00:18 --> 00:21 [UNKNOWN]: Welcome to Horror Hounds, a Lord Hound's podcast.
00:22 --> 00:24 [UNKNOWN]: I'm John, up to course number 478.
00:24 --> 00:26 [UNKNOWN]: The Soul!
00:27 --> 00:31 [UNKNOWN]: I'm Alicia here to make my Armen's as we recognize the failures.
00:31 --> 00:39 [UNKNOWN]: Season 1, Episode 7 of the Vampireless Stats on AMC Plus aka, the season finale of Interview of the Vampire Season 3.
00:40 --> 00:48 [UNKNOWN]: If you want to get into contact with a Senate email to ask DanAtthalorehounds.com or head to our Discord server linked in the link for the show notes for real-time conversation.
00:49 --> 00:58 [UNKNOWN]: And if you like what you've heard and want to support us, or get ad-free and bonus content, check out the same link tree for our Patreon and Supercast subscription options.
00:59 --> 01:01 [UNKNOWN]: You can also leave us a review.
01:01 --> 01:08 [UNKNOWN]: That always helps to relieve us a 5 star review on Apple on either our dedicated the Vampire List.feed or our main lorehounds feed.
01:09 --> 01:11 [UNKNOWN]: There are last spoiler warning of the season, huh?
01:12 --> 01:12 [UNKNOWN]: Mm-hmm.
01:13 --> 01:16 [UNKNOWN]: So, what's the spoiler warning?
01:16 --> 01:22 [UNKNOWN]: And then I'll tell you, I'm suggesting an evolution for the inside the conference segment.
01:22 --> 01:23 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, all right.
01:23 --> 01:32 [UNKNOWN]: So our spoiler warning is just anything that's happened in the show so far or any of the and rice universe shows, and then anything that's happened in the book up to this point.
01:32 --> 01:38 [UNKNOWN]: So nothing, future in book spoilers, unless you stick around after the credits and then you'll get to the inside of the conference segment.
01:38 --> 01:39 [UNKNOWN]: So what's the update, Alisha?
01:40 --> 02:05 [UNKNOWN]: okay so inside the coffin remains where we can just talk about anything from the books that hasn't yet happened on screen so full spoilers there although they're obviously they're doing their thing um but we used to have a special devil's minion corner there and there's no point but that's just like in the show now and that's gonna obviously be a major focus of next season so the finale though has my head spinning about
02:05 --> 02:10 [UNKNOWN]: the fourth book, which would be the fifth season, uh, tail of the body thief.
02:10 --> 02:14 [UNKNOWN]: And so now we have the tail of the body thief murder board.
02:17 --> 02:18 [UNKNOWN]: The tail of the body thief murder board.
02:18 --> 02:19 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
02:19 --> 02:19 [UNKNOWN]: All right.
02:19 --> 02:19 [UNKNOWN]: I'm in.
02:20 --> 02:23 [UNKNOWN]: Uh, why don't you explain after the credits.
02:23 --> 02:24 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:25 --> 02:27 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I'm not sure I totally get it, but I'm in anyway.
02:28 --> 02:30 [UNKNOWN]: That's kind of how you have to be with the show.
02:30 --> 02:34 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, this season especially was just very you have to be in it for the bit.
02:35 --> 03:02 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, yeah, and it's I just started rewatching again the interview with the vampire from the beginning and it is it is a very different tone, but it's you know when I watch the I'm watching I mean the middle of the first season of interview the vampire now and it's like this is such an exquisite beautiful presentation of this history and then you get to list out season and it's like
03:03 --> 03:22 [UNKNOWN]: But that's, honestly, I don't say this enough, I don't think, but actually, as much as I talk about my lover among the complex Gremlin character that he is, I identify with list at the most, I think his brain works most like mine in many ways.
03:23 --> 03:25 [UNKNOWN]: And so, for me,
03:26 --> 03:34 [UNKNOWN]: this season really felt personal in some ways and just the way the information was conveyed and also it builds on
03:35 --> 03:47 [UNKNOWN]: You know like the first season was so buttoned up and you know about two people falling in love without really being able to talk to each other about their real truths and how that got in the way of everything.
03:48 --> 03:56 [UNKNOWN]: And this season was about ripping off that band aid and looking at the ugly scarring and picking at the scabs and I looked at
03:58 --> 04:18 [UNKNOWN]: Have you ever seen those TikToks or YouTube shorts where people are like, this is Louie, DuPont DuLock, describing McDonald's, and it's like, the sesame seeds scattered on the bun, like my kind, scattered in the world, like just everything has to be dramatic with them.
04:19 --> 04:23 [UNKNOWN]: And I think you're right, it's just, you're in it for a different bit.
04:24 --> 04:38 [UNKNOWN]: I saw one that was like, Louis narrating and it was Carmen the Frog looking out to the window, pensively into the rain and then it was like, let's stop narrating and it was Miss Piggy with like, attitude face.
04:38 --> 04:39 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, now perfect.
04:40 --> 04:40 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
04:44 --> 04:51 [UNKNOWN]: So you pulled some feedback from our discord, I saw a little bit of a change there, but I pulled myself out of it, so I could enjoy it fresh here.
04:52 --> 04:52 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
04:53 --> 04:56 [UNKNOWN]: Um, no, yeah, so it is a bit more of a sensitive topic.
04:56 --> 05:06 [UNKNOWN]: So just we're going to talk about some of the racism debate that has taken place around, particularly, this final episode, particularly around the portrayal of Louis.
05:06 --> 05:10 [UNKNOWN]: And this is something I wasn't sure how or if we should
05:11 --> 05:12 [UNKNOWN]: address it.
05:13 --> 05:28 [UNKNOWN]: But we did, yeah, Kiko Benny on our Discord spoke up about it, and you know, and I asked her to elaborate and she kindly did, and I pulled a section of that that really, I think encapsulates, I'll be honest, also my feelings about the situation.
05:29 --> 05:35 [UNKNOWN]: I obviously have less of an authority to speak on this because I'm barely half a shade darker than my Welsh side of the family, you know.
05:35 --> 05:36 [UNKNOWN]: But, um,
05:38 --> 05:46 [UNKNOWN]: Just the discourse around the portrayal of Louis and the brutalization of Louis reminds me a lot of a debate.
05:46 --> 05:53 [UNKNOWN]: I'm going to skirt spoilers for Wheel of Time Season 3, but there is a character, you know who I'm talking about John, right?
05:54 --> 05:54 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
05:55 --> 05:59 [UNKNOWN]: who is a woman of color and so people are like oh you're brutalizing this character of color.
06:00 --> 06:14 [UNKNOWN]: My personal feelings about this is that I want to see more portrayals of women of people of colors from different you know diverse cast of people and that means that they're also going to play
06:15 --> 06:17 [UNKNOWN]: victims and villains and everything in between.
06:17 --> 06:22 [UNKNOWN]: And this is a show where I think every single character is brutalized.
06:23 --> 06:31 [UNKNOWN]: And you know, I think there are a lot of people who are dismissing that this is a scene that especially focused on list-stop being repeatedly brutalized.
06:31 --> 06:33 [UNKNOWN]: It's not targeted.
06:34 --> 06:49 [UNKNOWN]: it's just talking about the pains we all feel and sometimes since Louie is a man of color who grew up in the 1910s, New Orleans in particular, you know, this that has been a focus of especially past seasons, but still now.
06:51 --> 06:57 [UNKNOWN]: So, okay, I'm going to stop fumbling for the words to express my opinion, and I think Kiko Benny would put it very well.
06:57 --> 07:12 [UNKNOWN]: This is just an excerpt again, so you can find the full discussion in our discord chat for this episode, but she said, the black protagonist in media has been cultivated into certain familiar roles, trusted BFF, the Mami, the victim, slash slave.
07:12 --> 07:16 [UNKNOWN]: And if they are cast as the villain, it's with the utmost sympathetic nature.
07:16 --> 07:25 [UNKNOWN]: Personally, I consider this a trap, but others may see this as preferred as it maintains a certain level of what culturally many feel, victimized.
07:26 --> 07:36 [UNKNOWN]: Go back decades of media and almost every POC typically fits these roles with limited nuance of the majority of the leads and other protagonists are Caucasian.
07:37 --> 07:39 [UNKNOWN]: Louis breaks that mold significantly.
07:39 --> 07:40 [UNKNOWN]: He's selfish.
07:40 --> 07:44 [UNKNOWN]: He's black, but he also has privilege over others, particularly in his demographic.
07:45 --> 07:52 [UNKNOWN]: He's the main harbinger of Claudia's misery and unlike the considered white antagonist, quote, unquote, let's stop.
07:52 --> 07:57 [UNKNOWN]: He didn't lie to her even in the end about his culpability in the matter.
07:57 --> 08:15 [UNKNOWN]: A generalization, but culturally, many black women have felt black men have failed them, so it lines up more akin to reality than fiction, the titillating idea that the black women could and did outsmart the quote white devils, but felt most betrayed by the black man in his life is interesting stuff, but I digress a bit.
08:16 --> 08:19 [UNKNOWN]: that it's, uh, that's its own thesis.
08:20 --> 08:34 [UNKNOWN]: Despite Claudia Duragatory, Claudia's Duragatory idea of him because he's Creole, he's in the top 209 richest people in the world, even in Vampiric Society, he is an enigma of fear but authority.
08:35 --> 08:39 [UNKNOWN]: He remains the utmost item of desire by almost every other protagonist.
08:39 --> 08:56 [UNKNOWN]: He completely goes against what audiences are used to, thus it's being rejected due to the quote-unquote negative attributes, and thus there is, in fact, a whole bit of rhetoric fan base wanting to report this show to the NAACP because of how much he breaks the mold.
08:57 --> 09:06 [UNKNOWN]: I love that this show embraces racial dynamics not typically seen on screen and introduces nuance as it shouldn't need to hold your hand to comprehend.
09:07 --> 09:09 [UNKNOWN]: I have more empathy for the perception of cultivation.
09:10 --> 09:11 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
09:11 --> 09:12 [UNKNOWN]: Then I continue tonight.
09:13 --> 09:14 [UNKNOWN]: Miss the rest.
09:15 --> 09:15 [UNKNOWN]: That's all right.
09:15 --> 09:18 [UNKNOWN]: No, I think this is an amazing perspective.
09:19 --> 09:26 [UNKNOWN]: Totally agree that the nuance is really what makes this character and what makes this approach to race in the show so refreshing.
09:27 --> 09:32 [UNKNOWN]: And you know, like, what do they keep going about any?
09:32 --> 09:33 [UNKNOWN]: Keep going about any insane.
09:34 --> 09:47 [UNKNOWN]: You know, the whole point of increasing diversity and these shows is not to have people be treated better or worse than, you know, the white actors that have traditionally been in here.
09:47 --> 09:50 [UNKNOWN]: It's to show them as full people as they are, right?
09:50 --> 10:01 [UNKNOWN]: Like we have to, we have to treat people, all people, no matter what they look like, or where they come from, as full people who have flaws and have brilliance and have,
10:02 --> 10:12 [UNKNOWN]: stupid decisions and great decisions, right, like these characters need to be allowed to make mistakes and have flaws without it being a trope.
10:12 --> 10:13 [UNKNOWN]: And I think that that's great.
10:13 --> 10:18 [UNKNOWN]: That Louis is this admittedly selfish person.
10:19 --> 10:31 [UNKNOWN]: who also is this brilliant storyteller who has a ton of insight into the emotions of other people and is filled with this incredible empathy that he shows our mind.
10:32 --> 10:38 [UNKNOWN]: Those are the kinds of really full, fully formed traits that make a character great.
10:40 --> 10:51 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, yeah, I think I was just thinking, I think in general, I like shows that are like, we are all monsters now, let's have a group hug and kind of what this show is at the heart.
10:52 --> 11:04 [UNKNOWN]: And it's part of his specific brands of hurts is growing up with racism and his complicated place in that being indeed a money-ed Creole man.
11:06 --> 11:25 [UNKNOWN]: But it's also, everyone has, each of the characters has these different Darknesses in their past, you know, these different struggles that they've had to face and the fact that they lean into them to make them such specific characters is what I makes me really love this story.
11:25 --> 11:28 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, now Thank you so much for the feedback.
11:28 --> 11:30 [UNKNOWN]: This was a great way to start it.
11:30 --> 11:30 [UNKNOWN]: I think
11:32 --> 11:45 [UNKNOWN]: yeah yeah so so where did you think of the episode oh you're you're going to me you know I was gonna go to you after you well before my severed head runs out of blood
11:46 --> 11:49 [UNKNOWN]: I thought it was absolutely fantastic.
11:49 --> 11:58 [UNKNOWN]: I watched this twice and the second time, it was even more meaningful because they knew where it was going and I was able to like, ground myself because that's the thing.
11:58 --> 12:00 [UNKNOWN]: Well, these episodes is they are jumpy.
12:01 --> 12:02 [UNKNOWN]: And that's an intentional choice.
12:02 --> 12:03 [UNKNOWN]: And I'd like that choice.
12:04 --> 12:06 [UNKNOWN]: It's just sometimes on first watch.
12:06 --> 12:09 [UNKNOWN]: It doesn't hit as hard as the second watch because I'm trying to follow it.
12:09 --> 12:13 [UNKNOWN]: More than I'm trying to dive into what it's making me feel.
12:14 --> 12:23 [UNKNOWN]: And here, I, I just think that it was such an incredible way to show these two journeys of Louie and our, and let's stop.
12:23 --> 12:26 [UNKNOWN]: All right, or you can say the three journeys of Louie, let's stop in our mind.
12:27 --> 12:34 [UNKNOWN]: You know, the, the table was an incredible setting to, you know, have the long table.
12:34 --> 12:34 [UNKNOWN]: I love that.
12:34 --> 12:36 [UNKNOWN]: I love that we got the answer to that.
12:36 --> 12:39 [UNKNOWN]: It was these many times this season, right?
12:39 --> 12:42 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, remember in episode three, we're like, what does he mean?
12:42 --> 12:43 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
12:43 --> 12:43 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
12:44 --> 12:44 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
12:44 --> 12:44 [UNKNOWN]: No.
12:44 --> 12:46 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, apparently there's an actual long table somewhere.
12:48 --> 13:07 [UNKNOWN]: And, you know, and having Louis acknowledged Armand and, you know, the amount of empathy it takes to see the humanity or a vampirously, whatever, the person behind your abuser, the person behind the guy who has you on a spike and is trying to hurt somebody you love.
13:09 --> 13:11 [UNKNOWN]: The empathy was the weapon there, right?
13:11 --> 13:14 [UNKNOWN]: The empathy was the power and how he got himself and Regina Frey.
13:15 --> 13:32 [UNKNOWN]: I just thought that these journeys that they took us on emotionally tied up the season so well and you know, I don't want to get too deep into season as a whole thought to his word and do that wrap up with Mark, but just this season left me wanting more in the best way.
13:32 --> 13:41 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, usually I get to the end of a season, even a season I liked, and I'm like, okay, I think we've done the whole gambit now, and I'm done talking about it.
13:41 --> 13:44 [UNKNOWN]: But this one, I could, I could watch another three episodes of the season.
13:44 --> 13:47 [UNKNOWN]: This was, this was incredible, incredible ride.
13:48 --> 13:58 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I mean, and we should say, as we're recording this, the Friday we're recording this, there's going to be a Comic Con.
13:59 --> 14:03 [UNKNOWN]: Actually, the panel, it's going to be in hauling, it's the big haul, so yay.
14:04 --> 14:07 [UNKNOWN]: It's going to take place right before we record our season wrap-up.
14:07 --> 14:12 [UNKNOWN]: So we'll be able to talk about what happens more there, but we're expecting at least a season four.
14:13 --> 14:16 [UNKNOWN]: Renewal announced because, you know, we keep hearing the numbers are good.
14:18 --> 14:26 [UNKNOWN]: And maybe a double season and maybe some word on a spin-off or two, there's one in particular that I'm going to.
14:26 --> 14:29 [UNKNOWN]: I feel like they were setting up in several ways.
14:29 --> 14:31 [UNKNOWN]: This season slash this episode, I'll bring up as we go.
14:34 --> 14:39 [UNKNOWN]: But they do really got to get their leeks situation under control.
14:42 --> 15:02 [UNKNOWN]: The, for anyone who doesn't know, the finale was accidentally released on Apple in the US like two days before it was supposed to come out or three days maybe even and so That was unfortunate because only some people got to see it and then their commentary about the episode
15:03 --> 15:11 [UNKNOWN]: was shaping with a lot of other people said about it because people, they were not shy about spoilers, like immediately spoilers on the screen.
15:11 --> 15:16 [UNKNOWN]: So yeah, that was an unfortunate situation, but I really liked it.
15:17 --> 15:26 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, we've got surreal existential reckoning, we went full Frankenstein, like that is totally a cup of tea.
15:27 --> 15:30 [UNKNOWN]: Um, yeah, you've done a whole deep dive into Frankenstein of people.
15:30 --> 15:32 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, that's true.
15:32 --> 15:32 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
15:32 --> 15:32 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
15:33 --> 15:35 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, I like I like monster stories.
15:35 --> 15:37 [UNKNOWN]: I like the we're all monster stories.
15:37 --> 15:41 [UNKNOWN]: Um, and and now not front, you know, peak Armand antics.
15:41 --> 15:43 [UNKNOWN]: This was a great episode for Armand.
15:44 --> 15:50 [UNKNOWN]: Uh, he was like arranging you with his violent pettiness one moment and then breaking your heart the next and then.
15:51 --> 16:10 [UNKNOWN]: surprising you with unexpected grace and it's just you know I think it's we're finally getting to see the Armand that I know that he just he just wants to be seen he just wants to be someone's first choice and he wants to be cared for accordingly and he doesn't handle his trauma well.
16:11 --> 16:13 [UNKNOWN]: But the trauma is quite honestly earned.
16:13 --> 16:18 [UNKNOWN]: So I had to quote, thank you to Alyssa for sharing this on our discord.
16:19 --> 16:21 [UNKNOWN]: But it's a post from the sheet.
16:22 --> 16:23 [UNKNOWN]: What is it?
16:23 --> 16:24 [UNKNOWN]: The ashes of the first star?
16:26 --> 16:30 [UNKNOWN]: and about why Armand is such a brilliant character.
16:30 --> 16:41 [UNKNOWN]: So the ashes of the First Arsets, my favorite thing about Armand is that beyond being scary and intimidating in an ancient vampire way, he's also weird and off-putting in a way that feels both hilarious and endearing.
16:42 --> 16:45 [UNKNOWN]: He does things that no other vampire and existence would ever consider.
16:46 --> 16:50 [UNKNOWN]: Goes through divorce and proceeds to join AA because of his love for steps in rituals,
16:54 --> 17:03 [UNKNOWN]: Dress his up as Louie's employee, so he can wait hand in foot on the man he's been secretly in love with for 50-plus years, that's innovative in its insanity.
17:04 --> 17:10 [UNKNOWN]: He's mimicking human behavior in ways that never before have been conceived and doing a piss-port job at it.
17:11 --> 17:14 [UNKNOWN]: It's awkward and charming, and ironically, the most human thing about him.
17:18 --> 17:20 [UNKNOWN]: So how do you feel about him on, after this episode?
17:21 --> 17:26 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, I think he's still murder Grumlin and I don't love him, but you know, he's
17:28 --> 17:33 [UNKNOWN]: I can have sympathy for him while still thinking he's awful.
17:34 --> 17:34 [UNKNOWN]: Sure.
17:34 --> 17:34 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
17:35 --> 17:36 [UNKNOWN]: And I think that's where I'm at.
17:36 --> 17:37 [UNKNOWN]: Like I am.
17:37 --> 17:41 [UNKNOWN]: You know, you know, I've heard people I saw this Reddit thread once.
17:41 --> 17:43 [UNKNOWN]: This is kind of a tangent, but it relates.
17:43 --> 17:49 [UNKNOWN]: I saw Reddit thread once that said parents of children who did awful things.
17:49 --> 17:51 [UNKNOWN]: Like murder when they grew up.
17:52 --> 17:53 [UNKNOWN]: how do you feel about them?
17:53 --> 18:03 [UNKNOWN]: And somebody wrote for me it's that I love and mourn the person they were as a child, but not who they are now.
18:04 --> 18:07 [UNKNOWN]: And I feel like that's what you could apply to our mind.
18:08 --> 18:22 [UNKNOWN]: is you can feel terrible for the child he was but you never got to have her who he is now okay yeah i mean he never got to have a childhood and we should point out he was born in like 15 oh eight or something like that i want to say so you know 1500s
18:24 --> 18:39 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, well, we'll break down his psyche a bit more, but I do, I can't help, but have empathy on the one hand and also just be horrified in the most amused way possible on the other because
18:40 --> 18:56 [UNKNOWN]: I think at the end of the day, like of course like the poor random people who get in his way RIP, sorry about that, but this is a vampire show, and that's true for all of them, but I think when it comes to people like Louis, he was never gonna let Louis die.
18:56 --> 18:58 [UNKNOWN]: No, no, he was not gonna let.
18:58 --> 19:00 [UNKNOWN]: That's why he was like, wait, your vitals are dropping.
19:01 --> 19:02 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
19:04 --> 19:14 [UNKNOWN]: Also the others who the two things that really stood stood out to me this episode was that whole you were 12 exchange will get to that But the other was the that Paul cameo.
19:14 --> 19:21 [UNKNOWN]: I I was just saying previously they keep mentioning him and I wondered if we would learn more But I did not expect him to show up and that was so lovely
19:22 --> 19:23 [UNKNOWN]: I have questions about that.
19:24 --> 19:27 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, let let me just ask you now because it's on my mind.
19:27 --> 19:27 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
19:27 --> 19:29 [UNKNOWN]: This means that let's not did kill Paul.
19:30 --> 19:31 [UNKNOWN]: No, no, no.
19:31 --> 19:33 [UNKNOWN]: No, no, no, it's confirmed.
19:34 --> 19:34 [UNKNOWN]: Definitely not.
19:34 --> 19:39 [UNKNOWN]: So we'll talk about the after segment now because we're not in screener territory.
19:39 --> 19:40 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, no, no, no.
19:41 --> 20:03 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, no, it's not maybe they also talked about, yeah, but no, but it's been talked about multiple times that just because I've wondered in the past, in general, if Listock Hill Paul and it was like hardcore confirmed, not so by, by, you know, creators on the show behind the scene, but also like Anne Rice was very adamant, Listock did not kill Paul in the book.
20:04 --> 20:15 [UNKNOWN]: And so what, let's not actually said there was, you were all here tonight because I murdered you, made you, or memorably, or memorably traumatized you.
20:15 --> 20:17 [UNKNOWN]: So he would fall into the letter category.
20:17 --> 20:17 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
20:18 --> 20:18 [UNKNOWN]: All right.
20:18 --> 20:19 [UNKNOWN]: Fair enough.
20:20 --> 20:23 [UNKNOWN]: But I have other questions about that.
20:24 --> 20:25 [UNKNOWN]: We'll talk about him when we get to it.
20:25 --> 20:28 [UNKNOWN]: Like I wonder if he's actually a fourth category.
20:28 --> 20:29 [UNKNOWN]: Hmm.
20:31 --> 20:31 [UNKNOWN]: Interesting.
20:33 --> 20:35 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, save it for after the credits, I guess.
20:35 --> 20:38 [UNKNOWN]: No, no, no, no, when we get to the scene, I think I can talk about it.
20:38 --> 20:39 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, I got a big spoiler.
20:39 --> 20:39 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
20:39 --> 20:57 [UNKNOWN]: No, yeah, well, I think some of the, like, there's a lot of things I wonder, we know there's going to be a spin off of, they're going to do the Mamnault of the devil book, which is the book number five, and that is the like heaven and hell book.
20:58 --> 20:59 [UNKNOWN]: Uh, we know they're going to do it as a spin-off.
20:59 --> 21:07 [UNKNOWN]: So I have the feeling that several things in this episode were setting that up, and that's one of the things that I question whether it's setting it that up.
21:08 --> 21:09 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
21:10 --> 21:10 [UNKNOWN]: All right.
21:10 --> 21:13 [UNKNOWN]: I'm in Paul can be the spirit guide to heaven.
21:14 --> 21:14 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
21:14 --> 21:15 [UNKNOWN]: Well, yeah.
21:15 --> 21:17 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, Mem Knock was, but yeah, he could be like an angel.
21:18 --> 21:18 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
21:19 --> 21:21 [UNKNOWN]: Maybe he was a little judgy.
21:21 --> 21:23 [UNKNOWN]: He was a little judgy, aren't?
21:23 --> 21:25 [UNKNOWN]: I feel like angels in fiction often are a little judgy.
21:25 --> 21:26 [UNKNOWN]: That's true.
21:26 --> 21:27 [UNKNOWN]: That's true.
21:28 --> 21:31 [UNKNOWN]: He needs more heads to be an angel, so typically accurate.
21:31 --> 21:32 [UNKNOWN]: Sure, sure.
21:32 --> 21:40 [UNKNOWN]: If they do, if they do go to like, you know, a biblical to style heaven, I want to see a biblical accurate angel.
21:40 --> 21:45 [UNKNOWN]: I don't think so, but you know, we did you watch his dark materials?
21:47 --> 21:49 [UNKNOWN]: I watch the first two seasons and I've read all the books.
21:50 --> 21:52 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, yeah, yeah, so you know, they do the biblical accurate.
21:53 --> 21:53 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, yeah.
21:54 --> 21:55 [UNKNOWN]: It's a good time.
21:55 --> 21:57 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, speaking of
21:57 --> 21:58 [UNKNOWN]: Confusing forms.
21:59 --> 22:09 [UNKNOWN]: Well, I have questions about what is up with Alex that were not like I just think this season could never have stood on it to own and I don't think they ever truly believed it would.
22:09 --> 22:16 [UNKNOWN]: I feel like this home numbers game was about like how much budget can we get can we, you know, We want to destroy the world next season.
22:17 --> 22:21 [UNKNOWN]: Give us some budget and proving that they had the audience to warrant that.
22:23 --> 22:25 [UNKNOWN]: But I just wonder things like what's up with Alex.
22:28 --> 22:29 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, it's a great question.
22:29 --> 22:30 [UNKNOWN]: What is up with Alex?
22:31 --> 22:33 [UNKNOWN]: Where in the world is Alex his mind?
22:34 --> 22:34 [UNKNOWN]: Mm-hmm.
22:34 --> 22:36 [UNKNOWN]: And his voice, especially.
22:36 --> 22:36 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
22:36 --> 22:38 [UNKNOWN]: In the other words, since he's been turned, right?
22:38 --> 22:44 [UNKNOWN]: He said, uh, and when Raglin said something about the concert, he was like, I want to play the concert, but that's the only thing we've heard.
22:44 --> 22:45 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, yes.
22:45 --> 22:46 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
22:46 --> 22:46 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
22:47 --> 22:47 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
22:47 --> 22:48 [UNKNOWN]: He's getting pretty spooky.
22:48 --> 22:49 [UNKNOWN]: I don't like that mask.
22:50 --> 22:54 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, they fact he's still wearing it after Halloween and it's like telling us something.
22:54 --> 22:56 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, there's something going on there.
22:57 --> 22:57 [UNKNOWN]: Mm-hmm.
22:57 --> 22:58 [UNKNOWN]: Who knows?
22:58 --> 23:05 [UNKNOWN]: I think, you know, I wish season five were coming sooner or season four rather, sorry, coming sooner because I need to know where all this is going.
23:05 --> 23:11 [UNKNOWN]: And I feel I feel not cheated because it was a really satisfying ending, but like, man, do I want more?
23:12 --> 23:15 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, but I think people are worried it's going to be the go.
23:15 --> 23:34 [UNKNOWN]: It's going to be two more years, but I think in this case not only do we not have the strikes and stuff to worry about at the moment, but they also, I think they kind of were writing the next season at the same time as this one because the two books go hand in hand.
23:36 --> 23:56 [UNKNOWN]: you can't really separate them, which is why I just can't believe there's any possibility they would have ended at the end of the season, but there's also like Rolling Jones has made a lot of commentary and it just sounds very much like there's songs written for next season already that you know they're going to be exploring more of La Stout's backstory.
23:57 --> 23:58 [UNKNOWN]: Obviously we know
24:04 --> 24:07 [UNKNOWN]: maybe the scripts aren't finalized, but they know what's going down.
24:07 --> 24:10 [UNKNOWN]: They know what the episodes are.
24:11 --> 24:12 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, that's fair.
24:13 --> 24:13 [UNKNOWN]: I accept you're ruling.
24:15 --> 24:16 [UNKNOWN]: It's just the vibes.
24:16 --> 24:17 [UNKNOWN]: We'll see what they say.
24:17 --> 24:18 [UNKNOWN]: Uh, it's coming.
24:18 --> 24:19 [UNKNOWN]: Come on.
24:19 --> 24:19 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
24:21 --> 24:24 [UNKNOWN]: I look forward to it, but for now, we've got a lot of episodes together.
24:24 --> 24:26 [UNKNOWN]: So let's take a break and get right into it.
24:47 --> 24:49 [UNKNOWN]: course five hundred and twenty nine.
24:50 --> 24:51 [UNKNOWN]: The soul.
24:54 --> 24:54 [UNKNOWN]: We're ready.
24:54 --> 24:56 [UNKNOWN]: So let's alternate paragraphs here.
24:56 --> 24:59 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, you do it because I'm going to.
24:59 --> 24:59 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
24:59 --> 25:01 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, because you have a lot to say.
25:01 --> 25:02 [UNKNOWN]: All right.
25:02 --> 25:02 [UNKNOWN]: That's fair.
25:03 --> 25:04 [UNKNOWN]: buckle up everybody.
25:06 --> 25:07 [UNKNOWN]: I have thoughts now.
25:07 --> 25:14 [UNKNOWN]: The recently behedded Lestat goes into a dream where he follows servants through the forest to a dinner table with his family.
25:15 --> 25:21 [UNKNOWN]: The diners morph into Lestat's accusers, Magnus's chair, Antoinette as corporate porter, and Louis T.C.
25:21 --> 25:23 [UNKNOWN]: Gabriella and Nicky as witnesses.
25:24 --> 25:28 [UNKNOWN]: He learns that he's dying and listens to their accusations, though he insists
25:29 --> 25:30 [UNKNOWN]: Gabriela said as chair.
25:32 --> 25:36 [UNKNOWN]: More guests arrive, such as the tenor that Lestat mocked and drained with Louis.
25:37 --> 25:45 [UNKNOWN]: The tenor mocks Lestat in the same way, Lestat is forced to witness the witch's being burned again from his childhood, and turns the accusations on Gabriela.
25:45 --> 25:50 [UNKNOWN]: She defends her decisions to take him to the burning, saying she was trying to send him away from her.
25:52 --> 25:54 [UNKNOWN]: Lestott is horrified and begins a death well.
25:55 --> 25:56 [UNKNOWN]: Magnus, then arrived.
25:56 --> 25:57 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, sorry, not Magnus.
25:58 --> 26:06 [UNKNOWN]: Marius arrives to judge Lestott for his failures with Akasha and his own fledges.
26:06 --> 26:12 [UNKNOWN]: The table taunts him with his various failures until Lestott decides to fight back and we'll get to that part later.
26:13 --> 26:32 [UNKNOWN]: So one of the things, you know, that I think, you know, they're starting to lean into this memoir, not the devil thing, and Roland Jones did say in, and I've heard so many interviews, I'm sorry, I'm definitely never going to remember which exact one a quote came from, but he did say something about this season, about wanting to, um,
26:33 --> 26:44 [UNKNOWN]: to set up more metaphysical planes, which I assume means, you know, may not the devil's literally about like touring heaven and hell.
26:44 --> 26:49 [UNKNOWN]: So we hear Magnus calls this the astral plane.
26:49 --> 27:03 [UNKNOWN]: which, to quote Wikipedia, is the world of the celestial spheres crossed by the soul and its astral body on the way to being born or after death, and it's generally believed to be populated by angels, spirits, or other immaterial beings.
27:04 --> 27:04 [UNKNOWN]: OK.
27:05 --> 27:05 [UNKNOWN]: Thoughts.
27:07 --> 27:08 [UNKNOWN]: I think it's cool.
27:08 --> 27:12 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, you were telling me that there's a lot of mystical stuff going on in the later book.
27:12 --> 27:16 [UNKNOWN]: So I'm excited that we're bringing that forward because that feels like something that's been missing.
27:17 --> 27:39 [UNKNOWN]: uh... yeah very cool way to break us into that yeah uh... i mean this is really from like the mid books uh... but i think they might even be bringing some later stuff into which i think that is good because it's this long series that i was saying before you know she kept adding new layers of lore just because it felt like you know she wanted new things to explore
27:40 --> 27:51 [UNKNOWN]: but if the truth of the world is the truth revealed by the final novel, then that's been true all along, and that should be incorporated into the ongoing story, right?
27:51 --> 27:52 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I think so.
27:52 --> 27:54 [UNKNOWN]: And Rice has done throwing darts at the board.
27:55 --> 27:56 [UNKNOWN]: Let's see where they landed.
28:00 --> 28:00 [UNKNOWN]: No, really.
28:00 --> 28:04 [UNKNOWN]: I think it's good to have that cohesive work together, right?
28:04 --> 28:05 [UNKNOWN]: It's almost...
28:05 --> 28:10 [UNKNOWN]: I think of Christopher Tolkien putting together the Silmerian after his father's death.
28:11 --> 28:17 [UNKNOWN]: There were all these inconsistencies that Tolkien himself couldn't reconcile.
28:17 --> 28:20 [UNKNOWN]: Much like it seems like Anne Rice was a little over the place at parts of the box.
28:22 --> 28:31 [UNKNOWN]: And Tolkien's song, Tolkien has his son, put together the silver alien after he's dead, and he is like, okay, we're gonna make some choices to create some consistent rules here.
28:31 --> 28:33 [UNKNOWN]: That's kind of what they're doing with the show here, right?
28:33 --> 28:40 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, yeah, I mean, I guess in her case, it was more is just like adding extra layers, which she's like, okay, I've explored that.
28:40 --> 28:41 [UNKNOWN]: Now let's explore ghosts.
28:41 --> 28:42 [UNKNOWN]: Now let's explore religion.
28:42 --> 28:45 [UNKNOWN]: Now let's explore more sci-fi angles.
28:47 --> 29:07 [UNKNOWN]: So yeah, I just wonder, I think it's, something the show can do is bring the more mystical and the more science fiction elements together so that, yeah, so that they feel like they are parts of the same world, like different reflections of the same phenomenon.
29:07 --> 29:08 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
29:09 --> 29:13 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I mean, I love this, I love this ancestral play and stuff.
29:13 --> 29:16 [UNKNOWN]: I think that that was a really cool way to tie together this season.
29:16 --> 29:19 [UNKNOWN]: And I like that we were still doing stuff in the real world, so it didn't feel like we were stuck.
29:19 --> 29:22 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I haven't watched this week's House of the Dragon yet, but I heard that it was a last supper sort of set up.
29:22 --> 29:30 [UNKNOWN]: I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm
29:30 --> 29:54 [UNKNOWN]: it's the dinner time episode it's the dinner time week but I did I loved that sequence of listot first of all he's dreams of walking in daylight which we see him at the end of the episode when he sees the ruined city he's standing outside in daylight but here this is just in his his dreams and apparently he's been like having these dreams over and over since since he finishes
29:59 --> 30:09 [UNKNOWN]: When someone has a dream over and over in a story, I always wonder if it's some sort of like communication or premonition or, you know, drag and dream basically.
30:09 --> 30:10 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
30:11 --> 30:22 [UNKNOWN]: But it's interesting that like this whole transcribing bird song in the forest is particularly since they brought Paul, Louie's brother back this episode, and Paul would always say,
30:30 --> 30:39 [UNKNOWN]: Is are we supposed to understand that he has schizophrenia, or are we supposed to understand that he really is hearing some sort of angelic voices or something at the sort?
30:40 --> 30:45 [UNKNOWN]: And so now the question is, is listot also hearing those same things?
30:45 --> 30:47 [UNKNOWN]: That's a great question.
30:47 --> 30:48 [UNKNOWN]: I didn't even think of that.
30:48 --> 30:50 [UNKNOWN]: So, fantastic work, first of all.
30:51 --> 30:55 [UNKNOWN]: No, and yeah, Paul being here is fantastic.
30:59 --> 31:12 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I just it was just really rife with symbolism like this whole did you know is D was one of the waiters and then D was also in the studio I'm like where's Christine, but I went to see D Interesting, yeah, where is Christine?
31:13 --> 31:15 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, in her session.
31:15 --> 31:19 [UNKNOWN]: You know, yeah, I think that she's completely Yeah, she's she's gotten out.
31:19 --> 31:21 [UNKNOWN]: She's not involved with any of this anymore.
31:21 --> 31:27 [UNKNOWN]: She I bet you should she survives Whatever happens with a costume because I think she just got a bunker now
31:29 --> 31:36 [UNKNOWN]: I've been wondering if there's been some stand-in for, oh, it's just, I actually just recently restarted the Vampireless.
31:36 --> 31:36 [UNKNOWN]: novel.
31:37 --> 31:45 [UNKNOWN]: And I was just listening to, um, the start talking about getting some hot lawyer set up to help him with stuff.
31:45 --> 31:50 [UNKNOWN]: I'm like, that's probably the Christine, uh, the Christine, um, what do you call it?
31:50 --> 31:50 [UNKNOWN]: Inspiration.
31:51 --> 32:00 [UNKNOWN]: I loved this little detail, throw a detail that Ezra's thought is walking to his first table, the one outside in the garden.
32:01 --> 32:12 [UNKNOWN]: It's music that he says is played for the blind at Montreal Crosswalk, so it's like he is the blind man who needs to be guided to this reckoning with his soul to confront his ghosts.
32:13 --> 32:16 [UNKNOWN]: Um, and they they land on that first table.
32:16 --> 32:17 [UNKNOWN]: So it's I I loved it.
32:17 --> 32:22 [UNKNOWN]: It's just like his father's table and then the scenery just changes around it.
32:22 --> 32:26 [UNKNOWN]: And the first one starts with child and teen list.
32:26 --> 32:32 [UNKNOWN]: The, the habits of Otoleur, the, you know, the who's dulling out punishment from his father's chair.
32:32 --> 32:39 [UNKNOWN]: Do you think like is this talking about starting in a narcissistic place with the three list starts together?
32:43 --> 32:47 [UNKNOWN]: I think that they were just saying like this is the judgment of his mortal life, maybe not judgment, right?
32:47 --> 32:54 [UNKNOWN]: It's a listing of failures of his mortal life, and it was so brief that that's why he would immediately move on to the vampiric life.
32:55 --> 32:58 [UNKNOWN]: Because later Gabriella is like, why are we even talking about this?
32:58 --> 32:59 [UNKNOWN]: It's not part of his vampire life.
33:00 --> 33:01 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, no.
33:01 --> 33:07 [UNKNOWN]: And I feel like that part was, because let's stop said something similar like that it's rude.
33:07 --> 33:15 [UNKNOWN]: He said about Daniel, and keep going him damn because of him, that it's rude to ask about your life before becoming a vampire.
33:15 --> 33:19 [UNKNOWN]: And I think that's because he doesn't want to face his trauma.
33:19 --> 33:20 [UNKNOWN]: He's running for his trauma.
33:20 --> 33:21 [UNKNOWN]: I think that's a list.
33:21 --> 33:22 [UNKNOWN]: I think that's a list.
33:23 --> 33:27 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, but that definitely is a listot rule that is just making up rules for this.
33:27 --> 33:28 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, no.
33:28 --> 33:28 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
33:29 --> 33:31 [UNKNOWN]: I do wonder how D got there.
33:31 --> 33:35 [UNKNOWN]: We hear seven waiters only four of us, which I wondered was about like his privilege.
33:36 --> 33:52 [UNKNOWN]: But then it's interesting that D shows up throughout, and we don't know who any of the others are, and I don't think we see them, I don't know, we, yeah, we don't see anyone else, they're just seem to be extras.
33:52 --> 34:20 [UNKNOWN]: yeah speak which is fine i mean who knows how many people he's killed throughout his mortal life i mean his immortal life could just be that uh uh you know we uh we have some spare victims here right right and then we go to Magnus' tower so then we have Magnus at the head until he switches the Gabriellez you said a niki liwi tc antwenet taking notes and uh what did you think about the lack of Claudia
34:21 --> 34:23 [UNKNOWN]: Claudia's response was hilarious.
34:23 --> 34:26 [UNKNOWN]: Just I've said, but I need to say, that's not actually what she said.
34:27 --> 34:27 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
34:27 --> 34:28 [UNKNOWN]: Ha ha.
34:29 --> 34:32 [UNKNOWN]: Also, I really liked the vampire T.C.
34:32 --> 34:34 [UNKNOWN]: Ha ha ha.
34:34 --> 34:36 [UNKNOWN]: She was having the most fun for sure.
34:36 --> 34:36 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
34:37 --> 34:38 [UNKNOWN]: She's just there to vibe.
34:38 --> 34:44 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, and she set up his cell phone timer to count down to his death, but he got the shout out when they were later.
34:45 --> 34:51 [UNKNOWN]: Um, when there was other reviews making front of him, she was shouted out as, like, she's the only one who didn't know wrong.
34:54 --> 35:03 [UNKNOWN]: Um, but yeah, I mean, as far as Claudia, you know, Delaney Hills, obviously already played three characters this season, Fraudia, Ghost Claudia,
35:08 --> 35:33 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I think she's she's done enough to earn her season regular, but okay, this is something that launched a debate on Blue Sky because I was wondering I thought that the vampire at the end of season two Felix who is a named version of a character that's plays a brief similar role in the book, you know, the one who's catching rats for the stat.
35:34 --> 35:43 [UNKNOWN]: Um, when he's in his sad, rotting robe phase is Gabriella later, reference reference references.
35:44 --> 35:46 [UNKNOWN]: I thought that he was let's start fledgling.
35:46 --> 35:48 [UNKNOWN]: That's what that was my assumption.
35:48 --> 35:53 [UNKNOWN]: And then we also saw Felix in season two of May Fair, where he meets Lashar.
35:53 --> 36:01 [UNKNOWN]: And he says, well, I had a great teacher who basically who taught me not to worry too much about taking human life.
36:03 --> 36:08 [UNKNOWN]: Right, just sound a little bit like Lestad when he's not going to live here, but it looks like you have to enjoy it.
36:10 --> 36:15 [UNKNOWN]: Would you have thoughts about Felix, did you think that he was Lestad's fledgling as well?
36:15 --> 36:18 [UNKNOWN]: I could see him just being his student and not his fledgling.
36:19 --> 36:25 [UNKNOWN]: You know, Lestad comes across and we know, you know, makers abandon their fledgling is quite often with John and Daniel.
36:25 --> 36:31 [UNKNOWN]: But it's like if he is and he was not at that table, that's the biggest insult that you could get.
36:32 --> 36:44 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, let's not forgot about him and you know, I, I will say, he could just be filming May Fair Witches who knows.
36:44 --> 36:54 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, it was interesting that like this whole motif of, that is, he's giving pieces of his soul to his fledglings and to his maker.
36:55 --> 36:58 [UNKNOWN]: Uh, what did you think about the role Magnus played in this?
36:58 --> 37:01 [UNKNOWN]: Like, who is more horrifying at the head of the table?
37:01 --> 37:02 [UNKNOWN]: Magnus or Gabriela?
37:02 --> 37:04 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, Gabriela, a hundred percent.
37:05 --> 37:09 [UNKNOWN]: Magnus knew him for a week as he so kind of was points out as let's not kind of like points out.
37:09 --> 37:17 [UNKNOWN]: And he is able to get at some of his insecurities, but no one can get to your insecurities like the mother.
37:18 --> 37:34 [UNKNOWN]: And, or as, as I can't remember the name of the tenant, but the tenant says, MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
37:43 --> 37:46 [UNKNOWN]: But yeah, I mean, I really, I thought it was fun.
37:46 --> 37:48 [UNKNOWN]: The Magnus was back.
37:48 --> 37:50 [UNKNOWN]: I hope we get Magnus's backstory.
37:52 --> 37:53 [UNKNOWN]: I'm sure we will in the future.
37:54 --> 38:05 [UNKNOWN]: But I thought it was interesting just to see the different facets of Lestat's soul argue with each other, because I think that's what these people are were.
38:06 --> 38:09 [UNKNOWN]: You think you don't think that they were in any way tied to the real spirits?
38:10 --> 38:18 [UNKNOWN]: Um, I mean, Louis was, well, I suppose if the part of Louis sold that was human severed from him.
38:19 --> 38:27 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, but then also there was the scene where, um, you know, he was like, somebody said something about Louis being otherwise occupied.
38:28 --> 38:37 [UNKNOWN]: And we see what's happening to Louis in real time tied to, you know, they're where he's like, can't really articulate because he's dying.
38:37 --> 38:38 [UNKNOWN]: That's true.
38:39 --> 38:43 [UNKNOWN]: That's true, but if there is no spiritual connection to Louie, how would list out and know that?
38:45 --> 38:45 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, exactly.
38:46 --> 38:51 [UNKNOWN]: I suppose through, you know, oh, no, he can't do that with Louie.
38:51 --> 38:55 [UNKNOWN]: He can't psychic, so I think this has to be in some way tethered to reality.
38:57 --> 38:57 [UNKNOWN]: But it's fair.
38:58 --> 39:09 [UNKNOWN]: Although he points out obviously later that, well, he says Gabriela was a harsher to him in this reality than she was when she was trying to coax him on stage in the final scene, which A makes sense.
39:09 --> 39:11 [UNKNOWN]: But B, I notice in this
39:12 --> 39:13 [UNKNOWN]: astral plane or whatever.
39:15 --> 39:25 [UNKNOWN]: He is, she's the one who's most often saying nice things about them because, yeah, Magnus calls them the failure finder, which I feel like the felt like is like let's stop hating on himself.
39:26 --> 39:27 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I get that.
39:28 --> 39:35 [UNKNOWN]: I guess what, what, what through, what made me think that these are the human aspects of the souls that he's talking to is the fact that they're eating
39:38 --> 39:45 [UNKNOWN]: Just it looked like the human Louis that did not look like vampire Louis And I think the same thing about Nicky, right?
39:45 --> 39:51 [UNKNOWN]: He didn't have his crazy vampire hair Yeah, I'll look pretty vampiric.
39:51 --> 39:55 [UNKNOWN]: I'll say that and and Magnus 2, but Magnus is dead so you can excuse that that can be a vampire soul
39:56 --> 39:57 [UNKNOWN]: What's Louis wearing?
39:58 --> 40:00 [UNKNOWN]: I don't remember Louis suits well enough.
40:00 --> 40:09 [UNKNOWN]: But the suit he was wearing looked to me like the one he was wearing when he met with the guy who had his heart dancing in season one.
40:10 --> 40:12 [UNKNOWN]: Ah, that's interesting.
40:14 --> 40:15 [UNKNOWN]: I like it, of course.
40:16 --> 40:17 [UNKNOWN]: Of course, of course.
40:19 --> 40:24 [UNKNOWN]: So that season still has the best quotes from the three seasons.
40:24 --> 40:25 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know.
40:25 --> 40:27 [UNKNOWN]: There's so many good quotes from the season though.
40:27 --> 40:29 [UNKNOWN]: Worst, just, just, sir.
40:30 --> 40:31 [UNKNOWN]: Watch your sister song.
40:31 --> 40:31 [UNKNOWN]: Ridiculous.
40:35 --> 40:37 [UNKNOWN]: Um, but you know, be here.
40:37 --> 40:40 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, Gabriela was was, you know, was defending him.
40:40 --> 40:43 [UNKNOWN]: They're talking about the destruction of the children of darkness.
40:43 --> 40:44 [UNKNOWN]: Come in, you know, Armand sold cult.
40:45 --> 40:47 [UNKNOWN]: Impressive, reckless.
40:47 --> 40:48 [UNKNOWN]: She said, overdue.
40:48 --> 40:57 [UNKNOWN]: And honestly, I think that Armand kind of thanked him for freeing him from it, but then also hated him for taking away his purpose.
40:57 --> 40:59 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, it kind of looked at feelings.
40:59 --> 41:03 [UNKNOWN]: Just Gabriella was, you know, she was kind at first.
41:03 --> 41:03 [UNKNOWN]: You're right.
41:03 --> 41:06 [UNKNOWN]: She was very defensive of him at first.
41:06 --> 41:12 [UNKNOWN]: And she slowly gets more and more judgmental of Lestad and more on the other side of things.
41:13 --> 41:17 [UNKNOWN]: I think that was really interesting because that's kind of what she does in real life, right?
41:17 --> 41:19 [UNKNOWN]: She kind of loved bombs him and then pulls away.
41:19 --> 41:20 [UNKNOWN]: Mm-hmm.
41:20 --> 41:23 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, mass toxic behavior, yeah.
41:23 --> 41:23 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
41:24 --> 41:25 [UNKNOWN]: and Starvoing.
41:26 --> 41:26 [UNKNOWN]: Oh my god.
41:27 --> 41:29 [UNKNOWN]: But then it also made me think like so.
41:29 --> 41:29 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
41:29 --> 41:48 [UNKNOWN]: So then he gives Armana new purpose with this Paris oven and then he bannens this Paris oven and I'm just gonna say that points out again that the story we got about Nikki's death this season does not line up with what we've heard about his death in the past where Nikki took they it's been said before.
41:48 --> 41:50 [UNKNOWN]: Nikki took his own life
41:54 --> 42:04 [UNKNOWN]: So I, you know, and we, that whole thing, let's start said before about the, oh, that seems to be a stop responding to the witches.
42:06 --> 42:08 [UNKNOWN]: Rather than thinking of the fire.
42:08 --> 42:11 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I was, I was picturing it as a,
42:13 --> 42:15 [UNKNOWN]: Well, no, he, yeah, the death rattle, right?
42:15 --> 42:18 [UNKNOWN]: And that, what he said, the Nicky's death rattle was like earlier.
42:18 --> 42:19 [UNKNOWN]: Mm-hmm.
42:19 --> 42:23 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, an episode three when he was talking about Nicky inside.
42:23 --> 42:23 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
42:23 --> 42:25 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, yeah, now he's making that sound.
42:26 --> 42:28 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I like this, uh, this parallel here.
42:29 --> 42:46 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I mean, I just wonder, I just think maybe he's not being honest with himself yet about Nikki's death and that's one of the things we'll revisit in the next season, but, um, but if from Nikki's perspective, who's a character who says this, he says selfish cowardly because let's stop abandon him.
42:46 --> 42:49 [UNKNOWN]: And it's kind of Gabriella's fault.
42:49 --> 42:56 [UNKNOWN]: Gabriella said he was generous to a fault, so that's her, but she's excusing herself in that because she's pretty much the one who
42:59 --> 43:09 [UNKNOWN]: you know road trip highway men adventure yeah yeah i'm hearing you there okay you've sold me
43:11 --> 43:19 [UNKNOWN]: Can I ask, I was, I thought it was interesting that Magnus also said judgment comes from God, Satan, the Simulation.
43:19 --> 43:22 [UNKNOWN]: Now the first two I think are, I'm not the devil references.
43:23 --> 43:23 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, yeah.
43:23 --> 43:27 [UNKNOWN]: Setting up that, but the Simulation, I'm like, Simulation theory, let's go!
43:28 --> 43:28 [UNKNOWN]: That's...
43:28 --> 43:30 [UNKNOWN]: He utterly used walking.
43:31 --> 43:37 [UNKNOWN]: It's totally not in any of the books, but that's one of my favorite philosophical ideas about our real world.
43:37 --> 43:45 [UNKNOWN]: Listen, if, and Rice were still writing these books today, she better bet your ass a darts going right in the simulating theory.
43:45 --> 43:47 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, absolutely, you can see that happening.
43:47 --> 43:49 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, that would be the next layer on top.
43:50 --> 43:50 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
43:50 --> 43:50 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
43:50 --> 43:54 [UNKNOWN]: It turns out that vampires were actually just a virus in the Matrix.
43:54 --> 43:54 [UNKNOWN]: Mm-hmm.
43:55 --> 43:55 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
43:57 --> 44:06 [UNKNOWN]: Um, so okay, with the maker comparison, when let's not said I did what my maker showed me throw money at the problem and run away.
44:06 --> 44:12 [UNKNOWN]: Obviously he's talking about Magnus just being like, take everything I have and throwing himself in the fire.
44:12 --> 44:26 [UNKNOWN]: But it also made me think about what we saw about Gabriella is that, you know, she talks a lot that she wanted him to leave over and she, you know, to go to school, to go to Paris and she did fund these things.
44:26 --> 44:30 [UNKNOWN]: but she just threw money at him and then went back to her book.
44:30 --> 44:32 [UNKNOWN]: It's what we saw her do the season.
44:32 --> 44:32 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
44:32 --> 44:33 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
44:34 --> 44:40 [UNKNOWN]: So yeah, that's where it's like, yeah, is she any better than Magnus really?
44:40 --> 44:40 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, no.
44:40 --> 44:41 [UNKNOWN]: I don't think she is.
44:41 --> 44:48 [UNKNOWN]: And perhaps worse because her abuse of him was continuous and not just a one time or a one week affair.
44:48 --> 44:49 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
44:50 --> 45:14 [UNKNOWN]: And Lestot's passing this on because what we hear, you know, that Lestot did say no to Magnus, and Magnus gave it to him anyway, and so now the Magnus muse says, like, all consent is a 20th century concern, but I was just rewatching the season from here, and when Lestot's turning Louis, Louis does ultimately consent, but he says to him before that,
45:14 --> 45:19 [UNKNOWN]: I can swap this life of shame, swap it out for a dark gift and a power you can't begin to imagine.
45:20 --> 45:22 [UNKNOWN]: You just have to ask me for it.
45:23 --> 45:31 [UNKNOWN]: You just have to nod your beautiful head and say yes, but you just have to ask me for it is almost literally a line from the magma song.
45:32 --> 45:33 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
45:33 --> 45:35 [UNKNOWN]: It's just that Louis had a different answer.
45:36 --> 45:36 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
45:36 --> 45:37 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
45:37 --> 45:38 [UNKNOWN]: Louis did say yes.
45:38 --> 45:39 [UNKNOWN]: Lou, we had a different answer.
45:40 --> 45:42 [UNKNOWN]: Magnus, I don't remember who's Magnus.
45:42 --> 45:52 [UNKNOWN]: I think he was though, who grew a parallel between Gabriella and Lestat in showing Claudia trauma.
45:52 --> 45:52 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
45:54 --> 45:54 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
45:55 --> 45:57 [UNKNOWN]: So that's another parallel with the abuses.
45:58 --> 45:59 [UNKNOWN]: Not great.
45:59 --> 46:02 [UNKNOWN]: Lestat's learning from his abusers, which I think is realistic to the real world, right?
46:02 --> 46:06 [UNKNOWN]: Like people learn abusive behaviors from experience sometimes.
46:06 --> 46:06 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
46:08 --> 46:23 [UNKNOWN]: Can I ask you, when Gabriella takes the head of the table, the locations which is for Magnus' Tower, not to wear, he grew up, but rather to the apartment in Paris, where they lived when they were all first vampires.
46:24 --> 46:26 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, that makes sense to me.
46:26 --> 46:28 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, Gabriella was never at home in Overnight.
46:30 --> 46:31 [UNKNOWN]: that's what I would say.
46:31 --> 46:39 [UNKNOWN]: Gabriella was never in charge in over and Gabriella was never at home in over and so I could absolutely see why it would be the apartment in Paris, which is the first time she was ever free.
46:40 --> 46:42 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, yeah, it's supposed that's true.
46:42 --> 46:49 [UNKNOWN]: If it's somewhere where she's going to have control over the situation, I think it has to be either in Paris or somewhere in the future.
46:53 --> 46:54 [UNKNOWN]: And they already had the set, so give them a break.
46:57 --> 47:01 [UNKNOWN]: I've been thinking about these numbers of the courses that they announced.
47:01 --> 47:02 [UNKNOWN]: Does that?
47:03 --> 47:12 [UNKNOWN]: Is this, are we supposed to draw analogies between this and the way that the albums are numbered of the failures that we've been hearing the narration of all season?
47:12 --> 47:14 [UNKNOWN]: I just took it as a lot of failures.
47:15 --> 47:16 [UNKNOWN]: Not in, uh, no.
47:16 --> 47:20 [UNKNOWN]: Cause I think the last one we heard was album 57, right?
47:20 --> 47:20 [UNKNOWN]: So why not?
47:20 --> 47:23 [UNKNOWN]: No, it's, uh, what did they say?
47:23 --> 47:27 [UNKNOWN]: There was, I mean, I don't think we're done with it cause I'm wondering if it's gonna come back next season as well.
47:28 --> 47:28 [UNKNOWN]: Let's see.
47:29 --> 47:31 [UNKNOWN]: I did keep track of it somewhere.
47:32 --> 47:38 [UNKNOWN]: Um, let's see, it was, uh, the last one we heard was, oh, okay, 30 seconds.
47:39 --> 47:41 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, no, no, we've gotten a 49.
47:41 --> 47:42 [UNKNOWN]: I guess it was 57, yeah.
47:43 --> 47:47 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, because it's, uh, it's not, we're not that high.
47:47 --> 47:48 [UNKNOWN]: We're not that high in the fillers.
47:48 --> 47:53 [UNKNOWN]: Maybe it didn't say, but didn't they say they were like 211 or something albums?
47:53 --> 47:54 [UNKNOWN]: I forget how many they said it.
47:54 --> 47:56 [UNKNOWN]: I think I wrote in the first outline.
47:56 --> 47:58 [UNKNOWN]: So I'll find that while you keep talking.
47:58 --> 48:09 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, but yeah, I also just wondered if there's any correlation with at one point Nicki Muse was shouting random numbers at LaStad to distract him from recording.
48:09 --> 48:13 [UNKNOWN]: And I don't know if we're supposed to draw any lines between them just putting it out there.
48:16 --> 48:21 [UNKNOWN]: the fact that they point out that so episode six took place on Halloween.
48:21 --> 48:33 [UNKNOWN]: This episode took place November 1st all Saints Day, which is of course a day of feasting appropriate, but do you think let's not seize himself as a martyr?
48:33 --> 48:35 [UNKNOWN]: Because it's a day of feasting martyrs, right?
48:35 --> 48:38 [UNKNOWN]: You would know more about all Saints Day perhaps than I am.
48:38 --> 48:40 [UNKNOWN]: I am not that familiar with all Saints Day.
48:42 --> 48:43 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I don't know.
48:43 --> 48:44 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know.
48:44 --> 48:45 [UNKNOWN]: Do does he see himself as a martyr?
48:46 --> 48:48 [UNKNOWN]: I actually don't think so.
48:48 --> 48:52 [UNKNOWN]: He's very narcissistic, but I don't think that's the image he has of himself.
48:53 --> 48:54 [UNKNOWN]: You know what I mean?
48:54 --> 48:55 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
48:56 --> 49:00 [UNKNOWN]: I could see him seeing himself as a Messiah, but not as a martyr.
49:00 --> 49:00 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
49:01 --> 49:02 [UNKNOWN]: A savior, not a martyr.
49:02 --> 49:02 [UNKNOWN]: Mm-hmm.
49:06 --> 49:23 [UNKNOWN]: 80s is also interesting that so set in 2025 when all same stay was on Saturday, which is Shabbat, depending on where, you know, what version of what I call the three cousins religion you so you follow?
49:24 --> 49:26 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, it was definitely a kosher deli for sure.
49:26 --> 49:28 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, yeah, no, so they point
49:34 --> 49:42 [UNKNOWN]: judo judo Christian idea of, you know, of religion, and whether this is setting up the memnock thing.
49:43 --> 49:50 [UNKNOWN]: But it is interesting, I don't know if we've ever talked about it, that this is during the day, so they point out no one can help him.
49:51 --> 49:56 [UNKNOWN]: But in the Anne Rice books, during the day, it's almost like they cannot resist sleeping.
49:56 --> 49:58 [UNKNOWN]: They just fall asleep when the sun comes up.
50:00 --> 50:01 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, interesting.
50:01 --> 50:06 [UNKNOWN]: And here, it's like, you're burned, but you can be awake if you're awake.
50:06 --> 50:07 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
50:07 --> 50:08 [UNKNOWN]: If you're inside, you're okay.
50:09 --> 50:11 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, like you can pull an old nighter and all day or.
50:13 --> 50:15 [UNKNOWN]: I did, by the way, track down the number, it's 111 albums.
50:15 --> 50:16 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
50:16 --> 50:17 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
50:17 --> 50:19 [UNKNOWN]: So we are higher than that.
50:19 --> 50:19 [UNKNOWN]: Mm-hmm.
50:20 --> 50:22 [UNKNOWN]: So yeah, I don't think they're connected.
50:22 --> 50:23 [UNKNOWN]: All right.
50:23 --> 50:28 [UNKNOWN]: Although every, every vinyl record is two sides, so maybe, you know, if we only got up to two hundred and five.
50:29 --> 50:31 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, you got 222.
50:31 --> 50:35 [UNKNOWN]: Hmm.
50:35 --> 50:39 [UNKNOWN]: Did you notice the whole, which did you think of the exchange Rennicky said?
50:39 --> 50:42 [UNKNOWN]: He gave me the gift rather than telling me he loved me.
50:42 --> 50:46 [UNKNOWN]: I begged him to say, Nikki, I will never love you the way you love me.
50:47 --> 50:57 [UNKNOWN]: And immediately I'm thinking about the that is what Lestat was yelling at Louie when, you know, the worst domestic abuse episode.
50:58 --> 51:02 [UNKNOWN]: And so the Louie news says, got to say that shit a mile up in the air.
51:03 --> 51:08 [UNKNOWN]: So Lestat was repeating to Louie when Nikki said to him because Lestat was afraid.
51:09 --> 51:17 [UNKNOWN]: that Nicky felt, sorry, let's stop was afraid that Louis felt about him the way he felt about Nicky, which was not enough.
51:19 --> 51:20 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
51:21 --> 51:21 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, man.
51:22 --> 51:23 [UNKNOWN]: That's hard.
51:24 --> 51:25 [UNKNOWN]: That's hard to hear, honestly.
51:28 --> 51:38 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I I did enjoy Gabriella chiming in like 10 like it just Everyone just yelling at Nicky like shut up.
51:38 --> 51:43 [UNKNOWN]: You're not a real victim But she said he told you he loved you thousand times and let's not like 10.
51:43 --> 51:43 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, okay.
51:44 --> 51:45 [UNKNOWN]: It was a very reverse.
51:45 --> 51:53 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, he loves Yeah, no, I just I just yeah Nikki well Nikki was a victim of will start to be clear, but that wasn't why
51:54 --> 51:59 [UNKNOWN]: No, no, yeah, I think let's not wish he could love him more in the end.
52:00 --> 52:01 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
52:01 --> 52:07 [UNKNOWN]: I would say I've decided I made sure I didn't miss a reference that Nikki makes at one point too.
52:07 --> 52:14 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know, it's something about like the, let's start saying like you were at the Toronto show and you were at the Detroit show.
52:15 --> 52:20 [UNKNOWN]: And Nikki's like, well, we weren't at the show at the Potowa,
52:21 --> 52:43 [UNKNOWN]: Tommy's in Fort Wayne, Indiana and so I said I had to point it out because my tribe is the Potawatomi and so this was clearly a reference to that and you know the historical lands of the Potawatomi do stretch over northern Indiana but as far as I can tell this is not a real bar there Yeah, good shout out good catch
52:50 --> 52:52 [UNKNOWN]: So everyone's got sass.
52:52 --> 52:53 [UNKNOWN]: You have this quote here.
52:53 --> 52:56 [UNKNOWN]: There's a lot coming for you coming at you, Monchair.
52:56 --> 52:59 [UNKNOWN]: Just remember, you're the only one who can control the volume.
53:00 --> 53:08 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I think, you know, saying, as someone who said that I have similarities to this start, that was kind of good to hear, right?
53:08 --> 53:17 [UNKNOWN]: Like, you, there's a lot going on in the busy brain, but only you can hone in on things and control the volume.
53:20 --> 53:22 [UNKNOWN]: Well, he's going to control the volume later, but we're not there yet.
53:26 --> 53:30 [UNKNOWN]: Um, yeah, love the whole, I mean, what did you think?
53:30 --> 53:32 [UNKNOWN]: Why do you think Antoinette was a stenographer?
53:34 --> 53:38 [UNKNOWN]: Maybe because she had nine fingers and they thought it was kind of poking fun at that.
53:38 --> 53:42 [UNKNOWN]: I know, honestly, like, yeah, is it like a cruel joke by will stop?
53:43 --> 53:45 [UNKNOWN]: Mm-hmm.
53:45 --> 53:47 [UNKNOWN]: The person who it's hardest to type for.
53:48 --> 53:54 [UNKNOWN]: And it was interesting that Gabriela said she would be able to say her piece, but she never really did to be honest.
53:55 --> 53:55 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
53:57 --> 54:01 [UNKNOWN]: I don't think he had the best formed idea of her identity.
54:02 --> 54:07 [UNKNOWN]: She was a function in his life, rather than a full person like a lot of the others.
54:08 --> 54:10 [UNKNOWN]: At least he says, just as friend, what about early overseas?
54:13 --> 54:13 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
54:15 --> 54:16 [UNKNOWN]: Basically looks at the camera to say it.
54:18 --> 54:22 [UNKNOWN]: I'm glad we did get to finally see what the witch burning thing was about.
54:23 --> 54:27 [UNKNOWN]: I was brutal and in the way he says, they played it our house like.
54:27 --> 54:29 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, yeah.
54:30 --> 54:46 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, they just, I mean, he did say earlier that he thought that the two nine-year-old twins were witches, and I'll just say for all the people who are worried that, you know, as soon as they're like twin witches burned, they're like, oh my god, they've also killed Maharetta and McCarray off screen too.
54:47 --> 54:51 [UNKNOWN]: So when they finally got to that scene, I'm like, oh thank God there are no red heads there.
54:52 --> 54:53 [UNKNOWN]: Everybody calm down.
54:53 --> 54:53 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
54:54 --> 54:54 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, no.
54:54 --> 54:56 [UNKNOWN]: It sounds like everybody got okay.
54:57 --> 55:06 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I mean it's yeah, so it's if they're going to have these two characters, which are pretty central characters in the book, but I don't think No, they don't show up.
55:06 --> 55:10 [UNKNOWN]: You just read the vampire list that they don't show up until Queen of the Damned I don't think.
55:10 --> 55:12 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
55:12 --> 55:13 [UNKNOWN]: You don't remember that time, right?
55:14 --> 55:14 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
55:14 --> 55:15 [UNKNOWN]: I don't remember them, no.
55:15 --> 55:16 [UNKNOWN]: No, yeah.
55:17 --> 55:33 [UNKNOWN]: Um, but I, I just, I, it was, it was good to get like a full sequence set in the past, you know, where it goes, goes quiet, you know, it, he's he's focusing in on this, um, I for some reason I enjoy his really dickish brother.
55:37 --> 55:39 [UNKNOWN]: Um, what did you think about so?
55:39 --> 55:42 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, here's the speech we got from the priest.
55:42 --> 55:45 [UNKNOWN]: The Lord is a jealous and avenging God.
55:45 --> 55:49 [UNKNOWN]: He takes vengeance on his adversaries and keeps wrath for his enemies.
55:50 --> 55:53 [UNKNOWN]: The Lord is slow to anger but great in power.
55:53 --> 55:56 [UNKNOWN]: His way is the whirlwind and the storm.
55:56 --> 55:58 [UNKNOWN]: The clouds are the dust of his feet.
55:59 --> 56:01 [UNKNOWN]: He rebukes the sea and makes it cry.
56:01 --> 56:08 [UNKNOWN]: who can stand before his indignation, who can endure the heat of his anger, his wrath is poured out like fire.
56:08 --> 56:14 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, what do you think of like the fire and brimstone of it all?
56:16 --> 56:21 [UNKNOWN]: Fitting, I think that that is what fits this type of show, right?
56:22 --> 56:22 [UNKNOWN]: This is, you know?
56:24 --> 56:26 [UNKNOWN]: Nothing is merciful in this show.
56:28 --> 56:37 [UNKNOWN]: I just, I think it's interesting like that is the version of religion that let's stop was when he said there's an ocean between Christ and myself in the first season.
56:37 --> 56:39 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, oh, that's so interesting.
56:40 --> 56:42 [UNKNOWN]: Like that's the version he was exposed to.
56:42 --> 56:43 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, you're absolutely right.
56:44 --> 56:46 [UNKNOWN]: I think that's exactly what they're going for there.
56:47 --> 56:58 [UNKNOWN]: I know it's also thinking so much of that sounds like our mom's view of the world and I was thinking like this, you know, our mom was born in 1508, even a couple of centuries before the stat.
56:58 --> 57:05 [UNKNOWN]: And that is also like that's the parent that raised them that church in a way.
57:05 --> 57:06 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
57:06 --> 57:07 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
57:08 --> 57:20 [UNKNOWN]: Um, but we have this, this relief from the tonsured monk in the crowd, no one who conceals transict aggressions were prosper, but one who confesses him for six, then will obtain mercy.
57:20 --> 57:23 [UNKNOWN]: And that's what our mom was looking for from Louie.
57:23 --> 57:25 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, he just wanted absolute shit, right?
57:26 --> 57:26 [UNKNOWN]: Mm-hmm.
57:27 --> 57:29 [UNKNOWN]: when about the worst possible way, but that's how we do.
57:30 --> 57:33 [UNKNOWN]: And he did go, but I mean, yeah, he's a murder grumman.
57:33 --> 57:36 [UNKNOWN]: Again, I'm not going to be in our monster, and what did I say?
57:36 --> 57:42 [UNKNOWN]: I'll be as a beacon of light to be our moderators out there to guide through you, through the sea, through the fog of love.
57:45 --> 57:46 [UNKNOWN]: I show if it's stuck up into the fog of love.
57:49 --> 57:53 [UNKNOWN]: But do you wonder if we are going to meet God soon because of all this men knocked the devil's stuff?
57:54 --> 57:57 [UNKNOWN]: And then I wonder also Paul said, yes, ma'am, to someone else's greed.
57:57 --> 58:03 [UNKNOWN]: And so I think even on the afterdark, someone else like, God is a woman confirmed.
58:04 --> 58:05 [UNKNOWN]: Ha ha ha.
58:06 --> 58:13 [UNKNOWN]: Um, I have in my head that I really hope that they make it like an Anne-Rice stand in because she's the God of this world.
58:13 --> 58:14 [UNKNOWN]: She's a creator of this world.
58:15 --> 58:16 [UNKNOWN]: I think that that would be absolutely great.
58:19 --> 58:43 [UNKNOWN]: by the priest characterization of the fire and brimstone and all the he's yeah that's interesting so the the witches um we there's a nine-year-old twins um i was the one the start played with and mart it's the other one of rule a and that's the start said he thought they were really
58:47 --> 58:55 [UNKNOWN]: and we find out one of them, it sounds like, um, was abused by her father.
58:55 --> 59:00 [UNKNOWN]: So the mother tried to poison the father and the daughter was burned at the stake for it.
59:00 --> 59:02 [UNKNOWN]: That's absolutely awful.
59:02 --> 59:11 [UNKNOWN]: And the other one was abused by her school master, and Gabriella said he cleans up his transgressions most
59:16 --> 59:17 [UNKNOWN]: how horrendous.
59:18 --> 59:19 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, how horrendous.
59:20 --> 59:37 [UNKNOWN]: But yeah, I mean, this is like, yeah, I like I complain with house of the dragon about these throwaway sexual assault things, but for some reason when this show does it, even when it's just barely touched on like this, for some reason it has
59:38 --> 59:45 [UNKNOWN]: the depth, the groundedness that for me makes it a satisfying representation.
59:45 --> 59:46 [UNKNOWN]: Do you know what I mean?
59:46 --> 59:47 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, no.
59:47 --> 59:48 [UNKNOWN]: I totally know what you mean.
59:49 --> 59:50 [UNKNOWN]: They thought about it.
59:50 --> 59:52 [UNKNOWN]: This is not a plot device.
59:52 --> 59:56 [UNKNOWN]: This is an actual examination of what it does to people.
59:58 --> 59:59 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
59:59 --> 01:00:01 [UNKNOWN]: And I think that part of that is not just
01:00:02 --> 01:00:07 [UNKNOWN]: The way they approach sexual assault, the way they approach all of their writing, which is character focused.
01:00:07 --> 01:00:10 [UNKNOWN]: This isn't all of these seasons have been character studies.
01:00:10 --> 01:00:12 [UNKNOWN]: That's why the season was called the Vampire Listot.
01:00:13 --> 01:00:17 [UNKNOWN]: And I think that that's a wonderful, first of all, I am always a sucker for a character.
01:00:17 --> 01:00:19 [UNKNOWN]: So today I think this is one of why it's one of my favorite shows.
01:00:19 --> 01:00:23 [UNKNOWN]: Uh, and they just do such a phenomenal job with that.
01:00:24 --> 01:00:29 [UNKNOWN]: Uh, you know, again, the way that they add that nuance to our mind to where I'm kind of tearing up.
01:00:29 --> 01:00:36 [UNKNOWN]: And I fucking hate that guy, but like, you know, you're talking about what happened to our mind and I'm like, poor kid.
01:00:38 --> 01:00:42 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, can we just say, just the actors that they got for this?
01:00:42 --> 01:00:45 [UNKNOWN]: Like, Assad's a man in that scene.
01:00:45 --> 01:00:49 [UNKNOWN]: They just, you know, is we were talking about it in a chat with you.
01:00:49 --> 01:00:52 [UNKNOWN]: Mark and I, and you know, Mark was like, they just focused on his face.
01:00:52 --> 01:00:54 [UNKNOWN]: And I noticed like, they'd not only just focused on his face.
01:00:54 --> 01:00:56 [UNKNOWN]: And that scene, of course, we'll get to a momentarily.
01:00:56 --> 01:00:59 [UNKNOWN]: But they focused on just like a quadrant of his face.
01:00:59 --> 01:01:03 [UNKNOWN]: Like just one crumpled up tier filled eye.
01:01:03 --> 01:01:06 [UNKNOWN]: And just the most devastating.
01:01:07 --> 01:01:09 [UNKNOWN]: shot that you can imagine and yeah.
01:01:09 --> 01:01:09 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:01:11 --> 01:01:11 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:01:12 --> 01:01:18 [UNKNOWN]: Um, what did you think about Gabriella's explanation for why she took Listot to the Burning?
01:01:19 --> 01:01:19 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, I don't buy her.
01:01:20 --> 01:01:24 [UNKNOWN]: I think that she had a morbid curiosity and she likes to trauma them.
01:01:25 --> 01:01:25 [UNKNOWN]: Hmm.
01:01:27 --> 01:01:31 [UNKNOWN]: And like honestly like do a little better pushing them out if that's really what you want.
01:01:32 --> 01:01:55 [UNKNOWN]: it would be a little more explicit to be fair he did leave twice he went to the monastery for schooling and he went to the theater troop and both times his father and brothers pulled him back no you're definitely right yeah he did try to leave and you know when when she's calling a cabbage in this he's calling himself a cabbage but yeah it's not fair let's stop be fair to yourself he's like I was the
01:01:59 --> 01:02:06 [UNKNOWN]: And did you notice they re-filmed the forcing Claudia to watch her boyfriend burn scene with Didlemy Hales?
01:02:07 --> 01:02:14 [UNKNOWN]: I didn't notice that that I was I've just kind of re-integrated Didlemy as my Claudia at this point.
01:02:15 --> 01:02:15 [UNKNOWN]: You made me.
01:02:17 --> 01:02:18 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:02:19 --> 01:02:22 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I just was re-watching that scene in the first season.
01:02:24 --> 01:02:24 [UNKNOWN]: But yeah.
01:02:26 --> 01:02:29 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, that was, that was like a devastating realization to him, I think.
01:02:31 --> 01:02:32 [UNKNOWN]: Definitely.
01:02:32 --> 01:02:35 [UNKNOWN]: And also, let's start to make her his love there and let's start.
01:02:35 --> 01:02:39 [UNKNOWN]: I think he's beginning to accept how messed up that is.
01:02:40 --> 01:02:41 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:02:42 --> 01:02:44 [UNKNOWN]: Will you surprise the sea marius at the table?
01:02:45 --> 01:02:47 [UNKNOWN]: No, I, if people were going to yell, let's start marius.
01:02:47 --> 01:02:48 [UNKNOWN]: This is for the spot.
01:02:49 --> 01:02:51 [UNKNOWN]: Was not surprised, I was kind of surprised not to see him at first.
01:02:52 --> 01:02:52 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
01:02:52 --> 01:03:00 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, because he's not, he's not his maker or his fledgling, but he is kind of, especially in the book he's kind of like a surrogate dad in a way.
01:03:01 --> 01:03:05 [UNKNOWN]: And here he told, he told his stop more about vampirism than Magnus ever did.
01:03:06 --> 01:03:06 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:03:06 --> 01:03:06 [UNKNOWN]: No.
01:03:06 --> 01:03:06 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:03:06 --> 01:03:11 [UNKNOWN]: He is, he is definitely a, a maker of sorts for him.
01:03:12 --> 01:03:12 [UNKNOWN]: Mm-hmm.
01:03:13 --> 01:03:15 [UNKNOWN]: He gave him the initiation he was due.
01:03:16 --> 01:03:16 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:03:19 --> 01:03:31 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, I know people are upset that Marius and Lestad haven't had that warm relationship in the books, but I still personally hold his treatment of our mom against him.
01:03:31 --> 01:03:36 [UNKNOWN]: And here, like, did something, I just don't want them to gloss over that.
01:03:36 --> 01:03:57 [UNKNOWN]: over the grooming of our mind and everything and the pink him out and the fact that they are just like he's calling our mind is rotten boy but then he also later calls the stop a rotten boy as well and I think they're going to lean full into the darkness of this marius character and I'm glad for it.
01:03:58 --> 01:04:02 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah I think so too and yeah he deserves to be treated as a dark character.
01:04:02 --> 01:04:04 [UNKNOWN]: He did awful, awful things to our mind.
01:04:05 --> 01:04:07 [UNKNOWN]: and was not great to Lassati there.
01:04:08 --> 01:04:10 [UNKNOWN]: No, just no doubt.
01:04:11 --> 01:04:15 [UNKNOWN]: What is it with the Senior Vampires just no thing out for this time?
01:04:16 --> 01:04:28 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I mean, I do wonder people were saying that like they wrote this to be a possible end of series and I didn't know how it could be given.
01:04:28 --> 01:04:29 [UNKNOWN]: No way.
01:04:30 --> 01:04:39 [UNKNOWN]: Given that it's, you know, like halfway through these two very interconnected novels, but the fact they did review,
01:04:40 --> 01:04:53 [UNKNOWN]: a lot of less sad story on fast forward or actually rewind and walking backwards at some point, but it was like a sort of satisfying recap of the last three seasons.
01:04:54 --> 01:04:55 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, it was.
01:04:56 --> 01:04:58 [UNKNOWN]: It was fun to see everything.
01:04:58 --> 01:05:05 [UNKNOWN]: I, you know, part of it was, oh, you know, going to this, he's, you know, we're going to get like a re-telling of interview with the vampire from Leicester's perspective.
01:05:05 --> 01:05:06 [UNKNOWN]: And I think that would have been boring.
01:05:07 --> 01:05:09 [UNKNOWN]: I think this was a much more creative way to do it.
01:05:09 --> 01:05:14 [UNKNOWN]: I see some of the complaints about the non-linear format, but I have literally zero those feelings.
01:05:15 --> 01:05:18 [UNKNOWN]: I have never once been like, I would have been better to be a little more straightforward.
01:05:18 --> 01:05:19 [UNKNOWN]: No, it's not.
01:05:19 --> 01:05:20 [UNKNOWN]: I love it.
01:05:20 --> 01:05:23 [UNKNOWN]: This is exactly the right way to approach the season.
01:05:23 --> 01:05:29 [UNKNOWN]: I love what I can sense that I think I said that's earlier as soon as I love that I could sense when I show runners smarter than me.
01:05:29 --> 01:05:32 [UNKNOWN]: And Roland James absolutely.
01:05:32 --> 01:05:33 [UNKNOWN]: It's smarter than me.
01:05:33 --> 01:05:34 [UNKNOWN]: On Jones, yeah.
01:05:34 --> 01:05:35 [UNKNOWN]: Roland, sorry.
01:05:36 --> 01:05:37 [UNKNOWN]: Roland Jones.
01:05:37 --> 01:05:39 [UNKNOWN]: God damn, I can't.
01:05:39 --> 01:05:40 [UNKNOWN]: I'm thinking of raglan James.
01:05:40 --> 01:05:41 [UNKNOWN]: That's why.
01:05:41 --> 01:05:41 [UNKNOWN]: Right, right.
01:05:43 --> 01:06:09 [UNKNOWN]: there was one new scene though in the recap that people were pointing out and it actually is like really sweet and heartbreaking at the same time because I saw someone draw a parallel to the new scene is the stop knocking on Louise Koffin in their neural and house and then opening it and peeking inside me there and the parallel that was drawn was between the stop knocking on the boat and
01:06:12 --> 01:06:18 [UNKNOWN]: So, like, he was remembering that as he knocked on this coffin in Louisiana.
01:06:18 --> 01:06:21 [UNKNOWN]: Only this time when he opened it up, Louis really was there.
01:06:23 --> 01:06:24 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:06:27 --> 01:06:29 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, he was, oh.
01:06:32 --> 01:06:38 [UNKNOWN]: Well, let's take another break because we have a whole other set of toxic vampires to go through.
01:06:40 --> 01:06:42 [UNKNOWN]: And I'm exhausted with them already.
01:07:03 --> 01:07:09 [UNKNOWN]: We're back, who wants to talk about Louis de Poant du Lac?
01:07:10 --> 01:07:14 [UNKNOWN]: Armand offers a mens to Louis's head.
01:07:14 --> 01:07:15 [UNKNOWN]: Armand?
01:07:15 --> 01:07:17 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, armands.
01:07:17 --> 01:07:20 [UNKNOWN]: And demands armands in return.
01:07:21 --> 01:07:24 [UNKNOWN]: He keeps the head and body separated at a kosher butcher shop.
01:07:25 --> 01:07:30 [UNKNOWN]: Armand reveals that this interrogation is being live cast, well, Dr. Farid monitors Louis.
01:07:31 --> 01:07:36 [UNKNOWN]: Armand shows Louis listot's body and brings in Regina who was an intentional manipulation by Armand.
01:07:37 --> 01:07:42 [UNKNOWN]: He intends to put Louis's head back on, sorry, onto Regina's body.
01:07:42 --> 01:07:43 [UNKNOWN]: I guess it was never there.
01:07:44 --> 01:07:58 [UNKNOWN]: uh... the murder gremlin demonstrates his power over humans with the word rest before regina can obey loui reaches for the paper regina cuts her wrist but before she can bleed out loui gives our mod a genuine apology
01:07:59 --> 01:08:05 [UNKNOWN]: He loved Lestat the whole time he was with Armand, Louis has built his identity on lies.
01:08:05 --> 01:08:08 [UNKNOWN]: He shows empathy for what was done to Armand when he was only 12.
01:08:09 --> 01:08:22 [UNKNOWN]: Louis apologizes for not being a love that would cradle Armand, moved by the apology, Armand, Gilles and releases Regina, Dr. Farid sores Louis head back on.
01:08:24 --> 01:08:32 [UNKNOWN]: I love how doctor for read is like you're right he is doctor for anxiety is like yeah If I sew it on I think it'll be fine like just so I got it.
01:08:32 --> 01:08:35 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, it seems like it'll be good Well, I thought he was nervous at the end.
01:08:36 --> 01:08:37 [UNKNOWN]: He's like I'm not a plastic surgeon.
01:08:37 --> 01:08:53 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know I so I was like I said I was pre-med at him last week because I was like I assume he's got to be involved with this because of his Dcapitation comments before yeah, but So I was like he seems for most of this kind of coldly calculating just like checking vitals
01:08:55 --> 01:08:57 [UNKNOWN]: Look worried by the end.
01:08:57 --> 01:08:59 [UNKNOWN]: He looks sick and by the end.
01:09:01 --> 01:09:01 [UNKNOWN]: My God, what have I done?
01:09:02 --> 01:09:02 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:09:04 --> 01:09:16 [UNKNOWN]: And, okay, so I was wondering before what they took from the novel, the Vampire Armand, this season, because there was mentioned that they would, and this is the thing, basically.
01:09:16 --> 01:09:33 [UNKNOWN]: So there's a reconstexualization of the trial in the Vampire Armand, because Louis, when we see it the first time, we don't see the full thing happen, because Louis goes into the coffin and he's off screen and we see through his perspective for that story.
01:09:34 --> 01:09:56 [UNKNOWN]: So when we get our mom's version of the story, it gets twisted and he actually tries to switch Madeline and Claudia's heads on their bodies because you know like Claudia wants an adult body and that doesn't go well and then you know ends up just letting exposing them to the light.
01:09:58 --> 01:10:02 [UNKNOWN]: So this is definitely inspired by that this whole sequence here.
01:10:06 --> 01:10:07 [UNKNOWN]: it's very dark.
01:10:07 --> 01:10:09 [UNKNOWN]: This whole thing is very dark.
01:10:10 --> 01:10:11 [UNKNOWN]: This is our monitor's worst.
01:10:11 --> 01:10:12 [UNKNOWN]: Can we agree on that?
01:10:13 --> 01:10:16 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I mean, I, I, it is worse, slash best.
01:10:17 --> 01:10:20 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, he's my, it's a very effective here.
01:10:20 --> 01:10:21 [UNKNOWN]: Mm-hmm.
01:10:21 --> 01:10:25 [UNKNOWN]: He's still enduring intense conversations with himself.
01:10:25 --> 01:10:30 [UNKNOWN]: I like somebody finally was forced to let our mom finish his dad letter.
01:10:31 --> 01:10:32 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, you're right.
01:10:34 --> 01:10:37 [UNKNOWN]: I didn't even think about the fact that we hadn't gotten Louie's apology.
01:10:38 --> 01:10:40 [UNKNOWN]: Oh yeah, now there were people asking about him.
01:10:40 --> 01:10:55 [UNKNOWN]: There's a cartoon I shared in which was like the episode three chat or something or no episode four, I guess, was like Daniel asks, have you talked to Louie and her mom's like, oh, I think I'll circle back later.
01:10:55 --> 01:10:58 [UNKNOWN]: He's seen busy and then you see a panel of our
01:11:08 --> 01:11:10 [UNKNOWN]: Coming from the Breitmore Vampires.
01:11:10 --> 01:11:26 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, but now I mean I'll say our mind I'm sorry doesn't hit as hard when you have the person's head on a spike the chest It's just not gonna Seema's sincere No, it is definitely not
01:11:29 --> 01:11:30 [UNKNOWN]: At least he knows what he did wrong.
01:11:30 --> 01:11:45 [UNKNOWN]: He chose to come in does he really you list them out You know talk as cheap He says but he also says I took a aesthetic pleasure and making your death visually exhilarating.
01:11:45 --> 01:11:49 [UNKNOWN]: Sorry Sorry for imagining all that
01:11:51 --> 01:12:08 [UNKNOWN]: I'm just going to point out that there is like because the camera focuses on at one point I don't think we've talked about in the podcast yet, but people have a noticing that our mind has a brass bracelet and I think maybe one's showing up on Daniel now too and I think the ideas that his followers are wearing them.
01:12:09 --> 01:12:12 [UNKNOWN]: Are they like antenna?
01:12:13 --> 01:12:30 [UNKNOWN]: for his for his rest signal maybe it's like some insignia that they're part of his new cult or something I don't know could be so I mean this whole thing was disturbing do you sympathize with Regina can I ask you about that?
01:12:31 --> 01:12:32 [UNKNOWN]: Do I sympathize with her?
01:12:32 --> 01:12:51 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, I have this, I believe when she was like, listen, he told me that he had a friend who lost a daughter, and I certainly, she probably, I think that she was painting herself a little too innocently there, that she probably knew there was something a little more nefarious there.
01:12:51 --> 01:12:57 [UNKNOWN]: But I do believe her, she was like, I didn't think he was going to separate your head from your body and torture us all.
01:12:58 --> 01:13:00 [UNKNOWN]: that's that's a fair assumption to not jump to.
01:13:01 --> 01:13:08 [UNKNOWN]: And yeah, I mean, you know, if you say to somebody like, oh, they lost their daughter, you really think it's going to help to see somebody who looks like her.
01:13:10 --> 01:13:11 [UNKNOWN]: Why, why would you think that?
01:13:13 --> 01:13:22 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, I guess it's like people who do people get, um, AI chat bots that are modeled after someone they lost.
01:13:22 --> 01:13:23 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, that one really well in black mirror.
01:13:24 --> 01:13:32 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, okay, I mean, that is, but it is a thing that I think a lot of people find comforting.
01:13:33 --> 01:13:34 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:13:34 --> 01:13:50 [UNKNOWN]: I was creepy that he, and of course, he used facial recognition software to find just the right candidate who also, you know, financially had financial needs, you know, then he called her scammer or grifter, whatever, but so had a certain moral flexibility.
01:13:51 --> 01:14:02 [UNKNOWN]: but still he said it took her a year to convince her to do it and obviously money and he sponsored her visa to New York and everything.
01:14:03 --> 01:14:11 [UNKNOWN]: But I find it interesting that he said she crossed Louise Path 19 times in New York City before he noticed her.
01:14:12 --> 01:14:15 [UNKNOWN]: So I think that's a commentary on Louise self-centeredness.
01:14:15 --> 01:14:17 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, well absolutely.
01:14:18 --> 01:14:22 [UNKNOWN]: He is, he is certainly very in his own head.
01:14:23 --> 01:14:24 [UNKNOWN]: Mm-hmm.
01:14:25 --> 01:14:25 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:14:28 --> 01:14:30 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, um, I mean, I think...
01:14:32 --> 01:14:54 [UNKNOWN]: It's interesting now to watch, at the same time, season one, the formation of his relationship with the Stod and this also dissection of both his relationship with the Stod and his relationship with our mom and see that the pattern with Louis is that he holds people at arms length, like in the
01:14:58 --> 01:15:20 [UNKNOWN]: of the entire show, when the start comes and has dinner with his family, the start, you know, Paul has upset the start and the start claps back at him and basically tell drop some truths about growing up in an abusive household and and Louie just interrupts it because he
01:15:23 --> 01:15:25 [UNKNOWN]: But then that's the same thing like here.
01:15:25 --> 01:15:32 [UNKNOWN]: Our mom has took Louis in season two to the museum, told him his sub story and Louis knew that.
01:15:32 --> 01:15:36 [UNKNOWN]: But in both cases, he doesn't want to dig deeper.
01:15:36 --> 01:15:47 [UNKNOWN]: He because he wants to, as he says, I build the house on the lie of happiness to just not pick at that scape as I put it earlier.
01:15:47 --> 01:15:51 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, Louis is very good at rewriting his own story.
01:15:52 --> 01:15:55 [UNKNOWN]: and not just for the world, but for himself.
01:15:56 --> 01:15:59 [UNKNOWN]: And I think he's only realizing that now after this Claudia incident.
01:15:59 --> 01:16:03 [UNKNOWN]: Well, of course Daniel Maloy was the first tricker of that, right?
01:16:03 --> 01:16:05 [UNKNOWN]: Of like, hey, you just lied to yourself for 77 years.
01:16:07 --> 01:16:24 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, yeah, and and Louis wanted that, but that's why he invited Daniel there because he knew Daniel was going to and now we know that he not only Wanted Daniel to like pick it as a relationship with our mom, but he knew that Daniel was the one that our mom was obsessed with that whole time.
01:16:26 --> 01:16:27 [UNKNOWN]: Yep.
01:16:27 --> 01:16:30 [UNKNOWN]: So all these vampires need so much therapy.
01:16:32 --> 01:16:35 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, we're going to get Nicole from nevermind the music to watch this.
01:16:35 --> 01:16:35 [UNKNOWN]: I need to.
01:16:36 --> 01:16:39 [UNKNOWN]: What's our entire diagnosis of vampires?
01:16:40 --> 01:16:47 [UNKNOWN]: But we hear like that Louie has, while they were together, and we knew this already, that he was chasing boys.
01:16:47 --> 01:16:58 [UNKNOWN]: And, and our mom is faining resentment, but he, he says, I welcome your strength, your guilt in their aftermath, bound you to me all the more tightly.
01:16:59 --> 01:17:01 [UNKNOWN]: And of course, unallowed him the time to go after Daniel.
01:17:02 --> 01:17:02 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
01:17:04 --> 01:17:08 [UNKNOWN]: So he knew, Louie knew about the Daniel stalking.
01:17:09 --> 01:17:12 [UNKNOWN]: But then probably, I brought this up about the dinner conversation.
01:17:12 --> 01:17:21 [UNKNOWN]: He's probably just too self-centered to realize that Daniel was hinting that might have been a violation of his privacy
01:17:30 --> 01:17:35 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, um, Daniel, I think that Daniel also doesn't have boundaries.
01:17:35 --> 01:17:37 [UNKNOWN]: And maybe that's a learned behavior as well.
01:17:37 --> 01:17:40 [UNKNOWN]: All these abuse victims are learning from their abusers aren't they?
01:17:40 --> 01:17:41 [UNKNOWN]: Hmm.
01:17:43 --> 01:17:45 [UNKNOWN]: Like Daniel's going into people's heads where he shouldn't.
01:17:45 --> 01:17:48 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I mean, he's also learning that, yeah, from among two.
01:17:49 --> 01:17:57 [UNKNOWN]: And that's a thing, like you know I'm a devil's minion chipper, but people are upset that their relationship hasn't gone further this season.
01:17:57 --> 01:18:00 [UNKNOWN]: I'll say first of all, that is a next book thing.
01:18:00 --> 01:18:07 [UNKNOWN]: So we actually, we've got a head start going on, but our mom and Daniel had some dark beginnings.
01:18:08 --> 01:18:10 [UNKNOWN]: And you know, they,
01:18:12 --> 01:18:25 [UNKNOWN]: These are not two people who should be in a happy place at this point because their relationship at this point is based on 50 years of stalking and probably a little mind control right now.
01:18:26 --> 01:18:27 [UNKNOWN]: And a force turning.
01:18:39 --> 01:18:39 [UNKNOWN]: Hmm.
01:18:40 --> 01:18:42 [UNKNOWN]: And how many people does he have mine controlled?
01:18:42 --> 01:18:44 [UNKNOWN]: We have 10 humans coming to the show.
01:18:45 --> 01:18:47 [UNKNOWN]: How many of them are our monitors?
01:18:47 --> 01:18:50 [UNKNOWN]: He said that he has a group of about 100, right?
01:18:50 --> 01:18:50 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, okay.
01:18:50 --> 01:18:51 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
01:18:51 --> 01:18:54 [UNKNOWN]: So that's not that many, actually.
01:18:54 --> 01:18:55 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:18:56 --> 01:18:56 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:18:56 --> 01:18:57 [UNKNOWN]: Far fewer.
01:18:57 --> 01:19:00 [UNKNOWN]: And obviously the telemaska doesn't seem to be on his side.
01:19:01 --> 01:19:10 [UNKNOWN]: No, the telemask is not on his side and we have to talk about where the telemask is and all this because they seem to be on some side, but I don't know who's.
01:19:12 --> 01:19:14 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:19:16 --> 01:19:18 [UNKNOWN]: Sorry, my girlfriend said, sorry.
01:19:18 --> 01:19:18 [UNKNOWN]: No worries.
01:19:32 --> 01:19:37 [UNKNOWN]: So, um, what do you think about Armand saying to Louie?
01:19:37 --> 01:19:42 [UNKNOWN]: I told you I loved you, but did I, or was it a clinging to the underside of anyone who would help me survive?
01:19:42 --> 01:19:50 [UNKNOWN]: Which I think Armand is correctly diagnosing himself here as someone who clings to someone else for an identity.
01:19:50 --> 01:19:52 [UNKNOWN]: But do you think he really didn't love Louie?
01:19:56 --> 01:19:57 [UNKNOWN]: No, I don't think he loved Louis.
01:19:57 --> 01:20:01 [UNKNOWN]: I think he liked the idea of Louis and I think he felt, you know, he talked about the guilt.
01:20:02 --> 01:20:06 [UNKNOWN]: Louis's guilt pulling him closer to Armand, but I think the opposite was true too.
01:20:06 --> 01:20:07 [UNKNOWN]: They were both pulled together by guilt.
01:20:09 --> 01:20:30 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, that whole thing about him saying, he said he listened in on the a say on with Claudia and he knew that that was the way to hurt Louis basically, but he also said to Louis, you were my Claudia, which I'm like, does that mean that Louis was his band-aid that Louis was a source of his greatest guilt or both?
01:20:33 --> 01:20:41 [UNKNOWN]: I think both, like Louis is the consolation prize for what was a failure to call back to the themes of the episode, right?
01:20:42 --> 01:20:48 [UNKNOWN]: He was supposed to be asleep cleaning so that he could regain control over the Paris
01:20:59 --> 01:21:05 [UNKNOWN]: Louis under the torture of Lestat and I do think that it was torture.
01:21:05 --> 01:21:06 [UNKNOWN]: I think Lestat was right.
01:21:06 --> 01:21:08 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, I think it was partially kind of, it's impartially torture for our mind.
01:21:09 --> 01:21:12 [UNKNOWN]: It can be kind to Louis in torture for our mind.
01:21:12 --> 01:21:14 [UNKNOWN]: Sure.
01:21:14 --> 01:21:17 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I think that he is both the source of the guilt and the bomb.
01:21:18 --> 01:21:23 [UNKNOWN]: And I think that's the same thing that Claudia, again, he says, Louis is my Claudia.
01:21:23 --> 01:21:24 [UNKNOWN]: I think it's the exact same thing.
01:21:24 --> 01:21:26 [UNKNOWN]: Right, Louis feels guilty about what happened with Claudia.
01:21:29 --> 01:21:30 [UNKNOWN]: as the ball.
01:21:32 --> 01:21:47 [UNKNOWN]: It is interesting that I feel like Regina was there because our mom knew that that was the way to get Louis to because Louis was just going to be like Lala, nothing until he brought out Regina.
01:21:47 --> 01:21:53 [UNKNOWN]: But it's interesting, he had this other random guy in the room Nelson who he tells to rest and so basically he kills himself.
01:21:56 --> 01:22:18 [UNKNOWN]: And I think, yeah, that was because he never intended to kill Regina, not because he cares about Regina, but because he knows how much that would hurt Louie, like you just noticed when he tells her to rest, it goes slow, it doesn't happen, and then she cuts her wrist sideways, which is not the most lethal way, and then, you know, he was just, she was there.
01:22:19 --> 01:22:24 [UNKNOWN]: to to mess with Louis to push Louis, but he never wanted to cross that ultimate line.
01:22:25 --> 01:22:40 [UNKNOWN]: So I think maybe he didn't love Louis the way Louis and Lestat love each other, but I think he does, yeah, I have a protective love of toward him in a way, you know.
01:22:40 --> 01:22:43 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I, I, it's almost possessive though, isn't it?
01:22:44 --> 01:22:46 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know if it's actually,
01:22:47 --> 01:22:54 [UNKNOWN]: Um, you know, I don't know if it's actually protective, I think it's possessive.
01:22:54 --> 01:22:56 [UNKNOWN]: It's protective in that, uh, don't touch my stuff.
01:22:57 --> 01:22:58 [UNKNOWN]: Mm-hmm.
01:22:59 --> 01:23:00 [UNKNOWN]: Don't touch my boy toy.
01:23:02 --> 01:23:02 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:23:04 --> 01:23:06 [UNKNOWN]: I just have no sympathy for a month.
01:23:06 --> 01:23:07 [UNKNOWN]: You can't make me Alicia.
01:23:07 --> 01:23:09 [UNKNOWN]: I just can't, I can't do it.
01:23:09 --> 01:23:10 [UNKNOWN]: It's all right.
01:23:10 --> 01:23:13 [UNKNOWN]: I will represent all the, I don't know.
01:23:13 --> 01:23:15 [UNKNOWN]: Do we have a name for the amount fandom?
01:23:17 --> 01:23:21 [UNKNOWN]: But yeah, I think that he never wanted to hurt Louis.
01:23:21 --> 01:23:22 [UNKNOWN]: Can we agree on that?
01:23:22 --> 01:23:25 [UNKNOWN]: Like because it Louis even says the one point just killed me.
01:23:25 --> 01:23:26 [UNKNOWN]: And our mom's like, no, no, no, no.
01:23:26 --> 01:23:29 [UNKNOWN]: You're gonna make your amendments so we can both get on with our lives.
01:23:32 --> 01:23:37 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, yeah, I do think he wanted to hurt Louis emotionally.
01:23:38 --> 01:23:52 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, yeah, but he didn't want him to die or he didn't want and he didn't want to like if he killed Regina that would be another forever stain on Louis soul that might cause him to try to off himself again.
01:23:54 --> 01:23:54 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:23:55 --> 01:23:56 [UNKNOWN]: No, I think that's right.
01:23:56 --> 01:24:03 [UNKNOWN]: I, yeah, he is just, he's his own worst enemy Armand and that's why I don't like him.
01:24:04 --> 01:24:08 [UNKNOWN]: He keeps adding guilt stains to his own life, right?
01:24:08 --> 01:24:12 [UNKNOWN]: Like he keeps adding his own reasons to hate himself and then he's blaming everybody else for it.
01:24:13 --> 01:24:13 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:24:14 --> 01:24:14 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:24:15 --> 01:24:16 [UNKNOWN]: He's got problems.
01:24:16 --> 01:24:16 [UNKNOWN]: Yep.
01:24:17 --> 01:24:18 [UNKNOWN]: One hundred percent.
01:24:19 --> 01:24:26 [UNKNOWN]: I loved though his impression of his Assad this month is really good at accents.
01:24:26 --> 01:24:29 [UNKNOWN]: He did a great impression of Regina.
01:24:31 --> 01:24:52 [UNKNOWN]: but also I had to laugh because I saw behind the scenes, I guess it was the like inside the episode or whatever that the place after the episode where Delaney Hills was saying the first time when she screams in response to Louis severed head, it was kind of an authentic screen because she didn't expect an animatronic head in front of her.
01:24:54 --> 01:24:55 [UNKNOWN]: That's so funny.
01:24:55 --> 01:24:57 [UNKNOWN]: Oh man, that's not nice to her.
01:25:00 --> 01:25:02 [UNKNOWN]: That was not nice.
01:25:02 --> 01:25:02 [UNKNOWN]: Mm-hmm.
01:25:04 --> 01:25:07 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, but the Fredstein's, did we want to talk about that more?
01:25:07 --> 01:25:09 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, the Fredstein's.
01:25:09 --> 01:25:12 [UNKNOWN]: I didn't know what that was and you did, so, uh, what is it?
01:25:13 --> 01:25:31 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, yeah, you said you remembered the scene, but basically it was that scene where I, you know, that I always thought there was an interesting parallel between Louis and Nikki where they could appreciate certain art more than they felt able to create it in transcendent ways themselves.
01:25:32 --> 01:25:40 [UNKNOWN]: and Louie kind of gave up on the photography thing because he's like, well, I just don't, you know, I have the eye to recognize it more than the eye to create it.
01:25:41 --> 01:25:49 [UNKNOWN]: And so he got so upset when these Fred Stein photographs were in his portfolio and Daniel holds one up.
01:25:49 --> 01:25:50 [UNKNOWN]: He's like, oh, this one's good.
01:25:50 --> 01:25:52 [UNKNOWN]: He's like, I didn't take that picture.
01:25:52 --> 01:25:54 [UNKNOWN]: And he likes.
01:25:54 --> 01:25:56 [UNKNOWN]: Now I remember, yeah, and he described it.
01:25:56 --> 01:25:56 [UNKNOWN]: It's so funny.
01:25:57 --> 01:25:59 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, and he's like snaps at our mom.
01:25:59 --> 01:26:01 [UNKNOWN]: And now our mom's like, yes, I did it to mess with you.
01:26:01 --> 01:26:05 [UNKNOWN]: But again, like he's his own worst enemy.
01:26:06 --> 01:26:11 [UNKNOWN]: But he said he said, I think I might be a room without walls, floor, a ceiling and infinite nothing.
01:26:11 --> 01:26:15 [UNKNOWN]: And so he just feels so unstructured that he's always looking toward.
01:26:16 --> 01:26:28 [UNKNOWN]: You know, when he was thrust into being the head of this cult and to being the mate of the Teatro de Vampier, it gives him a structure, I'll call it synonymous, gave him a structure.
01:26:31 --> 01:26:40 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I think that's constantly what he's looking for is, I mean, I suppose we're all looking for a purpose.
01:26:42 --> 01:26:44 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, we are all looking for a purpose and
01:26:45 --> 01:26:48 [UNKNOWN]: Our moms is clearly to cause misarray to all the other vampires.
01:26:52 --> 01:26:54 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, well, okay, about for read.
01:26:55 --> 01:27:06 [UNKNOWN]: One thing we didn't mention, an off-hand line, he said this entire study or whatever, was being live cast to a very important room gathered in Budapest.
01:27:07 --> 01:27:17 [UNKNOWN]: It's this, the Talamaska, is this, I'm wondering, I'm gonna name drop another, a couple other characters we have met on screen yet.
01:27:17 --> 01:27:25 [UNKNOWN]: Seth, I mentioned, I guess in an inside the coffin is the biological and son and fledgling of Akasha.
01:27:26 --> 01:27:30 [UNKNOWN]: Another Akasha fledgling, Gregory Death Collingsworth.
01:27:30 --> 01:27:33 [UNKNOWN]: Those are two characters who get very involved
01:27:38 --> 01:27:40 [UNKNOWN]: So, I'm wondering, like, is there a gathering of vampires like that?
01:27:40 --> 01:27:42 [UNKNOWN]: Is it the top Moscow, is it people together?
01:27:43 --> 01:27:47 [UNKNOWN]: Who is watching this experiment?
01:27:49 --> 01:27:50 [UNKNOWN]: That's a great question.
01:27:51 --> 01:27:52 [UNKNOWN]: Who is watching the experiment?
01:27:52 --> 01:27:53 [UNKNOWN]: Is it all the other vampires?
01:27:53 --> 01:27:56 [UNKNOWN]: Are people, are humans allowed to watch this?
01:27:56 --> 01:28:01 [UNKNOWN]: Because that would be very, um, let's ante, anti, five laws, Armand?
01:28:02 --> 01:28:04 [UNKNOWN]: Well, yeah, I mean, I guess not.
01:28:06 --> 01:28:16 [UNKNOWN]: But although the telomask of Raglan James said later that there was a meeting at the G summit called let the vampires graze or whatever, they make more, make more.
01:28:18 --> 01:28:22 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, make more, hmm, who gave him that idea?
01:28:25 --> 01:28:27 [UNKNOWN]: apparently the telemapska.
01:28:27 --> 01:28:27 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know.
01:28:28 --> 01:28:35 [UNKNOWN]: So I love that they've brought freed into the story and then I am excited to see more of that and I think it's really interesting.
01:28:35 --> 01:28:41 [UNKNOWN]: He will say he was not here and if you reconsider your amendments and survive, you most probably won't remember him.
01:28:41 --> 01:28:45 [UNKNOWN]: So did Armand White his memory clean a freed?
01:28:46 --> 01:28:48 [UNKNOWN]: No, he can't of because Louis must
01:28:52 --> 01:28:53 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, exactly.
01:28:53 --> 01:29:05 [UNKNOWN]: Like, how would he, I mean, I think that if Louie woke up with the next car and no memories, I'm pretty sure he would assume it's our month, you know what I mean?
01:29:05 --> 01:29:06 [UNKNOWN]: And and our endless thought.
01:29:07 --> 01:29:08 [UNKNOWN]: Well, let's start has a lot more enemies.
01:29:13 --> 01:29:13 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:29:14 --> 01:29:15 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know.
01:29:16 --> 01:29:19 [UNKNOWN]: Um, I'm just, yeah, I can't imagine.
01:29:19 --> 01:29:23 [UNKNOWN]: I'm so glad we're probably getting the next season because I can't imagine if they had had to.
01:29:23 --> 01:29:25 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, that would be horrendous.
01:29:25 --> 01:29:27 [UNKNOWN]: This is such a, this is not an ending.
01:29:28 --> 01:29:29 [UNKNOWN]: It's only just beginning.
01:29:31 --> 01:29:32 [UNKNOWN]: How cruel was it?
01:29:32 --> 01:29:45 [UNKNOWN]: Like, do you applaud or do you reprimand Louis for his final note where he said, uh, uh, he was sorry for kissing him in front of Lestot, but for never for you for him.
01:29:48 --> 01:29:58 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, it was honest, and it got him to, it was part of what God, our mind to finally shut down, hmm.
01:29:59 --> 01:30:07 [UNKNOWN]: Maybe, yeah, maybe he just needed, it's like Nikki was saying, I just wanted you to say that you were never going to love me that way.
01:30:08 --> 01:30:15 [UNKNOWN]: And our mind, I mean, sorry, and Louie finally says, like, because Louie hasn't said, I love you to anyone since his brother killed himself.
01:30:16 --> 01:30:18 [UNKNOWN]: Those are the last person we saw him say, I love you too.
01:30:19 --> 01:30:20 [UNKNOWN]: And now he's saying love of my life is him.
01:30:21 --> 01:30:33 [UNKNOWN]: even now still thinking about him, but I think the thing that really turned it was he made our monfiel scene when he said, you know, like I've got lies to account for lies to myself to others.
01:30:34 --> 01:30:39 [UNKNOWN]: I know what it's like to build a house like a theater on top of a lie to live with a lie so fully might as well be true.
01:30:40 --> 01:30:43 [UNKNOWN]: And then, you know, he says that he wasn't a straight man, a good
01:30:47 --> 01:31:06 [UNKNOWN]: And then I think the thing where our mom stops repeating the things he's telepathically telling him because he's dying is when he really makes our mom feel seen in a way where our mom is like, I was wallpaper and you're pretty do by apartment and he's like, no, I knew who you were.
01:31:06 --> 01:31:11 [UNKNOWN]: I knew which you went through, did you result and who you're sold by and what you were
01:31:16 --> 01:31:42 [UNKNOWN]: Louis was someone who was selling other people's flesh and our mind was someone who had his flesh sold against his will and they they've talked about it in interviews these two actors but this is this is something that you know and affected their relationship unconsciously they just fell into those roles and Louis was the dominant one over our mind because of it
01:31:47 --> 01:31:48 [UNKNOWN]: It is really messed up.
01:31:49 --> 01:31:50 [UNKNOWN]: It's absolutely messed up.
01:31:50 --> 01:31:52 [UNKNOWN]: This whole thing is just horrendous.
01:31:55 --> 01:32:00 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, he says, I do want to picture you a 12, a 12, a 12, scared poor boy or room.
01:32:01 --> 01:32:03 [UNKNOWN]: You need a love that'll cradle you.
01:32:03 --> 01:32:05 [UNKNOWN]: You should have that and I was never that for you.
01:32:06 --> 01:32:10 [UNKNOWN]: And he says, my my coldness, my denial drove you to this.
01:32:11 --> 01:32:14 [UNKNOWN]: I think the key is he says, I saw good in you for a while.
01:32:16 --> 01:32:18 [UNKNOWN]: So, I don't know.
01:32:18 --> 01:32:20 [UNKNOWN]: What do you think is going on with our mom and Daniel?
01:32:20 --> 01:32:23 [UNKNOWN]: He used the word companion here, and do you think that's a love that will cradle him?
01:32:26 --> 01:32:26 [UNKNOWN]: No, I do not.
01:32:27 --> 01:32:29 [UNKNOWN]: I don't think Daniel has ever cradled anything in my life.
01:32:30 --> 01:32:32 [UNKNOWN]: Except maybe a bottle.
01:32:33 --> 01:32:35 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, yeah.
01:32:35 --> 01:32:37 [UNKNOWN]: He, I mean, look at this relationship with this children.
01:32:38 --> 01:32:39 [UNKNOWN]: I don't think he's a very nurturing soul.
01:32:39 --> 01:32:40 [UNKNOWN]: Mm-hmm.
01:32:41 --> 01:32:44 [UNKNOWN]: I just don't, I don't think that this is a healthy couple.
01:32:46 --> 01:32:48 [UNKNOWN]: No, not it's certainly not at this point.
01:32:48 --> 01:32:58 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, and that's broken people and neither of them have flaws that like, you know, you're not looking for a perfect partner, but you're looking you're looking for one whose flaws and your flaws can compliment each other.
01:32:59 --> 01:33:01 [UNKNOWN]: That is not the case with a couple.
01:33:01 --> 01:33:05 [UNKNOWN]: These are just two very toxic men in different ways that go badly together.
01:33:06 --> 01:33:08 [UNKNOWN]: When they get together, they start severing heads.
01:33:08 --> 01:33:08 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, come on.
01:33:10 --> 01:33:27 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, I do wonder if that I wonder how much of Daniel's increasing turn toward darkness is influenced by a his transferational trauma, b listot's bullying, c are
01:33:39 --> 01:33:50 [UNKNOWN]: But Amanda's, you know, at this point, he heals Regina, tells her bad things having a girlies who talk and she leaves her free to run, and then leaves, but without just one more petty thing.
01:33:50 --> 01:33:52 [UNKNOWN]: He has to carve an A in Louis' chest.
01:33:54 --> 01:33:59 [UNKNOWN]: I don't think, I don't, if by their rules, I don't know that the A should stay.
01:33:59 --> 01:34:05 [UNKNOWN]: Like, I don't know that I feel like that should heal, but I don't know if the next
01:34:07 --> 01:34:09 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I don't know.
01:34:10 --> 01:34:11 [UNKNOWN]: The A is pretty brutal.
01:34:12 --> 01:34:13 [UNKNOWN]: I feel like that was unnecessary.
01:34:15 --> 01:34:18 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, if it doesn't stay there, it's fine.
01:34:19 --> 01:34:21 [UNKNOWN]: It's just the last petty thing as he walked out the door.
01:34:21 --> 01:34:22 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:34:22 --> 01:34:23 [UNKNOWN]: That's the thing.
01:34:23 --> 01:34:26 [UNKNOWN]: It's like, you just start to root for him a little bit.
01:34:26 --> 01:34:27 [UNKNOWN]: Like, all right, you made the right decision.
01:34:28 --> 01:34:28 [UNKNOWN]: We're moving out.
01:34:29 --> 01:34:31 [UNKNOWN]: And then he does something like that.
01:34:31 --> 01:34:32 [UNKNOWN]: And I'm like, God, I hate this guy.
01:34:35 --> 01:34:38 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, no, no, I mean, Can't get her away with it.
01:34:39 --> 01:34:43 [UNKNOWN]: No, we say, who's an Armand fan will just say, like, yeah, she did it.
01:34:46 --> 01:34:50 [UNKNOWN]: That the point is not that this is a good person.
01:34:50 --> 01:34:57 [UNKNOWN]: It's that, you know, he's talking all the time about Daniel being the fascinating boy, because Louie said he's a fascinating boy.
01:34:57 --> 01:35:00 [UNKNOWN]: And like, no, Armand is the fascinating boy in this story.
01:35:02 --> 01:35:24 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't
01:35:25 --> 01:35:33 [UNKNOWN]: The telemaska wants a great conversion to happen apparently, and Rashid is across town at the butcher shop when it opens.
01:35:33 --> 01:35:35 [UNKNOWN]: Why didn't we see Rashid?
01:35:35 --> 01:35:40 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, I guess he was there to, I guess, why was he waiting outside?
01:35:40 --> 01:35:42 [UNKNOWN]: Why didn't we see him later?
01:35:43 --> 01:35:45 [UNKNOWN]: Could he even help for he didn't anyway?
01:35:45 --> 01:35:51 [UNKNOWN]: I bet she was more like, the actor was busy that day.
01:35:51 --> 01:35:53 [UNKNOWN]: And they were like, I wouldn't even.
01:35:56 --> 01:35:56 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:35:57 --> 01:35:58 [UNKNOWN]: I wonder, is he recurring?
01:35:58 --> 01:36:00 [UNKNOWN]: Do they want to keep him under an episode cap?
01:36:01 --> 01:36:02 [UNKNOWN]: Rashid.
01:36:03 --> 01:36:04 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, maybe for this season.
01:36:04 --> 01:36:04 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:36:04 --> 01:36:11 [UNKNOWN]: I suppose it's, um, we'll talk about it in inside the coffin, but I've thought to about where this character might go.
01:36:11 --> 01:36:11 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
01:36:12 --> 01:36:12 [UNKNOWN]: All right.
01:36:14 --> 01:36:38 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, so Daniel's pretty offensive here and people pointed out that like Daniel's been kind of offensive from the beginning There were some comments that were pretty problematic the season that I don't think we touched on a lot Um, I think that's just part of the character like he's like a problematic boomer dude He's just kind of an asshole Yeah, but it's interesting.
01:36:39 --> 01:36:40 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, so he's calling.
01:36:40 --> 01:36:43 [UNKNOWN]: I guess you're saying because he's calling Alex Autistic
01:36:44 --> 01:36:45 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:36:46 --> 01:36:49 [UNKNOWN]: And, but I mean, I just have so many questions.
01:36:49 --> 01:36:51 [UNKNOWN]: Why is Alex suddenly barely speaking?
01:36:51 --> 01:36:54 [UNKNOWN]: Why is he still wearing this literal mask around?
01:36:54 --> 01:36:56 [UNKNOWN]: Like, he's literally masking something.
01:36:57 --> 01:37:01 [UNKNOWN]: And the other interesting thing that came up, they're bowling names.
01:37:01 --> 01:37:15 [UNKNOWN]: So I mentioned the whole thing that at one point, when Dan y'all is venting at the study, says, I find myself on my day walking, y'all are a manther phase, which, so y'all is like, I'm sorry if I'm saying this wrong.
01:37:16 --> 01:37:20 [UNKNOWN]: Um, but it's like a man, men loves men manga thing.
01:37:20 --> 01:37:20 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
01:37:21 --> 01:37:23 [UNKNOWN]: Manfer is like a male cougar.
01:37:23 --> 01:37:29 [UNKNOWN]: So, it's so, when is it the Omegaverse that let's start that, uh, Sam, where you learned about?
01:37:29 --> 01:37:31 [UNKNOWN]: I, yeah.
01:37:31 --> 01:37:38 [UNKNOWN]: Um, I don't really know what the Omegaverse is really, but it's something is definitely a fandom shipping thing.
01:37:38 --> 01:37:40 [UNKNOWN]: I believe it's, it's where they basically like rank.
01:37:42 --> 01:37:45 [UNKNOWN]: men and I don't think it's men and I think it's the characters.
01:37:45 --> 01:37:58 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I think it's about the nature of their sexual relationship, but I don't I think this is something different because this is just specifically about a certain subbrand of Japanese manga, but I don't know.
01:37:59 --> 01:38:01 [UNKNOWN]: I'm not cool enough to know these nuances.
01:38:03 --> 01:38:15 [UNKNOWN]: But the bowling names, um, so we have, we have Daniel going by Manther on the bowling score, and Alex going by Boo Radley.
01:38:15 --> 01:38:17 [UNKNOWN]: Did you ever read or watch to kill him mockingbird?
01:38:20 --> 01:38:21 [UNKNOWN]: Uh, I did read it.
01:38:22 --> 01:38:24 [UNKNOWN]: I have not watched it, but yes, I know Boo Radley.
01:38:25 --> 01:38:25 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
01:38:26 --> 01:38:37 [UNKNOWN]: So for anyone who doesn't, basically he was the neighbor of them, main character kids, and he is kind of autistic coded in a way, but he's
01:38:38 --> 01:39:07 [UNKNOWN]: He's someone who people make judgments about and assume that there's something like that he's dangerous Basically, but then he ultimately ends up acting as a guardian angel to the main children in that story And the arc of their their story arc is learning empathy for him and thus learning empathy in general Do you see something about that in what might be going on with Alex right now?
01:39:10 --> 01:39:15 [UNKNOWN]: I could see that, I mean, he seems to be locked inside his own head.
01:39:15 --> 01:39:18 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know if it's willing that he's barely speaking.
01:39:18 --> 01:39:35 [UNKNOWN]: I feel like he's despondent over the loss of his brother, and perhaps having learned, having had that grief just after his transformation, may have messed with that transformation a bit, and shaped his vampiric personality more than it would have at another time.
01:39:36 --> 01:39:47 [UNKNOWN]: Well, it's also, I mean, I assume that Armand had a certain level of control over him, but then it seems like in this scene, he's kind of rebelling against what Armand wants.
01:39:47 --> 01:39:48 [UNKNOWN]: He's like, I want to play the show.
01:39:51 --> 01:39:52 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:39:52 --> 01:39:53 [UNKNOWN]: No, yeah.
01:39:53 --> 01:39:56 [UNKNOWN]: I do think, I see, this is why I don't know.
01:39:56 --> 01:39:57 [UNKNOWN]: Like, was he working with the telemasca?
01:39:59 --> 01:40:01 [UNKNOWN]: Was he like trying to get out of the show?
01:40:01 --> 01:40:01 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, but I think.
01:40:02 --> 01:40:02 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:40:02 --> 01:40:03 [UNKNOWN]: That's my question, too.
01:40:05 --> 01:40:09 [UNKNOWN]: with Alex and informant like was he like, yeah, I'll help you sever some heads and hide.
01:40:09 --> 01:40:11 [UNKNOWN]: I'm telling me the whole plan first.
01:40:11 --> 01:40:13 [UNKNOWN]: And then at what point?
01:40:13 --> 01:40:20 [UNKNOWN]: Because I do believe when he first met Armand at the AA, I don't think he knew who Armand was.
01:40:22 --> 01:40:29 [UNKNOWN]: I felt like it looks like he had some sort of revelation when listock called him out at the concert and they did the big
01:40:30 --> 01:40:48 [UNKNOWN]: They're focusing on Alex responding to that and I couldn't really tell like is he just realizing who this is or is he like feeling upset for him or I don't know it was tough to read So I feel like this is something next season where we're gonna get like meanwhile in Alex land here's all the things that happened.
01:40:49 --> 01:40:53 [UNKNOWN]: Oh my god the vampire Alex book Yeah Jesus
01:40:55 --> 01:41:00 [UNKNOWN]: I think are they just going to have infinite seasons where we re-explore the story from one character's perspective.
01:41:01 --> 01:41:03 [UNKNOWN]: Keep going as long as you can, please.
01:41:05 --> 01:41:07 [UNKNOWN]: And speed it up to 78, it will be done.
01:41:07 --> 01:41:13 [UNKNOWN]: Keep speed it up as much as, you know, the casting crew can handle it.
01:41:13 --> 01:41:13 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
01:41:14 --> 01:41:33 [UNKNOWN]: It was, so another thing I noticed just rewatching season one is that let's dot says to Louis, shortly after turning him, Louis asks him how many of us are there, and let's dot says, oh, only about a hundred or a hundred and one, you know, referencing Louis, so that was in like the 1910s.
01:41:35 --> 01:41:42 [UNKNOWN]: And then Raglan says three years ago when he met Daniel, there were 1600 by then.
01:41:42 --> 01:41:47 [UNKNOWN]: So that's a lot over, you know, just barely over a century.
01:41:47 --> 01:41:53 [UNKNOWN]: And now three years later, there's two hundred and ninety thousand of them.
01:41:54 --> 01:41:54 [UNKNOWN]: Wow.
01:41:56 --> 01:42:20 [UNKNOWN]: you're right i'm trying to look at the world population in ninety so the world population in nineteen ten was only one point seven five billion so it is outpacing the human population but not like to crazy degree i mean this so the human population is since then like it's like triple it's like oh one point five billion right isn't it like it's one point seven five and now we're at yeah i guess i guess what's like yeah yeah yeah
01:42:22 --> 01:42:46 [UNKNOWN]: And then, yeah, and this is going, and now Ragland points out that there's people are being killed at a faster rate than babies are being born, which we finally have an answer to the telemaska TV show finale, what why the telemaska was involved in the great conversion because they want to call the human herd because of overconsumption.
01:42:53 --> 01:43:00 [UNKNOWN]: Hmm, how is the vamp going to safely graze when there's too many vampires to humans?
01:43:01 --> 01:43:14 [UNKNOWN]: So yeah, so okay, so it makes sense they want to call the human population, but then he says, he says, you know, I don't see your type, your kind governing, he says to, to Daniel.
01:43:15 --> 01:43:17 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I think that's right though.
01:43:17 --> 01:43:20 [UNKNOWN]: What was their, what's their, I mean, what's their end game?
01:43:20 --> 01:43:23 [UNKNOWN]: Like once the human population is trimmed down, then what?
01:43:24 --> 01:43:26 [UNKNOWN]: They go in a mass murder spree?
01:43:28 --> 01:43:30 [UNKNOWN]: I think they may have to physically fight.
01:43:30 --> 01:43:31 [UNKNOWN]: Ha ha ha.
01:43:32 --> 01:43:33 [UNKNOWN]: Right, just vamp, revamp.
01:43:34 --> 01:44:00 [UNKNOWN]: Louie can get like half of them if I'm not you But apparently I mean and then I guess that was that was the key we saw and then the the town massacre shows They were intentionally choosing lower level vampires to do the turning so they were like easier to fight It's like fighting 20 babies Yeah, that's fair Were you heroes fan the TV show I was I used to watch video
01:44:01 --> 01:44:09 [UNKNOWN]: Did you think that it was when Daniel says, save the head, save the planet, that that sound like a savior, if you're saved the world reference?
01:44:09 --> 01:44:12 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, I felt that to save the cheerleader, save the world.
01:44:12 --> 01:44:15 [UNKNOWN]: Oh my god, that show was a trip.
01:44:15 --> 01:44:18 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, it was great for a couple of seasons, and then it, yeah.
01:44:20 --> 01:44:21 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:44:22 --> 01:44:22 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:44:22 --> 01:44:25 [UNKNOWN]: It was really great for the first couple seasons.
01:44:25 --> 01:44:25 [UNKNOWN]: Yep.
01:44:29 --> 01:44:38 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, so I liked the surreal moments with like Daniel's venting at this bowling bag.
01:44:38 --> 01:44:47 [UNKNOWN]: And for the most time, Lestod is just completely tuning him out because he's dealing with his own existential crisis on the, on the astral plane.
01:44:47 --> 01:44:48 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, completely unaware.
01:44:49 --> 01:44:54 [UNKNOWN]: Just like, and I love that because I honestly, I feel like that is fitting for their relationship.
01:44:55 --> 01:45:03 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, yeah, until Daniel literally inserts his face into the bag and then he's just like the ceiling, which is great.
01:45:04 --> 01:45:14 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, but it was also like list that, I mean, sorry, Daniel repeating the stats name list that list that it was very Martial Martial Martial energy, but it was also didn't are
01:45:23 --> 01:45:27 [UNKNOWN]: My daughter was my, my daughter was my sister was my throw pillow.
01:45:27 --> 01:45:51 [UNKNOWN]: Well, he didn't look at me kindly, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's stop, let's
01:45:52 --> 01:45:56 [UNKNOWN]: Had you like Daniel's things?
01:45:56 --> 01:46:00 [UNKNOWN]: I want to know, well first of all, I want to know Daniel's just walking around in daylight.
01:46:00 --> 01:46:20 [UNKNOWN]: I need to know more about this day walking after they have, but I want to know what, so Raglin takes the bag, he wants the concert to happen, Alex wants it to, and then Daniel shows his fangs and we cut and we don't find out what happens.
01:46:21 --> 01:46:22 [UNKNOWN]: to Daniel after that.
01:46:22 --> 01:46:23 [UNKNOWN]: And we see Raglin.
01:46:24 --> 01:46:28 [UNKNOWN]: And I have things I'm wondering, then we're going to bring up inside the coffin.
01:46:28 --> 01:46:38 [UNKNOWN]: But what do you think happened in that interaction between Daniel flashing his fangs and Raglin and not Daniel being on the bus?
01:46:38 --> 01:46:40 [UNKNOWN]: I think they neutralized him, but they didn't kill him.
01:46:41 --> 01:46:45 [UNKNOWN]: neutralized Daniel, but then like the like took captive of him or something.
01:46:45 --> 01:46:49 [UNKNOWN]: I think the tackle woman got him to stop misbehaving.
01:46:49 --> 01:46:50 [UNKNOWN]: I don't think he's captured.
01:46:50 --> 01:46:52 [UNKNOWN]: I just think that they kind of just like knocked him out for a little bit.
01:46:53 --> 01:46:53 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
01:46:53 --> 01:46:55 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
01:46:55 --> 01:46:57 [UNKNOWN]: I was funny that Raglin was a bit antagonistic.
01:46:58 --> 01:47:02 [UNKNOWN]: He said to Alex to open with big boss, which is like very anti-armond.
01:47:03 --> 01:47:03 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:47:04 --> 01:47:29 [UNKNOWN]: but it is also interesting the wrangling was he looks at let's dot severed head head in the bag and says it's evidence of the soul's existence so it's more metaphysical stuff you know he's the fact that they persist after the separation that is interesting I mean like yeah how how would they exist without that mm-hmm you want to play a show yeah let's go to a concert
01:47:30 --> 01:47:37 [UNKNOWN]: The table pushes Lestat into hysterical laughter, leading to his life alert going off.
01:47:37 --> 01:47:40 [UNKNOWN]: He jumps onto the table and the scene turns into a concert.
01:47:41 --> 01:47:51 [UNKNOWN]: The audience is filled with his victims, including Enzo, a man whom Lestat cruelly drained in Italy, and the woman he drained in road black licorice about.
01:47:51 --> 01:47:55 [UNKNOWN]: As Lestat approaches death, Paul Spirit comforts him while wishing he were a woman.
01:47:57 --> 01:48:02 [UNKNOWN]: Um, can I also say that while writing this outline, I kept thinking about Hoover's whom because of Will stop.
01:48:02 --> 01:48:03 [UNKNOWN]: If it's not a square mark.
01:48:07 --> 01:48:12 [UNKNOWN]: Um, can they please change the name of the band to the fledgling of failure?
01:48:12 --> 01:48:14 [UNKNOWN]: The fledgling of failure is pretty good.
01:48:14 --> 01:48:15 [UNKNOWN]: That's a good name.
01:48:16 --> 01:48:16 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:48:16 --> 01:48:21 [UNKNOWN]: I thought it was interesting that Antoinette just disappeared from this final scene.
01:48:21 --> 01:48:22 [UNKNOWN]: Like, let's stop.
01:48:22 --> 01:48:24 [UNKNOWN]: Was like, we gave her her justice.
01:48:24 --> 01:48:25 [UNKNOWN]: No, I'm forgotten about her already.
01:48:26 --> 01:48:28 [UNKNOWN]: We brought her back for a scene.
01:48:28 --> 01:48:30 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:48:30 --> 01:48:31 [UNKNOWN]: She got to take notes.
01:48:31 --> 01:48:32 [UNKNOWN]: Lucky her.
01:48:33 --> 01:48:58 [UNKNOWN]: Um, there was an interesting Instagram post from set designer Andres Coupillon, uh, Soto, who, it's so this scene, this concert set up, it's on a street in Paris, but not only a street in Paris, it's the street corner, the modern version of the street corner where the stop first heard Nikki playing and first really fell in love with music.
01:49:04 --> 01:49:04 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:49:05 --> 01:49:10 [UNKNOWN]: So, I mean, it's, they must have so much fun decorating these sets.
01:49:10 --> 01:49:18 [UNKNOWN]: First of all, just all the time periods, but here he was combining 1970s Paris with 1920s, New Orleans and the present day.
01:49:20 --> 01:49:20 [UNKNOWN]: It's very cool.
01:49:21 --> 01:49:21 [UNKNOWN]: It's really cool.
01:49:22 --> 01:49:22 [UNKNOWN]: I love
01:49:23 --> 01:49:29 [UNKNOWN]: I love, you know, what drives him to fuck the final thing is your whole goddamn life, a pathetic failure.
01:49:29 --> 01:49:34 [UNKNOWN]: I think Gabriella said it, and he pivots at this immediately.
01:49:34 --> 01:49:35 [UNKNOWN]: He just can't take it anymore.
01:49:35 --> 01:49:41 [UNKNOWN]: And then, you know, speaking of history is city in these different eras, he goes, congratulations on your historical proximity to me.
01:49:42 --> 01:49:43 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, such a good line.
01:49:46 --> 01:49:48 [UNKNOWN]: A samurai is really milking all this dialogue.
01:49:48 --> 01:49:49 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:49:51 --> 01:49:57 [UNKNOWN]: Well, can I just read this one part of the Andreas Kubion sort of quote, so to explanation of the set.
01:49:58 --> 01:50:03 [UNKNOWN]: Uh, he says the gate to his house on Rue Royale now closes off the entrance to his apartment with Nikki.
01:50:04 --> 01:50:17 [UNKNOWN]: The marquee from the fair play Saloon hangs over shutter doors, period market stalls now sell band merch, the tavern where he first sat with Nikki is lit in neon and filled with his judging figures.
01:50:18 --> 01:50:30 [UNKNOWN]: The Reynolds Theatre is plastered with glowing TVL posters, and in the distance you can spot the clammidial dressing room from episode 1 where the path of destruction first begins.
01:50:30 --> 01:50:38 [UNKNOWN]: Dozens of the Vampireless Dot posters were created in different styles and ripped apart and reassembled to reflect his fractured mind.
01:50:39 --> 01:50:45 [UNKNOWN]: graffiti covered walls attacking every version of listot and so many cabbages, cabbages, cabbages,
01:50:46 --> 01:50:54 [UNKNOWN]: It need to feel needed to feel nostalgic and grotesque at the same time, and exercise and vanity collapsing before our eyes.
01:50:55 --> 01:50:57 [UNKNOWN]: You had me wanting to do the avatar of the last Airbender.
01:50:57 --> 01:50:58 [UNKNOWN]: My cabbage is.
01:50:58 --> 01:51:01 [UNKNOWN]: That's true.
01:51:02 --> 01:51:02 [UNKNOWN]: No, that's great.
01:51:03 --> 01:51:03 [UNKNOWN]: I love that.
01:51:03 --> 01:51:05 [UNKNOWN]: I love the poster detail.
01:51:05 --> 01:51:05 [UNKNOWN]: I didn't even notice that.
01:51:05 --> 01:51:08 [UNKNOWN]: And now I got to go back and re-watch this because that's awesome.
01:51:09 --> 01:51:15 [UNKNOWN]: My module one piece actually, you know, how they use the posters as like part of the character.
01:51:17 --> 01:51:21 [UNKNOWN]: Now, so let's not honoring his blood.
01:51:21 --> 01:51:27 [UNKNOWN]: He acknowledges that, is he just talking about the blood of Akasha, which he's always invoking by name?
01:51:27 --> 01:51:29 [UNKNOWN]: We didn't mean by not honoring.
01:51:29 --> 01:51:30 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, my blood.
01:51:30 --> 01:51:32 [UNKNOWN]: He said my blood, I did not always honor it.
01:51:32 --> 01:51:35 [UNKNOWN]: There was something in between that, but yeah, I think he's still talking about the blood.
01:51:36 --> 01:51:47 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, so I noticed he says something at one point about doing his vampiric duty, brought death, spread fear, fostered superstition in paranoia.
01:51:47 --> 01:51:52 [UNKNOWN]: And I just note that like these are duties that we typically associate with the devil.
01:51:52 --> 01:51:59 [UNKNOWN]: Like we are, these are motivations we think that the devil has and that you day or Christian, you know, form.
01:52:00 --> 01:52:03 [UNKNOWN]: And it also is traits his mother seemed to be looking from him.
01:52:05 --> 01:52:14 [UNKNOWN]: I, again, wonder if there's a map knocked the devil tie in with that idea, and then I had another thought on the inside the coffin about later stuff that that could link to.
01:52:16 --> 01:52:21 [UNKNOWN]: Like is that what he means by honoring his blood, does he think he needs to be evil?
01:52:23 --> 01:52:27 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I maybe, maybe that's what a kosher kind of vibe to him.
01:52:28 --> 01:52:29 [UNKNOWN]: I don't think it's a caution though.
01:52:29 --> 01:52:31 [UNKNOWN]: I think his mother's worse than a catcher.
01:52:31 --> 01:52:32 [UNKNOWN]: I think they probably could say, right?
01:52:32 --> 01:52:34 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, man.
01:52:34 --> 01:52:36 [UNKNOWN]: She's like, we have to be monsters.
01:52:36 --> 01:52:37 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, exactly.
01:52:38 --> 01:52:40 [UNKNOWN]: Because it explains me being a monster.
01:52:41 --> 01:52:41 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
01:52:42 --> 01:52:43 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, is that what it is?
01:52:43 --> 01:52:44 [UNKNOWN]: You think, I think that's right.
01:52:44 --> 01:52:46 [UNKNOWN]: Wow, you're very insightful, Laelisha.
01:52:47 --> 01:52:56 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, your old, you always are, but the idea of her sort of justifying her own existence and her own failures with her nature instead of her self.
01:52:58 --> 01:53:25 [UNKNOWN]: I loved when the start he collapsed back twice we'll talk about when he collapsed back to her in the other scene but here he says I think in the end I was pretty fucking great but if I failed then that means I actually attempted something you know you know that's like a stand up and clap bravo let's stop yeah I liked it I liked it a lot he was really he was really clapping back yeah I loved you I did his grotesque as that love appeared to you you know
01:53:26 --> 01:53:30 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, except me for who I am, but don't make me play long face.
01:53:30 --> 01:53:32 [UNKNOWN]: That's song you watch your car too.
01:53:33 --> 01:53:33 [UNKNOWN]: That was really good.
01:53:33 --> 01:53:36 [UNKNOWN]: And I was like, oh, I definitely would watch my car through.
01:53:36 --> 01:53:37 [UNKNOWN]: I'd watch, so stop watch my car.
01:53:37 --> 01:53:39 [UNKNOWN]: You know?
01:53:40 --> 01:53:41 [UNKNOWN]: When he, when he is other people, yeah.
01:53:42 --> 01:53:43 [UNKNOWN]: When he is all the people, he, uh,
01:53:45 --> 01:53:59 [UNKNOWN]: Uh, you know, his victims and traumatized people, whatever, um, did you expect to see the first about the baggage man who's, he had, he thought, oh yeah, that was a fun callback, who is a producer on the show.
01:53:59 --> 01:54:00 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, that was funny.
01:54:00 --> 01:54:05 [UNKNOWN]: Within also, I didn't expect him to say black liquor, a shower to song about you.
01:54:05 --> 01:54:11 [UNKNOWN]: So it's the guy he was down after he made up with Louis, he was right, he was telling the truth about that.
01:54:13 --> 01:54:13 [UNKNOWN]: Yep.
01:54:14 --> 01:54:25 [UNKNOWN]: But there was one other character that I was, so in the preview for the finale, I started to get obsessed with, who is this white dude in a fedora?
01:54:26 --> 01:54:32 [UNKNOWN]: And we find out, it's someone named Enzov, and I'm like, who the fuck is Enzo?
01:54:33 --> 01:54:37 [UNKNOWN]: So I'll share a theory that some people had inside the coffin, but,
01:54:38 --> 01:54:55 [UNKNOWN]: The fact that they focus so much on him, I think, is important and we find out he was drained in Vienna at the Christmas market in 1953 and we actually get like the sound of the bells fading in like this is a significant memory that's just outside of Lestot's grasp at this point.
01:54:55 --> 01:55:01 [UNKNOWN]: He says, I was in a foul mood that evening you deserved better and said he had a package
01:55:04 --> 01:55:05 [UNKNOWN]: to whom it was meant for.
01:55:05 --> 01:55:07 [UNKNOWN]: So this people think this might be a clue to who he is.
01:55:08 --> 01:55:16 [UNKNOWN]: But also, did you notice there's like these little flecks of sparkle lights swimming around his face?
01:55:18 --> 01:55:20 [UNKNOWN]: I did notice that.
01:55:20 --> 01:55:22 [UNKNOWN]: So the silver threads, is that what that is?
01:55:24 --> 01:55:25 [UNKNOWN]: I don't think so.
01:55:25 --> 01:55:36 [UNKNOWN]: I think the silver thread is there's something called like the silver cords, which is the ties of the vampires back to their source, basically.
01:55:38 --> 01:55:39 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, okay.
01:55:39 --> 01:55:41 [UNKNOWN]: And I wonder if this is something else.
01:55:41 --> 01:55:46 [UNKNOWN]: Like, or if it's even something called Laura Castria that I'll explain in the inside of the door.
01:55:46 --> 01:55:47 [UNKNOWN]: What the hell are you talking about now?
01:55:48 --> 01:55:51 [UNKNOWN]: It's a late book thing, but it's the first thing I thought of when I saw the sparkles.
01:55:52 --> 01:55:53 [UNKNOWN]: and rice.
01:55:53 --> 01:55:57 [UNKNOWN]: I I feel like I need to extend her name to like use her full first name, but I don't think there is more.
01:55:58 --> 01:55:59 [UNKNOWN]: Annabelle Rice.
01:55:59 --> 01:55:59 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:55:59 --> 01:56:00 [UNKNOWN]: Annathan Rice.
01:56:04 --> 01:56:05 [UNKNOWN]: And a trisha rice.
01:56:06 --> 01:56:10 [UNKNOWN]: Um, but will you surprise them?
01:56:10 --> 01:56:10 [UNKNOWN]: Paul showed up.
01:56:11 --> 01:56:13 [UNKNOWN]: I was surprised when Paul showed up.
01:56:13 --> 01:56:15 [UNKNOWN]: I did not expect them at all, but it was honestly a delight.
01:56:16 --> 01:56:20 [UNKNOWN]: He has a very common presence, even though I know he was a complete jerk to the May fairs.
01:56:22 --> 01:56:22 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:56:23 --> 01:56:23 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:56:24 --> 01:56:25 [UNKNOWN]: I mean he was a complete jerk to most people.
01:56:25 --> 01:56:26 [UNKNOWN]: It seems like right.
01:56:29 --> 01:56:39 [UNKNOWN]: I wonder if this is the character who Daniel Hart suggested who apparently like quote-unquote save the finale or whatever that's a role in Joan said that he saved the finale?
01:56:39 --> 01:56:47 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, it was just like someone asked Daniel Hart, oh, Roland Joan said you saved his melody, he's like, oh, I just suggested a character show up and I wonder if this is the one?
01:56:48 --> 01:56:54 [UNKNOWN]: Because to me, this and the you were 12 moment are the two finale moments that stick with me the most.
01:56:55 --> 01:57:00 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, I thought the finale was great overall, but those were both really amazing points.
01:57:01 --> 01:57:02 [UNKNOWN]: Those were really amazing, like highs.
01:57:04 --> 01:57:28 [UNKNOWN]: And you know, I mean, it's especially like that if listot's going to hear my brother loved you from anyone other than Louis, hearing it from the person who didn't want the he, you know, he says listot, I still wish you were a woman and listot says meet me too sometimes which the trans dots fans are going crazy over that.
01:57:30 --> 01:57:35 [UNKNOWN]: But you just the fact that he explains like he has a hard time saying it got that from our daddy.
01:57:35 --> 01:57:36 [UNKNOWN]: It doesn't mean he doesn't.
01:57:36 --> 01:57:37 [UNKNOWN]: That's just his way.
01:57:38 --> 01:57:50 [UNKNOWN]: Thank you for loving him the way he needs to be loved because, you know, it's just rewatching the relationship between Louis and Paul and it's antagonistic, you know, Louis pulled his cane sword and his brother.
01:57:50 --> 01:57:53 [UNKNOWN]: And that's the first thing that got let's thought interested in him.
01:57:54 --> 01:57:54 [UNKNOWN]: But.
01:57:54 --> 01:58:00 [UNKNOWN]: They did Louis, that is the last time we saw him say, I love you, tending one, and then he walked off the roof.
01:58:00 --> 01:58:07 [UNKNOWN]: So that's like also something that's keeping Louis from opening his heart fully to someone else.
01:58:07 --> 01:58:20 [UNKNOWN]: And so to have him show up and say that, I do hope that he was like an external force that stepped in rather than just a, a, a piece of the studs psyche.
01:58:22 --> 01:58:22 [UNKNOWN]: I agree.
01:58:22 --> 01:58:28 [UNKNOWN]: I almost wish though it had happened to Louis because I feel like Louis needs to be set free of this.
01:58:29 --> 01:58:31 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, maybe it will be.
01:58:33 --> 01:58:36 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, but I don't think that let's talk to be like, by the way, your brother said we're cool now.
01:58:36 --> 01:58:38 [UNKNOWN]: I was like, I don't know.
01:58:38 --> 01:58:38 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know.
01:58:38 --> 01:58:38 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know.
01:58:39 --> 01:58:39 [UNKNOWN]: I think they go over well.
01:58:40 --> 01:58:40 [UNKNOWN]: No.
01:58:40 --> 01:58:42 [UNKNOWN]: I think that was more for the studs like you.
01:58:42 --> 01:58:47 [UNKNOWN]: But it was, I mean, first of all, an external light shines down on them when they're having this conversation.
01:58:48 --> 01:58:50 [UNKNOWN]: That's one reason why I think this is something else.
01:58:51 --> 01:58:54 [UNKNOWN]: And then also, and we see Paul is still listening to the birds.
01:58:55 --> 01:58:57 [UNKNOWN]: And he says, OK, you sure about that.
01:58:57 --> 01:58:58 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, ma'am.
01:58:59 --> 01:59:04 [UNKNOWN]: and then he takes Lestot's phone and like presses a button I supposed to reset the timer and the stop wakes up.
01:59:05 --> 01:59:09 [UNKNOWN]: So I feel like this is more than a piece of Lestot's psyche.
01:59:09 --> 01:59:10 [UNKNOWN]: It's an external force.
01:59:12 --> 01:59:13 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I think that's right.
01:59:13 --> 01:59:17 [UNKNOWN]: Also, I like Paul underplaying the afterall life.
01:59:17 --> 01:59:19 [UNKNOWN]: He's like, yeah, it's not all that bad.
01:59:19 --> 01:59:20 [UNKNOWN]: You know, all that.
01:59:20 --> 01:59:21 [UNKNOWN]: It's a nice, it's correct.
01:59:21 --> 01:59:24 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I'm telling you, Mem knocked the devil is coming.
01:59:26 --> 01:59:27 [UNKNOWN]: We're going to see it.
01:59:28 --> 01:59:30 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, that this was a very emotional moment.
01:59:30 --> 01:59:32 [UNKNOWN]: And this is, this is when the show shines, right?
01:59:34 --> 01:59:34 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:59:35 --> 01:59:40 [UNKNOWN]: And oh, man, the little moment with Enzo, he had a package with the most beautiful rapping.
01:59:40 --> 01:59:42 [UNKNOWN]: I hope it got to whom it was meant for.
01:59:42 --> 01:59:48 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, yeah, I'm, what's the end of thing?
01:59:48 --> 01:59:49 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know what the end of the day is.
01:59:50 --> 01:59:52 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, but it was beautiful.
01:59:52 --> 01:59:53 [UNKNOWN]: Whatever it was, it was beautiful.
01:59:54 --> 01:59:54 [UNKNOWN]: No, yeah.
01:59:54 --> 01:59:58 [UNKNOWN]: I feel like it was just to give us an empathetic moment with Lestad, honestly.
01:59:58 --> 02:00:05 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know, they focused on it so much, and then he mentioned him again after that, and the sparkle things, I'm like, no, there's something up with that dude.
02:00:07 --> 02:00:11 [UNKNOWN]: And then they just didn't give him a name from the book to mess with us.
02:00:13 --> 02:00:14 [UNKNOWN]: You're you're tracking down the clues.
02:00:15 --> 02:00:15 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:00:16 --> 02:00:16 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:00:17 --> 02:00:19 [UNKNOWN]: The internet sluts are on it for sure.
02:00:21 --> 02:00:21 [UNKNOWN]: Yep.
02:00:22 --> 02:00:26 [UNKNOWN]: So we have one more scene, which is whenever one of the reunited.
02:00:27 --> 02:00:33 [UNKNOWN]: A stop wakes up on his stop wakes up on his door bus with himself and Louis reconnected to their bodies.
02:00:34 --> 02:00:38 [UNKNOWN]: Ragland James tells him what happened, Gabriella insists that let's stop perform.
02:00:38 --> 02:00:42 [UNKNOWN]: He refuses as the fans bang on his windows in the future.
02:00:42 --> 02:00:48 [UNKNOWN]: Let's stop pauses his recording of the failures and goes onto his balcony to look at the ruins of a city.
02:00:51 --> 02:00:53 [UNKNOWN]: So where is he?
02:00:53 --> 02:00:55 [UNKNOWN]: Is this Montreal, this Montreal apartment?
02:00:56 --> 02:01:00 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, so he's in the woods near the stage.
02:01:00 --> 02:01:16 [UNKNOWN]: They set up for this concert where apparently there's 55 people now, 45 vamps and 10 humans, which I'm like, you better hope that they listen to the make-more part and not the eat food cravings.
02:01:18 --> 02:01:23 [UNKNOWN]: So, I think this is where the fact that we didn't get the concert finale.
02:01:23 --> 02:01:25 [UNKNOWN]: I understand people being disappointed about that.
02:01:25 --> 02:01:27 [UNKNOWN]: I think this is where the budget hit hardest.
02:01:28 --> 02:01:33 [UNKNOWN]: And it is something like the concert is something that straddles both books.
02:01:34 --> 02:01:41 [UNKNOWN]: So it's not shocking to me that it didn't end with this, and I hope they can start next season with a big bang with that.
02:01:43 --> 02:01:57 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I do think it would have been kind of crazy to do a big concert and what what I think everybody knows what happens at the concert basically because they've been basically telling us all season and it's in pop in commissly kind of traffic gig.
02:01:58 --> 02:02:03 [UNKNOWN]: Right, so I just I think that's fine to have that be the beginning of next season.
02:02:03 --> 02:02:10 [UNKNOWN]: I'm not bothered by it the way I was bothered by them moving the big battle of House of the Dragon season two season three.
02:02:10 --> 02:02:10 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
02:02:11 --> 02:02:11 [UNKNOWN]: No, I agree.
02:02:12 --> 02:02:12 [UNKNOWN]: I agree.
02:02:12 --> 02:02:15 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, and I think it's because I got other emotions.
02:02:15 --> 02:02:20 [UNKNOWN]: Like this was a season that was more of an interior season.
02:02:20 --> 02:02:28 [UNKNOWN]: It's about the emotional arc of Lestad and to a lesser degree, the other vampires in his life, and I feel like
02:02:29 --> 02:02:43 [UNKNOWN]: all of well except Daniel, he's worried about Daniel, but at least the other three have shown some real signs of growth, and that doesn't mean that their growing is over definitely far from it, but we saw
02:02:44 --> 02:02:51 [UNKNOWN]: growth in characters in a nuanced but meaningful way that is rarely represented on television.
02:02:52 --> 02:02:57 [UNKNOWN]: You're right, our mononical one person in the family, which is honestly an improvement for him.
02:02:58 --> 02:03:00 [UNKNOWN]: I don't even remember his name, I mean.
02:03:02 --> 02:03:18 [UNKNOWN]: he's just a guy he's just a little vampy guy just a little gremland can't blame the little gremland for gremlanding you're reminding me of Fred Armissin in portlandia when he's like i'm just a baby i can pay you in blocks
02:03:21 --> 02:03:26 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, when we, he showed grace at the end, he never really wanted to kill Louie.
02:03:26 --> 02:03:28 [UNKNOWN]: He just doesn't handle things.
02:03:28 --> 02:03:32 [UNKNOWN]: Well, he's, yeah, he's got like 500 years of therapy to catch up on.
02:03:33 --> 02:03:34 [UNKNOWN]: He sure does.
02:03:34 --> 02:03:40 [UNKNOWN]: Well, he started with his A.A. or whatever it is, um, I'm not, you know, because A.A. is a brand.
02:03:40 --> 02:03:41 [UNKNOWN]: So we don't know what it is.
02:03:41 --> 02:03:42 [UNKNOWN]: That's probably what I didn't name it.
02:03:44 --> 02:03:48 [UNKNOWN]: Um, but yeah, no, he started, but I guess I was in manipulation tactic for Alex anyway.
02:03:49 --> 02:03:50 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I don't know.
02:03:50 --> 02:03:53 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, I feel like they're with that is the thing with our mom.
02:03:53 --> 02:04:01 [UNKNOWN]: Is there, I don't think he always even understands everything that he does, but I think that there were like, there's always like 20 different reasons.
02:04:01 --> 02:04:02 [UNKNOWN]: He does any one thing.
02:04:02 --> 02:04:05 [UNKNOWN]: And sometimes there's reasons are in conflict with each other.
02:04:06 --> 02:04:09 [UNKNOWN]: but I think it was hard in conflict with itself.
02:04:10 --> 02:04:11 [UNKNOWN]: I know, why isn't David watch the show?
02:04:11 --> 02:04:12 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:04:12 --> 02:04:15 [UNKNOWN]: But I think that they're part of it.
02:04:15 --> 02:04:18 [UNKNOWN]: He was driven to some degree by wanting to heal.
02:04:19 --> 02:04:23 [UNKNOWN]: And I think this thing he did with Louis is awful and the worst possible way to go about it.
02:04:23 --> 02:04:25 [UNKNOWN]: But it was driven
02:04:26 --> 02:04:38 [UNKNOWN]: Uh, by wanting to understand and process, he's like, how dare you throw me into a wall and are to buy apartment and then, you know, just like, fuck off back to your ex-Mora-less.
02:04:38 --> 02:04:41 [UNKNOWN]: Even though we haven't talked about Lemuel, where's Lemuel?
02:04:44 --> 02:04:47 [UNKNOWN]: Um, Lemuel is working for the telemask somewhere.
02:04:48 --> 02:04:49 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I feel like it's a...
02:04:49 --> 02:04:50 [UNKNOWN]: He's got to be an agent, right?
02:04:53 --> 02:05:00 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I feel like Ragland James was like can you just make sure Louie sees this video because we need to get this you know this conflict going
02:05:02 --> 02:05:22 [UNKNOWN]: Now, I like that, that, well, first of all, the fact that Lestot says about Ragland, so again, anyone who doesn't didn't know this yet, in episode two, we found out that an important book character named David Talbot was unceremoniously killed off-screen.
02:05:23 --> 02:05:48 [UNKNOWN]: and so we've hypothesized that his role would be split between Louie and Daniel, but now it seems like Ragland's playing a part of it, too, because Lestot says about him that he calls Ragland a man I did not recognize, but who I now call friend, which for reasons, book creators will understand makes it seem like he's yeah, he's going to play that
02:05:50 --> 02:05:53 [UNKNOWN]: friend in the telomasker role that David played in the box.
02:05:56 --> 02:05:56 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
02:05:58 --> 02:05:58 [UNKNOWN]: Hmm.
02:05:59 --> 02:06:00 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I'm good with that.
02:06:01 --> 02:06:07 [UNKNOWN]: But also, I loved that listot, finally, yells at Gabriela, calls her a monster.
02:06:08 --> 02:06:14 [UNKNOWN]: Says, you know, you just want me to be on stage, you're gonna tear me apart and just call, I think he calls her a monster for everything.
02:06:14 --> 02:06:16 [UNKNOWN]: And then again, chooses Louie.
02:06:16 --> 02:06:18 [UNKNOWN]: He says, where's Louie?
02:06:18 --> 02:06:20 [UNKNOWN]: And then runs to him.
02:06:20 --> 02:06:23 [UNKNOWN]: And then they sit next to each other and do a little scarred neck touch.
02:06:24 --> 02:06:24 [UNKNOWN]: It's a good guy.
02:06:25 --> 02:06:25 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:06:26 --> 02:06:31 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I mean, I just, I think that they've done their werelayer while they think just be together now.
02:06:32 --> 02:06:33 [UNKNOWN]: Be the toxic couple you are.
02:06:33 --> 02:06:34 [UNKNOWN]: Own it.
02:06:34 --> 02:06:38 [UNKNOWN]: They needed to go through all this stuff on their own first.
02:06:39 --> 02:06:39 [UNKNOWN]: I think that's right.
02:06:39 --> 02:06:49 [UNKNOWN]: And I appreciated at the end of season two when Louie is like, I wanted to tell you that I know what's going on, but he didn't put them back together right away either.
02:06:50 --> 02:06:52 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, yeah.
02:06:52 --> 02:06:53 [UNKNOWN]: I knew you'd figure it out.
02:06:57 --> 02:07:13 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I think that's also, you know, as much as the stat says he wanted to torture our mom by not saying that, I think it was a point of pride for him that he wanted Louis to just like, like, Louis, don't you know me well enough to know that I would fight for your life even though you slipped my throat.
02:07:13 --> 02:07:14 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, exactly.
02:07:14 --> 02:07:15 [UNKNOWN]: But then didn't burn him.
02:07:15 --> 02:07:22 [UNKNOWN]: So, you know, yeah, well apparently fully beheading what have just done it after a few hours.
02:07:23 --> 02:07:23 [UNKNOWN]: After long enough,
02:07:27 --> 02:07:30 [UNKNOWN]: And let's start didn't want Lily to die either, right?
02:07:31 --> 02:07:39 [UNKNOWN]: But now everyone's going to die because the sidewalk graffiti in Montreal in the future says she is the answer.
02:07:40 --> 02:07:41 [UNKNOWN]: Answer, sorry.
02:07:43 --> 02:07:46 [UNKNOWN]: I have you seen all the people recording videos.
02:07:46 --> 02:07:47 [UNKNOWN]: We talked about this already.
02:07:47 --> 02:07:49 [UNKNOWN]: All the people recording these is like daily affirmations.
02:07:50 --> 02:07:51 [UNKNOWN]: No, really looks thinking to that.
02:07:53 --> 02:07:53 [UNKNOWN]: No fair.
02:07:54 --> 02:07:55 [UNKNOWN]: Sometimes we need that.
02:07:56 --> 02:07:58 [UNKNOWN]: And I am the girl like I mean.
02:08:01 --> 02:08:05 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I mean, I can't wait to see Akasha unleashed.
02:08:06 --> 02:08:12 [UNKNOWN]: Um, it looks like they've even ramped up the carnage versus the book version.
02:08:12 --> 02:08:13 [UNKNOWN]: And I'm here for it.
02:08:13 --> 02:08:15 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know why Lestat is day walking.
02:08:15 --> 02:08:16 [UNKNOWN]: I hope they really get into that.
02:08:17 --> 02:08:21 [UNKNOWN]: Um, and I need to know, he's recording for his patron.
02:08:21 --> 02:08:23 [UNKNOWN]: He says whoever you are.
02:08:24 --> 02:08:26 [UNKNOWN]: And so I'm like, is it a mystery patient,
02:08:30 --> 02:08:58 [UNKNOWN]: did let's not just decide to record this and sell it off at auction and why I think yeah I think it's a letter because remember at the beginning he's like oh whoever's listening to this you're very rich I like you already you know wasting money on this I like you already so I think that is this is for the anonymous benefactor who's going to be an anonymous benefactor who know yeah but then I guess it wouldn't be at auction he would just be like here sell it yeah yeah I think it's I think it's the auction
02:08:58 --> 02:09:00 [UNKNOWN]: But why would he want to do that?
02:09:01 --> 02:09:02 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know.
02:09:02 --> 02:09:03 [UNKNOWN]: It's very strange.
02:09:03 --> 02:09:05 [UNKNOWN]: I think we have many answers coming to us.
02:09:06 --> 02:09:06 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
02:09:07 --> 02:09:08 [UNKNOWN]: Including Akashos.
02:09:09 --> 02:09:09 [UNKNOWN]: Mm-hmm.
02:09:10 --> 02:09:12 [UNKNOWN]: She is the answer.
02:09:12 --> 02:09:12 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
02:09:13 --> 02:09:14 [UNKNOWN]: Just like I'm right here.
02:09:15 --> 02:09:15 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:09:16 --> 02:09:18 [UNKNOWN]: You need to look for the answer any further.
02:09:20 --> 02:09:24 [UNKNOWN]: So we have a whole season here.
02:09:25 --> 02:09:25 [UNKNOWN]: We did it.
02:09:29 --> 02:09:33 [UNKNOWN]: We are going to do a wrap up with Mark from Nevermind the Music and I hear you have plans.
02:09:33 --> 02:09:37 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, I will send you guys some questions.
02:09:37 --> 02:09:49 [UNKNOWN]: We're going to focus about half on the music and half in general and I'm just going to I'm sending you guys a list of questions, you know, like a pick one song one scene to answer each question kind of thing.
02:09:50 --> 02:09:54 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, if there's a season of something to focus on the music for, it's the show.
02:09:54 --> 02:09:55 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, absolutely.
02:09:55 --> 02:10:02 [UNKNOWN]: And while we have Mark's brain willing to be tapped on the subject, we would be silly not to take advantage of that.
02:10:02 --> 02:10:03 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:10:03 --> 02:10:05 [UNKNOWN]: And if you want to hear us singing on Mark's podcast.
02:10:06 --> 02:10:07 [UNKNOWN]: That's true.
02:10:07 --> 02:10:12 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know when that's going to start rolling, but I guess we're in his ad breaks now or some of them.
02:10:12 --> 02:10:35 [UNKNOWN]: yeah he's he's was collecting voice parts to do in the summer unless my take was bad then you know he's won't use it i think i gave him like six steps i i've been gave him a baritone take which um i he probably won't use but he had to laugh he's like not tenor i was like no there was it had a really complicated rhythm i didn't feel like learning that's fair
02:10:40 --> 02:10:44 [UNKNOWN]: But yeah, and we also have going on at the same time on this feed.
02:10:44 --> 02:10:50 [UNKNOWN]: People should check out the house of the dragon weekly coverage with David and Joe.
02:10:51 --> 02:10:52 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, they're doing that.
02:10:52 --> 02:10:59 [UNKNOWN]: And also, we have the guys at Dungeons and Do Rags doing weekly coverage of House of the Dragon as well.
02:10:59 --> 02:11:02 [UNKNOWN]: So plenty of House of the Dragon coverage going on.
02:11:03 --> 02:11:05 [UNKNOWN]: John and David are doing two episodes a week now.
02:11:06 --> 02:11:06 [UNKNOWN]: They're crazy.
02:11:10 --> 02:11:10 [UNKNOWN]: Mm-hmm.
02:11:12 --> 02:11:22 [UNKNOWN]: And also, we're going to be doing some movie check-ins John and I are finally super girl is releasing on digital on the 28th of July.
02:11:22 --> 02:11:25 [UNKNOWN]: So we've decided to release our episode linked to that.
02:11:26 --> 02:11:27 [UNKNOWN]: A few quick.
02:11:30 --> 02:11:36 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, it's, honestly, I wish it could have gotten it out earlier, but it's been a really busy summer.
02:11:37 --> 02:11:43 [UNKNOWN]: No, I just mean the paid video on demand really seems quick after the movie.
02:11:44 --> 02:11:52 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, it was about a month and a half, which is not the longest, but it is, it's pretty typical now, but obviously people have been shooting on this movie.
02:11:52 --> 02:11:54 [UNKNOWN]: John and I will not be shooting on this movie.
02:11:55 --> 02:11:55 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
02:11:55 --> 02:11:56 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, I haven't seen it.
02:11:57 --> 02:11:57 [UNKNOWN]: I want to see it.
02:11:57 --> 02:11:59 [UNKNOWN]: I'll probably.
02:11:59 --> 02:12:00 [UNKNOWN]: Hey, it's going to be on digital.
02:12:00 --> 02:12:00 [UNKNOWN]: Yep.
02:12:01 --> 02:12:07 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, because I still have to see the Odyssey and the three hours of my life on that because I'm supposed to be leading coverage of that speaking of movie check-ins.
02:12:08 --> 02:12:09 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, exactly.
02:12:09 --> 02:12:14 [UNKNOWN]: And in the meantime, on the wool shift dust feed, so a separate feed from the main lower-hounds feed.
02:12:15 --> 02:12:18 [UNKNOWN]: But we are covering silo season three there.
02:12:18 --> 02:12:19 [UNKNOWN]: It's heating up.
02:12:19 --> 02:12:21 [UNKNOWN]: We're approaching mid-season.
02:12:21 --> 02:12:24 [UNKNOWN]: We're getting this is a season of the answers.
02:12:25 --> 02:12:41 [UNKNOWN]: Um, and Luke and I are having a great time covering that and Abby and I are covering that uh, the book spoilers in the separate book club feed excellent when I can finally find the time when I'm not moving to watch silo I'm gonna I'm gonna binge those podcasts.
02:12:41 --> 02:12:43 [UNKNOWN]: Well, you said it's your favorite book of the trilogy, right?
02:12:43 --> 02:12:45 [UNKNOWN]: So the is my favorite book of the trilogy.
02:12:45 --> 02:12:46 [UNKNOWN]: So I really want to get back into it.
02:12:46 --> 02:12:48 [UNKNOWN]: I just haven't had the time no time
02:12:50 --> 02:12:55 [UNKNOWN]: But we've been having some lively discussions about it on the discord and other places.
02:12:55 --> 02:12:59 [UNKNOWN]: So, yeah, the first season hit the ground running.
02:13:00 --> 02:13:00 [UNKNOWN]: Great.
02:13:01 --> 02:13:02 [UNKNOWN]: That's awesome.
02:13:03 --> 02:13:10 [UNKNOWN]: We also have Cosmere Corner launching July 31st, so the end of this month is coming up so quick, and I'm so behind on my editing, so that's just trust me out.
02:13:13 --> 02:13:17 [UNKNOWN]: But no, but we've pre-recorded the first, like, month or so of episode.
02:13:17 --> 02:13:18 [UNKNOWN]: So we're going, we're going for it.
02:13:19 --> 02:13:22 [UNKNOWN]: And yeah, we're having a great time with that.
02:13:22 --> 02:13:23 [UNKNOWN]: Brandon Sanders and stuff.
02:13:23 --> 02:13:25 [UNKNOWN]: We're starting with the Missborn, the final empire book.
02:13:26 --> 02:13:27 [UNKNOWN]: And you can read along with us.
02:13:27 --> 02:13:31 [UNKNOWN]: You can, on the 31st it's just going to be a preview where we tell you what we're doing.
02:13:31 --> 02:13:32 [UNKNOWN]: So you don't have to read anything ahead of that.
02:13:34 --> 02:13:35 [UNKNOWN]: And yeah, what else we got?
02:13:35 --> 02:13:37 [UNKNOWN]: Nevermind the music as we mentioned Mark.
02:13:39 --> 02:13:46 [UNKNOWN]: He's got his weekly podcast with Nicole, talking about music and psychology, and then having me and Alicia on the duops on me.
02:13:46 --> 02:13:47 [UNKNOWN]: Great.
02:13:48 --> 02:13:53 [UNKNOWN]: I'm supposed to be doing an episode with them next month as well, so stay tuned for that.
02:13:54 --> 02:13:54 [UNKNOWN]: Ooh, exciting.
02:13:55 --> 02:14:01 [UNKNOWN]: And probably Howard, I believe he's on a break, but we'll be doing some house of the dragon stuff at some point.
02:14:02 --> 02:14:03 [UNKNOWN]: I don't think so.
02:14:03 --> 02:14:05 [UNKNOWN]: than they will not be doing house over there.
02:14:05 --> 02:14:06 [UNKNOWN]: I guess that's at some point.
02:14:06 --> 02:14:09 [UNKNOWN]: But hey, Laura Hounds and Dungeons and Dufrags are covering it.
02:14:10 --> 02:14:11 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, definitely.
02:14:11 --> 02:14:12 [UNKNOWN]: You got plenty of stuff going on.
02:14:13 --> 02:14:14 [UNKNOWN]: You have three podcasts a week on the network.
02:14:14 --> 02:14:15 [UNKNOWN]: I think that's fine.
02:14:15 --> 02:14:16 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:14:18 --> 02:14:20 [UNKNOWN]: Uh, am I leaving out something that's active?
02:14:20 --> 02:14:21 [UNKNOWN]: I don't think so.
02:14:21 --> 02:14:25 [UNKNOWN]: Radioactive Ram Legs appears to be dormant as well as rings and rituals.
02:14:25 --> 02:14:29 [UNKNOWN]: Although Marilyn is telling me that she's she's working on getting things going again.
02:14:29 --> 02:14:31 [UNKNOWN]: So, yeah, we'll see when that comes back.
02:14:33 --> 02:14:43 [UNKNOWN]: Other than that, yeah, there's always tank cannon, timeline podcast will be that's that's gonna be my focus after this now that this season is done.
02:14:43 --> 02:14:44 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, other than silo of course.
02:14:45 --> 02:14:49 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, plenty of vampire stuff keep it up us busy.
02:14:51 --> 02:14:53 [UNKNOWN]: All right, let's do our thank yous.

02:16:58 --> 02:16:59 [UNKNOWN]: Thanks for listening.
02:17:01 --> 02:17:05 [UNKNOWN]: what you got for me this week, Alicia, our last inside the coffin segment.
02:17:05 --> 02:17:28 [UNKNOWN]: For this season, yeah, so I'm super excited for season four where we're presumably, you know, we're gonna get obviously get more of a let's start story, presumably revisiting the trial from season two and Nikki's death, but also the devil's minion stuff and, you know, setting up season four
02:17:29 --> 02:17:51 [UNKNOWN]: You know, I do, we'll come back to the setting up season five thing, but there are the questions I mentioned, like, will we get the twin, which is Maharetta McCarray who are super important to the story, or Jesse is a human associate of theirs that I've wondered if they would use another to substitute for her, like, Alex or something?
02:17:51 --> 02:17:52 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know.
02:17:54 --> 02:18:09 [UNKNOWN]: And then there's also this question of the references to Amal, who is at, you know, at the points where Akasha still alive, he is inside Akasha, but it sounded like we got a reference saying that maybe Amal is...
02:18:10 --> 02:18:12 [UNKNOWN]: inside the start in the future.
02:18:12 --> 02:18:16 [UNKNOWN]: So are they skipping the twin witches or what?
02:18:16 --> 02:18:17 [UNKNOWN]: We'll see.
02:18:17 --> 02:18:21 [UNKNOWN]: But I think, yeah, I'm most excited about the questions about season five.
02:18:21 --> 02:18:26 [UNKNOWN]: You're saying twin witches, do you remember the Disney channel original witches?
02:18:26 --> 02:18:28 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, we talked about, I think we did this already.
02:18:29 --> 02:18:30 [UNKNOWN]: This is an old bit now.
02:18:30 --> 02:18:32 [UNKNOWN]: We've been on the mic too much together on this season.
02:18:32 --> 02:18:34 [UNKNOWN]: So now we're recycling jokes.
02:18:35 --> 02:18:37 [UNKNOWN]: Well, I mean, yeah, my sister and I used to love the T.A.
02:18:37 --> 02:18:38 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:38 --> 02:18:38 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:38 --> 02:18:38 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:38 --> 02:18:39 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:39 --> 02:18:39 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:39 --> 02:18:39 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:39 --> 02:18:40 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:40 --> 02:18:40 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:40 --> 02:18:41 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:41 --> 02:18:41 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:41 --> 02:18:41 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:41 --> 02:18:42 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:42 --> 02:18:42 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:42 --> 02:18:42 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:42 --> 02:18:42 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:42 --> 02:18:43 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:43 --> 02:18:43 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:43 --> 02:18:43 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:43 --> 02:18:44 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:44 --> 02:18:44 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:44 --> 02:18:44 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:44 --> 02:18:44 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:44 --> 02:18:45 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:45 --> 02:18:45 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:45 --> 02:18:45 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:45 --> 02:18:45 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:45 --> 02:18:46 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:46 --> 02:18:46 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:46 --> 02:18:46 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:46 --> 02:18:46 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:46 --> 02:18:47 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:47 --> 02:18:47 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:47 --> 02:18:47 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:47 --> 02:18:48 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:48 --> 02:18:48 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:48 --> 02:18:48 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:48 --> 02:18:49 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:49 --> 02:18:49 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:49 --> 02:18:49 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:49 --> 02:18:49 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A.
02:18:49 --> 02:18:50 [UNKNOWN]: and T.A
02:18:51 --> 02:18:57 [UNKNOWN]: Um, but yeah, so I'm, I'm wondering also like I'm enjoying them getting deeper into the telemaska.
02:18:57 --> 02:18:58 [UNKNOWN]: It's a shame about the series.
02:18:58 --> 02:19:06 [UNKNOWN]: I still say, but I'm wondering if they're going to start talking about the fact that the telemaska was actually founded by immortals.
02:19:07 --> 02:19:15 [UNKNOWN]: And if that will have anything to do with their plans about what to do with all the make more vampires after they thin the human herd.
02:19:17 --> 02:19:18 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:19:19 --> 02:19:27 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I, you know, the telemaska, I wonder if they know about Akasha and they're trying to wake her.
02:19:27 --> 02:19:27 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:19:27 --> 02:19:30 [UNKNOWN]: And get this, you know, this is part of what I wonder.
02:19:31 --> 02:19:31 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:19:31 --> 02:19:31 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:19:32 --> 02:19:34 [UNKNOWN]: And this whole ends of thing.
02:19:34 --> 02:19:35 [UNKNOWN]: I'm like, what?
02:19:35 --> 02:19:36 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
02:19:36 --> 02:19:38 [UNKNOWN]: So the ends of sparkles, I was saying, I wonder
02:19:46 --> 02:20:03 [UNKNOWN]: uh there's okay i don't want to get into the whole thing it'll be too much for people but um i it's important to say that there are later in the books there's these uh alien creatures who are just kind of referred to as the parents from the planet brevena
02:20:05 --> 02:20:24 [UNKNOWN]: And they create Amal by taking this ancient human from an end, and fusing him kind of with this lower castrier, and they want him to disrupt the world and create grief and trauma because they feed off of it.
02:20:24 --> 02:20:29 [UNKNOWN]: But then he instead goes to Atlantis and becomes like the king of Atlantis kind of.
02:20:30 --> 02:20:33 [UNKNOWN]: Um, but that's like protected, a protected realm.
02:20:34 --> 02:20:41 [UNKNOWN]: And so they end up forming these replamoints, uh, which are kind of vampire precursors.
02:20:41 --> 02:20:44 [UNKNOWN]: But anyway, so this lower castria is something that's in these replamoints.
02:20:44 --> 02:20:51 [UNKNOWN]: It's something that's in vampires themselves because this was infused in Omo who when he got infused to a cache.
02:20:52 --> 02:20:54 [UNKNOWN]: very complicated trying to get too deep into it.
02:20:54 --> 02:20:58 [UNKNOWN]: But I'm like, are the ends of sparkles, Laura Castria?
02:20:58 --> 02:21:02 [UNKNOWN]: And then I like the YouTube channel, the naughty librarian.
02:21:03 --> 02:21:17 [UNKNOWN]: I don't always agree 100% with all of her takes, but she says something really interesting in her breakdown of the finale, which she points to, you know, I've been wondering about these birds, Paul hears and wondering if they're like angel voices or something like that, especially
02:21:21 --> 02:21:28 [UNKNOWN]: She brought up what if, so these, these parents from Bravana, they are described as birdlike.
02:21:29 --> 02:21:42 [UNKNOWN]: So what if the birds are actually the parents from Bravana, and that got me spiraling thinking, you know, this stuff, I said, let's stop things, it's his vampire duty to corrupt people, you know, and there's devil sort of way.
02:21:42 --> 02:21:45 [UNKNOWN]: You know, I was thinking, does that tie into
02:21:47 --> 02:22:08 [UNKNOWN]: Um, does that tie into the map not the devil thing, but then it's also could it be that it's because the Brevonans are making our making the vampires think that their job is to stir up woe so that they can feed upon it because that's what they do Does that make sense no
02:22:13 --> 02:22:25 [UNKNOWN]: Um, but I know somebody did in the morning, so yeah, no, I'm I and Rice is an interesting lady and I don't understand her.
02:22:27 --> 02:22:29 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, this is real late book stuff.
02:22:29 --> 02:22:32 [UNKNOWN]: I guess that they can they can bring it together, but basically.
02:22:32 --> 02:22:43 [UNKNOWN]: Vampires are created, they are the children of this spirit named Amel, merging with the human soul in the form of a caution, and then it's passed on otherwise.
02:22:45 --> 02:22:55 [UNKNOWN]: And Amel was created from these alien bird like creatures who want sadness so they can eat the sadness.
02:23:00 --> 02:23:03 [UNKNOWN]: Maybe that's where I heat things up.
02:23:03 --> 02:23:04 [UNKNOWN]: Maybe I don't know.
02:23:05 --> 02:23:09 [UNKNOWN]: Well, um, yeah, and then this is this whole mem knocked the devil spin off.
02:23:09 --> 02:23:12 [UNKNOWN]: I'm expecting that I hope we'll hear something about on Friday.
02:23:12 --> 02:23:18 [UNKNOWN]: Like, I've been wondering, could Claudia go searching heaven and hell for Madeline that would tie into the story there?
02:23:19 --> 02:23:22 [UNKNOWN]: Could Angel Paul be a character in that show?
02:23:24 --> 02:23:27 [UNKNOWN]: again, who the fuck is Enzo and why is there so much focus on him?
02:23:28 --> 02:23:38 [UNKNOWN]: And a theory that people had online, which makes sense is that maybe he stands in for a different character from this book, Mem not the Devil.
02:23:38 --> 02:23:46 [UNKNOWN]: There's a human character named Roger who's kind of a no good and so let's start at some point decides he's going to be his meal.
02:23:47 --> 02:23:57 [UNKNOWN]: And then Roger comes, after the start kills him, Roger comes back and haunts him and says, basically, I need you to go check in on my daughter.
02:23:57 --> 02:24:00 [UNKNOWN]: So like haunts, let's start into helping his daughter.
02:24:00 --> 02:24:07 [UNKNOWN]: And so people are like, oh, the stuff about the present could that be the person that it was meant to go to, could that be his daughter?
02:24:08 --> 02:24:11 [UNKNOWN]: And they just change the name and setting and all that stuff of the character.
02:24:12 --> 02:24:12 [UNKNOWN]: Oh.
02:24:14 --> 02:24:21 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, all right, see this makes more sense to me than your fucking, I'm sorry, you're alien stuff, you know?
02:24:21 --> 02:24:26 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, then I'm not the devil thing is coming soon, the other alien stuff.
02:24:27 --> 02:24:30 [UNKNOWN]: There was an interview where Roland Jones was asked about, would you do that stuff?
02:24:31 --> 02:24:33 [UNKNOWN]: And he was basically like, yeah, of course I would do that stuff.
02:24:36 --> 02:24:52 [UNKNOWN]: Ugh, I don't, this is, see, this is a thing though, like you're explaining it to me now and like as bullet points it makes zero sense to me, but if the show continues operating at this level, I believe that this will, yes, this will be a cohesive story.
02:24:52 --> 02:24:53 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, yeah.
02:24:54 --> 02:24:57 [UNKNOWN]: It's wild, but I like, you know, this is a show that takes wild swings.
02:24:57 --> 02:24:59 [UNKNOWN]: That's why we like it, right?
02:24:59 --> 02:25:01 [UNKNOWN]: We've already talked about vampires being.
02:25:01 --> 02:25:04 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, like, I think they could make anything work.
02:25:04 --> 02:25:04 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:25:05 --> 02:25:09 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, I don't think it would happen too soon, but I just, it's questions have been raised.
02:25:09 --> 02:25:10 [UNKNOWN]: I'll just say questions have been raised.
02:25:11 --> 02:25:12 [UNKNOWN]: Like I said, I think first,
02:25:12 --> 02:25:13 [UNKNOWN]: We get them.
02:25:13 --> 02:25:14 [UNKNOWN]: I'm not the devil spin off.
02:25:14 --> 02:25:15 [UNKNOWN]: Very curious about that.
02:25:15 --> 02:25:29 [UNKNOWN]: Hoping also we hear about the night island spin off, which is in the books Night Island is a place that's specifically our mom and Daniel create to create together and it's like a vampire playgrounds and an island off the coast of Florida.
02:25:30 --> 02:25:39 [UNKNOWN]: And apparently they're going to do a mini series of mini soads was the last thing they said about some people trying to like break in and steal some arts, not realizing that
02:25:41 --> 02:25:44 [UNKNOWN]: Ooh, all right, so a vampire heist?
02:25:44 --> 02:25:46 [UNKNOWN]: Basically, we get like a heist together.
02:25:48 --> 02:25:50 [UNKNOWN]: I still haven't let David live down, making me cover that.
02:25:52 --> 02:25:53 [UNKNOWN]: That one was a disappointing show.
02:25:53 --> 02:25:56 [UNKNOWN]: This was in 2023, I haven't let him live it down.
02:25:58 --> 02:26:04 [UNKNOWN]: But yeah, a heist against vampires, like you go to steal from someone and you don't realize they're supernatural.
02:26:06 --> 02:26:06 [UNKNOWN]: I like it.
02:26:07 --> 02:26:15 [UNKNOWN]: What I am now obsessing about and is I said I was going to replace Devils minion corner with body thief murder board.
02:26:15 --> 02:26:18 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, I got a photo shop your head on to Charlie Day.
02:26:18 --> 02:26:21 [UNKNOWN]: It's like, uh, with the court.
02:26:21 --> 02:26:22 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:26:22 --> 02:26:22 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:26:22 --> 02:26:23 [UNKNOWN]: That's all.
02:26:24 --> 02:26:25 [UNKNOWN]: That's why I called it the murder board.
02:26:25 --> 02:26:31 [UNKNOWN]: It's not necessarily about murder, but, okay, so next season is Queen of the Dance.
02:26:31 --> 02:26:32 [UNKNOWN]: Clear, great.
02:26:32 --> 02:26:34 [UNKNOWN]: Talks about the things that might show up there.
02:26:34 --> 02:26:38 [UNKNOWN]: The season after that is tail of the body thief.
02:26:39 --> 02:26:52 [UNKNOWN]: And that is where Raglan James plays a central role and I'm wondering Raglan's interest in the soul, probably because his own soul is not bound to his body.
02:26:54 --> 02:27:22 [UNKNOWN]: okay or at least he will not be he just has a supernatural ability to swap bodies with people or will develop one perhaps and so what happens just to summarize the sequence of body swaps in this book um there is a raglan james character who's an ex-tala masca agent who's been kicked out for his nefarious behavior he uh is dying of cancer
02:27:22 --> 02:27:46 [UNKNOWN]: So he has his body swapping ability so he decides what he's going to do is he goes to a mental hospital and we don't really get any backstory for this character but basically just a hot Indian guy and he's like let's swap bodies newer hotter model sounds great and then the other guy's trapped in his body and dies of cancer.
02:27:47 --> 02:27:56 [UNKNOWN]: So with this hot young body, he goes to Lestad, who's having an existential crisis because of the fallout of of everything that happens with the Kasha.
02:27:57 --> 02:27:59 [UNKNOWN]: And he's like, let's start.
02:27:59 --> 02:28:02 [UNKNOWN]: Don't you want to just experience being human again for a while?
02:28:03 --> 02:28:05 [UNKNOWN]: And Lestad's like, this is actually really interesting.
02:28:05 --> 02:28:08 [UNKNOWN]: And he asks all of his friends, like, I have this opportunity.
02:28:08 --> 02:28:09 [UNKNOWN]: Should I do this?
02:28:09 --> 02:28:11 [UNKNOWN]: And like, Louis and Marius and other
02:28:16 --> 02:28:16 [UNKNOWN]: do not do this.
02:28:17 --> 02:28:19 [UNKNOWN]: But then Lestot's gonna list out.
02:28:19 --> 02:28:20 [UNKNOWN]: So he's like, actually, I am going to do it.
02:28:21 --> 02:28:27 [UNKNOWN]: And then as soon as he swaps bodies, Ragling James runs away with the powerful vampire body.
02:28:28 --> 02:28:33 [UNKNOWN]: And Lestot realizes the body he's trapped in, the human body is dying of pneumonia.
02:28:35 --> 02:28:37 [UNKNOWN]: So he was trying to raglan again was trying to do the thing.
02:28:38 --> 02:28:40 [UNKNOWN]: I still knew body, I let you die in the other body.
02:28:40 --> 02:28:44 [UNKNOWN]: But let's not meet someone who helps him cure this body.
02:28:44 --> 02:28:45 [UNKNOWN]: He gets over their pneumonia.
02:28:46 --> 02:28:50 [UNKNOWN]: And then he ends, he's going, you know, he wants help getting his body back.
02:28:50 --> 02:29:01 [UNKNOWN]: And David, the character who died off screen, is the one who is like, okay, I'll help you track down your body and swap back.
02:29:01 --> 02:29:02 [UNKNOWN]: And so they do that.
02:29:03 --> 02:29:10 [UNKNOWN]: only in this, um, while the start is forced to go to bed because the sudden comes up.
02:29:11 --> 02:29:13 [UNKNOWN]: Raglin in the start.
02:29:14 --> 02:29:25 [UNKNOWN]: So let's start has switched back with Raglin who was in the young hot body and Raglin swaps the young hot body with David.
02:29:25 --> 02:29:35 [UNKNOWN]: So now Raglin is pretending to be David and the young hot body has David's soul in it and he tries to get let's start to turn him because let's
02:29:41 --> 02:29:44 [UNKNOWN]: David's body's head in with raglan inside.
02:29:44 --> 02:29:49 [UNKNOWN]: So raglan dies inside David's body and now David is left in the young hot body.
02:29:51 --> 02:29:52 [UNKNOWN]: Did all that make sense?
02:29:52 --> 02:29:53 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:29:53 --> 02:29:53 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:29:55 --> 02:29:57 [UNKNOWN]: You have a very helpful chart here without the chart.
02:29:57 --> 02:29:59 [UNKNOWN]: I think I'd be lost, but you did a nice chart here.
02:30:00 --> 02:30:04 [UNKNOWN]: Sorry, listeners at home that you can't see my chart that I did about the body.
02:30:04 --> 02:30:05 [UNKNOWN]: I think you should post it to the discord.
02:30:06 --> 02:30:08 [UNKNOWN]: That's a premium feature there.
02:30:09 --> 02:30:09 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, that's true.
02:30:09 --> 02:30:10 [UNKNOWN]: That's true.
02:30:10 --> 02:30:13 [UNKNOWN]: I should do a copy of it to the discord.
02:30:14 --> 02:30:18 [UNKNOWN]: But then yeah, so the question is now we have, uh, there's no David.
02:30:18 --> 02:30:22 [UNKNOWN]: So we assume the Daniel, we the one who would be caught up in this body swapping.
02:30:23 --> 02:30:27 [UNKNOWN]: A lot of people are like, is the young hot Indian guy going to be real Rashid?
02:30:28 --> 02:30:35 [UNKNOWN]: And then it's more satisfying if you have Rashid is the partner of Raglan James.
02:30:35 --> 02:30:38 [UNKNOWN]: So that's even more of a betrayal in that regard if he's stealing his body.
02:30:39 --> 02:30:43 [UNKNOWN]: And now let's start thinks that he's like friends with Raglan.
02:30:44 --> 02:30:55 [UNKNOWN]: Does that mean, I mean, that would mean it would make more sense for let's start to trust him with the body swap and be more devastating for him to betray let's start as well.
02:30:58 --> 02:30:59 [UNKNOWN]: and then okay.
02:30:59 --> 02:31:10 [UNKNOWN]: So I'm wondering also so now we have rather than raglin being sick Daniels the one who is sick with Parkinson's and that weird thing.
02:31:11 --> 02:31:18 [UNKNOWN]: where we saw them confront each other in the last scene, and he and Daniel whips out his fangs.
02:31:18 --> 02:31:21 [UNKNOWN]: I'm like, what if they swapped bodies there already?
02:31:21 --> 02:31:23 [UNKNOWN]: But then I'm not sure what that means.
02:31:24 --> 02:31:28 [UNKNOWN]: It would mean there was actually Daniel and Raglan's body that let's start his befriending.
02:31:30 --> 02:31:32 [UNKNOWN]: and then Raglin would, I don't know, I don't know.
02:31:32 --> 02:31:38 [UNKNOWN]: Or maybe not, maybe I, I, I, I, I'm just like, I was trying to draw charts.
02:31:38 --> 02:31:42 [UNKNOWN]: I will spare people trying to explain them, but I'm like, and what order do they do things?
02:31:43 --> 02:31:43 [UNKNOWN]: I hope.
02:31:44 --> 02:32:02 [UNKNOWN]: If Bally Gill who plays Rashid, indeed gets to this, he could potentially, he played the straight edge Rashid character that we've been seeing, he could play the Justin Kirk character Raglin, he could play the Sam Reed character listot, and could ultimately wind up playing Daniel.
02:32:03 --> 02:32:14 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, as much as I don't want to learn lose Eric Bagozi and it seems inevitable that that's going to happen in the next few seasons and that I think that would be really fun to see.
02:32:14 --> 02:32:16 [UNKNOWN]: I hope he's up for it if that's what's happening.
02:32:17 --> 02:32:19 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, yeah, I hope he does a good job.
02:32:19 --> 02:32:27 [UNKNOWN]: But in some people think that Raglan James at the auction is already has list out in his body.
02:32:27 --> 02:32:31 [UNKNOWN]: But like all of this means they're doing different body swaps in the book, which makes sense.
02:32:31 --> 02:32:34 [UNKNOWN]: But I've got my, this is why I have my murder board.
02:32:34 --> 02:32:36 [UNKNOWN]: I'm going to be tracking these things.
02:32:37 --> 02:32:42 [UNKNOWN]: OK, I'm going to trust you to manage the murder board because I don't think I can handle it.
02:32:49 --> 02:32:52 [UNKNOWN]: So you have this point here, do you want to go through it?
02:32:53 --> 02:32:58 [UNKNOWN]: Like, uh, uh, did, did Ragland and Jayden, you already switched?
02:32:58 --> 02:32:59 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, no, that's what I was just saying.
02:32:59 --> 02:33:00 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, okay.
02:33:01 --> 02:33:14 [UNKNOWN]: I, this is the part of this blown my mind though, because you were, you were saying, I, I realized now that this is what you were saying in the non-spoiler section of like what happened after Daniel, bore his fangs.
02:33:14 --> 02:33:15 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:33:15 --> 02:33:17 [UNKNOWN]: What if Ragland James is trying to be like the king of the vampires?
02:33:19 --> 02:33:21 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, that's where he wanted the great conversion.
02:33:21 --> 02:33:30 [UNKNOWN]: So maybe he would take Daniel's body, but then be like, oh, but it has Parkinson's and then try to like switch with Rashid and I don't know.
02:33:30 --> 02:33:32 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know or switch with those start like.
02:33:33 --> 02:33:35 [UNKNOWN]: Can he turn Rashid and then take over Rashid?
02:33:35 --> 02:33:36 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know.
02:33:36 --> 02:33:44 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I mean, the way it plays out in the book is that he's like trying to get the trickless start and determining him after he's taken another body.
02:33:44 --> 02:33:45 [UNKNOWN]: Hmm.
02:33:47 --> 02:34:01 [UNKNOWN]: But then there's also, this thing in the book, after this whole series of body swaps, it ends up with a stop-back in his body, Ragland died in David's body, and David is now in this new young body.
02:34:02 --> 02:34:11 [UNKNOWN]: And after that, listot has a dark moment and decides to force a turning on David in the new young body.
02:34:12 --> 02:34:17 [UNKNOWN]: So I feel like that story has been transferred now to our mom and did it to Daniel.
02:34:18 --> 02:34:19 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:34:19 --> 02:34:29 [UNKNOWN]: And but could let's stop still for his vampirism on new body Daniel because he thinks it's like apologizing for all the things.
02:34:31 --> 02:34:32 [UNKNOWN]: I realize that you said new body David.
02:34:33 --> 02:34:34 [UNKNOWN]: So you're trying to turn our co-host.
02:34:35 --> 02:34:39 [UNKNOWN]: No, David is the character who is in that role in the book.
02:34:39 --> 02:34:42 [UNKNOWN]: Oh my god, I can't fucking follow the solution.
02:34:43 --> 02:34:45 [UNKNOWN]: Sorry, David Talbot, the agent Talbot dude.
02:34:45 --> 02:34:47 [UNKNOWN]: I was hoping it was just a funny typo.
02:34:47 --> 02:34:47 [UNKNOWN]: Sorry.
02:34:48 --> 02:34:49 [UNKNOWN]: David Talbot, yes.
02:34:49 --> 02:34:49 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
02:34:49 --> 02:34:49 [UNKNOWN]: All right.
02:34:49 --> 02:34:51 [UNKNOWN]: The guy they pull off screen on Termonius.
02:34:52 --> 02:34:52 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
02:34:53 --> 02:34:53 [UNKNOWN]: I got it.
02:34:55 --> 02:34:59 [UNKNOWN]: One final ten-foil hat thing that I kind of want to see next season.
02:34:59 --> 02:35:07 [UNKNOWN]: So I already said that the devil's minion not off to the health he has start, that is pure canon, that it also started in a very toxic way.
02:35:09 --> 02:35:16 [UNKNOWN]: But there's also like we had where, let's start and Louis had to go apart for a while and sort of figure out their own shape before they can be together.
02:35:17 --> 02:35:20 [UNKNOWN]: Same thing kind of happens with devil's minion only.
02:35:21 --> 02:35:26 [UNKNOWN]: Daniel leaves our mind for marius for a while.
02:35:27 --> 02:35:42 [UNKNOWN]: And I kind of if that does happen, I kind of wanted to happen while Eric Bogosian is still there because I think it would be interesting to explore like the sort of generational differences in how they present.
02:35:42 --> 02:35:47 [UNKNOWN]: And yeah, I also think they'd sassy each other all day.
02:35:48 --> 02:35:50 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, Marius and Daniel.
02:35:50 --> 02:35:51 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, absolutely.
02:35:51 --> 02:35:52 [UNKNOWN]: They would sassy each other all day.
02:35:52 --> 02:35:53 [UNKNOWN]: It would be great.
02:35:54 --> 02:35:54 [UNKNOWN]: It would be great to watch.
02:35:55 --> 02:35:55 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:35:56 --> 02:35:59 [UNKNOWN]: So, okay, there's all of my conspiracy theories.
02:35:59 --> 02:36:02 [UNKNOWN]: I hope like a third of it made sense to non-readers.
02:36:04 --> 02:36:13 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I don't get it, but I am excited to learn because you've teased me with enough like twists at this point.
02:36:14 --> 02:36:19 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, so I'm really excited for next season, but I'm already racing ahead to the season after.
02:36:20 --> 02:36:20 [UNKNOWN]: Right, exactly.
02:36:20 --> 02:36:23 [UNKNOWN]: You're like, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I cost you a cost.
02:36:23 --> 02:36:24 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, all right.
02:36:24 --> 02:36:27 [UNKNOWN]: And we know we know it's gonna happen there, but it's gonna be awesome.
02:36:27 --> 02:36:32 [UNKNOWN]: And we don't know what's gonna happen there, but... Well, we're getting to the end of the well-known story, right?
02:36:32 --> 02:36:38 [UNKNOWN]: Because the after-next season, that'll be the end of what's previously been adapted on-screen.
02:36:38 --> 02:36:40 [UNKNOWN]: That's true, yeah.
02:36:44 --> 02:36:49 [UNKNOWN]: You know, interested in what happens after that because it'll be new for people who haven't read the books.
02:36:50 --> 02:36:53 [UNKNOWN]: Although some people say they give up on the tale of the body thief and like why?
02:36:55 --> 02:36:55 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:36:55 --> 02:36:55 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:36:55 --> 02:36:56 [UNKNOWN]: Different experiences out.
02:36:56 --> 02:36:57 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:36:57 --> 02:36:58 [UNKNOWN]: It's the different story.
02:36:58 --> 02:36:59 [UNKNOWN]: Mm-hmm.
02:36:59 --> 02:37:00 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:37:01 --> 02:37:02 [UNKNOWN]: Well, I'm excited to keep reading.
02:37:02 --> 02:37:06 [UNKNOWN]: I think I'm going to keep reading over the break between season.
02:37:06 --> 02:37:10 [UNKNOWN]: So maybe I'll be better prepared for body, swap and next season.
02:37:11 --> 02:37:12 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
02:37:12 --> 02:37:15 [UNKNOWN]: Get to the aliens and then Jesus Christ.
02:37:15 --> 02:37:16 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know if I can be.
02:37:16 --> 02:37:17 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, he's there, too, right?
02:37:17 --> 02:37:17 [UNKNOWN]: And so.
02:37:18 --> 02:37:19 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, yeah.
02:37:19 --> 02:37:19 [UNKNOWN]: No, that's true.
02:37:19 --> 02:37:24 [UNKNOWN]: We know, but he so Jesus shows up in Memmonock the Devil, which they're apparently doing as the spin-off.
02:37:24 --> 02:37:25 [UNKNOWN]: So.
02:37:25 --> 02:37:25 [UNKNOWN]: Oh.
02:37:26 --> 02:37:26 [UNKNOWN]: All right.
02:37:27 --> 02:37:30 [UNKNOWN]: Well, I'm sure that'll go over really well with a lot of people.
02:37:30 --> 02:37:35 [UNKNOWN]: Hmm, yeah, I hope AMC doesn't have too many conservative interests of them, really them.
02:37:37 --> 02:37:47 [UNKNOWN]: I have no idea the ownership of AMC, but no, I know people were worried that there weren't as many queer kisses as season, but I think it's also just like these couples need to heal themselves.
02:37:48 --> 02:37:50 [UNKNOWN]: There weren't that many kisses, the season, you know.
02:37:51 --> 02:37:54 [UNKNOWN]: No, it's like list out in his mom, actually the most.
02:37:55 --> 02:37:56 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, exactly.
02:37:56 --> 02:37:56 [UNKNOWN]: So.
02:37:57 --> 02:38:02 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, no, I don't, I don't think they toned that down, like an intentional way at all.
02:38:03 --> 02:38:10 [UNKNOWN]: No, but there was commentary that like Gabriella's trans aspects were toned down and things like that.
02:38:10 --> 02:38:14 [UNKNOWN]: But I don't know if that was dictated or just, I don't know.
02:38:16 --> 02:38:18 [UNKNOWN]: Before a pant suit in the end.
02:38:18 --> 02:38:19 [UNKNOWN]: In the modern day.
02:38:19 --> 02:38:20 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, in the modern day.
02:38:20 --> 02:38:23 [UNKNOWN]: There's much more subversive when she did it in the 18th century.
02:38:24 --> 02:38:24 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
02:38:24 --> 02:38:25 [UNKNOWN]: No, you're right.
02:38:26 --> 02:38:28 [UNKNOWN]: They also just didn't spend a lot of time in that, so.
02:38:28 --> 02:38:29 [UNKNOWN]: No, it's true.
02:38:29 --> 02:38:34 [UNKNOWN]: Maybe they didn't want to like make a big character moment when it was, you know, the past.
02:38:34 --> 02:38:53 [UNKNOWN]: I know that they were like, they wanted to do sequences with her and our mom, like fighting and stuff and like, like, a mom chasing them when they left and the Paris, you know, chasing after them and like having a big fight and then they just ended up having to cut that or table that at least, maybe they'll come back to it.
02:38:56 --> 02:38:59 [UNKNOWN]: Well, I look forward to whatever they do because I love the show.
02:38:59 --> 02:39:03 [UNKNOWN]: This was a great finale, and they really set up a really great next season, I think.
02:39:04 --> 02:39:10 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, and thank you for indulging my obsession with these long recording.
02:39:11 --> 02:39:12 [UNKNOWN]: No, I am.
02:39:12 --> 02:39:15 [UNKNOWN]: I haven't funnily should never apologize for a good time.
02:39:16 --> 02:39:30 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, well, I hope we have a good time wrapping it all up with Mark and, yeah, this weekend will record right after the, uh, after that the CDCC announcements.
02:39:30 --> 02:39:33 [UNKNOWN]: So can't wait to talk about whatever comes out there.
02:39:34 --> 02:39:34 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:39:34 --> 02:39:35 [UNKNOWN]: Well, we will see you then.
