're at right now.
01:24:08 --> 01:24:09 [UNKNOWN]: Mm-hmm.
01:24:12 --> 01:24:17 [UNKNOWN]: And that puts everything into an interesting light when we think about the fact that he's,
01:24:19 --> 01:24:24 [UNKNOWN]: He lied to her, but he didn't scheme against her.
01:24:24 --> 01:24:31 [UNKNOWN]: He was lying to protect his daughter and tried to serve the interests of the crown.
01:24:34 --> 01:24:37 [UNKNOWN]: But in so doing, he's violating the trust, right?
01:24:37 --> 01:24:42 [UNKNOWN]: Because of this idea, who, what do you think I am?
01:24:42 --> 01:24:44 [UNKNOWN]: You're the queen, you have to kill her, right?
01:24:46 --> 01:24:47 [UNKNOWN]: So they're trapped in this,
01:24:49 --> 01:24:57 [UNKNOWN]: construction of what's expected and how power is, how people perceive power should be exercised.
01:24:57 --> 01:24:58 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
01:24:58 --> 01:25:00 [UNKNOWN]: Ramads hurt his child from a previous marriage.
01:25:00 --> 01:25:02 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
01:25:03 --> 01:25:04 [UNKNOWN]: Changes things.
01:25:05 --> 01:25:05 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:25:06 --> 01:25:06 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:25:06 --> 01:25:10 [UNKNOWN]: He's calculating all of these things because he knows what he would have done.
01:25:11 --> 01:25:11 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
01:25:12 --> 01:25:13 [UNKNOWN]: He knows what's expected.
01:25:13 --> 01:25:14 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
01:25:15 --> 01:25:17 [UNKNOWN]: And so he's seeing her through that lens.
01:25:18 --> 01:25:18 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
01:25:18 --> 01:25:19 [UNKNOWN]: And that interpretation.
01:25:21 --> 01:25:22 [UNKNOWN]: So this is interesting now.
01:25:22 --> 01:25:23 [UNKNOWN]: We flip.
01:25:23 --> 01:25:41 [UNKNOWN]: So like I was saying, we have two, we have Reneer's two closest advisors in this episode trying to make a play for her to keep her sort of on their side and subscribing to their theory about how she should be operating.
01:25:47 --> 01:25:50 [UNKNOWN]: And she ends up seducing Reneera.
01:25:53 --> 01:25:56 [UNKNOWN]: But first I've got an audio clip for this one.
01:25:56 --> 01:25:59 [UNKNOWN]: Makes, let's see, do I have the right one queueed up here?
01:25:59 --> 01:26:02 [UNKNOWN]: I've had to only in your interest.
01:26:02 --> 01:26:04 [UNKNOWN]: You have swapped a turn me from him.
01:26:06 --> 01:26:12 [UNKNOWN]: Pouring your honey in my air, whispering, encouraging, seeking to make me in your image.
01:26:12 --> 01:26:20 [UNKNOWN]: In my image, your grace have, I ever counseled you to do what's but what this service would have you do in his place.
01:26:20 --> 01:26:23 [UNKNOWN]: As you have, of time said, is your own desire?
01:26:23 --> 01:26:24 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, I've been hewing to his vision.
01:26:25 --> 01:26:26 [UNKNOWN]: What have I raped?
01:26:27 --> 01:26:27 [UNKNOWN]: Peace?
01:26:28 --> 01:26:31 [UNKNOWN]: Prosperity, the gratitude of my subjects.
01:26:36 --> 01:26:46 [UNKNOWN]: She's like you were saying before, she's coming to grips that the Sarah's is not the model that she can follow.
01:26:47 --> 01:27:02 [UNKNOWN]: She cannot be him for a hundred reasons, but in my eyes first and foremost because of this misogynistic sexist culture that she is in.
01:27:05 --> 01:27:07 [UNKNOWN]: they will not allow her to be him.
01:27:07 --> 01:27:12 [UNKNOWN]: And so she has to chart a whole new path that she doesn't have a model for.
01:27:12 --> 01:27:13 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
01:27:14 --> 01:27:17 [UNKNOWN]: There's no one else she can follow in their footsteps.
01:27:17 --> 01:27:19 [UNKNOWN]: She has to chart this path.
01:27:19 --> 01:27:27 [UNKNOWN]: And she doesn't have the people around her to be giving her the thoughtful things to be thinking about how if we do this, what will happen that?
01:27:27 --> 01:27:28 [UNKNOWN]: What will be the reaction that, right?
01:27:28 --> 01:27:30 [UNKNOWN]: She doesn't have a small council that's actually
01:27:32 --> 01:27:36 [UNKNOWN]: her brain trust to work through these issues, right?
01:27:36 --> 01:27:38 [UNKNOWN]: She's handicapped, completely handicapped.
01:27:41 --> 01:27:51 [UNKNOWN]: And now, so I have a curious, great, I wonder, did a Linda Massey report to Missaria about Damon and her trying to have a conversation before?
01:27:51 --> 01:27:55 [UNKNOWN]: My thought is yes, because it was
01:27:57 --> 01:28:07 [UNKNOWN]: Massaria who sent a Linda into the city to be her agent, right, soften up King's Landing before they made their move.
01:28:07 --> 01:28:08 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, my thought is yes, yes.
01:28:08 --> 01:28:10 [UNKNOWN]: So she's still her creature.
01:28:12 --> 01:28:16 [UNKNOWN]: or dysmissariah have her like, oh, you know, we're, we're looking at you and me.
01:28:16 --> 01:28:20 [UNKNOWN]: It's you and me, Melinda, we got to look out after the queen, right?
01:28:20 --> 01:28:22 [UNKNOWN]: So make sure I know everything's going down or whatever.
01:28:22 --> 01:28:28 [UNKNOWN]: Could be both of those things, because she could be, you know, could be both, could be either or.
01:28:28 --> 01:28:30 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, they haven't shown us any indication.
01:28:30 --> 01:28:32 [UNKNOWN]: So I think it's an interesting question.
01:28:32 --> 01:28:35 [UNKNOWN]: Well, my head can, and it's like, yes, she's still working from Asaria.
01:28:35 --> 01:28:38 [UNKNOWN]: And as she told her about the, the talk.
01:28:38 --> 01:28:50 [UNKNOWN]: But then Reneira goes to Massaria to challenge her and Massaria changes up her tactics and seducers her.
01:28:52 --> 01:28:55 [UNKNOWN]: The manipulates her into this other position.
01:28:56 --> 01:29:05 [UNKNOWN]: I think she's underestimating, I think she's overestimating her own position, but she really is, to the detriment
01:29:07 --> 01:29:11 [UNKNOWN]: Ray Nara because she's not doing the things that she needs to be doing in order to help her.
01:29:13 --> 01:29:22 [UNKNOWN]: Which is what Nate, on the disco, has been saying for a long time and I haven't seen it, but this episode made that clear for me.
01:29:25 --> 01:29:26 [UNKNOWN]: Say more.
01:29:26 --> 01:29:28 [UNKNOWN]: No, it just, she's not.
01:29:30 --> 01:29:43 [UNKNOWN]: She's more wrapped up in Damon, me, me, Reinaura than she is, and what do I need to do to help Reinaura do what she needs to do?
01:29:43 --> 01:29:43 [UNKNOWN]: Get done.
01:29:43 --> 01:29:44 [UNKNOWN]: Sure, up her room.
01:29:44 --> 01:29:45 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
01:29:46 --> 01:29:55 [UNKNOWN]: Because I've not seen anything to suggest that she's actually, you know, listening to the whispers and feeding back that information to the right.
01:29:57 --> 01:30:03 [UNKNOWN]: what I have seen as her whispering to the queen about what she wants the queen to do.
01:30:03 --> 01:30:06 [UNKNOWN]: And right, right, which is different.
01:30:07 --> 01:30:11 [UNKNOWN]: She's not taking information that's being passed on.
01:30:12 --> 01:30:12 [UNKNOWN]: That's being said.
01:30:12 --> 01:30:14 [UNKNOWN]: Here's the intel briefing.
01:30:14 --> 01:30:21 [UNKNOWN]: Here's the regal daily briefing of like the state of the play of the Western House.
01:30:21 --> 01:30:23 [UNKNOWN]: Is the national security brief?
01:30:23 --> 01:30:23 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
01:30:29 --> 01:30:32 [UNKNOWN]: and this episode made that perfectly clear for me.
01:30:33 --> 01:30:42 [UNKNOWN]: She's overestimating her position and it's kind of, I'm telling you, don't she unbeknownst to make the ruling class and how much they like power?
01:30:43 --> 01:30:50 [UNKNOWN]: And interesting here, Damon goes in to try to have an intimacy and linear is like, I'm tired.
01:30:52 --> 01:30:57 [UNKNOWN]: but then Massaria makes her play and it happens.
01:30:57 --> 01:30:58 [UNKNOWN]: It goes down.
01:30:58 --> 01:31:00 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, because Massaria is not Damon in this moment.
01:31:01 --> 01:31:05 [UNKNOWN]: And he's not an instrument of direct betrayal, right?
01:31:05 --> 01:31:05 [UNKNOWN]: Like, yes.
01:31:06 --> 01:31:08 [UNKNOWN]: I looked at that skull a hundred times.
01:31:08 --> 01:31:11 [UNKNOWN]: Again, to my point earlier, Descent,
01:31:11 --> 01:31:17 [UNKNOWN]: your passion, the blame, from who it really should be on.
01:31:17 --> 01:31:22 [UNKNOWN]: That skull did not represent Jason's death.
01:31:22 --> 01:31:25 [UNKNOWN]: Jason himself was the cause of his death.
01:31:26 --> 01:31:26 [UNKNOWN]: Hmm.
01:31:27 --> 01:31:27 [UNKNOWN]: Interesting.
01:31:28 --> 01:31:34 [UNKNOWN]: It's a hard thing to believe and understand and to accept as a parent, right?
01:31:35 --> 01:31:37 [UNKNOWN]: But he'd locked you in the fucking room.
01:31:42 --> 01:31:51 [UNKNOWN]: seek blame and seek retribution and like yeah, you know, we have to, we have to, what is justice as opposed to retribution, revenge and retribution.
01:31:52 --> 01:32:02 [UNKNOWN]: He locked you in the room and told the people who told your queen's guard not to let you out so he can go fly out and play the hero.
01:32:02 --> 01:32:05 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, what you want to blame the skull.
01:32:09 --> 01:32:09 [UNKNOWN]: It's a mess.
01:32:10 --> 01:32:10 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, a mess.
01:32:11 --> 01:32:11 [UNKNOWN]: Big mess.
01:32:11 --> 01:32:19 [UNKNOWN]: I really like the inversion of power here with Mesaria topping Reneera and taking the lead in that situation.
01:32:20 --> 01:32:21 [UNKNOWN]: It's only because she lets her.
01:32:23 --> 01:32:23 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
01:32:23 --> 01:32:26 [UNKNOWN]: Well, that's the whole thinking we can top from the bottom, right?
01:32:26 --> 01:32:29 [UNKNOWN]: There's all the whole all that stuff.
01:32:29 --> 01:32:48 [UNKNOWN]: It's a great, again, it goes into who power and the seductiveness of power and who has power and in all kinds of situations and how does it feel when you give power to somebody else knowingly and allow yourself to be
01:32:51 --> 01:32:56 [UNKNOWN]: Managed by that person with their power and vice versa, right?
01:32:57 --> 01:33:00 [UNKNOWN]: It's just a whole bunch of psychology going on here.
01:33:00 --> 01:33:01 [UNKNOWN]: That's really super interesting.
01:33:01 --> 01:33:07 [UNKNOWN]: And this question that Reneera asks herself, Am I worthy of wielding this in this moment?
01:33:07 --> 01:33:11 [UNKNOWN]: Am I worthy of being the ruler of the seven kingdoms?
01:33:13 --> 01:33:13 [UNKNOWN]: Right?
01:33:15 --> 01:33:18 [UNKNOWN]: And I am worthy of wielding this power.
01:33:19 --> 01:33:21 [UNKNOWN]: So really, I think it's a really great team.
01:33:21 --> 01:33:30 [UNKNOWN]: I think it's really fascinating from all these angles of manipulation and power and how do you wield power?
01:33:30 --> 01:33:32 [UNKNOWN]: What does power do when you hold it?
01:33:32 --> 01:33:35 [UNKNOWN]: What does it power do when you give it away, right?
01:33:37 --> 01:33:43 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, and she's been constantly told this season to use your power.
01:33:45 --> 01:33:53 [UNKNOWN]: And in this moment, she uses her power to allow somebody else to be on top of her, right?
01:33:53 --> 01:33:55 [UNKNOWN]: Because if she said, no, like, she still has the power, right?
01:33:55 --> 01:33:56 [UNKNOWN]: She's still the queen.
01:33:56 --> 01:33:58 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, yeah, yeah, that's what I'm saying.
01:33:58 --> 01:33:59 [UNKNOWN]: She allowed that situation.
01:33:59 --> 01:33:59 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:34:00 --> 01:34:01 [UNKNOWN]: So interesting.
01:34:01 --> 01:34:02 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
01:34:02 --> 01:34:05 [UNKNOWN]: She wanted it to, so the power never really left her.
01:34:07 --> 01:34:14 [UNKNOWN]: All right, let's take another break, and then we'll fly over to Heron Hall and get it really half too.
01:34:15 --> 01:34:16 [UNKNOWN]: The freakyness.
01:34:16 --> 01:34:20 [UNKNOWN]: We could gotta get through it quickly, we don't have to go too much, we'll be right back.
01:34:36 --> 01:34:41 [UNKNOWN]: And we're back, and we're gonna drop into Heron Hall from some grossness here.
01:34:42 --> 01:34:44 [UNKNOWN]: Uh, I don't know, do we need to say any more?
01:34:44 --> 01:34:49 [UNKNOWN]: I'm, I'm fine not talking about this scene with the Allison and, and, uh, Damon.
01:34:50 --> 01:34:52 [UNKNOWN]: Damon, yeah.
01:34:52 --> 01:34:55 [UNKNOWN]: The, uh, sorry, Damon, Damon, so that's interesting, right?
01:34:55 --> 01:35:03 [UNKNOWN]: Because they're doing this whole parallel thing with, uh, these Targaryen boys, in Heron Hall and all's they want, these silly boys.
01:35:04 --> 01:35:11 [UNKNOWN]: And didn't, in Damon's dream, didn't his mother say something similar to him.
01:35:11 --> 01:35:13 [UNKNOWN]: My best and truest son.
01:35:13 --> 01:35:14 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, thanks.
01:35:14 --> 01:35:17 [UNKNOWN]: And he had a dream of being with his mother in bed as well.
01:35:17 --> 01:35:20 [UNKNOWN]: So like, they're really overlap in these two.
01:35:20 --> 01:35:29 [UNKNOWN]: So I don't know when we get to the Pantine Bowl, like a men and a needs and I need some resolution between these between unclean and nephew here.
01:35:31 --> 01:35:40 [UNKNOWN]: Interesting though, this whole hair and whole dream and reality thing like you never in hair and all you never really know what's If you know Wake you dreaming.
01:35:40 --> 01:35:57 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, so and as we were very well done The the setting is creepy enough for it to be like a question, you know, and it's just they play it off very well and I kind of sit this last week
01:35:59 --> 01:36:05 [UNKNOWN]: But I need Alice to do some witch shit.
01:36:10 --> 01:36:11 [UNKNOWN]: I need the magic.
01:36:12 --> 01:36:13 [UNKNOWN]: You need an advocate.
01:36:13 --> 01:36:14 [UNKNOWN]: I need a wand.
01:36:14 --> 01:36:18 [UNKNOWN]: I need something puff of light and smoke and give me something.
01:36:18 --> 01:36:20 [UNKNOWN]: Please just give me something.
01:36:21 --> 01:36:23 [UNKNOWN]: I never really read any of the Harry Potter.
01:36:23 --> 01:36:27 [UNKNOWN]: So I can't spout off any spell names from that book series.
01:36:27 --> 01:36:28 [UNKNOWN]: So it missed me.
01:36:28 --> 01:36:30 [UNKNOWN]: It was just don't don't add me about the Harry Potter thing.
01:36:30 --> 01:36:32 [UNKNOWN]: I was just a little too old for it.
01:36:32 --> 01:36:34 [UNKNOWN]: And I know it's going to enjoy it.
01:36:34 --> 01:36:35 [UNKNOWN]: I read the first book.
01:36:35 --> 01:36:35 [UNKNOWN]: I'd long time ago.
01:36:36 --> 01:36:39 [UNKNOWN]: But anyway, don't add me.
01:36:41 --> 01:36:42 [UNKNOWN]: So Allison, Amen and Alice.
01:36:43 --> 01:36:46 [UNKNOWN]: So let's talk about this whole funny little interesting situation.
01:36:48 --> 01:37:11 [UNKNOWN]: Allison explains her journey, or the real Allison, will the real Allison please step forward, explains her journey and introduces Amin to Sir Adrian, who gets shanked immediately, and then Alice and Amin and Allison share a meal together, Amin reveals his plans to make her and all his new seat of power, and birthing a new line of un-solid kings.
01:37:12 --> 01:37:39 [UNKNOWN]: Alice and Amen argue over the wood pile and Alice and Hatches Alice and then Hatches a desperate plan later Alice and brings Amen a chalice of poisoned wine which is very very Shakespearean of her very very hammered go check out our Hamlet coverage from earlier this year Alisha and I had some fun checking out the new deft Patel interpretation of Hamlet it's very good by the way really enjoyed that
01:37:41 --> 01:38:04 [UNKNOWN]: uh... poor ser Adrian do you got shank quit i mean and his explanation is like there are things that i can't show anybody who i don't trust right this is uh... top secret situation and i don't know this dude so gotta go and i had to respect it
01:38:06 --> 01:38:08 [UNKNOWN]: I had to watch the scene again.
01:38:08 --> 01:38:10 [UNKNOWN]: He has his hands on the sword.
01:38:16 --> 01:38:22 [UNKNOWN]: And he offers, so what he is it now, now I'm trying to recreate the scene of my seat.
01:38:22 --> 01:38:33 [UNKNOWN]: So he has his left hand on the sword, he puts it down, he offers his right hand to shake, and he uses his off hand to draw the dagger and stick him.
01:38:34 --> 01:38:39 [UNKNOWN]: So like it was really, really good play because he's got to be right hand, he's got to be right hand.
01:38:45 --> 01:38:49 [UNKNOWN]: So, but anyway, he offered one hand and then stabbed him with the other hand.
01:38:49 --> 01:38:59 [UNKNOWN]: So that was like a really, really sweet move by Amin, like a really, like, you know, he sized up his enemy, figured out a little strategy and made it happen.
01:38:59 --> 01:39:03 [UNKNOWN]: So, I'm in love Alice, just walking about, dinner time.
01:39:05 --> 01:39:11 [UNKNOWN]: And then the look between Alice, Alice, it's an aim and it's just like it's going on.
01:39:12 --> 01:39:13 [UNKNOWN]: Just another Tuesday.
01:39:13 --> 01:39:15 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, exactly, an air and all.
01:39:16 --> 01:39:17 [UNKNOWN]: Just another Tuesday.
01:39:18 --> 01:39:20 [UNKNOWN]: A nice little trick too.
01:39:20 --> 01:39:25 [UNKNOWN]: They just when she says it's dinner time, then we jump to the dinner time in Tumbleton.
01:39:25 --> 01:39:28 [UNKNOWN]: But we're going to stay here in her and all for a minute, but it was a nice little jump cut there.
01:39:29 --> 01:39:35 [UNKNOWN]: When Alice was talking about that there's a dark cloud around Alice synth.
01:39:36 --> 01:39:42 [UNKNOWN]: I couldn't help but think about Rogue One when was it?
01:39:42 --> 01:39:49 [UNKNOWN]: Tierit was saying, oh yeah, when somebody's going to kill, there's a dark cloud around the force as a dark cloud around them.
01:39:49 --> 01:39:51 [UNKNOWN]: So, but I didn't pull the Rogue One clip.
01:39:51 --> 01:39:54 [UNKNOWN]: So, I spared everybody a lot of time this week.
01:39:54 --> 01:39:55 [UNKNOWN]: But it made me think of that.
01:39:56 --> 01:40:00 [UNKNOWN]: Alice, yeah, so it makes me question like, what is Alice's power?
01:40:00 --> 01:40:01 [UNKNOWN]: How is she tapped in?
01:40:03 --> 01:40:14 [UNKNOWN]: Again, we imagine to see magic shit from bottom line, if I don't get magic shit from that, it's a big big piece of shit.
01:40:14 --> 01:40:15 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:40:15 --> 01:40:15 [UNKNOWN]: Very upset.
01:40:17 --> 01:40:18 [UNKNOWN]: A couple other things.
01:40:18 --> 01:40:20 [UNKNOWN]: I just love the whole U-targaryen boys.
01:40:21 --> 01:40:22 [UNKNOWN]: All you want is the same thing, don't you?
01:40:22 --> 01:40:23 [UNKNOWN]: That was just very funny.
01:40:23 --> 01:40:26 [UNKNOWN]: And then that obviously references the demon stuff.
01:40:27 --> 01:40:38 [UNKNOWN]: And so Alice's ploy here, she first tried to capture Damand, but the tree gave him a vision of the prophecy and he was like, no, I'm out of here.
01:40:38 --> 01:40:43 [UNKNOWN]: So she's like, oh, bummer, but now, oh, I got another target area in boy here.
01:40:43 --> 01:40:44 [UNKNOWN]: He's super.
01:40:44 --> 01:40:45 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, he's super.
01:40:50 --> 01:40:51 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:40:51 --> 01:40:54 [UNKNOWN]: So so she's been about it this whole time, right?
01:40:54 --> 01:40:55 [UNKNOWN]: That's been her play.
01:40:55 --> 01:41:00 [UNKNOWN]: So like I think I'm going to have to renounce my allegiance to Alice and really.
01:41:00 --> 01:41:00 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:41:01 --> 01:41:01 [UNKNOWN]: Why?
01:41:01 --> 01:41:03 [UNKNOWN]: Because it's just so boring.
01:41:03 --> 01:41:09 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, you wanted some dark babies and, you know, some dragon eggs and I thought she, you know, I thought she was kind of
01:41:10 --> 01:41:22 [UNKNOWN]: this chaotic good force that was stirring the pot and sort of moving us forward towards the prophecy and and ensuring the line of the prophecy.
01:41:23 --> 01:41:27 [UNKNOWN]: But it just feels like she's out for her own power ends, right?
01:41:27 --> 01:41:28 [UNKNOWN]: Like everybody else.
01:41:28 --> 01:41:29 [UNKNOWN]: Just like everybody else.
01:41:31 --> 01:41:31 [UNKNOWN]: kind of disappointing.
01:41:31 --> 01:41:38 [UNKNOWN]: I thought she was like a connected with old gods and the little dudes that live in the trees.
01:41:38 --> 01:41:39 [UNKNOWN]: I forget their names.
01:41:39 --> 01:41:41 [UNKNOWN]: You can add me about that if you want.
01:41:42 --> 01:41:50 [UNKNOWN]: And that she was just trying to move us in a, you know, move everybody in a general, hurting the cats in a general direction.
01:41:50 --> 01:41:56 [UNKNOWN]: But yeah, it just seems like she's, she's got designs like everybody else has
01:41:59 --> 01:42:13 [UNKNOWN]: Anyway, Allison, when she goes to pull the dagger from Sir Adrian, and she sees the flower, that apparently is the night shade, the deadly night shader, whatever, and that's a callback.
01:42:13 --> 01:42:20 [UNKNOWN]: It's interesting, it's a whole callback to Helena being in the godswood in King's Landing and the red keep.
01:42:21 --> 01:42:27 [UNKNOWN]: and playing with her kid and there was a caterpillar on the leaves and it's like, oh, you know, that caterpillar eats that poisonous thing.
01:42:27 --> 01:42:28 [UNKNOWN]: So don't eat that.
01:42:29 --> 01:42:31 [UNKNOWN]: And then she has the caterpillar in a cage later.
01:42:32 --> 01:42:36 [UNKNOWN]: So Allison has that in her mind.
01:42:36 --> 01:42:38 [UNKNOWN]: Like, oh, that plant is poisonous.
01:42:38 --> 01:42:46 [UNKNOWN]: And so that sort of is a whole inter episode connection between Helena and Allison poisoning her.
01:42:50 --> 01:42:52 [UNKNOWN]: Talk about a messed up family, man.
01:42:52 --> 01:42:53 [UNKNOWN]: Talk about Shakespearean.
01:42:53 --> 01:42:54 [UNKNOWN]: Like this is something.
01:42:54 --> 01:42:56 [UNKNOWN]: I'm a messed up family, a messed up dinner.
01:42:57 --> 01:42:59 [UNKNOWN]: Just terrible.
01:43:02 --> 01:43:04 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, mom, mom's gonna stay.
01:43:04 --> 01:43:05 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, is she?
01:43:09 --> 01:43:18 [UNKNOWN]: And then when when he collapses at her feet after drinking the poison, he's stupid boy.
01:43:18 --> 01:43:21 [UNKNOWN]: So she saw the play way before it started.
01:43:21 --> 01:43:26 [UNKNOWN]: And she's like, this dumb ass saved this dumb ass.
01:43:27 --> 01:43:27 [UNKNOWN]: So good.
01:43:27 --> 01:43:32 [UNKNOWN]: So even though it's creepy and gross in her and all, there's some good, good lighthearted humor here.
01:43:33 --> 01:43:40 [UNKNOWN]: Speaking of comedies on the road, let's go over to Brooks Rest and Aegon, Larissa and Thailand.
01:43:42 --> 01:43:51 [UNKNOWN]: Out on the road, the trio and counter civilians fleeing the advancing army of House Mutin, they turned back to Seek Shelter and Brooks Rest.
01:43:52 --> 01:44:00 [UNKNOWN]: And, but then they find another part of that army in front of them, so they decide to make a last stand and Larissa pieces out.
01:44:01 --> 01:44:21 [UNKNOWN]: Real quick note, House Mootin is seated at Maidenpool, which is north west of Rook's rest, and it's a vassal of House Tully, and Maidenpool is a big trading port, a very rich city, big wall town, very important.
01:44:22 --> 01:44:29 [UNKNOWN]: And so it sounds like Muten is on the march, so we need a new chip on the table there to track those guys.
01:44:30 --> 01:44:34 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, some of them got burned, but I'm assuming that it's still most of that army is intact.
01:44:36 --> 01:44:38 [UNKNOWN]: This is all, but just kind of basic setup.
01:44:39 --> 01:44:42 [UNKNOWN]: to get Aegon his dragon back.
01:44:43 --> 01:45:01 [UNKNOWN]: So once they're confronted, we hear the T-rex stomping in the background as Aegon has his mad little power trippy moment and dracaris is the mutant army.
01:45:02 --> 01:45:05 [UNKNOWN]: What did you make of this whole scenario here?
01:45:06 --> 01:45:09 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, it was fine for what it was.
01:45:11 --> 01:45:15 [UNKNOWN]: I'm happy that we get to see that A-gon has not changed.
01:45:16 --> 01:45:19 [UNKNOWN]: Right, and he's a little bit more insane, even?
01:45:19 --> 01:45:20 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, yes.
01:45:21 --> 01:45:32 [UNKNOWN]: So I was very happy for that development to show out that all the supposed growth in that he's done on this journey.
01:45:33 --> 01:45:33 [UNKNOWN]: Little wisdom.
01:45:37 --> 01:45:48 [UNKNOWN]: Because as soon as I was back, looking half-faced, I felt bad for so far, like, oh, man.
01:45:49 --> 01:45:51 [UNKNOWN]: I liked that attention to detail though.
01:45:51 --> 01:45:56 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, because that was the side of face that it was in the dirt and down in there and mulled up and everything.
01:45:56 --> 01:45:58 [UNKNOWN]: And so look at all snaggles too.
01:45:58 --> 01:45:59 [UNKNOWN]: And then all of that.
01:45:59 --> 01:46:00 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, that was great.
01:46:00 --> 01:46:04 [UNKNOWN]: I just say, as soon as he turned around, it's on fire.
01:46:05 --> 01:46:11 [UNKNOWN]: turn back around dracaris and it was, you know, everything that he wanted.
01:46:11 --> 01:46:13 [UNKNOWN]: This is all that he wanted.
01:46:13 --> 01:46:15 [UNKNOWN]: And then he has that little maniacal laugh at the end.
01:46:15 --> 01:46:15 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
01:46:16 --> 01:46:16 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
01:46:17 --> 01:46:23 [UNKNOWN]: So, yeah, Aegon is exactly who I thought he was.
01:46:24 --> 01:46:26 [UNKNOWN]: And nothing has changed for that boy.
01:46:28 --> 01:46:30 [UNKNOWN]: The burnt king remains the burnt king.
01:46:32 --> 01:46:39 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know whether Larrish will suffer at Aegon's hand for abandoning him.
01:46:40 --> 01:46:49 [UNKNOWN]: He gave him, though, yes, I know he gave him, though, okay, but now that some fire back is the that okay still stand.
01:46:50 --> 01:46:51 [UNKNOWN]: Good question.
01:46:51 --> 01:46:52 [UNKNOWN]: Do you then stay by my side?
01:46:53 --> 01:46:57 [UNKNOWN]: The only one who did was Tylenol Smart.
01:46:57 --> 01:46:59 [UNKNOWN]: He heard that your car received got down on that knee.
01:46:59 --> 01:47:01 [UNKNOWN]: He bent the knee immediately.
01:47:02 --> 01:47:04 [UNKNOWN]: Real quick, he bent the knee.
01:47:04 --> 01:47:06 [UNKNOWN]: Let me get out of the way of this dragon fire.
01:47:06 --> 01:47:17 [UNKNOWN]: And so, yeah, it was, I think it was, which again, interesting, like if we parallel egg on with Reneera,
01:47:18 --> 01:47:44 [UNKNOWN]: and having willing to do that was that was unwilling at this point to put others in harm's way right but if we if we parallel the the two right the the Queen and the King here and there are two advisors right you've got lyrus on one hand on one shoulder and Thailand on the other and with Reneera we have Damon and and uh missaria on one on the other shoulder just to
01:47:48 --> 01:47:55 [UNKNOWN]: People are talking in the ear of power and getting them to, you know, do this.
01:47:55 --> 01:48:01 [UNKNOWN]: Just so, Aegon was like, okay, cool, let's go to Bravo's, right?
01:48:02 --> 01:48:05 [UNKNOWN]: You, you, let us are speaking truths to power here.
01:48:05 --> 01:48:12 [UNKNOWN]: You're speaking to me, you're not infantilizing me, you're not being obsequious, you're saying it like it is.
01:48:12 --> 01:48:13 [UNKNOWN]: Like, okay, I like that.
01:48:14 --> 01:48:16 [UNKNOWN]: But then when it times to throw down,
01:48:19 --> 01:48:23 [UNKNOWN]: You know about, so what do I make of you?
01:48:23 --> 01:48:27 [UNKNOWN]: We're Thailand, who is kind of a bit of a bootlicker.
01:48:28 --> 01:48:36 [UNKNOWN]: At least he's got the spine to stand by my side with a shorn drawn and go down swinging with every last breath that he had.
01:48:37 --> 01:48:44 [UNKNOWN]: So that's an interesting, that's just an interesting juxtaposition between the two little creatures sitting on his shoulders.
01:48:47 --> 01:48:55 [UNKNOWN]: I don't think there's a one to one with Damon and, and, and, sorry, but it's just interesting when, you know, who's in the orbit of the, the person who has power.
01:48:55 --> 01:49:01 [UNKNOWN]: And again, meditations on power, Egon has the legitimate trappings of power.
01:49:01 --> 01:49:02 [UNKNOWN]: He was anointed.
01:49:03 --> 01:49:28 [UNKNOWN]: in the september right he by the by the high septon and he has a dragon right so he has power and he has people who are fighting in the kingdom actively for the restoration of his rule right so he has power and he is on worthy of that power and his restoration of his line yeah because yeah
01:49:31 --> 01:49:47 [UNKNOWN]: The guy, I wonder if, if, or mind, were to hear, interesting, right, what would he, what would be the thought process here?
01:49:48 --> 01:49:54 [UNKNOWN]: Because there's no way agon, agon, and, or mind, are getting along.
01:49:55 --> 01:49:59 [UNKNOWN]: Those two are gonna clash the moment they lock eyes on each other.
01:50:01 --> 01:50:02 [UNKNOWN]: What's that?
01:50:02 --> 01:50:03 [UNKNOWN]: I said, what's the thought process?
01:50:04 --> 01:50:05 [UNKNOWN]: What would all months thought process be?
01:50:06 --> 01:50:14 [UNKNOWN]: He'd be like, this guy is undisciplined, untrained, unstudied.
01:50:15 --> 01:50:27 [UNKNOWN]: He's a power-hungry little mongrel who just wants to, like if you look at Agons history, like being, you know, how many bastards has ensired down in flee bottom?
01:50:28 --> 01:50:49 [UNKNOWN]: you know, in the fighting, you know, the, the kids in the fighting pits, all that stuff, the way that he treats his staff, you know, raping his, his, his domestic servants, wielding the drag, you know, you know, like, okay, yeah, you know, blow your enemies away, fine, but then he's like maniacal about it, right?
01:50:51 --> 01:50:52 [UNKNOWN]: As the white hair.
01:50:53 --> 01:50:55 [UNKNOWN]: Right, and he's tainted, right?
01:50:55 --> 01:50:56 [UNKNOWN]: He's got, he's tainted by the blood.
01:50:56 --> 01:50:59 [UNKNOWN]: He's a pure blood Targaryen.
01:51:02 --> 01:51:18 [UNKNOWN]: And because Aegon is clearly anti-intellectual, like he, you know, where Ormond is like study the histories, know the patterns, you know, be able to quote the scripture, whatever, right, you know, you have to be intellectual and think about
01:51:20 --> 01:51:23 [UNKNOWN]: and understand the history of this realm to relate.
01:51:24 --> 01:51:26 [UNKNOWN]: Everything on one is doing right now.
01:51:26 --> 01:51:28 [UNKNOWN]: It's for to have a puppet on the throne.
01:51:29 --> 01:51:29 [UNKNOWN]: Exactly.
01:51:32 --> 01:51:33 [UNKNOWN]: Everything is done.
01:51:33 --> 01:51:33 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:51:34 --> 01:51:35 [UNKNOWN]: So now that they're gone, it's back.
01:51:37 --> 01:51:42 [UNKNOWN]: And if he hears of this before the battle, what are the calculations that he makes?
01:51:43 --> 01:51:47 [UNKNOWN]: He's got to be able to sing that song and dance to say that we thought you were dead.
01:51:47 --> 01:51:53 [UNKNOWN]: And so we were just taking the next, you know, your brother, you weren't around, your brother wasn't around.
01:51:53 --> 01:52:02 [UNKNOWN]: So we had to take your next brother and put him like we're just trying to preserve his face under coins.
01:52:02 --> 01:52:03 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:52:04 --> 01:52:05 [UNKNOWN]: That's going to be a hard one to sell.
01:52:06 --> 01:52:08 [UNKNOWN]: I don't think, I'm not saying it's going to be easy.
01:52:08 --> 01:52:10 [UNKNOWN]: I don't think everyone would have an easy, easy go of it.
01:52:11 --> 01:52:13 [UNKNOWN]: But that's how what are you going to do?
01:52:14 --> 01:52:18 [UNKNOWN]: Or you now have to deal a jidimized egg on in some way.
01:52:19 --> 01:52:19 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
01:52:20 --> 01:52:23 [UNKNOWN]: And which that's going to get messy.
01:52:23 --> 01:52:23 [UNKNOWN]: Cannot.
01:52:25 --> 01:52:32 [UNKNOWN]: Because he's been because the egg on was legitimately anointed by the septum, by the high tower's own religion that they sponsor.
01:52:32 --> 01:52:36 [UNKNOWN]: And he has a dragon and is not going to use the dragon.
01:52:36 --> 01:52:36 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
01:52:38 --> 01:52:39 [UNKNOWN]: He's very happy to use this dragon.
01:52:39 --> 01:52:39 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
01:52:42 --> 01:52:46 [UNKNOWN]: So, yeah, this is an interesting scene now that we are unpacking a little bit more.
01:52:46 --> 01:52:47 [UNKNOWN]: It's a little bit more interesting.
01:52:47 --> 01:52:49 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, I'm glad A-Gone has this dragon bag.
01:52:51 --> 01:52:54 [UNKNOWN]: Even though the setup for it was a little Deus Ex Machina, right?
01:52:54 --> 01:52:56 [UNKNOWN]: Like, oh, okay, like, what's gonna happen?
01:52:56 --> 01:52:58 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, the dragon comes out of the woods, right?
01:52:58 --> 01:52:58 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:52:58 --> 01:52:58 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:52:58 --> 01:53:04 [UNKNOWN]: And she's this sword, and then we, the moment that you take to sort out, we hear the stomping of the dragon, the woods and the dark.
01:53:04 --> 01:53:04 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
01:53:05 --> 01:53:08 [UNKNOWN]: But it was still cool to see Sunfire.
01:53:09 --> 01:53:10 [UNKNOWN]: You know, I miss, and again,
01:53:12 --> 01:53:19 [UNKNOWN]: goes back to what I said earlier in the bond between dragons and dragon writers because sunfire track them down.
01:53:19 --> 01:53:20 [UNKNOWN]: Mmm hmm.
01:53:21 --> 01:53:22 [UNKNOWN]: That dragon myfai.
01:53:23 --> 01:53:24 [UNKNOWN]: But dragon myfai.
01:53:26 --> 01:53:37 [UNKNOWN]: And in Senpai, I just didn't come in raging and just burning at the forest and, you know, whatever came in and like, hey, I'm back, I'm back.
01:53:37 --> 01:53:38 [UNKNOWN]: I'm right behind you.
01:53:38 --> 01:53:39 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, you want me to the cars?
01:53:39 --> 01:53:40 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, to the cars.
01:53:41 --> 01:53:42 [UNKNOWN]: No, but I got I'm right behind you.
01:53:42 --> 01:53:43 [UNKNOWN]: You're okay.
01:53:44 --> 01:53:45 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, what we do.
01:53:45 --> 01:53:47 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, we're like these guys up.
01:53:47 --> 01:53:48 [UNKNOWN]: All right.
01:53:48 --> 01:53:49 [UNKNOWN]: I got it.
01:53:49 --> 01:53:49 [UNKNOWN]: Cool.
01:53:49 --> 01:53:49 [UNKNOWN]: What we do.
01:53:51 --> 01:54:15 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, that's a really good point and this whole episode we've had we've seen a lot of dragon and dragon rider interaction Biting yeah, and the extent of control and connectivity, which is also one has which is also why don't necessarily by reina leaving so easily in the back of side racks yes like giving that up so easily
01:54:23 --> 01:54:26 [UNKNOWN]: You don't have to kill me on the spot at this point, but I'm not leaving my dragon.
01:54:27 --> 01:54:31 [UNKNOWN]: And my dragon is not leaving me, which is why my dragon is fighting.
01:54:32 --> 01:54:32 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:54:34 --> 01:54:37 [UNKNOWN]: And when Syrax took off, like, she'd be didn't take off.
01:54:37 --> 01:54:41 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, yeah, you know, why we can... Oh, but she was, you know, preoccupied.
01:54:41 --> 01:54:42 [UNKNOWN]: They jumped them.
01:54:42 --> 01:54:42 [UNKNOWN]: It's true.
01:54:43 --> 01:54:44 [UNKNOWN]: And yeah, yeah.
01:54:46 --> 01:54:48 [UNKNOWN]: So, anyway, okay.
01:54:48 --> 01:54:50 [UNKNOWN]: Right, anything else in this?
01:54:50 --> 01:54:52 [UNKNOWN]: Otherwise, we can jump to Tumbleton and wrap it up.
01:54:53 --> 01:54:53 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:54:54 --> 01:54:55 [UNKNOWN]: Cool.
01:54:56 --> 01:55:05 [UNKNOWN]: So, as we mentioned before, we see the scenes of the Riverland host on the March with crispy coals head on a pike and the delicious.
01:55:06 --> 01:55:10 [UNKNOWN]: We need some artists out there in Inlisoner Land to make an Andy Warhol.
01:55:10 --> 01:55:14 [UNKNOWN]: You know the multicolor print, you know the Ford Eye thing, I forget what that one's called.
01:55:20 --> 01:55:23 [UNKNOWN]: Uh, and then G-Wane arrives back at Tumbleton to report in.
01:55:24 --> 01:55:29 [UNKNOWN]: Um, so they've crossed the Blackwater Rush and they've got 20 men.
01:55:29 --> 01:55:33 [UNKNOWN]: So that's a little update about a day, day and a half March from Tumbleton.
01:55:33 --> 01:55:34 [UNKNOWN]: So they're on the way.
01:55:36 --> 01:55:47 [UNKNOWN]: Uh, one of the things that G Wayne's rides through the city is kind of an exposition dump for us because we see signs of the city prepping, right?
01:55:47 --> 01:55:55 [UNKNOWN]: We see, uh, defenses being put into place, baskets of arrows being carried around like little mini ballistas being set up.
01:55:55 --> 01:55:59 [UNKNOWN]: So that's like a little exposition dump to let us know for next week.
01:56:00 --> 01:56:02 [UNKNOWN]: We got a battle, uh, coming in.
01:56:03 --> 01:56:08 [UNKNOWN]: And there was an interesting little thing, G Wayne does a real slick dismount move off his horse.
01:56:09 --> 01:56:09 [UNKNOWN]: He did.
01:56:10 --> 01:56:12 [UNKNOWN]: Dude, he's my guy.
01:56:12 --> 01:56:17 [UNKNOWN]: I think I'm gonna have to, like, I don't want to be a green supporter, but like, I'm down with G Wayne, man.
01:56:19 --> 01:56:21 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know, I'd be in his army.
01:56:21 --> 01:56:22 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know, baby.
01:56:22 --> 01:56:24 [UNKNOWN]: I got high towels, boy.
01:56:25 --> 01:56:26 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I know, that's what I'm saying.
01:56:26 --> 01:56:31 [UNKNOWN]: That's, you know, but if we want to talk about cult of personality, I might get you in here.
01:56:31 --> 01:56:31 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
01:56:31 --> 01:56:40 [UNKNOWN]: But anyway, there's this touch of emotion as Ormon says something about like, oh, your buddy and his little, you know, muddy escapades or whatever.
01:56:40 --> 01:56:41 [UNKNOWN]: And then we kind of,
01:56:42 --> 01:56:52 [UNKNOWN]: You don't do a full close-up on Duane's face, but we see him in profile, and he's kind of, he has an emotion, a little emotional moment there.
01:56:52 --> 01:56:53 [UNKNOWN]: I thought it was interesting.
01:56:54 --> 01:56:55 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know if you made, if you call that.
01:56:55 --> 01:56:56 [UNKNOWN]: I didn't pick that up.
01:56:56 --> 01:56:57 [UNKNOWN]: OK.
01:56:57 --> 01:57:00 [UNKNOWN]: So on my second, I'll watch it the second time yet.
01:57:00 --> 01:57:02 [UNKNOWN]: So I'll see.
01:57:02 --> 01:57:03 [UNKNOWN]: My Thursday.
01:57:05 --> 01:57:15 [UNKNOWN]: So, then we got dinner time in Tumbledon and we got Ormond and Darren, entertain Lord Coralis at dinner, and then later going and Darren compare notes.
01:57:15 --> 01:57:19 [UNKNOWN]: And I've got a couple of audio clips here, so let's grab this first one right quick.
01:57:20 --> 01:57:23 [UNKNOWN]: If you have finished with your instruction, what do you see in them anyway?
01:57:24 --> 01:57:25 [UNKNOWN]: The Targaryen.
01:57:27 --> 01:57:27 [UNKNOWN]: element.
01:57:28 --> 01:57:29 [UNKNOWN]: You're a traveled man.
01:57:29 --> 01:57:31 [UNKNOWN]: You've seen the world's wonders.
01:57:31 --> 01:57:35 [UNKNOWN]: Why limit yourself in tedious alliance to the brutish and the encurriers?
01:57:36 --> 01:57:40 [UNKNOWN]: Your wife, of course, was of their blood that ended all too predictably.
01:57:41 --> 01:57:45 [UNKNOWN]: I would think of that in seeing how they devour one of their own.
01:57:46 --> 01:57:47 [UNKNOWN]: I would like to return to myself.
01:57:48 --> 01:57:49 [UNKNOWN]: That's your please.
01:57:52 --> 01:57:59 [UNKNOWN]: So, we got Ormond here trying to manipulate and sort of speak honey words to Coralis.
01:57:59 --> 01:58:13 [UNKNOWN]: But again, he's advancing this theory that the Targaryens are these white-haired freaky invaders that don't belong in Western Rosy lands.
01:58:14 --> 01:58:16 [UNKNOWN]: But the Valerians come from the same place.
01:58:16 --> 01:58:17 [UNKNOWN]: So I'm not sure like how far that goes.
01:58:20 --> 01:58:23 [UNKNOWN]: I just think he's underestimating who coreless is.
01:58:24 --> 01:58:24 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
01:58:25 --> 01:58:29 [UNKNOWN]: And once he bought up Rainies, the conversation was basically over.
01:58:30 --> 01:58:31 [UNKNOWN]: That was a bad miscalculation.
01:58:32 --> 01:58:32 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:58:32 --> 01:58:33 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:58:33 --> 01:58:34 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:58:34 --> 01:58:37 [UNKNOWN]: There was nothing, there's no coming back for that.
01:58:37 --> 01:58:38 [UNKNOWN]: No.
01:58:40 --> 01:58:47 [UNKNOWN]: Uh, interesting, too, when Ormond is, you know, saying, oh, well, you know, with you here, that means your men are
01:58:49 --> 01:58:56 [UNKNOWN]: to help stabilize King's Landing because, you know, they owe allegiance to you, you're not there.
01:58:56 --> 01:58:59 [UNKNOWN]: So, but what he's also not factoring is Adam.
01:58:59 --> 01:59:00 [UNKNOWN]: Uh-huh.
01:59:00 --> 01:59:02 [UNKNOWN]: Who's part of our Allen Allen Allen.
01:59:02 --> 01:59:03 [UNKNOWN]: Damn it, I did it again.
01:59:03 --> 01:59:06 [UNKNOWN]: Allen Allen, Allen, who's proved himself in battle?
01:59:07 --> 01:59:11 [UNKNOWN]: And I think he's commanding a lot of personal loyalty from the men.
01:59:12 --> 01:59:13 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, yes, that's what I'm saying.
01:59:13 --> 01:59:17 [UNKNOWN]: He's not someone who has just been placed here, right?
01:59:17 --> 01:59:27 [UNKNOWN]: Where they could question, they know that, you know, Coralists gave him the position, yes, but he's proved himself capable.
01:59:28 --> 01:59:32 [UNKNOWN]: And he's earned their loyalty and they're not ready for this.
01:59:32 --> 01:59:32 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
01:59:33 --> 01:59:34 [UNKNOWN]: He's not ready for that.
01:59:34 --> 01:59:46 [UNKNOWN]: He doesn't have end and all the while, Alan is plucking Orman's eyes out from him in King's landing because he's taking out his network.
01:59:48 --> 01:59:57 [UNKNOWN]: And if he smart, if we actually had a good master of whispers, what we'd actually be doing, he's doing counterintelligence and sending bad information back to Ormans.
01:59:58 --> 02:00:03 [UNKNOWN]: But Masari is a little bit too busy trying to wedge Damon.
02:00:03 --> 02:00:09 [UNKNOWN]: So, but Coral has does track the tension between Darren and Ormans.
02:00:09 --> 02:00:09 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
02:00:10 --> 02:00:12 [UNKNOWN]: And that goes to show you why his
02:00:18 --> 02:00:19 [UNKNOWN]: because he was immediately able to track.
02:00:22 --> 02:00:24 [UNKNOWN]: Like, this is someone who sees it.
02:00:25 --> 02:00:29 [UNKNOWN]: This is what's frustrating about Coralist, because Coralist actually, yes.
02:00:29 --> 02:00:37 [UNKNOWN]: Was engaged the way his talent and experience and wisdom is phenomenal.
02:00:38 --> 02:00:45 [UNKNOWN]: His personal charisma, his ability to lead, his ability to foresee things and figure out these problems.
02:00:47 --> 02:00:50 [UNKNOWN]: but he's too caught up with his own pride in ego.
02:00:50 --> 02:00:52 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, because this is a city father.
02:00:52 --> 02:00:53 [UNKNOWN]: He was a silly husband.
02:00:54 --> 02:00:58 [UNKNOWN]: Because I'm the best thing he could do now.
02:00:58 --> 02:01:02 [UNKNOWN]: He's not doing because he's but hurt over his own shittings.
02:01:02 --> 02:01:02 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
02:01:03 --> 02:01:11 [UNKNOWN]: All right, I got another audio, oh wait, real quick, before I got this other audio clip.
02:01:11 --> 02:01:14 [UNKNOWN]: Coralist drops this line, pigeon pie.
02:01:14 --> 02:01:15 [UNKNOWN]: What is this?
02:01:15 --> 02:01:16 [UNKNOWN]: You know, some pigeon pie.
02:01:17 --> 02:01:29 [UNKNOWN]: Wasn't John free poison by pigeon pie or he had pigeon pie just before he drank or I can't remember They said yeah I have to go back which I don't want to do David.
02:01:29 --> 02:01:31 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:01:31 --> 02:01:32 [UNKNOWN]: I'm not making nobody do that.
02:01:32 --> 02:01:35 [UNKNOWN]: I'm not making but it's not season eight So it's okay, right?
02:01:35 --> 02:01:36 [UNKNOWN]: It's earlier on
02:01:37 --> 02:01:47 [UNKNOWN]: But apparently when I was digging around on the internet a little bit too, apparently the 4 and 20 blackbirds baked in a pie that old children's nursery rhyme.
02:01:49 --> 02:02:03 [UNKNOWN]: Apparently, it was an inspiration for Gern to fold the pigeon pie into the purple wedding scene and like that's like a, so there's a direct connection there from real world, uh,
02:02:17 --> 02:02:21 [UNKNOWN]: But here's this other clip, this is Gawain and Darren talking.
02:02:22 --> 02:02:25 [UNKNOWN]: I'm supposed to be thinking, what sort of ruler am I?
02:02:25 --> 02:02:30 [UNKNOWN]: Am I to sit by, impotent while, and madman, officers up for the shorter?
02:02:30 --> 02:02:32 [UNKNOWN]: And all of our men, with us.
02:02:33 --> 02:02:34 [UNKNOWN]: It seems there's no escaping it.
02:02:36 --> 02:02:39 [UNKNOWN]: The dreams that I might have are covering themselves in everlasting glory.
02:02:39 --> 02:02:42 [UNKNOWN]: Somehow transcending humanity's common fate.
02:02:43 --> 02:02:57 [UNKNOWN]: So this line really struck me, because as I said, my daughter and I've been watching the Tom Hanks World War II series, and we just finished it all 20 episodes last night.
02:02:57 --> 02:03:00 [UNKNOWN]: We didn't, we space that, obviously, over multiple weeks.
02:03:02 --> 02:03:12 [UNKNOWN]: But when you get to the last couple of episodes where the German and the Japanese forces
02:03:14 --> 02:03:27 [UNKNOWN]: on their knees and buckling and neither of their rulers, you know, are the people in power are willing to give up and they're willing to take their whole country's down.
02:03:43 --> 02:03:52 [UNKNOWN]: when you have these people who are so hellbent and then people give them power by doing what they say.
02:03:52 --> 02:04:06 [UNKNOWN]: So here we are, you and me, Darren and G-Wane, we're watching this mego, I know I can't get maniacal man, lead us into ruin and none of us can stop it because why?
02:04:09 --> 02:04:12 [UNKNOWN]: because he has some sort of legitimacy of power.
02:04:12 --> 02:04:14 [UNKNOWN]: The trappings of power, we've given him power.
02:04:14 --> 02:04:17 [UNKNOWN]: He's the head of the family, he's got blah, blah, blah, blah.
02:04:19 --> 02:04:23 [UNKNOWN]: But he's going to take us down this very dark road.
02:04:23 --> 02:04:25 [UNKNOWN]: Kristen Cole did the same thing, right?
02:04:25 --> 02:04:30 [UNKNOWN]: You know, all how many rulers and Westoros, you know, same thing.
02:04:30 --> 02:04:30 [UNKNOWN]: These,
02:04:31 --> 02:04:36 [UNKNOWN]: these egocentric people I look around today, right?
02:04:36 --> 02:04:38 [UNKNOWN]: Why is the world in certain?
02:04:38 --> 02:04:43 [UNKNOWN]: Why are we going through certain things in this world because of the egos of certain mostly men?
02:04:44 --> 02:04:52 [UNKNOWN]: Let's just call it straight, who who have these egos that are uncontrollable and yet we continue to give them power.
02:04:53 --> 02:04:56 [UNKNOWN]: to the detriment of humanity's overall fate.
02:04:57 --> 02:04:57 [UNKNOWN]: Definitely.
02:04:58 --> 02:05:18 [UNKNOWN]: When I heard the line, I immediately thought Cole, because that's why he left this person who was willing to kill everyone, just to get his name written about and songs sung about him.
02:05:19 --> 02:05:19 [UNKNOWN]: So,
02:05:20 --> 02:05:24 [UNKNOWN]: I think the G-way in at this moment was very cognizant of that fact.
02:05:25 --> 02:05:34 [UNKNOWN]: What frustrates me with the two of them is that out of the three, I'm talking about, um, they run G-way in, warming.
02:05:34 --> 02:05:38 [UNKNOWN]: Only one of them is presumed to be sitting under iron throne.
02:05:39 --> 02:05:39 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
02:05:40 --> 02:05:40 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:05:40 --> 02:05:47 [UNKNOWN]: And, all mine has so grinded them down that they don't even recognize that.
02:05:49 --> 02:05:50 [UNKNOWN]: the power that that holds.
02:05:50 --> 02:05:51 [UNKNOWN]: Mm-hmm.
02:05:54 --> 02:05:57 [UNKNOWN]: At any moment, they all call him sire, right?
02:05:57 --> 02:05:59 [UNKNOWN]: They all, the guards bow their heads to him, everything.
02:06:00 --> 02:06:03 [UNKNOWN]: And so, and he's going to try it.
02:06:03 --> 02:06:04 [UNKNOWN]: And he's got a dragon.
02:06:07 --> 02:06:10 [UNKNOWN]: But they're so ground down by Oman.
02:06:10 --> 02:06:15 [UNKNOWN]: So fearful of him, so cowed by him, the abuse by him.
02:06:16 --> 02:06:20 [UNKNOWN]: that they don't even recognize their own strength.
02:06:21 --> 02:06:22 [UNKNOWN]: And that's the sad part of them.
02:06:25 --> 02:06:36 [UNKNOWN]: And all the while, hormone just gathers more power and more power and more power and no one can seemingly stop him.
02:06:37 --> 02:06:38 [UNKNOWN]: When all's it would take?
02:06:38 --> 02:06:41 [UNKNOWN]: Is it a couple of people going, no, no.
02:06:41 --> 02:06:42 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:06:44 --> 02:06:47 [UNKNOWN]: But then we end up in a Caesar's situation, right?
02:06:47 --> 02:06:49 [UNKNOWN]: Like, oh, okay, well, hey, Caesar's got too much power.
02:06:49 --> 02:06:51 [UNKNOWN]: So we're all going to stab him in the back.
02:06:52 --> 02:06:53 [UNKNOWN]: Where does that go, right?
02:06:53 --> 02:06:56 [UNKNOWN]: Like, I'm not saying there's a right answer here.
02:06:56 --> 02:06:59 [UNKNOWN]: I'm not saying there's a, but I am saying there's a right answer.
02:07:00 --> 02:07:02 [UNKNOWN]: It gets you out of the current predicament.
02:07:02 --> 02:07:02 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
02:07:04 --> 02:07:06 [UNKNOWN]: It gets you men not slaughtered.
02:07:07 --> 02:07:07 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
02:07:07 --> 02:07:09 [UNKNOWN]: It gets the small folk from being
02:07:10 --> 02:07:17 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, ruined and destroyed and they're like how I'm not having to be rebuilt.
02:07:18 --> 02:07:21 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, so there is a right answer here.
02:07:22 --> 02:07:34 [UNKNOWN]: They're just unable to see it because of the abuse that offscreen has happened in their lives.
02:07:42 --> 02:07:42 [UNKNOWN]: Yep.
02:07:43 --> 02:07:43 [UNKNOWN]: Power.
02:07:44 --> 02:07:45 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
02:07:45 --> 02:07:48 [UNKNOWN]: Who has power and how do they wield it and then how do we relate to that power?
02:07:48 --> 02:07:53 [UNKNOWN]: Who has power and who has the flashing of power?
02:07:53 --> 02:07:55 [UNKNOWN]: Who has the appearance of power?
02:07:55 --> 02:07:55 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:07:57 --> 02:07:58 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, what do we do to get that fool?
02:07:59 --> 02:08:00 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, yes.
02:08:00 --> 02:08:05 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, he's only powerful because they we they refuse to recognize their own.
02:08:07 --> 02:08:09 [UNKNOWN]: Right, and we could we could we could look at certain
02:08:11 --> 02:08:23 [UNKNOWN]: political institutions in certain countries and say, well, these, they certainly don't want to, they're certainly happy to go along with where the power is right now.
02:08:23 --> 02:08:23 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
02:08:24 --> 02:08:26 [UNKNOWN]: When they're actually set up to check that power.
02:08:27 --> 02:08:27 [UNKNOWN]: Absolutely.
02:08:27 --> 02:08:30 [UNKNOWN]: Explicitly, job is, check the power.
02:08:33 --> 02:08:35 [UNKNOWN]: and yet they behave as if they have none.
02:08:35 --> 02:08:35 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
02:08:36 --> 02:08:38 [UNKNOWN]: And this is where we see in G-way and then they're on.
02:08:39 --> 02:08:39 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
02:08:39 --> 02:08:44 [UNKNOWN]: Behaving as if they have no agency, they have no... That's good to know.
02:08:44 --> 02:08:44 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:08:45 --> 02:08:45 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:08:45 --> 02:08:46 [UNKNOWN]: To change things.
02:08:46 --> 02:08:53 [UNKNOWN]: And out of every, you know, I've said the word agency a few times, out of all the people who...
02:08:54 --> 02:09:04 [UNKNOWN]: can have agency, but are not recognizing that they can these two are closer to that reality than anyone else.
02:09:04 --> 02:09:08 [UNKNOWN]: And they are incapable because of what they've gone through.
02:09:08 --> 02:09:21 [UNKNOWN]: I don't want to diminish the experiences what I believe the X-rays just have been living with a lot, but yeah, as you're saying these things,
02:09:23 --> 02:09:29 [UNKNOWN]: and G-Wane as you lamenting the fact that he's going to get a whole lot of people killed.
02:09:30 --> 02:09:34 [UNKNOWN]: The question should not be, well, what can we do with and then the answer is nothing.
02:09:36 --> 02:09:36 [UNKNOWN]: That's we.
02:09:37 --> 02:09:37 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
02:09:38 --> 02:09:39 [UNKNOWN]: Because you can do something.
02:09:39 --> 02:09:40 [UNKNOWN]: You have power.
02:09:40 --> 02:09:41 [UNKNOWN]: You have power.
02:09:43 --> 02:09:45 [UNKNOWN]: You are the woodbee king who has a dragon.
02:09:46 --> 02:09:49 [UNKNOWN]: The G-Wane's men would follow him.
02:09:52 --> 02:10:01 [UNKNOWN]: He's for what battles, they may not all follow him, but he would find people who would follow him.
02:10:02 --> 02:10:02 [UNKNOWN]: And he's a good fighter.
02:10:03 --> 02:10:04 [UNKNOWN]: And he's a good fighter.
02:10:05 --> 02:10:07 [UNKNOWN]: So yeah.
02:10:07 --> 02:10:15 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, everybody called it out very early on when we saw that scene of Saryon, like Aaron, you got to drag him in.
02:10:15 --> 02:10:16 [UNKNOWN]: Just dry.
02:10:16 --> 02:10:16 [UNKNOWN]: Here's the right.
02:10:21 --> 02:10:25 [UNKNOWN]: going to jukars the whole room in that moment.
02:10:26 --> 02:10:26 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:10:27 --> 02:10:31 [UNKNOWN]: And walked out, had hell high.
02:10:31 --> 02:10:32 [UNKNOWN]: I had to do it.
02:10:34 --> 02:10:35 [UNKNOWN]: And no one would have said, peep.
02:10:39 --> 02:10:40 [UNKNOWN]: All right.
02:10:40 --> 02:10:48 [UNKNOWN]: Well, we got another bit of a pyromaniac over here with Olf, who was excited to let
02:10:50 --> 02:11:14 [UNKNOWN]: little transactional power here with ormons offering driftmark hey I give you this you give me that yes now all thinks he's got he thinks he has power in this situation and yeah there's a promise of uh a keep in and whatnot
02:11:16 --> 02:11:24 [UNKNOWN]: But Orman is it's, I don't think stupid enough to understand that Olf is going to be satisfied ultimately in the long-term.
02:11:25 --> 02:11:30 [UNKNOWN]: And B, you can't let a guy like Olf be running around with a dragon after he's done what you need him to get done for you.
02:11:30 --> 02:11:31 [UNKNOWN]: All right.
02:11:33 --> 02:11:42 [UNKNOWN]: Uh, Alf is, like I said, man, Alf is, should have been nowhere near a dragon.
02:11:42 --> 02:11:42 [UNKNOWN]: A dragon.
02:11:47 --> 02:11:52 [UNKNOWN]: And we'll say it now, no one, this is one of the biggest mistakes that right now, or has made.
02:11:53 --> 02:12:09 [UNKNOWN]: And the open call for a dragon writer, I understood it, but you have to have some sort of, there has to be a process other than, well, the dragon didn't burn them, so it was all good.
02:12:10 --> 02:12:10 [UNKNOWN]: You know what I mean?
02:12:11 --> 02:12:15 [UNKNOWN]: There has to be some sort of checklist.
02:12:17 --> 02:12:38 [UNKNOWN]: Well, there was no sort of, I don't want to say moral education, but they like, oh, this is a night, you're a night now, you're in service, is how you do, you know, like there was no, I mean, before we put a pilot into a jet, a $30 million jet and given a bunch of missiles.
02:12:40 --> 02:12:48 [UNKNOWN]: We spend a lot of time training that person in a lot of other things beyond just how do you fly this airplane?
02:12:49 --> 02:12:49 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
02:12:50 --> 02:12:53 [UNKNOWN]: You have to have the right mental capacity to do the job.
02:12:53 --> 02:12:54 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
02:12:54 --> 02:12:57 [UNKNOWN]: And the command and control, like, yeah, I'm going to do what the orders are.
02:12:57 --> 02:13:01 [UNKNOWN]: I'm going to hold myself up to a particular standard of behavior.
02:13:01 --> 02:13:04 [UNKNOWN]: I have a certain set of values and principles that I'm executing on.
02:13:10 --> 02:13:11 [UNKNOWN]: because he's been treated badly.
02:13:12 --> 02:13:17 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, he's been treated horribly by, you know, reinforcing all the wrong lessons.
02:13:18 --> 02:13:33 [UNKNOWN]: All the wrong lessons, but again, there has to be some sort of process where you can look at a candidate and say, uh, yeah, even though it might work, I don't think so.
02:13:33 --> 02:13:33 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:13:34 --> 02:13:41 [UNKNOWN]: and that was not done for the Dragon Riders and again, this is too much detriment.
02:13:42 --> 02:13:44 [UNKNOWN]: Right, short-sided decisions here.
02:13:44 --> 02:13:48 [UNKNOWN]: Or decisions in these exigent circumstances.
02:13:48 --> 02:13:49 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, yeah.
02:13:49 --> 02:13:51 [UNKNOWN]: And again, yeah, all of could have,
02:13:52 --> 02:14:04 [UNKNOWN]: been okay if you had that context around him to build him up and correct and to guide and like, oh, you want to go hang and you want to drink with your buddies?
02:14:04 --> 02:14:05 [UNKNOWN]: Look.
02:14:06 --> 02:14:06 [UNKNOWN]: Invite your bros here.
02:14:07 --> 02:14:14 [UNKNOWN]: You guys can, you know, you can hang out down in, uh, in the, where the soldiers have their meals will throw you a little party.
02:14:14 --> 02:14:16 [UNKNOWN]: Right, or whatever, right.
02:14:16 --> 02:14:18 [UNKNOWN]: But you don't smack them, you know, openly in the street.
02:14:19 --> 02:14:19 [UNKNOWN]: And right.
02:14:19 --> 02:14:19 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
02:14:19 --> 02:14:23 [UNKNOWN]: And it kind of throughout in front of, uh, of all the other small folk.
02:14:23 --> 02:14:25 [UNKNOWN]: They're fun of the people that he's trying to impress.
02:14:25 --> 02:14:26 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
02:14:29 --> 02:14:41 [UNKNOWN]: And who knows, even if you had done those things, I still think the character of if he was promised Driftmark would have still, right, it may be a little too late for all.
02:14:41 --> 02:14:43 [UNKNOWN]: He may still be, he may be a little sad in his ways.
02:14:43 --> 02:14:44 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
02:14:44 --> 02:14:44 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
02:14:47 --> 02:14:57 [UNKNOWN]: So obviously they've had more than one meeting which I love, you know, I love the way they're like, well, the last time we met, I was like, okay, great, perfect amount of exposition set up there.
02:14:58 --> 02:15:00 [UNKNOWN]: So like this whole scene was like brilliant.
02:15:00 --> 02:15:02 [UNKNOWN]: All the way down to the incense burners.
02:15:02 --> 02:15:04 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, it's a big stick, right?
02:15:04 --> 02:15:08 [UNKNOWN]: Like set deck, like one the day with those, that was awesome.
02:15:08 --> 02:15:14 [UNKNOWN]: The thing that I take away from this scene is the other disdain deck of doesn't see an moment's face.
02:15:14 --> 02:15:15 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
02:15:16 --> 02:15:20 [UNKNOWN]: He's so caught up in the flattering the transactional.
02:15:21 --> 02:15:26 [UNKNOWN]: He doesn't see the other disdain that Oman has with it.
02:15:26 --> 02:15:30 [UNKNOWN]: Which is so clear, it's like a star in at night.
02:15:31 --> 02:15:35 [UNKNOWN]: And the sticks of incense are even like a beacon of that, right?
02:15:35 --> 02:15:38 [UNKNOWN]: Like I can't even stand the smell of you.
02:15:38 --> 02:15:39 [UNKNOWN]: Let it alone the sight.
02:15:39 --> 02:15:39 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:15:40 --> 02:15:43 [UNKNOWN]: Let alone to have this conversation that we have.
02:15:47 --> 02:15:48 [UNKNOWN]: Let them burn.
02:15:48 --> 02:15:49 [UNKNOWN]: I'll burn everybody.
02:15:50 --> 02:16:01 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, he was like a evil little dremel and when he said that I was like, oh my god, there's me black Cool, all right.
02:16:01 --> 02:16:06 [UNKNOWN]: Well, I think that's the episode any other closing thoughts.
02:16:07 --> 02:16:12 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, no, just again, they I hope this next episode is extra large because
02:16:14 --> 02:16:22 [UNKNOWN]: A quick note about next episode as well, we're taking our last to raw of the summer.
02:16:23 --> 02:16:45 [UNKNOWN]: next week so i'm gonna be on the road but i have my mobile recording gear so it could be but we know where we are on monday and Tuesday i have to like see i got a carve out some time you and i have to carve i'm still in the same time zone we're just going to be up visiting some family main yeah so we're going to have to play it a little bit by ear so just
02:16:46 --> 02:16:53 [UNKNOWN]: Let everybody know, especially if it's a supersized episode, like, you might, you know, hang tight, make sure, but we'll get it kind of- We'll get it to you.
02:16:53 --> 02:16:54 [UNKNOWN]: We'll get it to you.
02:16:54 --> 02:16:54 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:16:55 --> 02:17:03 [UNKNOWN]: And then we'll have to see about the feedback and how we want to do that if we want if Alicia wants to get in on some conversation.
02:17:03 --> 02:17:04 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know.
02:17:04 --> 02:17:05 [UNKNOWN]: I don't think John's been able to keep up.
02:17:06 --> 02:17:10 [UNKNOWN]: with the show this season because he's been busy.
02:17:10 --> 02:17:12 [UNKNOWN]: He's got a bunch of stuff going on.
02:17:13 --> 02:17:18 [UNKNOWN]: But we're definitely at some point going to hop back over to the dungeon and the new rags.
02:17:19 --> 02:17:23 [UNKNOWN]: Hang out with those fellas for a minute and have some conversations about the season overall as well.

02:17:43 --> 02:17:47 [UNKNOWN]: It's a lot of work for Nancy to go through the discord and pluck anything out, even though there's gems in there all the time.
02:17:48 --> 02:17:50 [UNKNOWN]: But hit us up on the email.
02:17:55 --> 02:17:57 [UNKNOWN]: Supergirl is coming.

02:18:01 --> 02:18:02 [UNKNOWN]: Oh dude, man.
02:18:02 --> 02:18:04 [UNKNOWN]: Did it like break record?
02:18:04 --> 02:18:05 [UNKNOWN]: We didn't it broke records.
02:18:05 --> 02:18:07 [UNKNOWN]: We're going to see a tomorrow.
02:18:07 --> 02:18:19 [UNKNOWN]: Nice So I have stayed away from the spoilery stuff even though I probably know what they are, but still I've not been engaging with it on one so but after tomorrow my embargo happened lifted
02:18:20 --> 02:18:20 [UNKNOWN]: Nice.
02:18:20 --> 02:18:21 [UNKNOWN]: Very cool.
02:18:21 --> 02:18:23 [UNKNOWN]: Well, it's, uh, I'm glad to, uh, man.

02:18:25 --> 02:18:26 [UNKNOWN]: Big, yeah.
02:18:26 --> 02:18:39 [UNKNOWN]: I think, uh, John and I are going to do try to do some short form coverage of Ted Lasso do something like like half an hour or sub half an hour, sub 30 minute episodes where we just talk about two three things that we like from the episodes sort of getting it out real quick.
