00:26 --> 00:29 [SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to Comics Versus, a law-hounds podcast.
00:30 --> 00:36 [SPEAKER_00]: Your guys to the X-Men's time-traveling comics come to life as animated weekly adventures.
00:36 --> 00:37 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm John.
00:37 --> 00:43 [SPEAKER_00]: Still waving the Magneto banner as we finally talk about season two of X-Men 97 on Disney+.
00:45 --> 00:56 [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm Alicia picking up where I left off after season one in my developing a deeper appreciation of Scott Summers, redemption arc, and spearheading the Remi and Rogue Defense Squad.
00:56 --> 01:01 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, okay, okay, so Lisa and John.
01:01 --> 01:13 [SPEAKER_00]: Not John covered season one, and then I, John gave my takes on the start of the Fox Marvel funeral episode that Alicia and I did.
01:14 --> 01:16 [SPEAKER_00]: That's available in the feeds wherever you are listening.
01:17 --> 01:31 [SPEAKER_00]: This is a season 2, so we'll follow our usual spoiler free fresh dates, we'll proceed to full spoilers for both seasons of the TV show, comic books, and the MCU TV shows as well.
01:32 --> 01:36 [SPEAKER_00]: Basically, everything can be discussed, movies, comics,
01:38 --> 01:38 [SPEAKER_00]: songs.
01:39 --> 01:39 [SPEAKER_00]: We're not home.
01:39 --> 01:41 [SPEAKER_00]: They're songs, are they songs?
01:41 --> 01:43 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, are they so and then musicals?
01:43 --> 01:44 [SPEAKER_01]: Are they spoiler-y?
01:44 --> 01:47 [SPEAKER_01]: There's Denna, Denna, Denna, Denna, spoiler.
01:48 --> 01:49 [SPEAKER_01]: That's how every episode starts.
01:50 --> 01:58 [SPEAKER_00]: So check out season one, the episodes for season one for a spoiler free intro into the series overall.
02:00 --> 02:05 [SPEAKER_00]: So season two, this is not in the MCU proper.
02:06 --> 02:09 [SPEAKER_00]: Do you think there's any chance that we'll have a deeper voice crossover?
02:10 --> 02:21 [SPEAKER_01]: Um, I mean, I was saying like, especially, okay, I haven't gotten to see it because it's not released in the Netherlands where I live yet, but like the coyote versus Acme.
02:21 --> 02:22 [SPEAKER_01]: It's the same thing.
02:23 --> 02:25 [SPEAKER_01]: It's not released here yet, but.
02:25 --> 02:25 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, oh.
02:26 --> 02:38 [SPEAKER_01]: Um, but you know, I, I'm here for a Roger Rabbit moment and we got the T's with the reverse, where we had Donald Glovers showing up in live action in the animated spiderverse movie.
02:38 --> 02:52 [SPEAKER_01]: So I would love if they snuck some animated stuff in secret wars, do you understand too much secret wars, though, go crazy, please do interesting unexpected things like that.
02:54 --> 02:54 [SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.
02:55 --> 02:55 [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
02:56 --> 02:59 [SPEAKER_00]: Work on the eyes for, I've work on the type of thing.
02:59 --> 03:00 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, speak all.
03:01 --> 03:01 [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
03:01 --> 03:01 [SPEAKER_00]: All right.
03:01 --> 03:02 [SPEAKER_00]: All right.
03:03 --> 03:07 [SPEAKER_00]: So we already know that this has been a double renewal.
03:08 --> 03:10 [SPEAKER_00]: Season three is coming in 2027.
03:11 --> 03:13 [SPEAKER_00]: And yes, season four has been green lit.
03:13 --> 03:16 [SPEAKER_00]: And that will be hopefully coming to us in 2028.
03:18 --> 03:33 [SPEAKER_00]: The series created by Bob Demio, who was pushed out after season one, but still wrote, I believe more than, or at least half of this season, he was replaced on July 2024 by Matthew Chancy.
03:35 --> 03:48 [SPEAKER_00]: who wrote what if three episodes of Miss Marvel and contributed to the fantastic four first steps movie as well as door four some scripts work on door four.
03:48 --> 03:49 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think he was a script doctor.
03:49 --> 03:56 [SPEAKER_01]: So, pros and cons that I don't envy what it was intended to him with or for.
03:56 --> 03:58 [SPEAKER_00]: Door four was, you know.
04:00 --> 04:12 [SPEAKER_00]: This is a continuation of the classic animated series from the 1990s, we have nine episodes this season, 30 minutes each episode, and the critics' reviews are pretty strong.
04:13 --> 04:25 [SPEAKER_00]: Rock and Tomatoes, which I was not expecting to be very as well received as it was, honestly, at 98%.
04:27 --> 04:28 [SPEAKER_00]: for average of 84.
04:30 --> 04:33 [SPEAKER_00]: So that was not expected by me.
04:33 --> 04:34 [SPEAKER_00]: I thought it would be lower.
04:36 --> 04:42 [SPEAKER_00]: And then we have the Metacritic and they came in and at what did they come in and
04:52 --> 04:57 [SPEAKER_00]: So that was pretty, I thought that was where it would fall.
04:58 --> 04:58 [SPEAKER_00]: What about you?
04:59 --> 05:14 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I noticed that Ron Tomatoes went down slightly, like season one got 99% from critics, 97% season two, so barely at all, but then Metacritic did the opposite.
05:14 --> 05:20 [SPEAKER_01]: We're actually season two was better reviewed than season two got 90 from critics and 82 for season one.
05:22 --> 05:30 [SPEAKER_01]: This reflects again the critics' fandom divide because I don't know about you, but I feel like I heard a lot of people complaining about the back half of the season.
05:31 --> 05:41 [SPEAKER_01]: But, all right, I know we haven't started our fresh stage yet, but my fresh take is that the back half of this first of this season is kind of like my favorite episodes yet, I think.
05:42 --> 05:43 [SPEAKER_00]: I held a hug.
05:43 --> 05:45 [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, this is not good yet.
05:46 --> 05:47 [SPEAKER_00]: What's your peculiar rating?
05:48 --> 06:00 [SPEAKER_00]: First of all, so we have a rating scale for folks who don't know the peculiar rating scale for one of our most beloved and it's deemed contributors and speakers on the lower hounds.
06:01 --> 06:06 [SPEAKER_00]: She's everywhere on everything, talking especially, she's
06:10 --> 06:17 [SPEAKER_00]: We like to rank our violence, tolerance levels based on Maryland's violence, tolerance levels.
06:17 --> 06:23 [SPEAKER_00]: So this is also the most violent, yes, yes, emotional, physical, gore, all of that stuff.
06:24 --> 06:28 [SPEAKER_00]: So where would you put this under peculiar rating?
06:30 --> 06:33 [SPEAKER_01]: like a two or three maybe even maybe a three.
06:34 --> 06:41 [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think I would necessarily recommend it to her, but it's not, you know, we're not like walking dead levels or anything here.
06:42 --> 06:43 [SPEAKER_00]: I'd give it a three.
06:44 --> 06:44 [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
06:44 --> 06:45 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'd give it a three.
06:46 --> 06:49 [SPEAKER_01]: Like I think about, all right, we've said already spoiler alerts.
06:49 --> 06:53 [SPEAKER_01]: Like I think one of the most violent and upsetting things would be the death of
06:58 --> 06:59 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I give it a solid three.
07:00 --> 07:07 [SPEAKER_00]: I think it's especially on the emotional side of it, not just the core, but the emotional side of it.
07:07 --> 07:09 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, exactly, exactly.
07:10 --> 07:12 [SPEAKER_00]: OK, now you can tell us your fresh taste.
07:14 --> 07:19 [SPEAKER_01]: So the premise is, X-Men must find their way to the 1990s to stop apocalypse.
07:20 --> 07:22 [SPEAKER_01]: But no, but yeah, as I said, I think that I actually
07:28 --> 07:35 [SPEAKER_01]: because my problem to view, I went back and listened to my first, the first season episodes, both of them.
07:39 --> 07:54 [SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, I had the laugh because I remember I was messaging you as I was listening to our Fox funeral one and I was like, you're defending Magneto the same way I'd fend our mom from the interview of the vampire and then Alicia from like a year ago said in the
07:58 --> 08:00 [SPEAKER_00]: So it's better if you haven't seen it before.
08:01 --> 08:02 [SPEAKER_00]: We'll start complaining.
08:02 --> 08:05 [SPEAKER_01]: We were predictable creatures, but anyway.
08:06 --> 08:11 [SPEAKER_01]: But no, but my complaints about the first season were only that it felt too rushed at times.
08:11 --> 08:18 [SPEAKER_01]: And I was a bit ached by some of the, some consistencies in a lot of the female portrayals.
08:18 --> 08:20 [SPEAKER_01]: So I leverated that in the prior episode.
08:20 --> 08:21 [SPEAKER_01]: I won't now.
08:21 --> 08:23 [SPEAKER_01]: But those were not problems here.
08:27 --> 08:43 [SPEAKER_01]: like I prefer when things slow down and enough I don't like slow cinema or anything like that but I like when there's time to marinate with one storyline a bit longer and I felt that that happened in the back half of the season.
08:43 --> 08:49 [SPEAKER_01]: I also said I have a particular soft spot for Gambit and Rogue so
08:51 --> 08:52 [SPEAKER_01]: This was a good season for that.
08:53 --> 09:00 [SPEAKER_01]: A lot of emotional moments with especially magneto and night crawler who's another particular favorite of mine.
09:00 --> 09:07 [SPEAKER_01]: So we had this hit a lot of highs and they got me hyped for Misty to come back next season.
09:08 --> 09:08 [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
09:09 --> 09:09 [SPEAKER_00]: All right.
09:09 --> 09:34 [SPEAKER_00]: So me, I think in Sabanura apocalypse made the season personally, that whole arc was really well done, I thought, and as a villain, exceptional work, just really, really exceptional work showing apocalypse in that in the way that they did.
09:36 --> 09:38 [SPEAKER_00]: that was a major draw for me.
09:39 --> 09:46 [SPEAKER_00]: I think setting up setting the stage for Charles' eventual unraveling was very well done as well.
09:47 --> 09:54 [SPEAKER_00]: We can see how the events of season two have taken a toll on him.
09:54 --> 10:01 [SPEAKER_00]: So it's going to be interesting to see if we get some sort of pay about that.
10:02 --> 10:18 [SPEAKER_00]: There are things that I think a lot of folks are expecting to see, with Charles, so I am very hopeful that they go down those paths where we see Charles Xavier become something else.
10:24 --> 10:38 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not a, I'm not a cable guy, like in general, in general, I, you know, some of the comics that my favorite character regularly wanted to be in the face, like even his own parents wanted to punch him in the face, just saying anyway, sorry.
10:38 --> 10:48 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and I think that's the, I guess that's the point of him, but even in the comics, I'm not really drawn to him as a character.
10:50 --> 11:01 [SPEAKER_00]: Although some of the comic runs that he's had in X-Force and things being part of the X-Men at different points were interesting.
11:01 --> 11:09 [SPEAKER_00]: I just never, he's not, I don't need a cable, but you wish to chose it one.
11:09 --> 11:10 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
11:10 --> 11:10 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
11:11 --> 11:11 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
11:11 --> 11:12 [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
11:13 --> 11:16 [SPEAKER_00]: And then finally, not enough storm for me.
11:16 --> 11:17 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
11:18 --> 11:19 [SPEAKER_00]: I need storm.
11:21 --> 11:27 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm an unabashed storm of colleges and fan.
11:27 --> 11:39 [SPEAKER_00]: So if X-Men especially on screen don't have her, I don't see her, I'm wanting her to be around.
11:39 --> 11:41 [SPEAKER_00]: I think she adds a lot to the teams.
11:42 --> 11:48 [SPEAKER_00]: And I was saddened that we didn't get as much a storm as I wanted to this season.
11:49 --> 11:49 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
11:49 --> 11:51 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I hope they make up for that next season.
11:52 --> 11:55 [SPEAKER_01]: But I mean, I suppose you got to pick your cat.
11:55 --> 12:01 [SPEAKER_01]: There's so many, so many characters and I still, I'm still like you don't have to put them all in one season.
12:02 --> 12:03 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
12:04 --> 12:04 [SPEAKER_00]: Why not?
12:05 --> 12:08 [SPEAKER_01]: Well, because there's how many that's amazing one already.
12:08 --> 12:09 [SPEAKER_01]: I'll say later.
12:10 --> 12:12 [SPEAKER_01]: They got me so excited when magic showed up and
12:18 --> 12:18 [SPEAKER_00]: That's enough.
12:19 --> 12:19 [SPEAKER_00]: That's enough for you.
12:21 --> 12:21 [SPEAKER_01]: What?
12:24 --> 12:28 [SPEAKER_00]: Like you said, they don't have to show everyone.
12:28 --> 12:30 [SPEAKER_00]: But you know, everyone has their faiths.
12:30 --> 12:32 [SPEAKER_00]: And storm is a particular favorite of mine.
12:32 --> 12:43 [SPEAKER_00]: So given how much of her was in season one, I just wanted to have that much or a little less than that in season two.
12:43 --> 12:46 [SPEAKER_00]: And we didn't get a whole lot of her in season two.
12:46 --> 12:47 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no, that's true.
12:48 --> 12:48 [SPEAKER_01]: That's true.
12:49 --> 12:51 [SPEAKER_01]: Hey, but we've got a live action casting.
12:52 --> 12:52 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, we do.
12:52 --> 12:53 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, we do.
12:53 --> 12:55 [SPEAKER_00]: So that's, you know, cheers.
12:56 --> 12:57 [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
12:58 --> 12:59 [SPEAKER_00]: That's all the fresh takes.
13:00 --> 13:03 [SPEAKER_00]: I think we can start to talk about the season.
13:03 --> 13:03 [SPEAKER_00]: What about you?
13:04 --> 13:05 [SPEAKER_01]: All right, let's get into it.
13:05 --> 13:05 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
13:06 --> 13:06 [SPEAKER_00]: All right.
13:06 --> 13:12 [SPEAKER_00]: So first of all, big thank you for Wikipedia, Glores, you are doing God's work.
13:12 --> 13:14 [SPEAKER_00]: I just gave, they're doing their fundraiser now.
13:14 --> 13:16 [SPEAKER_00]: So I just gave my little donation.
13:16 --> 13:26 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm going about to, I'm about to anyone who doesn't, who uses it as much as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as, as,
13:27 --> 13:29 [SPEAKER_01]: It's nice to have a group think brain.
13:29 --> 13:37 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, so thank you to those folks who put that together to allow us to get this out as quickly as we did.
13:37 --> 13:39 [SPEAKER_01]: Just one month late.
13:39 --> 13:42 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, we're not the semantics come on.
13:42 --> 13:43 [SPEAKER_01]: All right.
13:43 --> 13:48 [SPEAKER_01]: So we'll land turns inside though, and yes, so how's it the dragon?
13:48 --> 13:48 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my.
13:51 --> 13:57 [SPEAKER_00]: So, the season one recap, we're just going to break this down really quickly, okay?
13:57 --> 14:05 [SPEAKER_00]: In the first season, the X-Men phase bastion and his new Sentinel program, which targets mutants, with Xavier eventually returning to help the team.
14:05 --> 14:11 [SPEAKER_00]: This conflict ends with the X-Men being scattered throughout time from ancient Egypt to the far future.
14:12 --> 14:15 [SPEAKER_00]: We got the destruction of Janotia, the death of Gambit.
14:21 --> 14:24 [SPEAKER_00]: Then change the mind, but didn't get to tell them, because he died.
14:27 --> 14:32 [SPEAKER_00]: We got teasers of key comic characters, like Apocalypse and Mother Ascani.
14:34 --> 14:36 [SPEAKER_00]: So that's what happened basically in season one.
14:37 --> 14:43 [SPEAKER_00]: Again, go check out our episodes for the season one recap that John and Alicia did.
14:43 --> 14:51 [SPEAKER_00]: You'll find it in our show notes, the link to there, and you can also go on our Lord Homes website.
14:52 --> 14:59 [SPEAKER_00]: whatever platform you're listening to content on and you'll find Season 1's breakdown there.
14:59 --> 15:07 [SPEAKER_00]: Season 2, what we're going to do, we're going to take it clot by clot rather than strictly episode by episode.
15:07 --> 15:08 [SPEAKER_00]: If that's okay with you, Alicia.
15:10 --> 15:16 [SPEAKER_00]: So the episode titles and this season were episode 1, days of past future, episode 2, a force to be reckoned with.
15:17 --> 15:44 [SPEAKER_00]: episode three and four rise of apocalypse episode five weapon X lies and DVDs episode six danger dot EXE episode seven strange lands savage heart episode eight the dead man's hand and then episode nine survival of the fittest and we start with a three episode drop.
15:44 --> 15:44 [SPEAKER_00]: How do you
15:46 --> 15:50 [SPEAKER_01]: Um, I got behind it whenever there's a three episode drop to start.
15:50 --> 15:54 [SPEAKER_01]: I get behind quickly, even though these episodes are relatively short.
15:55 --> 16:11 [SPEAKER_01]: Um, I too find it's, so it's, that's a third of the season in this case, but I understood after I watched them, I understood why they did it, but then I wish they had just done the two episode drop because also episode three was the first of a two partner.
16:11 --> 16:14 [SPEAKER_01]: So obviously, that was to leave people with a cliffhanger, but
16:15 --> 16:18 [SPEAKER_01]: I think just episodes one and two would have been good.
16:18 --> 16:19 [SPEAKER_01]: What do you think?
16:20 --> 16:25 [SPEAKER_00]: I thought episode one and two were fine if they had given those two to begin with.
16:25 --> 16:29 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm in the same boat.
16:29 --> 16:39 [SPEAKER_00]: I thought episode three could have stood alone personally and episode one and two could have set the stage for the season instead of all three at the same time.
16:39 --> 16:41 [SPEAKER_00]: I don't mind it, don't get me wrong.
16:43 --> 16:54 [SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes I like the binge aspect, and sometimes I want to breathe a little with episodes like week to week, but so in this case I was okay with the binge.
16:55 --> 17:02 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, yeah, I feel like we didn't have as much chatter, even though the rest of the episodes were released weekly.
17:02 --> 17:12 [SPEAKER_01]: I think it was also just the crush of time when it was released, but I think it's just intimidating when you do these three episode drops to be, but that's just my personal opinion.
17:12 --> 17:17 [SPEAKER_00]: So, okay, all right, so we start with 3000 BC.
17:20 --> 17:30 [SPEAKER_00]: For Jim Bishop planned to rescue the X-Men who have been sent to key moments during the life of Apocalypse, Bishop goes to the start of his reign in Ancient Egypt, 3000 BC.
17:32 --> 17:40 [SPEAKER_00]: In sub-nour, Lee's an uprising against Pharaoh Ramotet, a tyrannical ruler who uses futuristic technology.
17:40 --> 17:50 [SPEAKER_00]: Magneto attempts to impart Charles Xavier's philosophy of peaceful coexistence on Neur, hoping to make him a benevolent force and rewrite history.
17:50 --> 17:55 [SPEAKER_00]: But Xavier does not trust Neur and wants to focus on finding a way back to their own time.
17:56 --> 18:02 [SPEAKER_00]: Beast, Rogue, and Knight Corolla, failed to build a time machine using parts of Rama-Touch technology.
18:03 --> 18:07 [SPEAKER_00]: Magneto convinces Nure to spare the life of Rama-Touch's general logos.
18:07 --> 18:12 [SPEAKER_00]: Despite logos provoking Nure by revealing that he was Nure's former slave master.
18:13 --> 18:23 [SPEAKER_00]: Xavier enters Logos' minds seeking answers about the Pharaoh, and learns that Ramota is searching for an ancient temple that holds celestial power that could get them home.
18:23 --> 18:36 [SPEAKER_00]: When Neuron, his followers discovered the excellent trying to use Ramota's technology, nor turns on them, and executes Logos, returning to his own ideology, survival of the fittest.
18:36 --> 18:43 [SPEAKER_00]: Bishop reveals himself to help fight off the attackers, just as Ramotut destroys the base they are in.
18:44 --> 18:47 [SPEAKER_00]: What did you think about this whole entire center?
18:48 --> 19:03 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, so I know this is a part that a lot of people said was a favorite part of the season, but I think for me, this was the more predictable part, and I know this is a show that's six more closely to the comics in general, but for this, it was just,
19:04 --> 19:29 [SPEAKER_01]: it was just like I was waiting for the events that were obvious to play out like the whole creating the enemy time loop trope you know like oh we're going to prevent him from becoming apocalypse but then actually obviously we're going to kind of push him in that direction and yeah so I think that's why I was much more excited by the back half of the season what did you think that?
19:31 --> 19:41 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm always down for apocalypse backstories when their comics are on screen because I just love the character.
19:42 --> 19:54 [SPEAKER_00]: So to see it play out, I enjoyed it, I really do, I like they include Ramotet, who spoilers
19:59 --> 20:05 [SPEAKER_01]: doesn't look like Jonathan majors, you know, or they used that VC the model that they used and they lived it out.
20:05 --> 20:06 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
20:06 --> 20:07 [SPEAKER_00]: Sorry.
20:07 --> 20:07 [SPEAKER_01]: It's serious.
20:09 --> 20:17 [SPEAKER_00]: Candle Conqueror is another Marvel villain, big, you know, full of the Avengers just FYI.
20:17 --> 20:26 [SPEAKER_00]: So I really enjoyed having that play out on screen because I just think Apocalypse is such a cool character.
20:27 --> 20:30 [SPEAKER_00]: And I don't see what you're saying.
20:31 --> 20:33 [SPEAKER_00]: Like I knew what was going to happen.
20:33 --> 20:36 [SPEAKER_00]: And I was, you know, when it happened, it wasn't like, oh my gosh.
20:37 --> 20:42 [SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, seeing and transform what's really cool for me.
20:42 --> 20:43 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
20:43 --> 20:45 [SPEAKER_00]: I really, you know, felt that moment.
20:45 --> 20:50 [SPEAKER_00]: And when he's talking to the celestial, which would, you know, us on.
20:51 --> 20:59 [SPEAKER_00]: That whole scene is just so, so dope, and I just really enjoyed that, so I was okay with it.
21:00 --> 21:02 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no, I mean, I liked it.
21:02 --> 21:03 [SPEAKER_01]: I thought it was good.
21:03 --> 21:13 [SPEAKER_01]: I liked what they did with Ensevendor's backstory, that making him this sort of, because he looks physically different, too.
21:13 --> 21:25 [SPEAKER_01]: But then also, you felt the injustice of him being traded like chaddle and the exploitation and where this righteous anger comes from.
21:25 --> 21:28 [SPEAKER_01]: So you know, I thought all of that was really well handled.
21:30 --> 21:37 [SPEAKER_01]: I think it's just like, I knew exactly how this story was going to play out with those details aside, and then I was like, yep, they're dead.
21:38 --> 21:39 [SPEAKER_00]: That was right.
21:40 --> 21:46 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so that was, you know, I agree with you again.
21:47 --> 21:50 [SPEAKER_00]: But I just, I don't know, there's something about apocalypse.
21:50 --> 22:02 [SPEAKER_00]: And another thing that I really liked about this part of the season was showing Charles and Magneto basically like flip scripts.
22:03 --> 22:12 [SPEAKER_00]: You know, like, and seeing Charles not being who he normally is.
22:13 --> 22:24 [SPEAKER_00]: in comics or on screen, I like Charles with a little edge, you know, a little, a little tinge of, oh, what's he going to do here?
22:24 --> 22:25 [SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
22:25 --> 22:31 [SPEAKER_00]: And I like to see Charles be portrayed in that way, not just this one dimensional.
22:31 --> 22:38 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm trying to make the world a better place and accept us, you know, no, I like the little hints of Charles,
22:42 --> 22:50 [SPEAKER_00]: not maybe magnetals right, but just saying, oh, I have to think about the ways that I've been trying to change the world.
22:51 --> 22:56 [SPEAKER_00]: And I think we start to get an inkling of that and these first three episodes.
22:57 --> 23:14 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, for me, the most powerful parts was there, you know, their friendship is always at the center of everything, you know, I always think about you saying about House of the Dragon, how the TV show, version of the story is really about the friendship between these two queens.
23:16 --> 23:19 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, X-Men is really about the friendship between these two queens.
23:24 --> 23:48 [SPEAKER_01]: Um, they still call, okay, so they call him Magnus and not Eric, uh, he was, I know that it is because the original TV show is before they named him Eric and the comics, so they call them Magnus and the TV show, but I don't know if that's like just like Charles's nickname for him or if that really is his first name in that universe, but anyway, um,
23:49 --> 23:56 [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, this part became powerful to me when something horrible happens.
23:56 --> 23:58 [SPEAKER_00]: All right, so let's get to it, let's get to it.
23:58 --> 24:05 [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so Magneto protects the X-Men from the explosion and NUR also survives.
24:05 --> 24:10 [SPEAKER_00]: Xavier reveals their identities to NUR and convinces him to help find the temple.
24:11 --> 24:16 [SPEAKER_00]: Ramotut telepathically warns Xavier about the ramifications of NUR finding the temple before him.
24:17 --> 24:21 [SPEAKER_00]: When they find the temple, the X-Men realize it is the ship.
24:21 --> 24:24 [SPEAKER_00]: The ship is actually the name of the character, the ship.
24:25 --> 24:33 [SPEAKER_00]: But it's also a ship that is destined to be the ship that is destined to be used by Apocalypse.
24:34 --> 24:44 [SPEAKER_00]: Seeing images of this powerful future, nerd turns on the X-Men and accepts the power from this celestial Esan, transforming himself into Apocalypse.
24:45 --> 24:52 [SPEAKER_00]: beast uses parts of ship to create a time travel device and Magneto sends the others back to the 1990s.
24:53 --> 25:04 [SPEAKER_00]: Although Apocalypse stops heavier from leaving, Ramotut reveals himself to be Kang the Conqueror, a baddance is a Conqueror and escapes into his own time machine.
25:05 --> 25:11 [SPEAKER_00]: Apocalypse creates a black hole above the Pharaoh city which Magneto risk his life to stop.
25:11 --> 25:18 [SPEAKER_00]: Apocalypse then kills Magnetal in front of a devastated Xavier, who is later rescued by Bishop.
25:20 --> 25:21 [SPEAKER_00]: Woo, what the...
25:23 --> 25:41 [SPEAKER_01]: Well, first of all, shout out to Ship, which I just said is a character, and just how Ship is the connecting link between all of these timelines, like just, I'm not sure if that's fully clear to everyone who's casually watching, but yeah, it's the same, we see
25:51 --> 26:05 [SPEAKER_01]: you know mechanic are intended to um that's like when they go to the far future there's buried on the bottom of the prior ocean because ship also sank in the previous series.
26:06 --> 26:08 [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah it's like it's this
26:10 --> 26:35 [SPEAKER_01]: rich backstory that's the whole mark of the series is there's all these rich back stories that you just get glancing mentions of an occasional deeper dives into but there's so many layers there where I'm just thinking about this sentient ship sitting on the back of the bottom of the ocean for centuries waiting for it to dry out so that it's friends come back and find it again and it can uh
26:36 --> 26:39 [SPEAKER_01]: help them more vulnerable destiny destinies.
26:41 --> 26:42 [SPEAKER_00]: Very sad.
26:43 --> 26:51 [SPEAKER_00]: I think my favorite, well, when rheumatoid looks out and was like, oh,
26:53 --> 26:54 [SPEAKER_00]: He's coming.
26:54 --> 26:55 [SPEAKER_00]: I got a bounce.
26:56 --> 26:58 [SPEAKER_00]: He gets in time.
26:58 --> 27:00 [SPEAKER_00]: He's time travel machine.
27:00 --> 27:04 [SPEAKER_00]: And he just, well, it was nice knowing you.
27:05 --> 27:05 [SPEAKER_00]: Time to go.
27:08 --> 27:17 [SPEAKER_00]: I let out the biggest laugh because that is so can that is so can to do some shit like that's the right shit and now I'm getting out of here.
27:17 --> 27:26 [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I'm gonna get in the timeline and see if I could figure out some other way You know, be damned to everyone else.
27:26 --> 27:32 [SPEAKER_00]: I don't care So he is like put up those dooses and he's like apocalypse That dude already changed.
27:32 --> 27:35 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm out because he already knew he knew what was gonna happen.
27:35 --> 27:36 [SPEAKER_00]: He knew like could happen
27:37 --> 27:40 [SPEAKER_00]: which is why he tried to tell Charles.
27:41 --> 27:43 [SPEAKER_00]: So that was hilarious for me.
27:43 --> 27:47 [SPEAKER_00]: But also, um, I think my needle dying.
27:49 --> 27:52 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that was probably the most powerful moment of the season.
27:52 --> 27:54 [SPEAKER_01]: You really?
27:54 --> 27:55 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think so.
27:56 --> 27:58 [SPEAKER_01]: Would you, would you think compete for it?
27:59 --> 28:01 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, yeah, night crawler too.
28:02 --> 28:11 [SPEAKER_01]: Those are the two most impactful deaths and I would say I mean, it's hard to say like I want to say stuff with gambit, but then he ends up the same.
28:11 --> 28:12 [SPEAKER_01]: So it's hard to hear.
28:13 --> 28:14 [SPEAKER_00]: No, night crawler.
28:15 --> 28:17 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, those two deaths were the yeah.
28:17 --> 28:22 [SPEAKER_00]: I think most people that I spoke to were more affected by the night crawler died.
28:23 --> 28:28 [SPEAKER_01]: Well, the thing is night crawler, it was a chosen sacrifice to save rogue.
28:28 --> 28:29 [SPEAKER_01]: So it's like heart wrenching.
28:29 --> 28:31 [SPEAKER_01]: I don't believe for a second, he's never coming back.
28:32 --> 28:33 [SPEAKER_00]: Um, no, of course not.
28:33 --> 28:34 [SPEAKER_00]: This comics come on.
28:34 --> 28:35 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, of course.
28:35 --> 28:35 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
28:36 --> 28:42 [SPEAKER_01]: But, um, but I would say the reason why Magneto gutted me more is that it wasn't.
28:43 --> 28:47 [SPEAKER_01]: I was more shocked by that, I think, because it is really.
28:47 --> 28:49 [SPEAKER_01]: It was a surprise.
28:49 --> 28:49 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
28:49 --> 28:51 [SPEAKER_01]: And I was waiting for his surprise at that point.
28:52 --> 28:54 [SPEAKER_00]: I was sitting there like he's gonna do it.
28:54 --> 28:55 [SPEAKER_00]: He's gonna do it.
28:56 --> 28:57 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, he's gonna do it.
28:57 --> 28:58 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, don't do it.
28:58 --> 28:59 [SPEAKER_00]: Don't you do it?
28:59 --> 29:00 [SPEAKER_00]: And then he did it.
29:00 --> 29:00 [SPEAKER_00]: Ah, he did it.
29:00 --> 29:02 [SPEAKER_00]: Like we said, it's like he's a main character.
29:02 --> 29:03 [SPEAKER_00]: He's the central bromance.
29:03 --> 29:03 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
29:03 --> 29:03 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
29:03 --> 29:03 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
29:03 --> 29:03 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
29:03 --> 29:03 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
29:03 --> 29:04 [SPEAKER_01]: I think it was powerful.
29:04 --> 29:05 [SPEAKER_01]: It's also just there.
29:05 --> 29:05 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:05 --> 29:06 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:06 --> 29:06 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:06 --> 29:06 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:06 --> 29:06 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:06 --> 29:06 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:06 --> 29:07 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:07 --> 29:07 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:07 --> 29:07 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:08 --> 29:08 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
29:08 --> 29:08 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
29:08 --> 29:09 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
29:09 --> 29:09 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
29:09 --> 29:10 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
29:10 --> 29:11 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
29:11 --> 29:11 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
29:11 --> 29:11 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
29:11 --> 29:11 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
29:11 --> 29:11 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
29:11 --> 29:11 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
29:11 --> 29:11 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
29:11 --> 29:12 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
29:12 --> 29:12 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
29:12 --> 29:12 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
29:12 --> 29:12 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
29:12 --> 29:12 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:12 --> 29:13 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:13 --> 29:13 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:13 --> 29:13 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:13 --> 29:13 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:13 --> 29:14 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:14 --> 29:14 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:14 --> 29:14 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:14 --> 29:14 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:14 --> 29:14 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:14 --> 29:14 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:14 --> 29:15 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:15 --> 29:15 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:15 --> 29:15 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:15 --> 29:15 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:15 --> 29:15 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:15 --> 29:16 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:16 --> 29:16 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:16 --> 29:16 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:16 --> 29:16 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:17 --> 29:17 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:17 --> 29:17 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:17 --> 29:17 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:17 --> 29:17 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:17 --> 29:17 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:18 --> 29:18 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:18 --> 29:18 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:18 --> 29:19 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:19 --> 29:19 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:19 --> 29:19 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:19 --> 29:19 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:19 --> 29:19 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:19 --> 29:19 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:19 --> 29:19 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:19 --> 29:20 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:20 --> 29:20 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:20 --> 29:20 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:20 --> 29:20 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:21 --> 29:21 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:22 --> 29:25 [SPEAKER_01]: If if rogue witnessed it, that makes sense.
29:27 --> 29:27 [SPEAKER_00]: That makes sense.
29:29 --> 29:30 [SPEAKER_00]: I get that.
29:30 --> 29:30 [SPEAKER_00]: I get that.
29:31 --> 29:41 [SPEAKER_00]: I think Charles to your play watching Charles' face as Magnino's killed hit hard.
29:44 --> 29:47 [SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, I get that point.
29:51 --> 29:57 [SPEAKER_00]: When he was on the ground, he didn't try to do all the telepathic shit.
29:57 --> 29:59 [SPEAKER_00]: It's like not working.
30:00 --> 30:04 [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, oh man, this is fucking apocalypse.
30:04 --> 30:09 [SPEAKER_00]: This is the level of military that we need in the MCU.
30:10 --> 30:12 [SPEAKER_00]: This is what I'm talking about.
30:12 --> 30:18 [SPEAKER_00]: I need this, you know, forget about, you know, universe ending shit.
30:22 --> 30:34 [SPEAKER_00]: the, you know, in your face, personal, villainry that will decimate your loved ones and keep going, like the world doesn't end.
30:34 --> 30:37 [SPEAKER_00]: It keeps going and you have to get over that.
30:38 --> 30:46 [SPEAKER_00]: As a superhero, as whatever, that's, what does that do to someone who's super powered?
30:47 --> 30:48 [SPEAKER_00]: That's what I need from them, see.
30:49 --> 31:00 [SPEAKER_01]: Hmm, I see, okay, here's, here's a hot take that might have said to you, but I think I was most interested in the apocalypse storyline when he was not apocalypse.
31:00 --> 31:08 [SPEAKER_01]: So when he was, um, when he was in Salvador and when he later when he was, you know, camp apocalypse.
31:09 --> 31:12 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I, I don't.
31:13 --> 31:39 [SPEAKER_00]: I don't be grudge any of that, because I think in Sabanore's story itself is worthy of a movie, is worthy of a story, because there's so much that the show kinda left out, there's a lot that's been done with the character of Apocalypse in the comics over the last, you know, 10 years, that.
31:40 --> 31:42 [SPEAKER_00]: is worthy of telling that story.
31:42 --> 31:48 [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I would be down for in Sabanura, you know, three episode backstory.
31:48 --> 31:50 [SPEAKER_00]: I would absolutely love that.
31:50 --> 31:52 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, it doesn't involve, yeah.
31:52 --> 31:54 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it doesn't involve the X-Men or anything like that.
31:54 --> 31:59 [SPEAKER_00]: Just him, you know, just that world, that would be cool, that would be cool.
32:00 --> 32:01 [SPEAKER_01]: I would be there for it.
32:02 --> 32:05 [SPEAKER_01]: I like the character design of him and that part too.
32:05 --> 32:07 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah, yeah, I think the whole,
32:08 --> 32:13 [SPEAKER_00]: seen because he's supposed to be the first mutant, you know, in the world.
32:14 --> 32:17 [SPEAKER_00]: So that's really important.
32:17 --> 32:26 [SPEAKER_00]: And if they're going to tell the mutant saga and the MCU, I don't, I know we know that what's his name?
32:27 --> 32:29 [SPEAKER_00]: Kylo, who's Kylo playing Kylo Ren?
32:30 --> 32:30 [SPEAKER_00]: What's his name?
32:31 --> 32:31 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, did he
32:35 --> 32:40 [SPEAKER_00]: So I already know that Adam drivers playing sinister.
32:40 --> 32:41 [SPEAKER_00]: So that's going to be the main focus.
32:42 --> 32:46 [SPEAKER_00]: But I would hope that they try to do justice at some point to the public story.
32:46 --> 32:49 [SPEAKER_00]: Because what I mean before was not all.
32:49 --> 32:53 [SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's exactly why they're going to wait a beat to go back.
32:53 --> 32:54 [SPEAKER_00]: To do that.
32:55 --> 32:55 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
32:56 --> 32:59 [SPEAKER_01]: Because Mr. Sinister, we haven't seen in live action yet.
33:02 --> 33:28 [SPEAKER_01]: great episode in the old in the OG X men animated series like one of the last two seasons maybe I think I forget or maybe I think it was the last season okay there's a great apoc oh sorry sinister origin story um yeah yeah about him and Victoria and England and all that and so recommend checking that out if you're curious
33:29 --> 33:30 [SPEAKER_00]: Really, really good stuff.
33:31 --> 33:33 [SPEAKER_00]: I think we could take a break.
33:34 --> 33:34 [SPEAKER_00]: What do you think?
33:35 --> 33:36 [SPEAKER_00]: All right, let's do it.
33:55 --> 33:56 [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, and we're back.
33:57 --> 34:00 [SPEAKER_00]: But we're back at 3 AD, 3960 AD.
34:00 --> 34:01 [SPEAKER_00]: We're in the future, baby.
34:01 --> 34:03 [SPEAKER_00]: So we went from 3 BC now with 3960 AD.
34:03 --> 34:06 [SPEAKER_00]: So we've branched from the far past and the far future.
34:16 --> 34:26 [SPEAKER_00]: Partying with from Bishop at the start of the season, Ford jumps from the 90s forward in time to the height of Apocalypse's power in 3960 AD.
34:27 --> 34:32 [SPEAKER_00]: Ford finds Wolverine, Storm, Moof, Cyclops, and Jean Grey.
34:32 --> 34:42 [SPEAKER_00]: The last two decide to stay in the future with this on Nathan, but they are captured by Apocalypse's followers who wish to use Nathan as a new vessel for Apocalypse's consciousness.
34:43 --> 35:00 [SPEAKER_00]: Mother Askani, who told Nathan he is destined to kill Apocalypse, reveals to the other X-Men that she transported them through time, one group to train Nathan in the future, and another to try to prevent the mutant in Sabanero from becoming Apocalypse in the first place.
35:01 --> 35:07 [SPEAKER_00]: They rescue Cyclops, Gene, and Nathan before attacking Apocalypse' base and freeing his captives.
35:08 --> 35:13 [SPEAKER_00]: Apocalypse travels back in time to the 1990s when he believes that X-Men are vulnerable.
35:14 --> 35:20 [SPEAKER_00]: Nathan merges with Apocalypse' ship computer, setting him on the path to becoming cable.
35:21 --> 35:27 [SPEAKER_00]: Nathan used in ships computer to send to X-Men the future X-Men back to the 1990s.
35:28 --> 35:29 [SPEAKER_00]: What did you think?
35:30 --> 35:49 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, it's that this for me was all about the relationship between Scott and Jean and, you know, young Nathan, um, and it's just, it is, it is tragic to know, they just want to raise their son and they know that like he's,
35:50 --> 36:04 [SPEAKER_01]: chosen to be separated from them through time for most of his life until he shows up later and they don't even recognize him and you know I understand why he turned out to be kind of an asshole because of all this.
36:06 --> 36:12 [SPEAKER_01]: I hoped for more from the mother a scouting plot line this season but obviously she will be back.
36:13 --> 36:15 [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if we should say why we know.
36:17 --> 36:29 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, because she is actually the other child Rachel Summers the other child of uh she's basically cable's brother and and the other child of Jean Scott.
36:30 --> 36:30 [SPEAKER_01]: So
36:33 --> 36:34 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't know.
36:34 --> 36:40 [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know why I guess they were just like laying the seed for that, and that's okay We'll let it bloom another season.
36:40 --> 36:44 [SPEAKER_01]: We know we're getting seasons annually for at least a little bit.
36:44 --> 36:45 [SPEAKER_01]: What did you think of all this though?
36:45 --> 36:47 [SPEAKER_01]: Did you expect more from that?
36:48 --> 37:00 [SPEAKER_00]: Um, I'm, I'm trying to be, I, I just don't cable Nathan.
37:02 --> 37:07 [SPEAKER_00]: Gene Scott, that whole family dynamic, it never worked for me.
37:08 --> 37:10 [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
37:10 --> 37:15 [SPEAKER_00]: I've never felt, you know, interested in them as a unit.
37:16 --> 37:20 [SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know if it's because of the way that those stories were written.
37:20 --> 37:28 [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if it's because I just my dislike for the character of cable, but I could have done without a large portion of that.
37:30 --> 37:52 [SPEAKER_00]: Like, I think the most interesting part for me was why did, you know, when four edge finds them, it wasn't clear to me why they just decided to stay in the future instead of bringing him back.
37:53 --> 38:03 [SPEAKER_01]: Because I mean, I guess it has to do with the techno virus that he caught and like he can only survive in the future something like that and he needs to.
38:05 --> 38:08 [SPEAKER_01]: have his training so he can kill Apocalypse one day.
38:08 --> 38:10 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's too much.
38:10 --> 38:11 [SPEAKER_00]: There was too much.
38:11 --> 38:13 [SPEAKER_01]: Those are not.
38:13 --> 38:15 [SPEAKER_00]: The Techno Organic virus, I'm sorry.
38:15 --> 38:22 [SPEAKER_00]: Techno Organic virus, I understand that it's a critical part of cables, you know, whole history.
38:22 --> 38:30 [SPEAKER_00]: And I get that that he needs, you know, to be able to master it and be able to become, you know, and not die.
38:30 --> 38:31 [SPEAKER_00]: So I get that.
38:34 --> 38:46 [SPEAKER_00]: but it does, I don't think they did a great job explaining why someone like forage couldn't have help put something there for him to control the techno organic.
38:46 --> 38:59 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, I think that's my whole thing with like both this and the ancient Egypt plot I'm you're talking about, where it just all feels like the story is this way because the story is supposed to be this way,
39:01 --> 39:06 [SPEAKER_01]: did feel more driven to me by the characters themselves if that makes sense.
39:07 --> 39:08 [SPEAKER_00]: No, that makes perfect sense.
39:08 --> 39:10 [SPEAKER_00]: That makes a lot of sense.
39:10 --> 39:25 [SPEAKER_00]: And I just, yeah, so again, I'm watching it, and I'm wondering these things to myself, even though as a comic reader, I get it, I understand it, but watching it, I want to add that addition to kind of,
39:26 --> 39:34 [SPEAKER_00]: give more clarity to not just me, but to the people who haven't read the comics, who don't know these things, right?
39:35 --> 39:46 [SPEAKER_00]: So just having them jump back to the past and Gene and Scott saying, no, we're going to stay here and raise him and all of these things to fulfill a prophecy.
39:48 --> 39:49 [SPEAKER_00]: I wasn't feeling it.
39:49 --> 39:50 [SPEAKER_00]: I wasn't feeling it.
39:52 --> 39:58 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no, it felt to me oddly enough like they were trading water a little bit here even though a lot was happening.
39:58 --> 40:11 [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, but I think I think that we are in the minority because I think a lot of people were really raving about and thought this was the best part of Apocalypse's story and and when I saw
40:12 --> 40:15 [SPEAKER_01]: because I was behind on the seasons when I saw people talking like this.
40:15 --> 40:18 [SPEAKER_01]: I was like, I thought that apocalypse this story was just going to end after this.
40:18 --> 40:23 [SPEAKER_01]: But no, he was the main villain throughout the entire season.
40:23 --> 40:24 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
40:25 --> 40:31 [SPEAKER_00]: I thought these two episodes, I thought this was the weakest part of the season first.
40:32 --> 40:33 [SPEAKER_01]: I thought so too.
40:33 --> 40:33 [SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
40:33 --> 40:38 [SPEAKER_01]: And I guess then that makes sense why they dropped three at once.
40:38 --> 40:42 [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I just noticed a lot of people saying the opposite.
40:42 --> 40:44 [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I wasn't a fan.
40:44 --> 40:46 [SPEAKER_00]: I thought this was the weakest part of the season.
40:46 --> 40:48 [SPEAKER_00]: Like the combination of this
40:49 --> 40:54 [SPEAKER_00]: part of the history was I I didn't feel moved by it.
40:55 --> 40:55 [SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.
40:56 --> 40:57 [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I didn't feel a bit.
40:57 --> 41:07 [SPEAKER_01]: I did or you know what it did like it made me feel sad more later to see cable fighting against his parents.
41:08 --> 41:09 [SPEAKER_01]: Um yeah.
41:10 --> 41:10 [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
41:10 --> 41:15 [SPEAKER_01]: I gave me more sadness at but an understanding there which I suppose is the point of these
41:19 --> 41:25 [SPEAKER_00]: All right, I need to move on to the 90s because 39, 16, 8, do it for me.
41:25 --> 41:26 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm just putting that out there.
41:26 --> 41:27 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry if it did for you.
41:28 --> 41:30 [SPEAKER_00]: If you're listening, that's cool.
41:30 --> 41:33 [SPEAKER_00]: But 39, I don't want to read it.
41:33 --> 41:36 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that was my least embarrassing storyline for me, too.
41:36 --> 41:37 [SPEAKER_01]: So, all right, yeah.
41:37 --> 41:47 [SPEAKER_00]: So, meanwhile, in the 90s, in the absence of the X-Men, cable, cycla, silak, and arc angel plan, a new team to stop a apocalypse.
41:48 --> 41:57 [SPEAKER_00]: And Dr. Valerie Cooper feels a US government sanctioned team of new-ins call extractor, featuring havoc, Polaris, multiple man, strong guy, and Wolfsbane.
41:58 --> 42:03 [SPEAKER_00]: Cooper uses them to capture runaway young mutants who are hoping to seek shelter with the X-Men.
42:04 --> 42:12 [SPEAKER_00]: Cable recruits Jubilee and Sunspot to join his own team, X-Force, and they track down war one of Apocalypse's Horsemen.
42:12 --> 42:19 [SPEAKER_00]: After Silak is unable to read War's Mind, Archangel execution on Cable's orders devastating Jubilee.
42:21 --> 42:28 [SPEAKER_00]: deducing that word's mind was protected by Emma Frost, X-Force finds her and she leads them into a trap, set by X-Factor.
42:29 --> 42:32 [SPEAKER_00]: Jubilee is captured and interrogated by havoc and Polaris.
42:32 --> 42:39 [SPEAKER_00]: She is imprisoned with the other young mutants but is able to convince Polaris who used to be a member of the exponent to help her escape.
42:40 --> 42:47 [SPEAKER_00]: Jubilee fights off governance soldiers, frees other mutants, and gets them to X-Force who reluctantly agree to help.
42:48 --> 42:51 [SPEAKER_00]: X-Force, Abrandon, Fugiatez, My Cooper.
42:52 --> 42:59 [SPEAKER_00]: What'd you think about X-Force, X-Factor, strong guy, multiple men?
42:59 --> 43:01 [SPEAKER_01]: So we had, What do you think about this?
43:01 --> 43:06 [SPEAKER_01]: We had in this season, of course, the X-Men, and the X-Men start X-Core, fine.
43:06 --> 43:17 [SPEAKER_01]: But then they throw an X-Force and X-Factor, and I think I would love to hear from people who are not familiar with these from the comics, whether that was a too many X-Teams for you at once.
43:17 --> 43:21 [SPEAKER_01]: They're like, no, we got all the X teams this season and they're all fighting each other.
43:22 --> 43:34 [SPEAKER_01]: It's like the it's kind of funny because it's like a parallel with what's going on in the MCU proper with the Avengers with the Z and Sam Wilson's team on the other hand.
43:35 --> 43:43 [SPEAKER_00]: No, I think it's a little different because in the Marvel universe, I guess everybody has an X gene.
43:45 --> 43:52 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, that's what, that's what they're doing so on in X4's, right?
43:53 --> 43:59 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, I know she, they haven't identified her as a mutant, but isn't she like a mutant who doesn't express powers or something in the comics?
44:01 --> 44:02 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I got it.
44:02 --> 44:05 [SPEAKER_01]: He's a dead whatever she is by the end of the season anyway.
44:06 --> 44:08 [SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, spoiler.
44:09 --> 44:11 [SPEAKER_00]: I got it looked at.
44:11 --> 44:12 [SPEAKER_00]: I got it looked at her.
44:14 --> 44:23 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, anyway, she's dead at the end of season, so she's a mystique mutant at the end of the season, but yeah, I thought it was fun.
44:23 --> 44:29 [SPEAKER_01]: This was like for me, this was the middle of the pack, we're getting more, I'm getting more into this, this was, um,
44:30 --> 44:41 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I enjoyed seeing that this is a classic X-Men thing where you have different groups who ultimately want the same thing.
44:41 --> 44:43 [SPEAKER_01]: You know, they want equality for mutants.
44:43 --> 44:49 [SPEAKER_01]: They want they just want to be able to live basically, but they approach it in different ways.
44:49 --> 44:52 [SPEAKER_01]: You know, are we working on behalf of the government?
44:52 --> 44:55 [SPEAKER_01]: Are we, you know, being a little bit more
45:00 --> 45:16 [SPEAKER_01]: Charles teams always do it and so I like seeing those dynamics at play they could have leaned into it more but it was this was like a part of the season that for me felt really stuffed with characters.
45:17 --> 45:23 [SPEAKER_01]: I do love Polaris though I have a soft spot for Polaris so I'm glad she got a chance to shine.
45:30 --> 45:32 [SPEAKER_00]: Jubilee is one of my favorite characters.
45:33 --> 45:39 [SPEAKER_00]: So giving her the opportunity to shine the way that they did was always going to be a hit with me.
45:40 --> 45:49 [SPEAKER_00]: So I was happy to get more of Jubilation Lee in on-screen and her actually doing shit that looked impactful.
45:51 --> 45:55 [SPEAKER_00]: So that was a highlight of this part of the season.
45:57 --> 45:59 [SPEAKER_00]: I thought Sunspots use was a little
46:03 --> 46:06 [SPEAKER_00]: He was there, but almost like he was not there kind of sort of.
46:07 --> 46:08 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know.
46:08 --> 46:09 [SPEAKER_01]: You didn't have much to do.
46:09 --> 46:12 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so I don't know why they wanted to include him.
46:14 --> 46:19 [SPEAKER_00]: in the season at all in this way when he didn't have, like you just said, much to do.
46:19 --> 46:22 [SPEAKER_01]: I think you just said, remember he's here, yeah.
46:23 --> 46:26 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and it's another character that I really like from the comics.
46:26 --> 46:33 [SPEAKER_00]: So I was just like, I wish they had utilized and more, because he, you know, he's a cool ass character.
46:36 --> 46:38 [SPEAKER_00]: I thought the stuff with Cooper and
46:40 --> 46:58 [SPEAKER_00]: ex-factor in how these mutants are working for the government in order to capture other mutants was really a smart idea for them to show because that is at the crux of what the X-Men are.
46:59 --> 47:03 [SPEAKER_00]: Do we work with humans or do we work totally without them?
47:04 --> 47:05 [SPEAKER_00]: Do we try to fit in
47:08 --> 47:32 [SPEAKER_00]: You know, and I think this was a nice way to show that type of dichotomy, to show that type of, you know, difference within mutant hood, mutant dumb and just be like not everyone is on board in the way that is different from not everyone on the board like Magneto and Xavier were opposite ends of the spectrum and season one.
47:33 --> 47:33 [SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
47:34 --> 47:39 [SPEAKER_00]: So I like that they use it that way with X-Factor.
47:39 --> 47:47 [SPEAKER_00]: X-Force, when cable shot do, that's X-Force.
47:48 --> 47:51 [SPEAKER_00]: Like, they're those guys.
47:52 --> 47:53 [SPEAKER_00]: They're those people.
47:54 --> 47:55 [SPEAKER_00]: They do that.
47:56 --> 47:58 [SPEAKER_00]: Like, this is what X-Force is set up to do.
48:02 --> 48:12 [SPEAKER_00]: Mutant or not who are threats to mutants, they're the assassination squad, they're the hits squad.
48:14 --> 48:22 [SPEAKER_00]: So when X-Force is on the scene, they're not holding back, they're not here to incapacitate, they're here to kill.
48:24 --> 48:27 [SPEAKER_00]: So I was happy that they show that X-Force is really
48:29 --> 48:36 [SPEAKER_00]: from other teams in that they're willing to do things and that they will do things that other mutants want to.
48:38 --> 48:47 [SPEAKER_00]: As far as how this worked as a part of the season, part of the show,
48:49 --> 49:03 [SPEAKER_00]: It was nice to see that all the shenanigans that Scott and Jean had done in the future didn't work.
49:06 --> 49:07 [SPEAKER_00]: That tickled me.
49:07 --> 49:09 [SPEAKER_00]: Like, yeah, all that shit y'all was talking about.
49:09 --> 49:13 [SPEAKER_00]: And I think this motherfucker, he's still here being an asshole.
49:15 --> 49:41 [SPEAKER_01]: You know, maybe that's my problem with those other storylines they felt inconsequential like we're just going through the motions to set to make happen What we know is going to happen, and so it's like the story didn't really even start to like I back to the 90s Yeah, and now that could be that I can see that I can see that but it was just funny to me to watch cable, you know, fully as a grown human as a grown adult
49:42 --> 49:49 [SPEAKER_00]: just like, skewing everything that, you know, Gene and Scott have probably tried to impart on them.
49:50 --> 49:58 [SPEAKER_00]: And the way that Magneto and Charles had tried to, you know, shape in Sabah Nure didn't work.
49:59 --> 50:06 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, whatever Gene and Scott did trying to shape, you know, Nathan at this point, we could say it didn't work.
50:07 --> 50:11 [SPEAKER_00]: So that duality between those two things was really cool to watch.
50:14 --> 50:29 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and playing into, you know what we were talking about, the tension between the X4 and X-Factor, blah, blah, blah, blah, so in the X4 side, we have one of my low-key, like,
50:38 --> 50:58 [SPEAKER_01]: This is a term in Star Wars fandom for all the random side characters that the Glub Shadows and like everyone has their favorite Glub Shadows and our changel's one of my favorite Glub Shadows because I think he has an interesting stories woozy play by Ben Foster back in those 90s movies and
50:59 --> 51:14 [SPEAKER_01]: you've gotten to see if you go back to the original X-Men animated series and you see his whole story play out where he's kind of like this spoiled rich kid who grew wings and like hated himself for being different.
51:14 --> 51:23 [SPEAKER_01]: It's you know it's like many things it's a metaphor for being gay or trans or something that's your revocally part of you but you can't control and society tells you it's bad.
51:24 --> 51:25 [SPEAKER_01]: Even though it's like you have fucking wings.
51:26 --> 51:26 [SPEAKER_01]: It's awesome.
51:27 --> 51:46 [SPEAKER_01]: Um, so you know ends up becoming upon to Apocalypse becoming a horseman of Apocalypse and now is back Facing Apocalypse again from another side in the season and yeah, I don't know I just find it a low key character I always wish got more screen time.
51:46 --> 51:47 [SPEAKER_01]: So I was excited
51:48 --> 51:51 [SPEAKER_01]: that we got our next Xman casting announcement.
51:51 --> 51:57 [SPEAKER_01]: We responded to the Xman casting announcement so far at the end of the Spider-Man episode, for anyone else.
51:58 --> 51:58 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, yes, we did.
51:59 --> 52:14 [SPEAKER_01]: but we got a new one, which is Angelson, so this is the pre-apocalypse version, Angel with the feather wings, is going to be played by Assa German, who was in Gen V, what do you think of this casting?
52:14 --> 52:15 [SPEAKER_01]: And what do you think of it?
52:15 --> 52:16 [SPEAKER_01]: I don't like it.
52:16 --> 52:17 [SPEAKER_01]: What do you think of it?
52:17 --> 52:19 [SPEAKER_01]: For the story, they cast this character.
52:20 --> 52:24 [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I think they're obviously
52:29 --> 52:41 [SPEAKER_00]: with these X-Men, but it gives me pause about storm, what the involvement, what her involvement would be in this in the story in the movie that they do tell.
52:42 --> 52:47 [SPEAKER_00]: Because it seems like they're casting the original five so far.
52:50 --> 52:55 [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm just wondering how they're going to incorporate storm into that
52:59 --> 53:08 [SPEAKER_00]: we have to wait until doomsday and secret wars are over to even have an inkling of what the stories are going to be like.
53:09 --> 53:22 [SPEAKER_01]: May be me, yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if we got storm or as some of these, any of these others who are introduced, if they showed up in doomsday or something like that, I wouldn't be surprised by that at all, to see.
53:22 --> 53:23 [SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't be surprised by that.
53:24 --> 53:31 [SPEAKER_01]: Since we already got Jean Grey, and I mean, obviously, they are, they're going to do their own thing with the timelines.
53:31 --> 53:34 [SPEAKER_01]: They're not, you know, beholden to the comics as ever.
53:34 --> 53:39 [SPEAKER_01]: I think this animated series is the closest we're going to get to the comics.
53:39 --> 53:47 [SPEAKER_01]: So, I don't mind them recombining characters from different areas of X-Men, just because, like, people want to see Storm.
53:47 --> 53:47 [SPEAKER_01]: That's fine.
53:48 --> 53:49 [SPEAKER_01]: I think yes, I want to see Storm.
53:50 --> 53:50 [SPEAKER_01]: Do what you need.
53:50 --> 53:51 [SPEAKER_01]: I agree.
53:53 --> 53:54 [SPEAKER_01]: age up, baby, to Chalah.
53:55 --> 53:58 [SPEAKER_01]: It seems so.
53:59 --> 54:10 [SPEAKER_01]: But I have learned with them, including Angel, if that means that apocalypse is a villain, they want to work back toward again in, like, a few years.
54:11 --> 54:14 [SPEAKER_00]: I don't necessarily think so because, the,
54:16 --> 54:33 [SPEAKER_00]: Angel becoming more, I mean, becoming the angel of death or whatever this character was, I think, and Archangel was, he was not, there's so much stories that they told with Angel, aside from the apocalypse story.
54:33 --> 54:36 [SPEAKER_01]: It would be good if they did, it's the same with Jean Grey.
54:36 --> 54:42 [SPEAKER_01]: Like I hope they're, and they're setting the seeds to eventually do the Dark Venus store, Phoenix story, hopefully justice is time.
54:43 --> 54:48 [SPEAKER_01]: But I hope they spend some time exploring other stories along the way.
54:48 --> 54:49 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, yes.
54:49 --> 54:51 [SPEAKER_00]: I think that's what the incentive is.
54:52 --> 55:00 [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if they're going to be doing these things because there's such a rich history that they can tell with these characters
55:04 --> 55:17 [SPEAKER_00]: you know, which goes to your point of them not casting of casting semester as the first villain, because we haven't seen semester as a villain in live action.
55:18 --> 55:18 [SPEAKER_01]: Right.
55:18 --> 55:30 [SPEAKER_00]: So I think that's where we're headed hopefully to have these other characters that we haven't seen show up on screen and tell those stories.
55:30 --> 55:35 [SPEAKER_00]: because those stories is just as good as the popular stories or the dark feeling saga.
55:36 --> 55:38 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no, I agree.
55:38 --> 55:46 [SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot more to, and I mean, it's just, there's like this moment of panic, like let's tell familiar stories, but I think, right.
55:47 --> 55:50 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I say a great go with familiar characters.
55:50 --> 55:52 [SPEAKER_01]: Like I said, yes, please storm.
55:54 --> 55:56 [SPEAKER_01]: But you can tell new stories with that storm.
55:56 --> 55:57 [SPEAKER_00]: Right, right.
55:58 --> 55:59 [SPEAKER_00]: And I think that's the most important thing.
55:59 --> 56:04 [SPEAKER_00]: Tell new stories with compelling villains.
56:06 --> 56:09 [SPEAKER_00]: And Apocalypse is not the only compelling villain that they have.
56:10 --> 56:10 [SPEAKER_01]: No.
56:11 --> 56:13 [SPEAKER_01]: Nor Kang or Doom or you know this.
56:13 --> 56:14 [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
56:14 --> 56:15 [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
56:16 --> 56:16 [SPEAKER_00]: All right.
56:17 --> 56:18 [SPEAKER_00]: Let's move on.
56:18 --> 56:22 [SPEAKER_00]: We're going to go to Wolverine's claw quest.
56:24 --> 56:31 [SPEAKER_00]: And a mid-credit scene, Wolverine is back in the 1990s and receives a file on the Weapon X program from Captain America in Black Widow.
56:32 --> 56:36 [SPEAKER_00]: Wolverine and more frequent members of the former's old Hitsquad team X.
56:37 --> 56:38 [SPEAKER_00]: Here we go again, Team X.
56:40 --> 56:46 [SPEAKER_00]: Consisting of Sabotube, Lady Deathstrike, Maverick and Garrison Kane to find a
56:48 --> 56:54 [SPEAKER_00]: were the next facility and assassinate Dr. Abraham Cornelius.
56:55 --> 56:59 [SPEAKER_00]: Their helicopters now by mutated birds and cane dies in the crash.
56:59 --> 57:04 [SPEAKER_00]: The others find the facility and ruins and festive were alien insects that have killed everyone.
57:04 --> 57:07 [SPEAKER_00]: They see Cornelius mutate into one of the creatures.
57:07 --> 57:12 [SPEAKER_00]: Morph, Sabritooth and Lady Deathstrike learn that the insects are the brood and alien
57:17 --> 57:22 [SPEAKER_00]: Wolverine is infected by the brood while trying to restore his adamantium skeleton.
57:23 --> 57:25 [SPEAKER_00]: The real reason he was he created this mission.
57:26 --> 57:31 [SPEAKER_00]: The infected Wolverine kills Maverick, and accidentally releases Omega Red.
57:31 --> 57:41 [SPEAKER_00]: The others used the adamantian process to purge Wolverine of the Bruins' infection, and he uses his restored adamantian claws to defeat Omega Red.
57:41 --> 57:45 [SPEAKER_00]: The survivors escaped from the facility as it explodes, destroying the Bruins.
57:46 --> 57:50 [SPEAKER_00]: Moaf is saddened that Wolverine believes he is nothing without his claws.
57:51 --> 57:51 [SPEAKER_00]: What did you think?
57:53 --> 58:00 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, well, first of all, I'm grateful for this summary for making me go back and watch that mid-credits scene that I missed at first.
58:00 --> 58:01 [SPEAKER_01]: I hate that.
58:01 --> 58:02 [SPEAKER_01]: Are you missed?
58:02 --> 58:03 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
58:03 --> 58:10 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I eat that on streamers, they auto play the next thing without just letting you sit through the credits anyway.
58:10 --> 58:10 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
58:10 --> 58:11 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
58:11 --> 58:20 [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, this episode, like the episode, this is mostly about this is where I really locked into the season.
58:20 --> 58:20 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
58:21 --> 58:25 [SPEAKER_01]: I was also, we got an alpha flight reference, like shout out to alpha flights.
58:25 --> 58:27 [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know why I really like that.
58:27 --> 58:43 [SPEAKER_01]: I like the like weird little teams, like we also morph turned into flat man, which is one of the um, one of the great lakes of interest, but uh, I can't believe we got our first great lakes
58:50 --> 58:53 [SPEAKER_01]: Josh Gad is lost inside Dorman forever.
58:53 --> 58:55 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry Josh Gad.
58:55 --> 58:57 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry Kevin Friedy doesn't want to save you.
58:59 --> 58:59 [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway.
59:01 --> 59:07 [SPEAKER_01]: Um, but no, I just, I, I like, I'm glad that Morph got something to really do here.
59:07 --> 59:16 [SPEAKER_01]: Um, that we really got to see from his perspective because there is the feeling that Morph is probably a little bit in love with Wolverine and just seeing Wolverine.
59:20 --> 59:27 [SPEAKER_01]: like their friends, but Wolverine was definitely putting himself above morph and everyone else.
59:29 --> 59:39 [SPEAKER_01]: And morph just seeing, like when you are in love with someone and some of that shine wears off and you see their flaws, that's what we saw morph going through here.
59:41 --> 59:43 [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, and I thought it was an
59:48 --> 59:49 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I really liked this one.
59:49 --> 59:50 [SPEAKER_01]: I really liked it.
59:50 --> 59:57 [SPEAKER_01]: And Zatuichi said in the Discord, this might be my favorite episode of the series, the Wolverine Morph interaction was so good.
59:58 --> 01:00:09 [SPEAKER_01]: Although Harry Lyme was less keen said great animation, but some contrives nonsense in the episode just to return to status quo, at least Morph got something to do besides a cameo machine.
01:00:11 --> 01:00:13 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, um, okay.
01:00:13 --> 01:00:14 [SPEAKER_01]: So it's to go.
01:00:14 --> 01:00:17 [SPEAKER_01]: We'll rem back with with his admin team clause.
01:00:18 --> 01:00:18 [SPEAKER_01]: Fine.
01:00:19 --> 01:00:19 [SPEAKER_01]: But
01:00:20 --> 01:00:24 [SPEAKER_01]: I think that, yeah, that's something that was inevitably going to happen.
01:00:24 --> 01:00:40 [SPEAKER_01]: Well, what was interesting to me was this exploration of Wolverine's psyche through more of its perspective, through the perspective of someone who cares about Wolverine, but knows they will never have the same feelings returned in the same way.
01:00:40 --> 01:00:40 [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
01:00:40 --> 01:00:41 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah.
01:00:42 --> 01:00:43 [SPEAKER_00]: Would you?
01:00:43 --> 01:00:45 [SPEAKER_00]: This might have been my favorite episode.
01:00:45 --> 01:00:46 [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
01:00:47 --> 01:00:51 [SPEAKER_00]: Um, not just because of the morph Wolverines stuff, but because of the brood.
01:00:52 --> 01:00:52 [SPEAKER_01]: No, okay.
01:00:53 --> 01:01:06 [SPEAKER_00]: It's highly underutilized, you know, characters in MCU, like, this, this has, the making.
01:01:09 --> 01:01:10 [SPEAKER_00]: Just an amazing horror story.
01:01:12 --> 01:01:14 [SPEAKER_00]: I can imagine the brood.
01:01:14 --> 01:01:23 [SPEAKER_00]: Just an amazing, you know, invasion of the body snatchers type of story happening in the Marvel Universe.
01:01:23 --> 01:01:34 [SPEAKER_00]: We have zombies and I would love to get a brood why if, you know, because I think it would be really good horror stuff.
01:01:37 --> 01:01:53 [SPEAKER_00]: The morph and Wolverine interactions, I thought, like you said, highlighted Wolverine and why, you know, a lot of the support characters, a lot of the characters in the
01:02:03 --> 01:02:16 [SPEAKER_00]: And it took, and I think in the comics, especially it takes a, he goes through a lot of growth where people start to actually want to be around Wolverine.
01:02:17 --> 01:02:26 [SPEAKER_00]: You know, he has interaction with individual characters, genes, storm, you know, Jubilee.
01:02:28 --> 01:02:39 [SPEAKER_00]: his relationship with Scott has always been, you know, because of their both, their love for Jean has always been, you know, adversarial and frosty.
01:02:40 --> 01:02:46 [SPEAKER_00]: But there's not, you know, he's not a warm, friendly, cuddly character.
01:02:47 --> 01:02:48 [SPEAKER_00]: Never has been.
01:02:49 --> 01:02:52 [SPEAKER_00]: And I think it was nice to showcase that
01:02:55 --> 01:03:09 [SPEAKER_00]: you know, we don't need him to be, we don't need Wolverine to be like this early character to get that, but watching more of react to him was what we needed to see how other people view him.
01:03:10 --> 01:03:15 [SPEAKER_00]: How other people can potentially see the callousness and how he treats others.
01:03:17 --> 01:03:19 [SPEAKER_00]: And that are not in his circle.
01:03:20 --> 01:03:21 [SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
01:03:22 --> 01:03:35 [SPEAKER_01]: And we also had the complication of his ex-lady death strike being there, which is, you know, you know, you get the full fuller exploration of that story in the original animated series.
01:03:35 --> 01:03:39 [SPEAKER_01]: And that was also the one set in Japan also had lady death strike too, right?
01:03:39 --> 01:03:40 [SPEAKER_01]: I think, but a different version.
01:03:40 --> 01:03:44 [SPEAKER_01]: This design is always so creepy, where it is.
01:03:48 --> 01:03:54 [SPEAKER_00]: finger claws, I guess we'll call them, I don't know, but she's a very creepy character.
01:03:54 --> 01:04:03 [SPEAKER_01]: But just yeah, the interactions where she's kind of helping morph see, like wake up, you know, this is, this is a same person.
01:04:03 --> 01:04:03 [SPEAKER_01]: I've been there.
01:04:04 --> 01:04:05 [SPEAKER_00]: I've been there.
01:04:05 --> 01:04:14 [SPEAKER_00]: I've, you know, been in your shoes, you know, and it was like you said it was very nice to see those interactions.
01:04:14 --> 01:04:15 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
01:04:16 --> 01:04:16 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly.
01:04:18 --> 01:04:19 [SPEAKER_00]: Alright, let's say we take a break.
01:04:20 --> 01:04:20 [SPEAKER_01]: We're ready.
01:04:21 --> 01:04:23 [SPEAKER_00]: It's before we come back here.
01:04:41 --> 01:04:42 [SPEAKER_00]: So, we're back!
01:04:43 --> 01:04:45 [SPEAKER_00]: We're visiting Genoso.
01:04:46 --> 01:04:54 [SPEAKER_00]: Xavier uses the danger room to relieve, to relive Magnetal's death, accidentally influencing the program to reduce the safety measures.
01:04:55 --> 01:05:00 [SPEAKER_00]: Cooper dismisses Polaris from X-Factor due to her volatility.
01:05:01 --> 01:05:04 [SPEAKER_00]: And she returns to Xavier's schools for mutants.
01:05:06 --> 01:05:09 [SPEAKER_00]: Xavier makes storm the school's
01:05:14 --> 01:05:24 [SPEAKER_00]: The danger room attacks some students, asserting that they need to be ready for greater threats and taunts Polaris about her strange relationships with a father magneto.
01:05:24 --> 01:05:33 [SPEAKER_00]: Polaris attacks the room for enough power that is able to take on a humanoid form accidentally hurting some students in the process.
01:05:33 --> 01:05:49 [SPEAKER_00]: Danger goes to genotia and battles Xavier and the X-Men, best thing then due to her knowledge of their powers, Polaris and Bishop Follower, and Xavier uses his positive memories of magneto to encourage Polaris to embrace her power and defeat danger.
01:05:49 --> 01:05:58 [SPEAKER_00]: With the U.S. government banning the X-Men, Xavier decides to base his team at genotia and establish X-orp.
01:06:01 --> 01:06:08 [SPEAKER_01]: So this is where, yeah, they gave it and they took it the way we're magic shows up.
01:06:08 --> 01:06:14 [SPEAKER_01]: And then, and I did have like, she showed up and I was like, oh, no, this is Jenosha before the fall.
01:06:14 --> 01:06:16 [SPEAKER_01]: Like, this is not going to end well.
01:06:16 --> 01:06:20 [SPEAKER_01]: And it's not going to be Colossus or brother who dies because he's still around.
01:06:21 --> 01:06:26 [SPEAKER_01]: Um, so yeah, I was, I was bummed that they just gave us two seconds of magic to take her away.
01:06:26 --> 01:06:29 [SPEAKER_01]: But Annie Taylor joy back in this role.
01:06:30 --> 01:06:31 [SPEAKER_01]: Do a follow up to new mutants.
01:06:32 --> 01:06:34 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no, no, please, please.
01:06:34 --> 01:06:36 [SPEAKER_00]: No follow up to new mutants.
01:06:36 --> 01:06:37 [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, fine, just a magic spin off.
01:06:40 --> 01:06:44 [SPEAKER_00]: That's fine, I don't want that new meal and get that out of here.
01:06:44 --> 01:06:48 [SPEAKER_01]: I like it, it was, I mean, it wasn't my favorite, but it was... Come on!
01:06:49 --> 01:06:50 [SPEAKER_01]: What's your favorite?
01:06:50 --> 01:06:51 [SPEAKER_00]: What's your favorite?
01:06:51 --> 01:06:51 [SPEAKER_00]: You'd like me.
01:06:52 --> 01:06:55 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's like a horror story, X-Men.
01:06:55 --> 01:06:58 [SPEAKER_01]: It was... We magic, like, of course I like that.
01:07:00 --> 01:07:00 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, my God.
01:07:00 --> 01:07:02 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying it's my favorite.
01:07:02 --> 01:07:04 [SPEAKER_00]: I just cared about magic.
01:07:04 --> 01:07:05 [SPEAKER_00]: They did her well.
01:07:05 --> 01:07:07 [SPEAKER_00]: I just cared about magic.
01:07:11 --> 01:07:12 [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, go ahead.
01:07:12 --> 01:07:12 [SPEAKER_00]: I digress.
01:07:13 --> 01:07:17 [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, but this is where Polaris really got to shine and because
01:07:18 --> 01:07:29 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they could have, like, I would have loved if they'd spent more time establishing her relationship with her father, but I guess a lot of the point is the lack thereof.
01:07:29 --> 01:07:44 [SPEAKER_01]: And just seeing, yeah, that whole thing where she in genoship is like kind of channeling him and that closure, that it did partial closure because, you know, things are not so easy to solve, but it brought comfort to both her and Charles.
01:07:49 --> 01:07:50 [SPEAKER_00]: Are you shipping Bishop and Polaris?
01:07:52 --> 01:07:55 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the show obviously wants us to be, so...
01:07:55 --> 01:07:56 [SPEAKER_00]: But are you shipping?
01:07:57 --> 01:08:01 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, sure, like, it's... You don't sound like you're shipping them.
01:08:02 --> 01:08:06 [SPEAKER_01]: I did so far that it's like they're being nice to each other, but it's not.
01:08:06 --> 01:08:11 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not kidding, like the standout, QT, little moment or emotional things.
01:08:11 --> 01:08:13 [SPEAKER_00]: So you're an anti-vicious polarist?
01:08:13 --> 01:08:15 [SPEAKER_01]: Stop it, stop it, stop it, no!
01:08:15 --> 01:08:17 [SPEAKER_01]: You're anti-poshed!
01:08:19 --> 01:08:21 [SPEAKER_01]: not putting words in my mouth.
01:08:23 --> 01:08:28 [SPEAKER_01]: I just think that they could do more to give us the yearning, you know?
01:08:29 --> 01:08:30 [SPEAKER_01]: Give us the yearning.
01:08:30 --> 01:08:31 [SPEAKER_01]: That's all I'm asking for.
01:08:31 --> 01:08:33 [SPEAKER_01]: And then I will be picking them.
01:08:33 --> 01:08:37 [SPEAKER_01]: But so far, yeah, obviously they're setting something up there and all right, let's go.
01:08:38 --> 01:09:07 [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right
01:09:08 --> 01:09:10 [SPEAKER_01]: But then I feel like there's ship or somehow involved there.
01:09:11 --> 01:09:16 [SPEAKER_01]: Like it's a polyamory situation with some transhuman polyamory.
01:09:17 --> 01:09:19 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, gosh.
01:09:19 --> 01:09:22 [SPEAKER_00]: But yes, I'm down with the Bishop Follaris.
01:09:22 --> 01:09:24 [SPEAKER_00]: Whatever it's going to be, let's see what it's going to be.
01:09:24 --> 01:09:25 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
01:09:26 --> 01:09:28 [SPEAKER_00]: I thought Danger was really cool.
01:09:29 --> 01:09:30 [SPEAKER_00]: She Danger has this,
01:09:32 --> 01:09:45 [SPEAKER_00]: interesting comic arc in the X-Men comics, where she, you know, the Dangeron become sentient, and become the member of, so those are, they had a couple of fun stories with Danger involved, so that was cool.
01:09:45 --> 01:09:47 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he even showed it out.
01:09:47 --> 01:09:50 [SPEAKER_01]: We didn't astonishing X-Men, so I guess that's that.
01:09:50 --> 01:09:51 [SPEAKER_00]: There you go.
01:09:51 --> 01:09:53 [SPEAKER_00]: So that was really cool to see.
01:09:53 --> 01:09:58 [SPEAKER_00]: Um, and yeah, just think making storm to head
01:10:01 --> 01:10:10 [SPEAKER_00]: You know, that's going to be really, um, season, you know, this, to me, this set up a lot for season three.
01:10:12 --> 01:10:20 [SPEAKER_01]: It is interesting that, sorry, I keep thinking about the live action, but it is interesting that storm and live action is about the same age.
01:10:20 --> 01:10:23 [SPEAKER_01]: Why I guess, no, yeah, she should be the same age of Scott and Jane.
01:10:24 --> 01:10:24 [SPEAKER_01]: Um, yeah.
01:10:25 --> 01:10:33 [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I just because I do think of her most often as like the headmistress, you know, I because she has that presence about her.
01:10:33 --> 01:10:34 [SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.
01:10:34 --> 01:10:35 [SPEAKER_00]: Mm-hmm.
01:10:35 --> 01:10:39 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not necessarily because of her age, it's just the way that storm has always carried us off.
01:10:40 --> 01:10:41 [SPEAKER_01]: No, like who are you going to put in charge?
01:10:41 --> 01:10:42 [SPEAKER_01]: Obviously storm.
01:10:42 --> 01:10:42 [SPEAKER_00]: You're right.
01:10:42 --> 01:10:43 [SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be her.
01:10:45 --> 01:10:46 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, duh.
01:10:47 --> 01:10:48 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, duh.
01:10:48 --> 01:10:51 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you know, you know,
01:10:52 --> 01:10:54 [SPEAKER_00]: Scott has covered long way again.
01:10:54 --> 01:10:58 [SPEAKER_00]: I keep referring to in the comics, but Scott is coming long way in the comics.
01:10:58 --> 01:11:02 [SPEAKER_01]: So even in this show, I still my Scott appreciation redemption arc.
01:11:02 --> 01:11:05 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so that there's something there.
01:11:05 --> 01:11:10 [SPEAKER_00]: But I think this episode was laying the groundwork for season three.
01:11:12 --> 01:11:25 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, storm head mistress Bishop Polaris, you know, Xavier is setting up on Chernosa government banning X-Men things of that age.
01:11:25 --> 01:11:27 [SPEAKER_00]: I think this is all setting up season three.
01:11:28 --> 01:11:47 [SPEAKER_01]: And also I think it's setting up that, you know, there's a lot of talk that Bota Mayo and the original creator of the show wanted to do an onslaught story and I think we saw hints of that being set up here with traces of perhaps magnetos psychic energy left behind in Charles.
01:11:48 --> 01:11:50 [SPEAKER_00]: Which is what I was referring to earlier.
01:11:50 --> 01:11:51 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, about setting out.
01:11:58 --> 01:12:06 [SPEAKER_00]: and it would be interesting to see that they take any of these threads out and how much they use what they set the groundwork here with.
01:12:06 --> 01:12:08 [SPEAKER_00]: How much that comes into play.
01:12:08 --> 01:12:12 [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I mean, that's a great thing about them doing this.
01:12:13 --> 01:12:18 [SPEAKER_01]: They're already producing season four as they wrap up season three.
01:12:18 --> 01:12:19 [SPEAKER_01]: So they can do it once a year.
01:12:19 --> 01:12:24 [SPEAKER_01]: But it means that they are the conversations are in conversation.
01:12:24 --> 01:12:27 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, sorry, the seasons are in conversation with each other.
01:12:27 --> 01:12:32 [SPEAKER_01]: So they can make sure that they are doing set-up and payoffs across seasons.
01:12:34 --> 01:12:34 [SPEAKER_00]: OK.
01:12:35 --> 01:12:46 [SPEAKER_00]: So let's move on to Apocalypse's 90s era in Athens Apocalypse resurrects Gambit to be one of his horsemen
01:12:47 --> 01:12:55 [SPEAKER_00]: X-Force proposes an alliance with the X-Men to find Gambit, who returns to his home in New Orleans, and bring Washington's friends and family.
01:12:56 --> 01:13:02 [SPEAKER_00]: Gambit and his followers attack the X-Men and X-Force, with Gambit, bring Washington and Kerala, and kidnap in rogue.
01:13:03 --> 01:13:09 [SPEAKER_00]: Gambit tells rogue that a pocket-lips-to-elin-of-a-condra gave her some of his power, making her the external.
01:13:10 --> 01:13:13 [SPEAKER_00]: But she abandoned him as revenge for what he did to her city.
01:13:14 --> 01:13:19 [SPEAKER_00]: Gambit plans to use the power of the external to allow a road to be within forever.
01:13:19 --> 01:13:25 [SPEAKER_00]: During a wedding ceremony, Gambit summons the external, Kilsor, and gives her power to rogue.
01:13:26 --> 01:13:32 [SPEAKER_00]: The X-Men and X-Force arrive in fight with Gambit followers, including Nightcrawler, who overpowers them.
01:13:32 --> 01:13:39 [SPEAKER_00]: Xavier enters Gambit's mind to find out Apocalypse's consciousness has control and is too strong for him.
01:13:40 --> 01:13:45 [SPEAKER_00]: Rogue enters Gambit's mind and helps him take back control from Apocalypse, freeing his followers.
01:13:46 --> 01:13:52 [SPEAKER_00]: After cable attempts to kill the unconscious gambit, Jubilee and Sunspot leave with the X-Men.
01:13:52 --> 01:13:57 [SPEAKER_00]: Later, Cooper proposes an alliance between X-Force and X-Factor.
01:13:58 --> 01:13:59 [SPEAKER_00]: What you think about all of this stuff is
01:14:01 --> 01:14:06 [SPEAKER_00]: Because a lot of things happen in this, a lot of things that went down.
01:14:06 --> 01:14:10 [SPEAKER_01]: This is my favorite part of it.
01:14:10 --> 01:14:15 [SPEAKER_01]: I think episode nine was probably my favorite episode eight was probably my favorite episode of this season.
01:14:15 --> 01:14:26 [SPEAKER_01]: But it was as I said, you know, I like the gambit rogue storyline and just seeing that, you know, I was waiting all season for him to come back as death.
01:14:26 --> 01:14:35 [SPEAKER_01]: as, you know, and then he wasn't actually a horseman of the apocalypse, but he became a apocalypse himself and again cool character design.
01:14:36 --> 01:14:39 [SPEAKER_01]: And so I enjoyed that twist.
01:14:39 --> 01:14:43 [SPEAKER_01]: They surprised me a little bit there, but just
01:14:43 --> 01:14:49 [SPEAKER_01]: the complications from rogue's perspective of having gambit show back up.
01:14:49 --> 01:15:11 [SPEAKER_01]: There's clearly something wrong with him, but she can also touch him and he wants to be with her and he's alive and just all of the complicated feelings that she must be going through and how understandable it seems to me that you just be like, yeah, let's go with it, you know, and yeah, I think that for me was the emotional peak of the season.
01:15:12 --> 01:15:12 [SPEAKER_01]: What about you?
01:15:14 --> 01:15:23 [SPEAKER_00]: Um, first and foremost, night crawler kicking ass was awesome, like, you, he let loose and
01:15:23 --> 01:15:27 [SPEAKER_00]: there was nary anything they could do to stop him.
01:15:27 --> 01:15:32 [SPEAKER_00]: Wait, when he saw them banting, all over the place and just kicking ass.
01:15:32 --> 01:15:34 [SPEAKER_00]: So that was really nice to see.
01:15:34 --> 01:15:45 [SPEAKER_00]: Because nightcaller is a skill, you know, fighter, and using his pals in the way that they showed them, using his pals to take the X-Men and anybody in proximity was really cool.
01:15:46 --> 01:15:47 [SPEAKER_00]: So that's number one.
01:15:47 --> 01:15:50 [SPEAKER_00]: Number two, I like you really like,
01:15:51 --> 01:15:59 [SPEAKER_00]: the rogue and gambit piece of this, because while it's not gambit, it's really a apocalypse, but for rogue, it is gambit.
01:16:00 --> 01:16:01 [SPEAKER_01]: So isn't there, too?
01:16:02 --> 01:16:08 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, but not in the you can't tell though, you know what I mean?
01:16:09 --> 01:16:12 [SPEAKER_01]: I think when you come to her in the beginning, it is.
01:16:12 --> 01:16:13 [SPEAKER_00]: You think it's gambit?
01:16:13 --> 01:16:14 [SPEAKER_01]: I think it's fun.
01:16:15 --> 01:16:15 [SPEAKER_00]: Interesting.
01:16:17 --> 01:16:18 [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't get, I didn't feel that.
01:16:18 --> 01:16:30 [SPEAKER_01]: I think he was wearing Gambit like a puppet, but I mean, he chose Gambit, I think in part because Robes told him before, she told apocalypse before when they were back in Egypt.
01:16:30 --> 01:16:33 [SPEAKER_01]: She was like, yeah, there was someone who I loved.
01:16:34 --> 01:16:35 [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, fair.
01:16:35 --> 01:16:38 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I found a way to have someone love me.
01:16:40 --> 01:16:42 [SPEAKER_00]: Interesting, I didn't feel that way.
01:16:43 --> 01:16:44 [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, fair enough.
01:16:46 --> 01:17:02 [SPEAKER_00]: And I just, you know, just the her interactions and with gambit, with apocalypse, whatever, was really, I think the highlight of the season, personally, I think this was the highlight of the season.
01:17:03 --> 01:17:06 [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe not my favorite episode of the season, but the highlight of the season.
01:17:07 --> 01:17:07 [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
01:17:08 --> 01:17:16 [SPEAKER_00]: because they really showed these two characters who aren't, you know, Jean and Scott, how much they mean to each other.
01:17:17 --> 01:17:22 [SPEAKER_00]: And you know, and how much they love really endures.
01:17:23 --> 01:17:34 [SPEAKER_00]: And I think there are a lot of characters and Marvel who are in loving relationships but we don't often think about
01:17:38 --> 01:17:38 [SPEAKER_00]: I think now.
01:17:39 --> 01:17:41 [SPEAKER_01]: I do, but that's amazing.
01:17:41 --> 01:17:54 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm the general public, because if you ask them, they'll talk about, you know, read and sue, Scott and Jean, you know, Peter and Mary J. Mary Jane, you know what I mean?
01:17:55 --> 01:17:56 [SPEAKER_00]: Hulk and Betty, you know.
01:17:58 --> 01:18:05 [SPEAKER_00]: before you get to Rogan in Gambit, people might tell you about Thor and Jane Foster, you know what I'm saying?
01:18:06 --> 01:18:12 [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm talking about not just because of the movies, I'm just talking about in general Marvel fandom.
01:18:13 --> 01:18:24 [SPEAKER_00]: So I think it's nice to have these other characters show up in this way because it gives more characters the ability to show up in that way.
01:18:28 --> 01:18:34 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, if I'm doing my rankings of Marvel couples, Rogan Gambit are at or near the top.
01:18:34 --> 01:18:38 [SPEAKER_00]: So, for me, this is like, give me your top four.
01:18:38 --> 01:18:41 [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, no, say five, yes, give me your top four.
01:18:41 --> 01:18:42 [SPEAKER_01]: I have a point.
01:18:42 --> 01:18:46 [SPEAKER_00]: No, I know of the top of the don't give me the top four.
01:18:47 --> 01:18:50 [SPEAKER_01]: Um, I don't got damn, uh, okay.
01:18:50 --> 01:18:51 [SPEAKER_01]: It's one of the infusion obviously.
01:18:51 --> 01:18:51 [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
01:18:51 --> 01:18:52 [SPEAKER_01]: Um, I don't got damn, um, storming to Chalev, we can see it.
01:18:52 --> 01:19:05 [SPEAKER_01]: Uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh uh, uh uh, uh uh, uh uh, uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh
01:19:07 --> 01:19:07 [SPEAKER_00]: Rogan Gambit.
01:19:08 --> 01:19:10 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, so that's that's three.
01:19:10 --> 01:19:11 [SPEAKER_01]: So that's three.
01:19:11 --> 01:19:12 [SPEAKER_01]: Give me one one.
01:19:12 --> 01:19:17 [SPEAKER_01]: No, because then it's like if I only say one more, then I've and then I'm gonna like kick my tongue.
01:19:17 --> 01:19:18 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not gonna lock you in.
01:19:18 --> 01:19:21 [SPEAKER_00]: I will not lock you in to these these choices.
01:19:21 --> 01:19:23 [SPEAKER_00]: Just give me me one more.
01:19:24 --> 01:19:26 [SPEAKER_00]: Um, well, you can think of it.
01:19:26 --> 01:19:27 [SPEAKER_00]: Give me one more.
01:19:28 --> 01:19:35 [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, we're way, way, way, way, uh, no, because now I'm thinking of ones that are not my favorites, but they're just coming to mind.
01:19:35 --> 01:19:37 [SPEAKER_01]: No, that's not what I want.
01:19:37 --> 01:19:39 [SPEAKER_01]: I want my favorites, my favorites.
01:19:40 --> 01:19:41 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, come on, give me one more, one more.
01:19:42 --> 01:19:43 [SPEAKER_01]: Uh, let's see.
01:19:44 --> 01:19:45 [SPEAKER_01]: Can I say?
01:19:45 --> 01:19:46 [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
01:19:47 --> 01:19:48 [SPEAKER_01]: It's not like a
01:19:58 --> 01:20:00 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I would not give you that.
01:20:00 --> 01:20:02 [SPEAKER_01]: I would not give you that.
01:20:02 --> 01:20:04 [SPEAKER_01]: Love can look many different ways.
01:20:04 --> 01:20:05 [SPEAKER_01]: I would not give you that.
01:20:05 --> 01:20:07 [SPEAKER_00]: I would not give you that.
01:20:07 --> 01:20:08 [SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, no.
01:20:09 --> 01:20:18 [SPEAKER_01]: So if anyone who doesn't know that's man thing in Jennifer Kale was one of the witches who appeared in Agatha all along, but they have a close ties in comics.
01:20:19 --> 01:20:21 [SPEAKER_00]: One more, just one more.
01:20:22 --> 01:20:22 [SPEAKER_00]: Just one more.
01:20:23 --> 01:20:24 [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, fine, Dr.
01:20:24 --> 01:20:25 [SPEAKER_01]: Strange and Cleo.
01:20:27 --> 01:20:54 [SPEAKER_01]: I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't even, I don't
01:20:55 --> 01:21:03 [SPEAKER_00]: sink and Wolverine, Lara Kenny, and read and sue.
01:21:04 --> 01:21:05 [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
01:21:06 --> 01:21:07 [SPEAKER_01]: See, you were ready with that.
01:21:07 --> 01:21:09 [SPEAKER_01]: Spider-Man and Black Cats a good one.
01:21:11 --> 01:21:13 [SPEAKER_00]: Uh, does, does it my favor?
01:21:14 --> 01:21:20 [SPEAKER_01]: Alyssa said about this, Alyssa of the Brown Ajay said, let me glad he's back, but now he's forced to be evil.
01:21:20 --> 01:21:21 [SPEAKER_01]: Also Charles
01:21:25 --> 01:21:46 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he needs to, but he's not going to, he's not going to spoil it, he's like, oh, all this fly to another planet and, you know, day to day, day to day to day to day, that's how
01:21:55 --> 01:22:19 [SPEAKER_00]: Uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh uh, uh uh, uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh
01:22:20 --> 01:22:26 [SPEAKER_00]: X-Force and X-Factor attack X-Corp, attempting to get to Gambit's body.
01:22:27 --> 01:22:43 [SPEAKER_00]: Cable shoots Gambit in the head and believes he has achieved his destiny, but this unleashes apocalypse who transforms Gambit's body into a monstrous form and brainwashings all of the X-Men, X-Force and X-Factor.
01:22:44 --> 01:23:01 [SPEAKER_00]: Apocalypse taunts Xavier for relying on his fellow mutants, but Xavier is vindicated when rogue arrives and uses her celestial power to free gambit and others, and then trap Apocalypse's consciousness inside a crystal that she gives to cable.
01:23:02 --> 01:23:15 [SPEAKER_00]: Rogue is surprised when she continues to live after her celestial power subside until Beast arrives and reveals that Nik Horler offered his own life to Esan, so Rogue and Gambit could be together.
01:23:16 --> 01:23:25 [SPEAKER_00]: In a mid-credit scene, Mystique shoots Cooper in assumes her identity while Creed is elected President.
01:23:26 --> 01:23:30 [SPEAKER_01]: It's an, I have a very important, other thing to say.
01:23:30 --> 01:23:36 [SPEAKER_01]: I just, I've, duh, putting at the top of the couple pile.
01:23:40 --> 01:23:41 [SPEAKER_01]: Wicked and hulfling.
01:23:42 --> 01:23:43 [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, that's a good one.
01:23:43 --> 01:23:44 [SPEAKER_00]: That's a good one.
01:23:44 --> 01:23:47 [SPEAKER_01]: That's a good one.
01:23:47 --> 01:23:48 [SPEAKER_00]: That's a good one.
01:23:48 --> 01:23:49 [SPEAKER_00]: That's a good one.
01:23:49 --> 01:23:49 [SPEAKER_00]: That's a good one.
01:23:49 --> 01:23:51 [SPEAKER_00]: That's a good one.
01:23:51 --> 01:23:57 [SPEAKER_00]: In fact, new cage in Jessica would probably move suit and read down a notch.
01:23:58 --> 01:23:59 [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
01:23:59 --> 01:24:00 [SPEAKER_00]: Good call, good call.
01:24:01 --> 01:24:09 [SPEAKER_01]: I have to bump one of mine, um, I mean, obviously, I didn't even mean, like, I don't really care about strange and clear.
01:24:09 --> 01:24:10 [SPEAKER_01]: Like, I told you, strange.
01:24:10 --> 01:24:13 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I did get strange and clear out of here.
01:24:13 --> 01:24:15 [SPEAKER_01]: I have to get rid of one more, too.
01:24:15 --> 01:24:17 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, to make room for both.
01:24:17 --> 01:24:17 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
01:24:17 --> 01:24:18 [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
01:24:18 --> 01:24:18 [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
01:24:18 --> 01:24:19 [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
01:24:19 --> 01:24:20 [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
01:24:20 --> 01:24:20 [SPEAKER_01]: I think about it.
01:24:20 --> 01:24:21 [SPEAKER_01]: I've got a top five.
01:24:21 --> 01:24:22 [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
01:24:22 --> 01:24:22 [SPEAKER_01]: I cool.
01:24:22 --> 01:24:23 [SPEAKER_00]: I cool.
01:24:23 --> 01:24:24 [SPEAKER_00]: It's a good five.
01:24:24 --> 01:24:24 [SPEAKER_00]: It's a good five.
01:24:24 --> 01:24:25 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
01:24:26 --> 01:24:27 [SPEAKER_01]: Um, but yeah.
01:24:27 --> 01:24:30 [SPEAKER_01]: So, I mean, check-offs apocalypse, jewel.
01:24:30 --> 01:24:43 [SPEAKER_01]: Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-
01:24:46 --> 01:24:52 [SPEAKER_01]: I liked Alyssa said cable bringing his parents apocalypse is rotting corpses like when a cat brings you a dead mouse.
01:24:52 --> 01:24:56 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, this means cable has the energy of a feral cat.
01:24:58 --> 01:25:01 [SPEAKER_00]: He does and I don't mean that in the good way.
01:25:02 --> 01:25:02 [SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.
01:25:03 --> 01:25:11 [SPEAKER_00]: But this was, you know, I think to end the season this was
01:25:13 --> 01:25:22 [SPEAKER_00]: really pointed in the fact that you have two characters who are willing to sacrifice themselves for each other.
01:25:24 --> 01:25:31 [SPEAKER_00]: You know, rogue agreeing to make that deal and say, you know, I'll give my life
01:25:41 --> 01:25:53 [SPEAKER_00]: I'll give my life for my friends, you know, not for my lover or my partner, but for the people for my family, for the people that I love.
01:25:55 --> 01:25:58 [SPEAKER_00]: And that I think hit harder for me.
01:25:59 --> 01:25:59 [SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.
01:26:00 --> 01:26:00 [SPEAKER_00]: Because...
01:26:02 --> 01:26:05 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, no Crowley's a better person than all of them.
01:26:05 --> 01:26:06 [SPEAKER_01]: Magneto.
01:26:06 --> 01:26:08 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's one of the best.
01:26:09 --> 01:26:12 [SPEAKER_01]: Alyssa said a small detail.
01:26:12 --> 01:26:23 [SPEAKER_01]: I noticed is that night crawlers wearing a clerical collar under his costume and that is because the continuity is different.
01:26:24 --> 01:26:30 [SPEAKER_01]: She's referring to the comics continuity, but the continuity in the animated series is that he was raised by monks.
01:26:31 --> 01:26:31 [SPEAKER_01]: So I guess
01:26:33 --> 01:26:35 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he just kind of, very religious.
01:26:36 --> 01:26:37 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's very religious.
01:26:37 --> 01:26:41 [SPEAKER_01]: And so he really just became a monk because that's where he was raised and what else was he going to do?
01:26:42 --> 01:26:43 [SPEAKER_01]: He's a weird blue guy.
01:26:43 --> 01:26:44 [SPEAKER_00]: Right.
01:26:45 --> 01:26:49 [SPEAKER_00]: But his sacrifice, his self-sendrifice was,
01:26:50 --> 01:26:52 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was really moving.
01:26:52 --> 01:27:04 [SPEAKER_01]: And that was like one of the the most messed up things that Gampocalyptus did was was converting him to a do serve rogue, you know, yeah.
01:27:05 --> 01:27:05 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
01:27:05 --> 01:27:11 [SPEAKER_01]: Because that's, yeah, and we should explain probably that they are both mistakes children.
01:27:11 --> 01:27:14 [SPEAKER_01]: He is mistakes biological child and she's mistakes adopted child.
01:27:15 --> 01:27:15 [SPEAKER_00]: Right.
01:27:16 --> 01:27:17 [SPEAKER_01]: So they're siblings.
01:27:18 --> 01:27:42 [SPEAKER_00]: It was really, that hit me harder than Magneto, dying, to see, you know, how small Nik roller was in front of us on and just saying, you know, with all the strength
01:27:47 --> 01:27:53 [SPEAKER_00]: that this is what I'll do for my friends, for my family, that that hit me a lot harder than Magnino's death.
01:27:53 --> 01:27:56 [SPEAKER_00]: Because Magnino's death was as pure an act of villainy.
01:27:56 --> 01:27:57 [SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
01:27:58 --> 01:28:04 [SPEAKER_00]: Like just pure murder and he had no saying in that.
01:28:04 --> 01:28:04 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
01:28:06 --> 01:28:16 [SPEAKER_01]: And Nightcrawler also had that episode where he is because they have this other brother who became a non-mutant.
01:28:17 --> 01:28:17 [SPEAKER_00]: Three.
01:28:18 --> 01:28:41 [SPEAKER_01]: create and yeah, night crawler chose to spare him and you know that that was also a highlight Harry Lyme said on the discord episode seven feels a little closer to an overarching theme for the season about who can be redeemed and who can be persuaded out of darkness which I guess will be relevant when you know who shows up as you know what I think future apocalypse killed
01:28:47 --> 01:28:52 [SPEAKER_01]: to create that husk that GEM Palkyles project was born out of.
01:28:52 --> 01:28:52 [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
01:28:52 --> 01:28:53 [SPEAKER_01]: Is that necessary?
01:28:54 --> 01:28:57 [SPEAKER_01]: Or you can, do you just like burst forth as a new form?
01:28:57 --> 01:28:59 [SPEAKER_01]: Like a cocoon?
01:29:00 --> 01:29:02 [SPEAKER_00]: I think like a cocoon maybe.
01:29:02 --> 01:29:03 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's how I read it.
01:29:04 --> 01:29:25 [SPEAKER_01]: But about the episode seven where we see, we see what a deeply good person night crawler is with this, you know, everyone else wanted to kill Creed and by all intents and creed is like, if I were in your position, I would absolutely kill me for the tables were turned, I would do the wrong thing.
01:29:26 --> 01:29:28 [SPEAKER_01]: But that's, you know, night crawlers,
01:29:30 --> 01:29:42 [SPEAKER_01]: He's a lot of people think kind people kindness is weakness and nightclub character who shows that is actually strength, that it takes more strength to be kind, then it does to be cruel.
01:29:43 --> 01:29:49 [SPEAKER_00]: Kurt is the epitome of strength, you know, because he's had to face cruelty,
01:29:51 --> 01:29:58 [SPEAKER_00]: in a way that a lot of other even mutants have not had to face that crew, you know.
01:29:59 --> 01:30:08 [SPEAKER_00]: On the main team, beast is the closest thing, you know, to having to face that scrutiny.
01:30:09 --> 01:30:19 [SPEAKER_00]: But Beast is so vastly different in the way that he is perceived, because Kirk is literally perceived as a demon as a devil.
01:30:20 --> 01:30:21 [SPEAKER_00]: You know, because of the way that he looks.
01:30:23 --> 01:30:37 [SPEAKER_00]: And has to be in religious race to be religious and actually, really believing in God and having that faith to be constantly viewed as
01:30:39 --> 01:30:55 [SPEAKER_00]: evil incarnate has to be so difficult for him, but instead of, you know, given into that, he is the best of them all to me.
01:30:56 --> 01:31:05 [SPEAKER_00]: And that is real strength, like you said, because he could easily be baffing people into the bottom of the ocean.
01:31:07 --> 01:31:08 [SPEAKER_00]: You know what I'm saying?
01:31:08 --> 01:31:10 [SPEAKER_00]: And just leaving them there to die.
01:31:10 --> 01:31:13 [SPEAKER_00]: You can easily be going people in volcanoes.
01:31:14 --> 01:31:14 [SPEAKER_00]: And he's not.
01:31:17 --> 01:31:18 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and he's not.
01:31:19 --> 01:31:24 [SPEAKER_01]: We should say, by the way, why they don't, I don't think they've explained it's at least since the restart.
01:31:24 --> 01:31:28 [SPEAKER_01]: Why Bishop has an M carved into his face?
01:31:29 --> 01:31:32 [SPEAKER_00]: Because he comes from a future where nuptains are marked.
01:31:37 --> 01:31:47 [SPEAKER_00]: Bishop, um, I guess we could say Rachel now, they have just so fucked up.
01:31:48 --> 01:31:52 [SPEAKER_01]: You just know like that's where the story has to go.
01:31:53 --> 01:32:00 [SPEAKER_00]: The, the future for the X man is always so messed up.
01:32:02 --> 01:32:04 [SPEAKER_01]: It's not necessarily hope, punk.
01:32:04 --> 01:32:06 [SPEAKER_01]: Although it is, but not in a way it is.
01:32:07 --> 01:32:15 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, in the way it is in the short term it is, but Lord, I don't think there's a future and
01:32:25 --> 01:32:28 [SPEAKER_00]: And it's not one that I would want to live in.
01:32:28 --> 01:32:28 [SPEAKER_00]: There's none.
01:32:29 --> 01:32:34 [SPEAKER_00]: I can't think of one that I said, that would say, I'm like, oh, yeah, this is like a cool future.
01:32:34 --> 01:32:34 [SPEAKER_00]: I would have won the live there.
01:32:35 --> 01:32:39 [SPEAKER_00]: Not with the X-Men, not with their timelines.
01:32:40 --> 01:32:53 [SPEAKER_01]: But it is often like we saw that last season with Genocia, if everyone also just left them alone, then it could have been a lovely future for everyone involved.
01:32:54 --> 01:33:03 [SPEAKER_01]: But no, someone's always going to be messing their shit up and then like don't poke the super powered bears.
01:33:04 --> 01:33:04 [SPEAKER_00]: Right.
01:33:05 --> 01:33:05 [SPEAKER_00]: Right.
01:33:06 --> 01:33:08 [SPEAKER_01]: It was one of the most.
01:33:09 --> 01:33:14 [SPEAKER_00]: And that'll, I don't, man, there is, it's just messed up.
01:33:14 --> 01:33:17 [SPEAKER_00]: It's just, it's really messed up.
01:33:19 --> 01:33:19 [SPEAKER_01]: Man.
01:33:24 --> 01:33:26 [SPEAKER_00]: And what are you expecting for a season three?
01:33:28 --> 01:33:30 [SPEAKER_00]: And do you want to see the season three?
01:33:30 --> 01:33:32 [SPEAKER_01]: Well, so I was a cool elicid one last time.
01:33:32 --> 01:33:39 [SPEAKER_01]: I wanted more of a bit of an storm this season and follow through and the tears of Nathan was going to become apocalypse as vessel.
01:33:40 --> 01:33:42 [SPEAKER_01]: But other than that, I enjoyed the season she said.
01:33:42 --> 01:33:44 [SPEAKER_01]: But I'll say I kind of see those as predictions for.
01:33:44 --> 01:33:51 [SPEAKER_01]: I feel like because storms always up front and center, they decided to give some other people some time to shine.
01:33:54 --> 01:34:11 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think we're going to see more from obviously that, like as we said, this setting up stories with Polaris and with I like that we have some new faces that are coming to the front more not that like Polaris or, you know,
01:34:13 --> 01:34:20 [SPEAKER_01]: Bishop or anyone is new for comics readers, but I like that it's not just the same characters always for the center all the time.
01:34:21 --> 01:34:21 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
01:34:22 --> 01:34:23 [SPEAKER_00]: I agree.
01:34:23 --> 01:34:24 [SPEAKER_00]: I agree.
01:34:24 --> 01:34:29 [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, I'm looking forward to the deepening of all their stories again.
01:34:29 --> 01:34:35 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm wondering do we think Apocalypse will be back in season three or not until season four?
01:34:35 --> 01:34:40 [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think I don't want him back.
01:34:42 --> 01:34:43 [SPEAKER_00]: and three or four?
01:34:43 --> 01:34:44 [SPEAKER_01]: No, you want more time?
01:34:45 --> 01:34:46 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
01:34:47 --> 01:34:48 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
01:34:49 --> 01:34:55 [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe we can let cable become less of a jackass if he doesn't have the apocalypse thing to do.
01:34:55 --> 01:34:56 [SPEAKER_00]: Go into space.
01:34:56 --> 01:34:57 [SPEAKER_00]: Go into space.
01:34:57 --> 01:34:58 [SPEAKER_01]: Go into space.
01:34:58 --> 01:34:59 [SPEAKER_01]: OK. Yeah.
01:34:59 --> 01:35:00 [SPEAKER_01]: Where's Silver?
01:35:00 --> 01:35:00 [SPEAKER_00]: Silver, sir.
01:35:01 --> 01:35:03 [SPEAKER_00]: Go meet the Shiaar, you know.
01:35:04 --> 01:35:04 [SPEAKER_00]: Go into space.
01:35:05 --> 01:35:06 [SPEAKER_00]: Let's get some space stories.
01:35:07 --> 01:35:17 [SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't mind if there was some teases about them maybe reviving some of the other 90s comics and we have gotten, you know, background of vendors and such in this show.
01:35:17 --> 01:35:27 [SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't mind if they, you know, brought back um, fantastic for and Spiderman and stuff and Dick crossovers.
01:35:29 --> 01:35:29 [SPEAKER_00]: That would be cool.
01:35:30 --> 01:35:31 [SPEAKER_00]: That would be cool.
01:35:32 --> 01:35:34 [SPEAKER_00]: From that era, that would be cool.
01:35:34 --> 01:35:36 [SPEAKER_00]: I would be okay with that.
01:35:38 --> 01:35:52 [SPEAKER_00]: I think there's obviously the onslaught saga will be told at some point and that's going to be a lot of fun because it does incorporate the entire Marvel Universe.
01:35:54 --> 01:35:58 [SPEAKER_00]: Everybody gets involved in that fight, so that will be fun.
01:35:59 --> 01:36:02 [SPEAKER_00]: If they do that then you'll get your wish to see all these other characters.
01:36:07 --> 01:36:08 [SPEAKER_00]: All right.
01:36:08 --> 01:36:08 [SPEAKER_00]: That's it.
01:36:09 --> 01:36:10 [SPEAKER_00]: Wrap it up.
01:36:10 --> 01:36:11 [SPEAKER_00]: What do we have next?
01:36:11 --> 01:36:16 [SPEAKER_00]: So wrap on season in our MCU, um, Alicia.
01:36:16 --> 01:36:17 [SPEAKER_01]: Vision request.
01:36:17 --> 01:36:17 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
01:36:18 --> 01:36:19 [SPEAKER_01]: So I mean, you, you.
01:36:19 --> 01:36:20 [SPEAKER_01]: So before teens.
01:36:21 --> 01:36:21 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
01:36:21 --> 01:36:30 [SPEAKER_01]: So as soon as Lanterns wraps up, and then I think, I think the three of us will do a wrap up for the Lantern season.
01:36:30 --> 01:36:32 [SPEAKER_00]: People are waiting for you, Alicia.
01:36:33 --> 01:36:35 [SPEAKER_00]: They are waiting to hear what you think.
01:36:35 --> 01:36:36 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm enjoying it.
01:36:36 --> 01:36:37 [SPEAKER_01]: It's a good joke.
01:36:37 --> 01:36:42 [SPEAKER_01]: I talk about it on, I talked about it on the silo was it's season finale.
01:36:42 --> 01:36:46 [SPEAKER_01]: Someone put it up in the feedback and yeah, I was I was saying
01:36:48 --> 01:36:54 [SPEAKER_01]: I think you'd like lanterns, vice versa, both have, you know, the sort of sci-fi noir mystery, whatever.
01:36:55 --> 01:36:55 [SPEAKER_01]: Going on.
01:36:56 --> 01:37:09 [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, so I'm looking forward to talking about that with you, but then we're going to do weekly vision quest, wrapping up the trilogy, wand of vision, agatha all along, and now vision quest brings that to a close starting.
01:37:09 --> 01:37:11 [SPEAKER_01]: We haven't gotten the exact really
01:37:19 --> 01:37:20 [SPEAKER_01]: What's great?
01:37:20 --> 01:37:23 [SPEAKER_00]: They're not going to be in drop it, we talked away.
01:37:24 --> 01:37:25 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, girl.
01:37:25 --> 01:37:36 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you're not wrong about that, but it is also like, they bet against Agatha all along because it was like queer character and women witches.
01:37:37 --> 01:37:38 [SPEAKER_01]: And then that surprised them.
01:37:38 --> 01:37:40 [SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, one division was a big one for them.
01:37:41 --> 01:37:41 [SPEAKER_01]: I imagine.
01:37:43 --> 01:37:51 [SPEAKER_01]: It seems like this might be the end of an era, too, because other than Daredevil born again, there's no other live action shows plan.
01:37:51 --> 01:37:52 [SPEAKER_01]: On the scale of loud.
01:37:52 --> 01:37:53 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, there we know of nothing.
01:37:55 --> 01:37:56 [SPEAKER_00]: Which is very surprising to me.
01:37:57 --> 01:37:57 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
01:37:58 --> 01:38:00 [SPEAKER_01]: And I suppose they're going to start the new phase, but yeah.
01:38:01 --> 01:38:10 [SPEAKER_00]: I guess maybe that's what they're waiting for it to be done with doomsday and secret words.
01:38:10 --> 01:38:17 [SPEAKER_01]: It's also just like, you know, here's a secret from someone who went to business school.
01:38:17 --> 01:38:19 [SPEAKER_01]: The economy's made up.
01:38:19 --> 01:38:20 [SPEAKER_01]: It's all made up.
01:38:20 --> 01:38:22 [SPEAKER_01]: And we decide what has value.
01:38:23 --> 01:38:28 [SPEAKER_01]: And for a long time, it was decided that streaming had value.
01:38:28 --> 01:38:31 [SPEAKER_01]: And it's all about which fictitious numbers do we care among the most?
01:38:32 --> 01:38:35 [SPEAKER_01]: And now they've decided, no, actually, it's not streaming.
01:38:35 --> 01:38:38 [SPEAKER_01]: It's back to box office that's the most important.
01:38:39 --> 01:38:41 [SPEAKER_01]: Because, you know, we're past this pandemic era.
01:38:41 --> 01:38:47 [SPEAKER_01]: So I think, yeah, the TV shows, they're like, yeah, it's sort of reactionary thing.
01:38:47 --> 01:38:59 [SPEAKER_01]: Like, no, all of the TV shows gone, and I'm sure at some point they'll come back and be like, oh, you know what's really great is to keep that pipeline going of people who want to subscribe to our service.
01:38:59 --> 01:39:05 [SPEAKER_01]: And be excited about the characters and just make sure that everything's well written and interconnected.
01:39:05 --> 01:39:07 [SPEAKER_01]: And that's the real thing that we want.
01:39:09 --> 01:39:20 [SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, you know, people say they don't want to do homework, but by interconnected, I mean, that there's meaningful, there's, yeah, that you see a character evolve over different things, not just cameo fits.
01:39:22 --> 01:39:23 [SPEAKER_00]: I totally agree.
01:39:24 --> 01:39:25 [SPEAKER_00]: I totally agree.
01:39:25 --> 01:39:30 [SPEAKER_00]: And, you know what, I met the stage of life that I don't mind a little bit about homework.
01:39:32 --> 01:39:36 [SPEAKER_00]: It's okay with me, so, but hopefully, you're right.
01:39:37 --> 01:39:43 [SPEAKER_00]: I think you're right, that will, we will get on back to the live action TV.
01:39:45 --> 01:39:49 [SPEAKER_00]: I know DC, the DCU is not abatming it.
01:39:50 --> 01:39:54 [SPEAKER_01]: The live action part, especially not after lanterns, right?
01:39:54 --> 01:39:56 [SPEAKER_00]: Right, we already know that they're doing
01:39:57 --> 01:40:07 [SPEAKER_00]: You know, Jimi Olson and Gala Gorilla God show which sounds insane to even be unexpected, but I'm here for it.
01:40:08 --> 01:40:16 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm totally here for it, but just the concept alone sounds crazy that they're actually doing it is even crazier.
01:40:16 --> 01:40:20 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's like a true crime sort of spoof for something.
01:40:20 --> 01:40:21 [SPEAKER_01]: I think so.
01:40:23 --> 01:40:25 [SPEAKER_00]: So I think God is on trial.
01:40:25 --> 01:40:26 [SPEAKER_00]: This is wild.
01:40:26 --> 01:40:27 [SPEAKER_00]: That's wild.
01:40:27 --> 01:40:36 [SPEAKER_00]: But that they're giving this seemingly really cookie type of, you know, show, life.
01:40:37 --> 01:40:42 [SPEAKER_00]: That's, I think that's giving me hope.
01:40:42 --> 01:40:44 [SPEAKER_00]: You know, it's giving me hope that
01:40:45 --> 01:40:59 [SPEAKER_00]: we will get stories that are not the typical summer blockbuster or end of the year blockbuster that all studios want to, you know, have that we will get nuanced storytelling.
01:41:00 --> 01:41:05 [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm done in and suffering appear to be unbored with that.
01:41:05 --> 01:41:08 [SPEAKER_00]: So I'm hoping that stays in the case.
01:41:12 --> 01:41:40 [SPEAKER_00]: then we have Clayface October 23rd Oh, you got forgot about that Wow, that's okay Okay, all right, yeah I am, I, you know, I was, I told you over the summer day Uh-huh I don't know, I need a Clayface But now you see the trailers I saw the trailers and I'm like I kind of maybe do want to see this Clayface movie
01:41:42 --> 01:41:55 [SPEAKER_00]: Again, quirky storytelling, a quirky story, it looks to be in line with the time of year, you know how the weane, so I think it'll be something to see.
01:41:55 --> 01:42:07 [SPEAKER_00]: So if they pull this off, I mean, kudos, kudos, if they were able to really breathe life into this character on screen, that will be something amazing.
01:42:12 --> 01:42:22 [SPEAKER_00]: If you want to get at us, hit us on the email, comics versus at theloorhounds.com, c-o-m-i-c-s-v-s.

01:43:27 --> 01:43:32 [SPEAKER_01]: Like my own wool shift dust podcast where we are we're still doing silo coverage.
01:43:32 --> 01:43:50 [SPEAKER_01]: There's still going to be three more public and four if you're a book club subscriber episodes coming your way over the next couple weeks and of course Dungeons and do rags also covering lanterns you were a guest there was it for episode three.
01:43:50 --> 01:43:50 [SPEAKER_01]: I think it was
01:43:51 --> 01:43:51 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
01:43:52 --> 01:43:52 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
01:43:53 --> 01:43:54 [SPEAKER_00]: I don't just do right.
01:43:54 --> 01:43:57 [SPEAKER_00]: It says episode 3.
01:43:57 --> 01:44:02 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm still trying to get, you know, to have a lot of clay out of my head, run.
01:44:05 --> 01:44:08 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he says this, but he's wearing a long, long wig.
01:44:14 --> 01:44:24 [SPEAKER_01]: Um, of course, you've get never mind the music where psychology meets music and John's new cosmic corner, which I've been following along reading the first Missborn book.
01:44:25 --> 01:44:27 [SPEAKER_01]: So they finally got me reading it and I'm into it.
01:44:27 --> 01:44:28 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm into it.
01:44:28 --> 01:44:28 [SPEAKER_01]: Nice.
01:44:28 --> 01:44:29 [SPEAKER_01]: Very nice.
01:44:31 --> 01:44:35 [SPEAKER_00]: Um, if you're enjoying this, sharing helps the most.
01:44:36 --> 01:44:37 [SPEAKER_00]: Send in some nice reviews wherever you

01:45:14 --> 01:45:23 [SPEAKER_01]: So they they released an intro episode for subscribers and also an episode dedicated to seasons one and two of the agency.
01:45:26 --> 01:45:39 [SPEAKER_01]: There will also be shortly after the start of next week, and episode finally we're doing our sideways episode about the movie from 2004, I think it was.
01:45:39 --> 01:45:41 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, with Paul Giamatti.
01:45:41 --> 01:45:41 [SPEAKER_00]: For a long time ago.
01:45:44 --> 01:45:50 [SPEAKER_01]: We're going to do we do in quick catch up on these episodes, making up for that busy summer.
