Just past the mid-season moment where many tables have turned, Luke and Elysia are back with a mailbag full of community comments and questions about episodes 3 through 6 of Silo season 3. From the funniest and most far-fetched possibilities about lightware thievery, murder suspects, and fatherhood to earnest inquiries into the government and daily operations of the silo system and the characters within it, together we all share our hopes, gripes, praises, and personal artifacts that could become silo relics.

00:26 --> 00:33 [UNKNOWN]: Hello lovely listeners, Alicia here back with Luke again for yet another extra episode for your silo season three pleasure.
00:33 --> 00:37 [UNKNOWN]: We will soon have more episodes than they have light bulbs remaining.
00:39 --> 00:42 [UNKNOWN]: This is our second round up of community discussion this season.
00:42 --> 00:48 [UNKNOWN]: This time, focusing our mail bag on episodes three through six.
00:48 --> 00:50 [UNKNOWN]: And Luke, hit them with our usual spoiler policy.
00:51 --> 00:54 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, so the discussion will be spoiler free beyond what's already aired.
00:55 --> 01:08 [UNKNOWN]: That means full spoilers through Season 3 Episode 6, at least you can bring up anything from the books that's already happened on the screen, no discussion of book or trailer stuff that hasn't been on screen yet.
01:09 --> 01:18 [UNKNOWN]: But we will feel free to discuss the show universe, short story, the mystery of the pairs, about way to release special bonus episode last week.
01:20 --> 01:27 [UNKNOWN]: And, of course, if you're looking for the full spoiler discussions with all the book details, stay tuned until the end, we'll tell you more about the book club.
01:28 --> 01:32 [UNKNOWN]: And, yeah, so we have to say, Mailbag episodes are regular episodes.
01:32 --> 01:36 [UNKNOWN]: We never watch ahead of what we have, what we're talking about.
01:37 --> 01:45 [UNKNOWN]: For Mailbag episodes, we're doing them live, so we have watched, through episode 7, both of us, because we're about to record further that.
01:46 --> 01:46 [UNKNOWN]: See you next.
01:47 --> 01:49 [UNKNOWN]: but we also will not be talking about episode seven.
01:49 --> 01:51 [UNKNOWN]: We also will not be talking about episode seven.
01:52 --> 01:57 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, so firm line in the sand, I have full editing power to make sure that nothing slips through.
01:58 --> 02:02 [UNKNOWN]: Because it will, because it's me and I can never remember what happened in more episode.
02:03 --> 02:10 [UNKNOWN]: I'll remember when you were the line is Trump, but I will say episode seven is my favorite of the season so far and I'll just leave it at that.
02:11 --> 02:11 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
02:13 --> 02:17 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know if you have any similar feelings, but I episode 7 was very good.
02:17 --> 02:18 [UNKNOWN]: I'm not going to say anything.
02:18 --> 02:19 [UNKNOWN]: I'm not going to say anything.
02:19 --> 02:22 [UNKNOWN]: I'm not going to say anything.
02:23 --> 02:27 [UNKNOWN]: But yeah, in general, even though I have read the books.
02:27 --> 02:36 [UNKNOWN]: This show is like way off paced in a way that I'm personally enjoying, but it means that I do have room to speculate about like I have no idea what's going on with the light bulbs.
02:36 --> 02:37 [UNKNOWN]: Let's all find out together.
02:39 --> 02:42 [UNKNOWN]: Other than that, if I can't say anything, I will keep mum.
02:43 --> 02:45 [UNKNOWN]: Shall we get into the mailbag?
02:46 --> 02:46 [UNKNOWN]: What?
02:48 --> 02:51 [UNKNOWN]: Now opening the listener feedback channel.
02:52 --> 03:03 [UNKNOWN]: So we are going to talk through a feedback and community discussion episode by episode, but we will be focusing mostly on the most recent episodes, of course.
03:05 --> 03:10 [UNKNOWN]: And, you know, checking in on how people are feeling about the plot now and going forward.
03:10 --> 03:32 [UNKNOWN]: But there will be more highlights and emails to bring up along the way starting with we actually We got an email from Billy after episode 2, but it was um after our feedback went out for that So he says hey guys so glad to hear a new episode in my year after such a long wait for season 3 I've only watched the first two episodes at first.
03:32 --> 03:39 [UNKNOWN]: I was not pleased with the amnesia storyline I think it's a bad trope stereotype, but after watching the second episode
03:40 --> 03:41 [UNKNOWN]: I've had a complete turnaround.
03:42 --> 03:44 [UNKNOWN]: I think it's actually quite clever from a technical standpoint.
03:45 --> 03:49 [UNKNOWN]: We know the books split up, and the Donald Daniel storyline is standalone.
03:50 --> 03:56 [UNKNOWN]: This would obviously not work in the show as it would be too much of a shock not seeing Juliet for a whole season.
03:56 --> 04:08 [UNKNOWN]: Taking away Juliet's memory gives us a new storyline to follow alongside our DC storyline in a way that eventually she will, presumably, regain her memory and continue the original storyline.
04:10 --> 04:10 [UNKNOWN]: from the dust book.
04:11 --> 04:15 [UNKNOWN]: It also gives us more context into what's happening in DC.
04:15 --> 04:18 [UNKNOWN]: I think it's quite a clever way to have our cake and eat it too.
04:19 --> 04:23 [UNKNOWN]: Anyways, keep up the great work and I'm excited to see where the rest of the season goes.
04:23 --> 04:24 [UNKNOWN]: Billy.
04:24 --> 04:26 [UNKNOWN]: So yeah, that's Luke.
04:26 --> 04:29 [UNKNOWN]: Well, thanks for the thanks of the feedback, Billy.
04:29 --> 04:31 [UNKNOWN]: So Alicia has the book reader then.
04:32 --> 04:46 [UNKNOWN]: So am I right in thinking warless from what we would consider in the show the silo 18 point if you Then then there is another book that is entirely the DC storyline and then they come back together in third book
04:47 --> 05:04 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, well, so the second book has the DC storyline also it yeah, there's stuff we were probably not going to get even get revealed until the finale about this which we're starting to hear about silo one that's a big part of it and then also it does contain
05:05 --> 05:23 [UNKNOWN]: like flashbacks to both silos 17 and 18, so that's where in shift in the second book is where you get the backstory of solo growing up alone in the silo, where you get the story of the past revolution 140 years ago that features that character mission I keep bringing up.
05:24 --> 05:43 [UNKNOWN]: Um, and yeah, so that's, yeah, it's kind of jumping through time, tracing, it starts with the DC storyline and then, you know, continues, you see more from, um, of what happened in the past from, from a different perspective and I assume.
05:44 --> 05:46 [UNKNOWN]: that's going to be more next season.
05:46 --> 05:50 [UNKNOWN]: And so what they've done is because Julia doesn't share up until the last page of it.
05:51 --> 05:57 [UNKNOWN]: So what they've done is they're shifting some of the dust storyline into here, which I think makes a lot of sense.
05:57 --> 06:04 [UNKNOWN]: There's a big climax halfway through the bookdust that I think would make a great season finale for that part of the story.
06:05 --> 06:20 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, I just think it said it's another sort of, you know, we see this awful, we see little game drones, we see little house of the dragon, I imagine you see it with the one, I've watched the one part of the start, but I imagine you see it there as well.
06:20 --> 06:25 [UNKNOWN]: We, you know, books and television are just different, they're different art forms, they're different formats.
06:25 --> 06:45 [UNKNOWN]: They require the stories to be structured in different ways so that the audience is not spending too much or too little time with one's character because the thing about a book whether it's a physical book or a candle or an audio book is you can put it down and you can resume it.
06:47 --> 06:58 [UNKNOWN]: late a date whereas with TV's with TV and movies you should ideally be watching an episode through beginning to end in a single sitting so you've got to break it down into 45 minute.
06:58 --> 07:11 [UNKNOWN]: I want long chunks that are narratively satisfying and that don't and that's give the audience a sense of where all or most of the characters are at any given point.
07:12 --> 07:13 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah yeah.
07:14 --> 07:24 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, and I think book readers are just like asking show only to who are in who think that the DC storyline is irrelevant.
07:25 --> 07:32 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, I have trouble understanding that but just because like, you know, my question's always like, where this come from, how this began.
07:32 --> 07:34 [UNKNOWN]: So yeah, I'm gonna, I'm just like,
07:35 --> 07:40 [UNKNOWN]: Speaking as I shall only view her, I've never thought the DC story line was irrelevant.
07:41 --> 07:42 [UNKNOWN]: No.
07:42 --> 07:46 [UNKNOWN]: I thought it, I think it really, it really adds something to the story, right?
07:46 --> 07:53 [UNKNOWN]: You said in terms of showing us how we got here, but I do worry as the wrong word.
07:53 --> 08:00 [UNKNOWN]: I am interested how Daniel and Helen's story line is going to result because like I talked
08:02 --> 08:10 [UNKNOWN]: Episode review, either they've got to go along with the idea of the Silent, or they've got to be eliminated in some way.
08:11 --> 08:12 [UNKNOWN]: Those are your memories for them.
08:13 --> 08:15 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, those are really the only two options.
08:16 --> 08:18 [UNKNOWN]: that they either break bad or die.
08:18 --> 08:23 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, that they either break, but I can't see what a third option would be.
08:24 --> 08:26 [UNKNOWN]: You know what they do, how I answer to this would be.
08:27 --> 08:29 [UNKNOWN]: You'd be like, you know, every character dies eventually.
08:32 --> 08:45 [UNKNOWN]: We've just guessed before they have been somewhat more conservative and they started the same way as the books like you know Allison Holston John's Barnes boom boom boom boom boom.
08:45 --> 08:47 [UNKNOWN]: That's exactly how the books begin, but they have um
08:48 --> 09:13 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, there are definitely characters walking around who are dead in the books and then pop a nickels is gone Yeah, and I was I was like for two seasons desperately trying to kill our pop a nickels every all the Well Anyway, yeah, Billy was specifically talking about the men memory storyline and I think this is very well-pooked Billy Exactly what I would say as well
09:14 --> 09:28 [UNKNOWN]: And I think I hope people now start to see why it's creating a greater tension, and I think their will definitely be more ties together with it for sure.
09:28 --> 09:28 [UNKNOWN]: So.
09:30 --> 09:30 [UNKNOWN]: All right.
09:30 --> 09:33 [UNKNOWN]: So we get into episode three feedback.
09:34 --> 09:35 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, let's.
09:36 --> 09:38 [UNKNOWN]: So we have from Rebecca Fan on Discord.
09:38 --> 09:40 [UNKNOWN]: I'm enjoying the season so far.
09:40 --> 09:52 [UNKNOWN]: This is after episode 3, so I hope you still are And they said it is so much better than the second season while I still like the silo story better I like the characters of the flashbacks.
09:52 --> 09:57 [UNKNOWN]: The story is good, but I keep wondering where our molder and scully LOL
09:59 --> 10:05 [UNKNOWN]: Camille is fantastic props to Alexandria Riley and is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters.
10:05 --> 10:10 [UNKNOWN]: Finally, thank god Juliet has something interesting to do with the six.
10:11 --> 10:16 [UNKNOWN]: When the reporter gets fired and at the veterans gathering, there was some...
10:16 --> 10:19 [UNKNOWN]: old in a suit and white hair lurking about.
10:19 --> 10:31 [UNKNOWN]: During the mythology episodes of the ex files, there was always someone lurking about, um, come to think of it, the flashback sequence have an ex files vibe, and then they wrote it again after episode four.
10:31 --> 10:39 [UNKNOWN]: Getting the exfiles vibes again, especially with Daniel, the dude mumbles is sarcastic and sleeps on a couch, though not voluntarily.
10:39 --> 10:45 [UNKNOWN]: Helen has skullies fire, but not her conviction, but that's understandable.
10:46 --> 10:50 [UNKNOWN]: I did like that the writers made Helen want to back away from her investigation.
10:51 --> 10:54 [UNKNOWN]: I do wish they had explored that part a bit longer.
10:55 --> 10:58 [UNKNOWN]: Luke, you always have the X-Files connections?
10:59 --> 11:07 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, so actually, I don't know if people are aware of this, but there is a director's cuts of X-Files.
11:07 --> 11:12 [UNKNOWN]: I want to believe, which is the second X-Files movie coming to Disney Plus.
11:13 --> 11:21 [UNKNOWN]: I think next week, I think we're recording this on the 9th of August, so yeah, I think it's out on the down, Disney Plus on the 15th.
11:23 --> 11:38 [UNKNOWN]: Chris Carter, the creator of X-Files, and the director of that film was always very unhappy with how to find this cinematic cut of that film, Katey Malts, and he's always wanted the opportunity.
11:39 --> 11:50 [UNKNOWN]: to re-cut it, as far as I can tell, to make it more gory because they wanted to, yeah, when it was released, they wanted a PG-13 rating.
11:51 --> 11:55 [UNKNOWN]: So yeah, I think that's out on Disney Plus this coming week.
11:56 --> 12:04 [UNKNOWN]: As far as the analogy between Molder and Scully and Daniel and Howard, I can definitely see some of Molder
12:05 --> 12:10 [UNKNOWN]: And Daniel, and it would be interesting to ask you how we, whether it's next file is fun.
12:10 --> 12:17 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, and there is definitely smoking, man, and a G to Henry.
12:17 --> 12:19 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
12:21 --> 12:26 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I think I also, I wonder Rebecca Fan, how you're feeling about Camille now.
12:27 --> 12:28 [UNKNOWN]: The character,
12:29 --> 12:41 [UNKNOWN]: There's, well, we'll get to some feedback that kind of wants to say maybe Camille isn't as bad as we think she is, so I'm curious where you lie on that spectrum as well.
12:42 --> 12:49 [UNKNOWN]: Let's jump to Josh Liu who said, I'm listening to the podcast in the X-Files 1013 screen name is a great Easter egg.
12:49 --> 12:53 [UNKNOWN]: I can still hear that very disturbing child say I made this.
12:53 --> 12:57 [UNKNOWN]: Over the 1013 logo after every episode.
12:58 --> 13:04 [UNKNOWN]: Maybe you're already noted this, but, oh, no, we didn't note this, Josh, so thank you.
13:05 --> 13:10 [UNKNOWN]: I MB tracked comment is Steve's cohorts saying that they're being tracked, right?
13:10 --> 13:12 [UNKNOWN]: Seems Steve was as well.
13:13 --> 13:15 [UNKNOWN]: That is a very good spot, Josh.
13:16 --> 13:19 [UNKNOWN]: Like, well done, you get serious into that point for that.
13:20 --> 13:22 [UNKNOWN]: Seriously into that point, well done.
13:23 --> 13:48 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, so I mean, I wonder who that suggests that this other person that they're looking for who Steve was talking to is not Henry or from the government, like the person he was playing chess with and the person he presumably got that audio recording from is not Henry or from the government, but is indeed, yeah, who probably this person in Moldova who recorded it or something like that.
13:48 --> 13:52 [UNKNOWN]: And I mean, let's better mind, we don't actually know what happened to Steve.
13:52 --> 13:56 [UNKNOWN]: We have Henry's, we have Henry's explanation of what happened to Steve.
13:56 --> 14:00 [UNKNOWN]: But we don't know whether that's true or not.
14:00 --> 14:01 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, absolutely.
14:01 --> 14:02 [UNKNOWN]: Yep.
14:03 --> 14:06 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, so many moving pieces in the show.
14:06 --> 14:09 [UNKNOWN]: I'm like, I know there's four episodes left, but there's a lot to do.
14:11 --> 14:21 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, so why B says, and so this is in response to a discussion on the discord about there being a separation between the economic system.
14:22 --> 14:43 [UNKNOWN]: of something and the governance system of governance, so for example, whether you are communists like we are saying in the silo we're talking about child care and the things like that are in place, it's not related to being a democracy or being in the case of the silo we find out a dictatorship.
14:44 --> 15:09 [UNKNOWN]: So about on this topic, so if I be says, I work in climate justice litigation and one criticism we Westerners get from Central and Eastern Europe and global South colleagues is that our rhetoric completes capitalism with exclamation and oppression and fetishizes socialism when people growing up in Soviet Union for example have a different perspective on freedom in agency.
15:09 --> 15:16 [UNKNOWN]: So now I try to focus on good governance safeguards, not that kind of safeguard, and separation of powers.
15:16 --> 15:25 [UNKNOWN]: I like how in the show they aren't naming political parties because it's asking the bigger questions about humanity, control, and what is worth fighting for.
15:26 --> 15:40 [UNKNOWN]: And just to add to this marine day he said I had an interesting conversation with someone from Slovakia years ago in the 90s She said that before democracy came they all had jobs and the kids had education So they were all like thanks a lot.
15:40 --> 15:52 [UNKNOWN]: It burst the myth that I'd have of us the saviors And I feel like I should have asked Abby who grew up in Romania to weigh in on this but
15:54 --> 15:57 [UNKNOWN]: Um, yeah, I definitely have heard from an older generation.
15:57 --> 15:59 [UNKNOWN]: There's a nostalgia for
16:01 --> 16:08 [UNKNOWN]: for the communist days, but I think really, it's not like, and people say, oh, democracy ruined.
16:08 --> 16:09 [UNKNOWN]: I don't think democracy ruined.
16:09 --> 16:11 [UNKNOWN]: I think capitalism did personally.
16:12 --> 16:13 [UNKNOWN]: Where do your thoughts, Luke?
16:13 --> 16:18 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, and I mean, I think that very much depends on who you speak to generationally.
16:18 --> 16:26 [UNKNOWN]: I think it also depends on what country you're talking about, because it's quite, it's cool.
16:27 --> 16:42 [UNKNOWN]: Uh, it's very reductive to label like the entire Soviet Union and Eastern Europe as one place countries have had like vastly different experiences of uh, of uh, of a postcoming this time period.
16:42 --> 16:48 [UNKNOWN]: So you can't really compare the likes of Lithuania and Estonia, for example,
16:55 --> 17:14 [UNKNOWN]: what strikes me, so I get a fair number of students from from former Soviet republics doing this strategic studies program at some countries, and what strikes me about them if as a group is there's sort of commitment to
17:16 --> 17:28 [UNKNOWN]: No, let me, let me rephrase it, it's their understanding of security as perhaps different from a British-American Western European understanding of security.
17:29 --> 17:42 [UNKNOWN]: In the sense that they are often from nations who are either actively engaged in the conflict, like Ukraine, for example, or someone like Azerbaijan or Armenia,
17:42 --> 17:56 [UNKNOWN]: There have very recently been engaged in conflict, or somewhere where military security is much more of an existential threat, or somewhere like the Baltic States, for example.
17:56 --> 18:02 [UNKNOWN]: We've had generations of Russian occupation going back hundreds of years.
18:07 --> 18:19 [UNKNOWN]: bay treats issues of strategy and military security, much more as live issues than say German or French or British or American students don't.
18:21 --> 18:31 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I don't know if that really answered the question, but yeah, yeah, I mean, I'm not sure if there was, it's more a topic of thought of conversation.
18:31 --> 18:42 [UNKNOWN]: So if anyone wants to jump into the episode three chat and pick up on this, we would love to hear your thoughts about this as well, or send in an email and we'll discuss it in the episode, but I think it is,
18:43 --> 18:55 [UNKNOWN]: It basically boils down to the same thing, everything boils down to him, people hate the censor, but it's always, it's more complex than you think it is, it's gone, it's a London contrast.
18:55 --> 18:58 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
18:58 --> 19:01 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, so so far, B continues on a lighter note.
19:01 --> 19:10 [UNKNOWN]: We are renovating our house and as a fan of mid-century modern retro, I can't help noticing how many of the lamps and wall lamps in the silo are from Made.com.
19:10 --> 19:10 [UNKNOWN]: So.
19:11 --> 19:15 [UNKNOWN]: If you like this Charlotte silo art deco style check out made.com.
19:15 --> 19:19 [UNKNOWN]: They are not sponsoring us, but please let them know to feel free to.
19:19 --> 19:22 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I mean, if they want to, they want to, they are want to welcome to.
19:23 --> 19:25 [UNKNOWN]: That name again is made.com.
19:27 --> 19:32 [UNKNOWN]: I know, so boy V says, I'm just here for Kathleen Billings Good Witch Energy.
19:32 --> 19:45 [UNKNOWN]: The woman knows her herbs, challenges the establishment and is inspired by images of nature, bringing it on for like that such a good way to sum it up, because these things about these three things are all true.
19:47 --> 19:49 [UNKNOWN]: She is actually the silo witch and I love it.
19:54 --> 19:57 [UNKNOWN]: This sof says, just waiting for the algo to say, good catch.
19:57 --> 20:08 [UNKNOWN]: We nearly implemented the safe guard, which your suggestion makes Phoenix's out of gorillas' Camille, would you like me to put together a list of five alternative ways to kill a bunch of innocent minors if you like.
20:08 --> 20:14 [UNKNOWN]: I could export it to an Excel spreadsheet just because the last part's extra devilish.
20:17 --> 20:20 [UNKNOWN]: You have used up your daily allowance of genital wisdom.
20:21 --> 20:26 [UNKNOWN]: Please upgrade your subscription to fascist Supremo level or check back in at 0.1, 0.
20:37 --> 20:39 [UNKNOWN]: So thank you so, but I definitely lightened it up.
20:44 --> 20:56 [UNKNOWN]: So still disgusting, if I said three Jenny said, I keep thinking about how the algorithm told Camille that if Lucas was attempting to reach another silo, that would be considered a safeguard level event.
20:56 --> 20:59 [UNKNOWN]: This got me thinking about experimental controls.
20:59 --> 21:01 [UNKNOWN]: What if the silos are just some grand experiment?
21:01 --> 21:05 [UNKNOWN]: So people mixing from one silo to another would ruin their data.
21:05 --> 21:07 [UNKNOWN]: But what is the experiment?
21:07 --> 21:10 [UNKNOWN]: I'm starting to think Luke has the right idea.
21:10 --> 21:23 [UNKNOWN]: Aliens have taken over Earth and humanity has been reduced to test mice in a lab underground, or maybe cellos mixing with other silos would just cause too much creative thoughts for and potential for progress or unrest.
21:24 --> 21:29 [UNKNOWN]: See, this is the issue I have with the whole idea of being a social experiment.
21:30 --> 21:45 [UNKNOWN]: I'm not saying it couldn't happen, but you'd have to get 50 people to want to move into your, yeah, you'd have to get 10 people or however many people to want to move into the silos.
21:46 --> 21:47 [UNKNOWN]: But you assume they're volunteers.
21:47 --> 21:51 [UNKNOWN]: I know a lot of people when they bring up stuff like this are also thinking about fallout.
21:51 --> 21:53 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know if you're a fan of that world.
21:53 --> 21:54 [UNKNOWN]: No, I haven't watched that.
21:55 --> 22:03 [UNKNOWN]: but it was sort of like people wanted to live underground to save themselves from the apocalypse, but they didn't realize that they were becoming experiments.
22:04 --> 22:06 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, that's the fallout explanation.
22:07 --> 22:19 [UNKNOWN]: So I suppose the what the fuck cloud could just be a red harring to persuade people to want to move into the silos.
22:21 --> 22:32 [UNKNOWN]: Because like leaving aside the ethical and experimental implications for a second, how are you going to force?
22:33 --> 22:38 [UNKNOWN]: You know, there's 10 silos times 50 so that's what half a million people.
22:41 --> 22:44 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, yeah, 500.
22:44 --> 22:45 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, have a million.
22:45 --> 22:45 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
22:45 --> 22:46 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
22:46 --> 22:47 [UNKNOWN]: So that's 500 people.
22:48 --> 22:50 [UNKNOWN]: How would you fall even if you wanted to?
22:50 --> 22:54 [UNKNOWN]: Let's assume that you want to and let's assume you're okay with the ethical implications.
22:55 --> 23:02 [UNKNOWN]: How are you going to force 500 people into silos without the rest of the world noticing?
23:03 --> 23:07 [UNKNOWN]: And it still doesn't explain why the air is toxic outside.
23:07 --> 23:08 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
23:09 --> 23:09 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
23:10 --> 23:13 [UNKNOWN]: So, I'm not saying it can't be a social experiment.
23:14 --> 23:17 [UNKNOWN]: I'm just saying there has to be something else going on at the same time.
23:17 --> 23:18 [UNKNOWN]: As well.
23:19 --> 23:19 [UNKNOWN]: Mm-hmm.
23:20 --> 23:20 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
23:20 --> 23:22 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, maybe the answer has layers, yeah.
23:23 --> 23:27 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, but I mean, I think this is picking at very interesting.
23:28 --> 23:42 [UNKNOWN]: And particularly, Jenny's highlighting why would you want to keep silos apart and saying that when you mix, yeah, sure, for social experiment, things, you want to keep each sample clean.
23:43 --> 23:48 [UNKNOWN]: But also, you know, uncontaminated by the others, basically, no cross-contamination.
23:51 --> 24:08 [UNKNOWN]: They do, in general, try to limit communication in a lot of ways we've heard, you know, with not having elevators or, you know, they emphasize this actually more in the books than in the show, but it's expensive to send computer messages so you have to do it by Porter.
24:08 --> 24:10 [UNKNOWN]: So it's slower and it's harder to organize blah, blah, blah, blah.
24:12 --> 24:14 [UNKNOWN]: definitely all that stuff in the order.
24:15 --> 24:16 [UNKNOWN]: So, good point, Jenny.
24:17 --> 24:21 [UNKNOWN]: Now, here's kind of a bombshell thing that it wasn't sent to us.
24:21 --> 24:28 [UNKNOWN]: I just stumbled across this on Reddit, but it appears to answer the question of what year the flashbacks take place in.
24:29 --> 24:33 [UNKNOWN]: And it is, I'm sorry, I didn't look closely enough.
24:33 --> 24:42 [UNKNOWN]: I saw this computer code on the screen that was scanning Daniel's ID in episode three when Hacker Steve's scan Daniel's ID.
24:43 --> 24:49 [UNKNOWN]: And I didn't notice that there's a date in there that says it's November of 2024.
24:49 --> 24:50 [UNKNOWN]: OK.
24:59 --> 24:59 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
25:00 --> 25:02 [UNKNOWN]: Or the last time he accessed the building.
25:03 --> 25:04 [UNKNOWN]: So, okay.
25:04 --> 25:08 [UNKNOWN]: So thank you to Gloucester, who am I saying that, Gloucester?
25:09 --> 25:09 [UNKNOWN]: Dave.
25:10 --> 25:10 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, Gloucester.
25:11 --> 25:11 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
25:12 --> 25:16 [UNKNOWN]: Thank you Gloucester, Dave, on the Silo TV series Reddit.
25:18 --> 25:18 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
25:19 --> 25:21 [UNKNOWN]: So let's take a quick break here.
25:21 --> 25:24 [UNKNOWN]: And when we come back, we'll get into episode four and beyond.
25:25 --> 25:25 [UNKNOWN]: Be right back.
25:29 --> 25:47 [UNKNOWN]: All right, so checking him with Jenny again for episode four about why all the pickle talk They are met I'm metaphor for humans pickling in the silos Jenny that hadn't occurred to me, but you know what that is a bloody good metaphor actually I'm I'm liking that
25:50 --> 26:05 [UNKNOWN]: And so for YB says about Gloria's continued absence, though Sophie Thompson, aka Gloria, is quite a big name for one season cameo, but Silo is a who's who's of British darlings, also Emma Thompson's sister.
26:05 --> 26:08 [UNKNOWN]: She also married Bernard in four weddings in a funeral.
26:09 --> 26:16 [UNKNOWN]: And I'll just say that I really appreciate everyone's continued support in my quest for Gloria.
26:16 --> 26:17 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
26:17 --> 26:21 [UNKNOWN]: By the way, when she said to mode, but not we're not talking about Tim Robbins.
26:21 --> 26:24 [UNKNOWN]: No, the character in four weddings in the funeral was named Bernard.
26:24 --> 26:25 [UNKNOWN]: Right, right, right.
26:25 --> 26:27 [UNKNOWN]: Not played by Tim Robbins, but yeah.
26:27 --> 26:27 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
26:28 --> 26:31 [UNKNOWN]: They would have been a really funny coincidence if it was, though.
26:31 --> 26:31 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
26:32 --> 26:44 [UNKNOWN]: And then the last one for episode four, Brandels says there is a question on the podcast about why Georgia, I immediately thought of the Georgia guidestones.
26:44 --> 26:54 [UNKNOWN]: Maybe the silos are in Georgia because the guidestones are nearby, and the founders thought when the world was okay to live in again, the people would come out and see them.
26:55 --> 26:56 [UNKNOWN]: Do you, are you familiar with the Georgia?
26:56 --> 26:59 [UNKNOWN]: No, I'm not familiar with the Georgia guidestones.
27:00 --> 27:03 [UNKNOWN]: So um, I didn't realize they had actually been taken down.
27:03 --> 27:10 [UNKNOWN]: I know there was a lot of push to do so, but so they are no longer there now, but they were there from 1980 to 2022.
27:10 --> 27:11 [UNKNOWN]: So it was also Hugh, how he was.
27:16 --> 27:18 [UNKNOWN]: writing these books during that time as well.
27:18 --> 27:27 [UNKNOWN]: But it was like this big statue with, and maybe someone else wants to write in with more information.
27:27 --> 27:29 [UNKNOWN]: But it's basically its biblical text.
27:29 --> 27:31 [UNKNOWN]: It's like a big
27:31 --> 27:33 [UNKNOWN]: Bible statue, more or less.
27:33 --> 27:33 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
27:34 --> 27:35 [UNKNOWN]: But it's the way it's set up.
27:35 --> 27:41 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, it's kind of some people called it the American Stonehenge because it's like these, uh, propped up things.
27:41 --> 27:54 [UNKNOWN]: But, um, so yeah, if it were a biblical society is the implication, it would be like you come out and, um, yeah, you, you see this and receive the word of God.
27:54 --> 27:57 [UNKNOWN]: Although the only religion we've seen so far
28:01 --> 28:18 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, if they do that at the end of season four, they have to get a CGI Charlton Heston, you know, to turn up and read out tons, come on then, and then you see, yeah, you see the statue of Liberty sticking out of the wasteland, exactly, yeah.
28:20 --> 28:44 [UNKNOWN]: Brandels continues also Shirley Scar could have be where she took out her birth control device in the first episode Susan one share of Holston's wife cut hers out of her hip and goes to the cafeteria bleeding to tell everyone And I just wanted to give you credit brandels Here's your internet points for being the first person I saw to mention this and plant this in my head And it turns out to have been correct.
28:44 --> 28:45 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
28:45 --> 28:46 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
28:46 --> 28:51 [UNKNOWN]: Also, not to take, I'm going to take a couple of internet points off you name was Alison.
28:53 --> 28:53 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, right.
28:53 --> 28:55 [UNKNOWN]: She's not sure if Holston is born.
28:56 --> 28:57 [UNKNOWN]: My name was Alison.
28:57 --> 28:58 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
28:58 --> 28:59 [UNKNOWN]: She was her own person.
29:00 --> 29:00 [UNKNOWN]: She was a hacker.
29:03 --> 29:04 [UNKNOWN]: Hmm.
29:04 --> 29:05 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
29:05 --> 29:08 [UNKNOWN]: Let's get into episode five.
29:08 --> 29:10 [UNKNOWN]: We're things start to people like this episode.
29:10 --> 29:12 [UNKNOWN]: It's a lot of people's favorite episode, I think.
29:13 --> 29:19 [UNKNOWN]: We got an email from Rhys O and Rhys says here from Arizona.
29:19 --> 29:23 [UNKNOWN]: She, her absolutely obsessed with this show and love listening to you guys afterwards.
29:24 --> 29:27 [UNKNOWN]: Just wanted to share a couple of thoughts after episode five.
29:27 --> 29:27 [UNKNOWN]: Well, thank you first
29:31 --> 29:43 [UNKNOWN]: you make me blush, reading them out, but Reese says if Bernard was explicitly not aware of the failsafe mechanism, why did the algorithm tell Camille that I missed something here?
29:45 --> 29:55 [UNKNOWN]: So yeah, do you, I mean, I think I have an answer for that, but I don't know if you want to... No, I think that's a very good question, Rhys.
29:56 --> 29:58 [UNKNOWN]: I think it may have something to do.
29:59 --> 30:06 [UNKNOWN]: with the, from the algorithm's point of view, with the evidence of needing to, so put the D12 in the water.
30:07 --> 30:12 [UNKNOWN]: Um, because like, in order to see a deep plus sorry, you don't why did that.
30:12 --> 30:22 [UNKNOWN]: Um, yeah, um, because in order to get to come to, uh, cooperate with that, she needs to be aware that there is a full of sort of alternatives.
30:23 --> 30:23 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
30:24 --> 30:37 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I think that that is it's also I think the algorithm knew that I think for me the bigger question is why did the door downstairs tell Lucas?
30:38 --> 30:47 [UNKNOWN]: Because then Lucas told Bernard, I guess maybe it was about to happen that second and we definitely really need to see the other side of the story and I don't know if we're going to get it this season or next.
30:48 --> 30:50 [UNKNOWN]: It's the door not downstairs
30:52 --> 30:57 [UNKNOWN]: I mean it's it seems to be this the same voice the same system.
30:57 --> 30:58 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
30:58 --> 31:04 [UNKNOWN]: So why in that case, why tell Lucas about it in the first place of Bernard never knew before that.
31:05 --> 31:05 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
31:05 --> 31:09 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, I think we all I think we all right in saying the banana, but yeah, because
31:11 --> 31:24 [UNKNOWN]: No, he did not until when upstairs and told him after this and I think it's because it was imminent, but all I'll say is that we definitely need to see the other side of this story.
31:25 --> 31:26 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, definitely.
31:26 --> 31:26 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
31:27 --> 31:34 [UNKNOWN]: We need another perspective on this before we have answers or at least some more explanations for sure.
31:34 --> 31:36 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, these are good questions to raise.
31:37 --> 31:44 [UNKNOWN]: But I think why Camille is be basically because if Bernard and Lucas know Camille needs to know what she's dealing with.
31:45 --> 31:46 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
31:46 --> 31:52 [UNKNOWN]: She can't, they algorithm can't let the voice can't let the others have more information than she has.
31:54 --> 31:59 [UNKNOWN]: Now, and then Reese goes on to ask, what can the algorithm actually see or do?
31:59 --> 32:02 [UNKNOWN]: This has been the most confusing part of season three for me.
32:02 --> 32:04 [UNKNOWN]: Does it have access to all the cameras?
32:04 --> 32:06 [UNKNOWN]: If so, wouldn't it be able to infer so much more?
32:07 --> 32:14 [UNKNOWN]: Things like the tense conversations between the Sims couple, Juliet and Sims lengthy talk in the middle of the stairwell.
32:14 --> 32:18 [UNKNOWN]: Sims suspiciously traveling to mechanical, the list goes on.
32:19 --> 32:24 [UNKNOWN]: It also seems like Camille reports things to it as if it doesn't already know what's happening in the silo.
32:24 --> 32:31 [UNKNOWN]: I'm worried this could be a plot hole or is the algorithm either hiding what it knows or not as powerful as it claims.
32:33 --> 32:37 [UNKNOWN]: I see the answer to all this is just like basically cameras.
32:38 --> 32:40 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I think so.
32:40 --> 32:43 [UNKNOWN]: But I will go one step further.
32:43 --> 32:46 [UNKNOWN]: I sort of hinted at this in a couple of the episode reviews.
32:47 --> 32:57 [UNKNOWN]: I'm strongly of the opinion that there are a small number of cameras that the algorithm has access to the humans within the silent don't.
32:59 --> 32:59 [UNKNOWN]: I kind of imagine that.
33:00 --> 33:00 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
33:01 --> 33:08 [UNKNOWN]: So I think the in the control room where Emerson and Diego obviously are.
33:08 --> 33:16 [UNKNOWN]: I think they can see maybe 90% of the cameras, but there's 10% that only the algorithm sees.
33:18 --> 33:28 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, and it also might be that the writers are holding back certain information for us like about things that certain characters are up to that we're not seeing at the moment.
33:30 --> 33:32 [UNKNOWN]: They do like to tell the story that way.
33:32 --> 33:38 [UNKNOWN]: So I think there might be more explanations in that regard as well.
33:38 --> 33:44 [UNKNOWN]: Because I'm going to throw a question out here to give a leadership, but also to anybody that wants to answer it.
33:49 --> 33:50 [UNKNOWN]: because to me, it looks like they have.
33:51 --> 33:52 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, you think?
33:52 --> 33:52 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
33:53 --> 33:55 [UNKNOWN]: You think it's not the same apartment they were in before.
33:55 --> 34:00 [UNKNOWN]: I have to, yeah, maybe I have to be honest.
34:00 --> 34:02 [UNKNOWN]: Is it set up the same way?
34:03 --> 34:04 [UNKNOWN]: The color is a different.
34:04 --> 34:09 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, I suppose all the silo apartments are copypaced more than that.
34:09 --> 34:11 [UNKNOWN]: And they were both in high up apartments.
34:12 --> 34:16 [UNKNOWN]: I think they're, but I think they're in a larger apartment now than they were in season two.
34:17 --> 34:32 [UNKNOWN]: You'd, uh, it felt like their apartment was pretty big in season one when Juliet went in there and they had like the Kitch, the room with the computer next to the kitchen, all the way back was a slightly different layout and then the bed room around the corner.
34:32 --> 34:41 [UNKNOWN]: Well, the only reason I say that is because I, if I, if I were with the algorithm or the person designing the algorithm.
34:42 --> 34:47 [UNKNOWN]: I would want them to have access to cameras, particularly in the head of IT's apartment.
34:48 --> 34:50 [UNKNOWN]: The head of IT wasn't aware of.
34:50 --> 34:51 [UNKNOWN]: Right, right, of course.
34:52 --> 34:52 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
34:53 --> 34:57 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, but we do also see things like Camille not telling Robert.
34:57 --> 35:01 [UNKNOWN]: I'm having you followed it and him saying like, I know I'm being fun.
35:01 --> 35:05 [UNKNOWN]: I know what I've been doing this for 20 years or however long.
35:05 --> 35:06 [UNKNOWN]: I could spot a tail.
35:06 --> 35:06 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
35:07 --> 35:14 [UNKNOWN]: So yeah, I think there's also just we're not having getting all the information of what everyone knows.
35:14 --> 35:15 [UNKNOWN]: Like people are playing games.
35:16 --> 35:21 [UNKNOWN]: And we don't know what games Camille's playing with the algorithm or she and Robert with each other.
35:22 --> 35:25 [UNKNOWN]: Also, I know it's done this way, so the audience doesn't miss it.
35:26 --> 35:30 [UNKNOWN]: But the people tailings, uh, Robert Sims are not with the ill of the cell.
35:30 --> 35:34 [UNKNOWN]: So I do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do.
35:37 --> 35:44 [UNKNOWN]: And Reece says, my latest tin foil hat theory, I'm starting to wonder if this really is some kind of experiment.
35:44 --> 35:48 [UNKNOWN]: Why build 50 silo so close but completely isolated?
35:49 --> 35:54 [UNKNOWN]: The reset ability and fail save all feel also feel very experiment like.
35:54 --> 35:58 [UNKNOWN]: and what does every good experiment need and independent variable?
35:58 --> 36:07 [UNKNOWN]: So maybe each silo is run a little differently, maybe they're testing different forms of government such control, no clue how the weird goo fits into that, though.
36:07 --> 36:11 [UNKNOWN]: So I guess, yeah, we talked about that, especially with the last question, but do we not add to it?
36:12 --> 36:21 [UNKNOWN]: Well, all I would add to that is, from what we know of silo 17 and what Jimmy was telling us, what Jimmy touched solo was telling us.
36:22 --> 36:23 [UNKNOWN]: last season.
36:23 --> 36:30 [UNKNOWN]: It seems like Silent Seventeen at least was run on very similar principles to silo 18.
36:31 --> 36:38 [UNKNOWN]: Like their names for things were different, but what they actually did and how works seem to be the same.
36:39 --> 36:39 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
36:40 --> 36:41 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, exactly.
36:41 --> 36:49 [UNKNOWN]: And that's Julia was saying in more of recent episodes in this that they seem pretty similar when she remembered 17.
36:49 --> 36:50 [UNKNOWN]: She said six.
36:50 --> 36:52 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, but she was talking about the physical.
36:53 --> 36:53 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
36:53 --> 36:54 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
36:54 --> 36:54 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
36:56 --> 36:57 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
36:57 --> 37:04 [UNKNOWN]: But yeah, we saw, friends and solo in this classroom and it looks like what we saw with Anthony and his classroom.
37:04 --> 37:08 [UNKNOWN]: So yeah, I like they have their own version of founders day that wasn't cool.
37:09 --> 37:13 [UNKNOWN]: Founders day, but it was the same thing for you today or something or vice versa.
37:13 --> 37:13 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
37:13 --> 37:15 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, something like that.
37:15 --> 37:15 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
37:15 --> 37:16 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
37:17 --> 37:33 [UNKNOWN]: And then Reese's last question says also who is in silo one it has to be someone right or aliens Cheers guys latest silo one theories I can't get into that without spoiling episodes Okay, okay, come back for episode 4 episode 7 review
37:34 --> 37:35 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, yeah fair enough.
37:36 --> 37:37 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, yeah, ever since.
37:37 --> 37:40 [UNKNOWN]: It's having, does a lot.
37:40 --> 37:42 [UNKNOWN]: It covers a lot of ground, I'll say anyway.
37:42 --> 37:42 [UNKNOWN]: It does.
37:42 --> 37:43 [UNKNOWN]: It does.
37:44 --> 37:47 [UNKNOWN]: Motorwriters D says, what are they called?
37:47 --> 37:47 [UNKNOWN]: Channels?
37:47 --> 37:56 [UNKNOWN]: I laughed at this line because Martha knows frequencies, but not channels, and I find it funny because I've always considered them to go hand in hand as an RF professional.
37:56 --> 38:03 [UNKNOWN]: But of course, in the silo, that doesn't mean they would know the concept of a channel versus a frequency range, nerd face emoji.
38:06 --> 38:08 [UNKNOWN]: I'm very excited to see what they can do with the radios.
38:09 --> 38:18 [UNKNOWN]: Martha's shop at the end of the episode had so many people that now know everything this is bad for the algorithm and I hope they find the poison tube and capit ASAP.
38:18 --> 38:21 [UNKNOWN]: So thoughts about the radios and Martha's growing?
38:21 --> 38:26 [UNKNOWN]: Well, I wouldn't want to match with an RF professional.
38:27 --> 38:39 [UNKNOWN]: So I'm going to leave that well enough like but yeah at this point it would almost be easier to name the characters that weren't in on the conspiracy as opposed to the ones I don't care.
38:39 --> 38:41 [UNKNOWN]: I love it when people are just talking to each other
38:43 --> 38:49 [UNKNOWN]: But like yeah, yeah, they yeah, they better cap that party for like yeah pretty quick.
38:50 --> 38:58 [UNKNOWN]: Although I did I did laugh when Billings immediately he's like Carly's like don't tell anyone about the life bulbs and he's like, no, no way.
38:58 --> 38:59 [UNKNOWN]: We don't want to start a panic.
38:59 --> 39:03 [UNKNOWN]: Hank, hey Hank, hey old buddy haven't seen you in episodes.
39:03 --> 39:05 [UNKNOWN]: Let me tell you about the life bulbs.
39:12 --> 39:18 [UNKNOWN]: But hey, I mean, let's get to team up page and get this, you know, get this party started.
39:18 --> 39:27 [UNKNOWN]: Well, what, what, what, you know what you're always saying about play communication, that doesn't, that's a classic example of play communication.
39:27 --> 39:34 [UNKNOWN]: Barb's 27.95 also said, I am living for terrible people having a good thing about all the awful stuff they've done.
39:34 --> 39:37 [UNKNOWN]: Totally agree with the comment about Sims trying his hardest to save
39:41 --> 39:41 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
39:42 --> 39:47 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I think there was a lot of discussion about whether Sims was being empathetic enough to comeyle at this point.
39:48 --> 39:51 [UNKNOWN]: And I think that
39:52 --> 40:18 [UNKNOWN]: I think that you know the problem with them as a couple is they're like we tell each other everything couple and we keep seeing over and over that that's just not true at all they're both keeping rampant secrets from each other for instance that a book that he wrote about the pez he kept that from communal because he thought he was protecting her and so like they are constantly keeping things from each other but for
40:19 --> 40:23 [UNKNOWN]: well-meaning reasons, but we see that driving a wedge between them.
40:23 --> 40:27 [UNKNOWN]: But I don't think it's a lack of you know empathy or loving each other.
40:27 --> 40:33 [UNKNOWN]: I think it's um that they need to just be more direct at each other to be honest.
40:35 --> 40:36 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, probably.
40:37 --> 40:42 [UNKNOWN]: But the thing is at this point being direct with each other might get one or both of them killed.
40:42 --> 40:44 [UNKNOWN]: So that's easier said than done.
40:44 --> 40:45 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, that's fair.
40:45 --> 40:46 [UNKNOWN]: That's fair.
40:48 --> 40:53 [UNKNOWN]: We had a lot of fun discussion and theorizing about lightbulb theft.
40:53 --> 41:03 [UNKNOWN]: So, yeah, first of all, just to point because there's discussion about this point, we know, like there's discussion, what are the lightbulbs used for?
41:03 --> 41:07 [UNKNOWN]: We know they're at least used for two things that are essential to the silo.
41:07 --> 41:08 [UNKNOWN]: One is, of course, growing the food.
41:09 --> 41:15 [UNKNOWN]: And the other is that these are the daylight simulation lightbulbs in the central shaft.
41:16 --> 41:21 [UNKNOWN]: So that's what I think Carla meant about, you know, we'll be in the dark.
41:22 --> 41:30 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, because if they were just lightbulb, you know, ordinary lightbulb, they would surely be able to produce them in the silo.
41:30 --> 41:32 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know why they would be in critical supply.
41:33 --> 41:43 [UNKNOWN]: I think what makes them critical supply is the mechanism that has them turn on and off in such a way as to simulate sunlight.
41:46 --> 41:56 [UNKNOWN]: or that that was at least what my head came and said because I'd like that would get that you would need you would need my chips in order to be able to do that.
41:56 --> 41:57 [UNKNOWN]: We know they can't produce.
41:57 --> 42:03 [UNKNOWN]: I still don't know if they can produce tungsten for you know the filaments.
42:04 --> 42:04 [UNKNOWN]: That's true.
42:04 --> 42:05 [UNKNOWN]: That's true.
42:06 --> 42:07 [UNKNOWN]: I'm not sure.
42:07 --> 42:09 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, we could use some engineer input on this.
42:09 --> 42:13 [UNKNOWN]: Like, I'm trying to look at it seems complicated.
42:13 --> 42:16 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know if it includes like microscopic parts.
42:16 --> 42:20 [UNKNOWN]: Because we know, for example, they're not allowed to do ultrasound, so not allowed to have elevators, you know?
42:20 --> 42:30 [UNKNOWN]: Because they didn't, I might be misrememberous, but didn't, um, hardwood in one episode, say that what they were mining in the mines was iron all.
42:32 --> 42:32 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
42:32 --> 42:32 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
42:33 --> 42:33 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
42:33 --> 42:34 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
42:34 --> 42:34 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
42:34 --> 42:36 [UNKNOWN]: So we do know what the minds are.
42:37 --> 42:38 [UNKNOWN]: So they do have, I mean, we know that.
42:39 --> 42:39 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
42:39 --> 42:41 [UNKNOWN]: So they shouldn't run out of, I don't know.
42:42 --> 42:47 [UNKNOWN]: Well, for example, they shouldn't be running out of the, um, what are they making the rebar out of?
42:47 --> 42:48 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
42:48 --> 42:48 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
42:49 --> 42:57 [UNKNOWN]: And do they actually have like the, the blast furnace and capability and like the other
43:02 --> 43:03 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, exactly.
43:03 --> 43:07 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, we know certainly, yeah, what are they doing in Toolfabrication?
43:07 --> 43:08 [UNKNOWN]: We're at with Mark Chambers.
43:11 --> 43:14 [UNKNOWN]: They're, I mean, they're taking parts and making things out of them, sure.
43:14 --> 43:15 [UNKNOWN]: But where are they getting the parts?
43:16 --> 43:16 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
43:17 --> 43:17 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
43:17 --> 43:18 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
43:19 --> 43:27 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, well, we had a lot of fun theories about the lightbulb theft, so Rita Reborn says tinfoil had Carla's behind the theft.
43:27 --> 43:29 [UNKNOWN]: She's hoarding for the people she cares about.
43:29 --> 43:30 [UNKNOWN]: Prediction.
43:30 --> 43:34 [UNKNOWN]: There is an empty silo with presumably at least 50 years of lightbulb's right next door.
43:34 --> 43:35 [UNKNOWN]: What do you think about these?
43:36 --> 43:42 [UNKNOWN]: I think the lightbulb is right next door, yeah, I think that's how this problem is eventually going to be solved.
43:43 --> 43:50 [UNKNOWN]: Although, I sort of, I think it might be another silo that's actually stealing silo 18's lightbulbs.
43:50 --> 43:57 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, because I don't got, I can see why color.
44:01 --> 44:05 [UNKNOWN]: might want to steal things and give them to the people she cares about.
44:05 --> 44:09 [UNKNOWN]: But the thing is, you can't separately.
44:09 --> 44:12 [UNKNOWN]: You can't only give the light bulbs to the people you care about.
44:12 --> 44:15 [UNKNOWN]: They serve the whole silo or they don't.
44:16 --> 44:16 [UNKNOWN]: Right, right.
44:17 --> 44:19 [UNKNOWN]: You don't want to live with just Carla and Martha.
44:19 --> 44:19 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
44:20 --> 44:20 [UNKNOWN]: Exactly.
44:20 --> 44:21 [UNKNOWN]: Mm-hmm.
44:23 --> 44:30 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, no, um, I think also that now that we've seen Carlin, Martha, I think we can rule that out.
44:30 --> 44:37 [UNKNOWN]: Or I don't know, I would personally, but I guess it's just more like I put those two in my blunt rotations.
44:37 --> 44:39 [UNKNOWN]: So the chillies.
44:40 --> 44:51 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, but yeah, I can very well see a kind of great escape tunnels in our real being the way they find more like all or like I say that another
44:58 --> 45:03 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, Marcus S says I'm not convinced it's the miners who killed Orla.
45:03 --> 45:20 [UNKNOWN]: Lots of hints point that way But it smells like misdirection to make us think it was them recall that she was only moved to the mine after being killed light bulbs and rebar Elisic cannabis farm somewhere Well, you know if we all gonna do a blunt rotation.
45:20 --> 45:26 [UNKNOWN]: They got to get weed or somewhere I mean I'll be like because
45:27 --> 45:32 [UNKNOWN]: Of course, there is the question, like, what are you doing with 48 years worth of life bombs?
45:32 --> 45:33 [UNKNOWN]: That's a lot of life.
45:33 --> 45:34 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
45:34 --> 45:35 [UNKNOWN]: By the way, slight tangent.
45:35 --> 45:38 [UNKNOWN]: You know, the illicit cannabis farm thing.
45:39 --> 45:49 [UNKNOWN]: So, the football club I support, not county, they, they, they obviously, you know, the winters in the UK can get pretty dark and pretty cold and you've got to keep a grasp pitch.
45:50 --> 45:51 [UNKNOWN]: I lie through that.
45:52 --> 46:06 [UNKNOWN]: And one of the, there was a time when we didn't have a lot of money as a football club so one of the ways they did that was going to buy the rigs that you made that work in cannabis farms off the local police at police auction now.
46:07 --> 46:11 [UNKNOWN]: Well, well, I'll do it.
46:12 --> 46:16 [UNKNOWN]: Paul K says, maybe one of the other silos has a gothic metal club going on.
46:17 --> 46:20 [UNKNOWN]: I've been to a few cave like hangouts again.
46:20 --> 46:29 [UNKNOWN]: There's this, there's a, if you want to do that, and when I was a student and not seeing them, the caves and there's nothing in castle, they would do that two or three times a year.
46:29 --> 46:30 [UNKNOWN]: Hmm.
46:30 --> 46:31 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
46:32 --> 46:49 [UNKNOWN]: And so for YB said this was actually after episode three, said it's either Walker and Carla or Jules escaped rabbits army of descendants, so now Luke I ask you, who is stealing 48 years worth of girl bulbs for what purpose wrong answers only?
46:50 --> 46:57 [UNKNOWN]: Well, I mean if it's the army of rabbits, like you've got a bigger problem, because presumably you've got a massive army of meat and rabbits with the possible thumbs.
46:57 --> 47:02 [UNKNOWN]: So, you know, the light's going to the least of your problems.
47:05 --> 47:20 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, yeah, I hope that like maybe they've built an underground city somewhere and they're actually creating a city away from the silos.
47:20 --> 47:24 [UNKNOWN]: So there might even be, there might even be a silo underneath the silo.
47:25 --> 47:26 [UNKNOWN]: I can move a silo.
47:27 --> 47:31 [UNKNOWN]: And they've met the creatures from the journey to the center.
47:31 --> 47:34 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, that's just some, that's just some more locks down there.
47:34 --> 47:35 [UNKNOWN]: Chill out with some.
47:35 --> 47:36 [UNKNOWN]: Oh yeah, from Tyler Sheen.
47:36 --> 47:36 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
47:39 --> 47:42 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, yeah, that's the they're partying with the more locks.
47:42 --> 47:46 [UNKNOWN]: This is actually HG Wells crossover fiction.
47:47 --> 47:48 [UNKNOWN]: I'm sorry to spoil it for all.
47:52 --> 48:00 [UNKNOWN]: All right, so, so why B says picking up on Paul K's discussion of mirrored plot lines.
48:01 --> 48:17 [UNKNOWN]: Sof says one aspect of mirroring slash contrast that I liked in the books, but which we haven't seen yet, minor character point, not plot spoiler, is that the Daniel character is claustrophobic in the book or at least has anxiety about it and lives out in the open.
48:18 --> 48:27 [UNKNOWN]: Whereas Walker lives in a silo and suffers from a gorephobia or used to, she's just chilling in a massive digger void now apparently.
48:29 --> 48:29 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
48:30 --> 48:34 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, so this Walker doesn't have a gorephobia.
48:34 --> 48:36 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, we already discussed that part.
48:36 --> 48:40 [UNKNOWN]: But yeah, the Daniel character is claustrophobic.
48:40 --> 48:41 [UNKNOWN]: I forgot about that.
48:42 --> 48:48 [UNKNOWN]: Well, if he was claustrophobic in the show, he did a very good job of hiding it.
48:48 --> 48:51 [UNKNOWN]: When he was in the car, the car that was being driven so well.
48:51 --> 48:52 [UNKNOWN]: Well, that's true.
48:52 --> 48:53 [UNKNOWN]: That's true.
48:53 --> 48:55 [UNKNOWN]: He's been very calm overall.
48:55 --> 48:55 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
48:58 --> 49:03 [UNKNOWN]: Um, and so boy Bay also says I need Rosemary from Widow's Bay to doing the pez and sisterie.
49:03 --> 49:04 [UNKNOWN]: Do you ever you haven't watched with us?
49:04 --> 49:04 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
49:04 --> 49:04 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
49:04 --> 49:05 [UNKNOWN]: So I recommend Widow's Bay.
49:05 --> 49:05 [UNKNOWN]: I think that you like it.
49:05 --> 49:13 [UNKNOWN]: It's um, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it
49:13 --> 49:16 [UNKNOWN]: It has horror elements, but not intense at all.
49:16 --> 49:23 [UNKNOWN]: Like, actually the second episode has maybe the scariest thing, but it is very genuinely funny too.
49:23 --> 49:29 [UNKNOWN]: And there's at one point one character is doing the ancestry of another character and people are just obsessed with.
49:30 --> 49:31 [UNKNOWN]: that scene.
49:31 --> 49:36 [UNKNOWN]: It's from actually it's from the penultimate episode of the season, but anyway.
49:36 --> 49:47 [UNKNOWN]: So Fossil says, I wonder how long it's going to take before Bernard realizes he could have just cooled his jets a bit and Mary mother fucking meadows would be there contributing to Juliette.
49:47 --> 49:48 [UNKNOWN]: This is your life club.
49:52 --> 50:09 [UNKNOWN]: I'm so so great great use of pillock that is a that is a swear word that's gone out fashion with great use of the word pillock um yeah I mean I do I do want to see Bernard grappling a bit more with the Mary motherfucking meadows of it all
50:11 --> 50:12 [UNKNOWN]: No, I agree, I agree.
50:14 --> 50:21 [UNKNOWN]: She says, I hope the Cully New Bernard is being genuine and he's not still the true head of IT about to double cross everyone.
50:21 --> 50:23 [UNKNOWN]: I don't see why that would be the case though.
50:23 --> 50:28 [UNKNOWN]: It makes more narrative sense for the factions to unite against a bigger body.
50:28 --> 50:38 [UNKNOWN]: I think for the moment you are right, so whether he might become head-be, whether he might become the one true head of IT again at some point.
50:39 --> 50:48 [UNKNOWN]: I think is more open to discussion, but I think for the moment you're right to say that they've got bigger problems.
50:48 --> 50:50 [UNKNOWN]: Mm-hmm.
50:50 --> 50:56 [UNKNOWN]: She says there's still something fishy going on with either the police or something else or LaCent saw.
50:56 --> 51:03 [UNKNOWN]: She specifically went down to look at the gap saying, I have an idea about how she's moving them or something like that.
51:04 --> 51:07 [UNKNOWN]: And then she looks over the railings and has an expression of discovery.
51:08 --> 51:11 [UNKNOWN]: But it can't just be the police because she went down to see them.
51:12 --> 51:13 [UNKNOWN]: She knew they were there.
51:19 --> 51:22 [UNKNOWN]: My next stop would be Diego Exposition and Antidoreen.
51:26 --> 51:29 [UNKNOWN]: Um, yeah, so it's true.
51:29 --> 51:33 [UNKNOWN]: We don't know what she saw at the railing yet.
51:33 --> 51:41 [UNKNOWN]: Um, presumably that has something to do with why she was taking out something about, I think she thought Glenda was stealing them.
51:41 --> 51:52 [UNKNOWN]: I don't think Glenda was stealing them, but whoever was, she figured out something about how they were, how the light bulbs, whatever was else was being stolen was rebar was being moved.
51:53 --> 51:53 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
51:54 --> 51:54 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
51:55 --> 52:13 [UNKNOWN]: something with the central shaft at the gap, I don't know, I don't know, yeah, but I mean, yeah, but the only thing about that is these thefts were taking place before the step before the gap and the stairs was created by the bottom.
52:14 --> 52:15 [UNKNOWN]: So,
52:16 --> 52:27 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, I'm saying, it might have been a system of police that was being used to move them, but it wasn't that system of police specifically, because the thefts were already happening.
52:29 --> 52:39 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, listening back as I edit, I realize that's not quite true because the supplies have been stolen over the past three months, so since Julia's returned so after the gap in the stairs appeared.
52:40 --> 52:41 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, let's go back to it.
52:44 --> 53:06 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I'm just trying to like something, okay, I think so far our best lead on the thief is maybe whoever was working with Knox is allegedly deceased father, who seems to have in the past stolen from critical supply with the diamond coded whatever Drop it
53:10 --> 53:32 [UNKNOWN]: If he's supposed to have been an engineer, maybe he engineered something to do this, but then it still doesn't understand it doesn't answer the question, how are they getting I guess my my I have fewer questions about that part and more questions about like how are they getting it out of critical supply in the first place with that have to do with this central shaft the real question is why are you stealing the white bowls.
53:32 --> 53:33 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, because like yeah.
53:35 --> 53:52 [UNKNOWN]: You have to live in the silo too, if the silo runs out of food and power, if the silo goes dark, then just not things you can sell, right, profit, I don't understand where the profit is in stealing them.
53:52 --> 53:58 [UNKNOWN]: No, no, and yeah, no, I definitely have questions about it.
54:00 --> 54:17 [UNKNOWN]: So, sof also says about Julia's Messiah status, yes to Dune comparison, and she quotes, no more terrible disaster could befall your people then for them to fall into the hands of a hero, capital H, worm emoji desert emoji.
54:18 --> 54:26 [UNKNOWN]: And Cincinnati Joe, oh yeah, just said that you you issued a quote along in the same lines he says his life of Brian not holy grail.
54:26 --> 54:27 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, I know.
54:27 --> 54:28 [UNKNOWN]: I read that.
54:28 --> 54:30 [UNKNOWN]: I read that in this court since night.
54:30 --> 54:33 [UNKNOWN]: Joe and I am very sorry.
54:33 --> 54:36 [UNKNOWN]: My brick privileges have been revoked for at least 24 hours by stuff.
54:38 --> 54:44 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, I didn't clock it either and I definitely am well familiar with both movies I mean, I thought life of Brian anyway.
54:44 --> 54:45 [UNKNOWN]: That's just how the brain works.
54:45 --> 54:48 [UNKNOWN]: See our brains are faulty Victor's here us.
54:48 --> 54:48 [UNKNOWN]: No, don't.
54:49 --> 54:49 [UNKNOWN]: No, don't.
54:49 --> 54:50 [UNKNOWN]: No, please.
54:50 --> 54:58 [UNKNOWN]: No, don't And sof says finally also waiting for jewels to bump into the couple who got to have a full
54:58 --> 55:01 [UNKNOWN]: their baby because Julia got sent out to clean.
55:02 --> 55:04 [UNKNOWN]: The couple who talked to pop a nickels.
55:04 --> 55:08 [UNKNOWN]: And I just remember didn't they say that they were going to name their baby Julia?
55:08 --> 55:10 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, they did if it was a go, yeah.
55:10 --> 55:14 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, if it was a good and I just assumed it would become a girl because of the law of writing.
55:17 --> 55:21 [UNKNOWN]: So it would be nice to hear from them at some point if there's like, yeah, a baby
55:30 --> 55:36 [UNKNOWN]: Speaking of dark, John, comment on the discord, and I also spoke to him privately about this.
55:36 --> 55:40 [UNKNOWN]: He is not here for a Sims and Bernard Redemption arc.
55:41 --> 55:47 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, WTF, so I'm just supposed to yay this Sims and Motherfucking Bernard's situation.
55:47 --> 55:50 [UNKNOWN]: What kind of mind-fuckery is stylo on right now?
55:51 --> 55:56 [UNKNOWN]: WTF, nah, I was sent the files, meaning the short story.
55:56 --> 55:59 [UNKNOWN]: I've read the files and I'm very upset.
56:00 --> 56:01 [UNKNOWN]: They've got me tight.
56:01 --> 56:06 [UNKNOWN]: I feel like the Sims files are trying to reevaluate Sims and I don't want to do that at all.
56:06 --> 56:07 [UNKNOWN]: I don't trust him.
56:07 --> 56:08 [UNKNOWN]: I can't stand him.
56:08 --> 56:16 [UNKNOWN]: The Mofo has done some terrible things and I got a read and see that maybe just maybe he has a conscience and might be remorseful for the things he's done.
56:16 --> 56:17 [UNKNOWN]: I refuse to be swayed.
56:17 --> 56:18 [UNKNOWN]: Hello, hello.
56:19 --> 56:20 [UNKNOWN]: Hi, John.
56:20 --> 56:22 [UNKNOWN]: I am never going to get on the wrong side of you, Mike.
56:24 --> 56:25 [UNKNOWN]: You are just not a forgiving person.
56:25 --> 56:26 [UNKNOWN]: I can see this.
56:29 --> 56:31 [UNKNOWN]: I mean he has killed people.
56:31 --> 56:33 [UNKNOWN]: He has, he has.
56:33 --> 56:35 [UNKNOWN]: He didn't kill George, but he's killed other people.
56:35 --> 56:40 [UNKNOWN]: We saw him kill, um, what does face the guy who is like his shadow for 10 seconds?
56:40 --> 56:45 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, well, yes, where he does the whole thing of swearing him in, and then pushes him over the side.
56:45 --> 56:47 [UNKNOWN]: He has to, yeah.
56:48 --> 56:51 [UNKNOWN]: The guy said he would do anything for the silo.
56:53 --> 57:10 [UNKNOWN]: And we saw him waving a gun, a Lucas's parents, mom and stuff, yeah, so he's not just saying because he can be become better and it doesn't undo all the bad that he's done.
57:10 --> 57:11 [UNKNOWN]: That's what I would say.
57:11 --> 57:12 [UNKNOWN]: So I'm more with Aaron.
57:12 --> 57:21 [UNKNOWN]: Aaron says as a long time Rob Defender, I feel vindicated by the great Sims Lock-in of episode five, even if I only defended him privately and in the comfort of my own mind.
57:22 --> 57:23 [UNKNOWN]: Well, well then.
57:24 --> 57:41 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, but yeah, Jean knows that I am always the, um, maybe they can change person and I just keep going back to sorry spoiler for this, um, DC show penguin, um, where I got thrown back in my face.
57:41 --> 57:47 [UNKNOWN]: So I'm not always, I'm not always right to hope for better, but this is a world I think where people come.
57:47 --> 57:50 [UNKNOWN]: There's nothing right, there's nothing wrong with seeing the
57:52 --> 57:53 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
57:54 --> 57:56 [UNKNOWN]: Sometimes it's easier when they're fictional, obviously.
57:56 --> 57:57 [UNKNOWN]: Quiet, yeah.
57:57 --> 57:59 [UNKNOWN]: So, yeah, there's lots of love at this episode.
58:00 --> 58:02 [UNKNOWN]: Eon said, best episode of the season so far.
58:02 --> 58:04 [UNKNOWN]: Things are moving now.
58:04 --> 58:09 [UNKNOWN]: Jim Pacty and said, I think this was easily the best episode of the season by far.
58:09 --> 58:18 [UNKNOWN]: They really brought together the silo 18 crew, gave Sims a phenomenal episode, and even did a better than average peak at the current era.
58:18 --> 58:23 [UNKNOWN]: A section, I haven't really been happy with thanks to both wildly uninformed presentation of a sitting congressman.
58:24 --> 58:31 [UNKNOWN]: And because that character, while consistent, is infuriating to watch, and I didn't like him in the books either, doesn't help, sorry, not sorry.
58:31 --> 58:37 [UNKNOWN]: Very excited for the show though, so different but interesting in and of itself, much like foundation seems to be.
58:38 --> 58:40 [UNKNOWN]: So, yeah, I mean, that's fair, like I am...
58:41 --> 59:05 [UNKNOWN]: a sympathy for Donald in the books and Daniel in the show, which is obviously partially book transfer, but I think they've kept in terms of, they've wildly changed some of the characters personalities, usually they change a name, then, at the same time, but that is one character who's, I would say, very like his book counterpart to me, and they haven't
59:06 --> 59:10 [UNKNOWN]: dived into the him as a congressman aspect of it.
59:10 --> 59:14 [UNKNOWN]: There was more of that aspect in the books, I think, for sure.
59:15 --> 59:15 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
59:16 --> 59:22 [UNKNOWN]: And I think I think changing the character's name from Donald Dany, I think the reason for that was fairly.
59:22 --> 59:23 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
59:23 --> 59:24 [UNKNOWN]: Was fairly obvious.
59:24 --> 59:31 [UNKNOWN]: You know, given given the real world, basically, I don't think you want a polarization character named Donald.
59:31 --> 59:31 [UNKNOWN]: I think
59:35 --> 59:36 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
59:36 --> 59:39 [UNKNOWN]: And I know a lot of book readers like there are certain, it depends.
59:39 --> 59:40 [UNKNOWN]: There are certain plotlines.
59:40 --> 59:47 [UNKNOWN]: Some of us are attached to, um, and, um, yeah, if they don't play out, that can be disappointing.
59:47 --> 59:56 [UNKNOWN]: But I think overall, I've seen most readers being excited about changes and new things as long as it's internally consistent.
59:56 --> 01:00:02 [UNKNOWN]: And I'll say that there are certain plotlines that I think might be looping back around after we had written them off as
01:00:06 --> 01:00:11 [UNKNOWN]: Alright, let's take a quick break here, and when we come back, we will dive into the most recent episode.
01:00:12 --> 01:00:12 [UNKNOWN]: We're back.
01:00:15 --> 01:00:18 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, so about episode six the drive.
01:00:18 --> 01:00:25 [UNKNOWN]: So this is these are all caught up to everything that has been released thus far.
01:00:25 --> 01:00:32 [UNKNOWN]: So first we have from Shivan Logan on Blue Sky, a new silo pod from Malaysian Luke.
01:00:32 --> 01:00:36 [UNKNOWN]: Strap those seat belts in and check the contents of your shoulder bag.
01:00:36 --> 01:00:37 [UNKNOWN]: Don't forget to wave at the police.
01:00:40 --> 01:00:44 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, the key to lying to the voice is to play out your truth.
01:00:44 --> 01:00:47 [UNKNOWN]: I think Camille's sus is this as much as Julie yet does.
01:00:48 --> 01:00:53 [UNKNOWN]: But love her, snap back, till the voice grows some arms and legs, I'm the one holding the door.
01:00:53 --> 01:00:56 [UNKNOWN]: There's something there about limits of the AI's reach.
01:00:56 --> 01:00:56 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:00:56 --> 01:00:58 [UNKNOWN]: It's a good point.
01:00:58 --> 01:01:05 [UNKNOWN]: It was a line that was funny in both illustrated the limits of an AI of a disembodied voice reach.
01:01:05 --> 01:01:05 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:01:06 --> 01:01:12 [UNKNOWN]: Um, I don't think it's a matter of is it human or machine, uh, AI is decentralised.
01:01:13 --> 01:01:18 [UNKNOWN]: The silo system wouldn't need silo one if there wasn't some human agency involved along with the algorithm.
01:01:18 --> 01:01:19 [UNKNOWN]: Thoughts on that.
01:01:22 --> 01:01:24 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, I agree with that.
01:01:25 --> 01:01:31 [UNKNOWN]: And I won't spoil it, but I think episode seven kind of drives home that point as well.
01:01:33 --> 01:01:33 [UNKNOWN]: Mm-hmm.
01:01:35 --> 01:01:52 [UNKNOWN]: Um, and she says, Great Pat, I will spend the week mulling over 48 years worth of light bulbs and all that unauthorized digging are the flame keepers burrowing their own silo space and farms since Juliette's return washed any hope of outside a hippie commune down deep or miners gang on rogue.
01:01:53 --> 01:01:57 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, yeah, the mine is gang on rogue.
01:01:58 --> 01:02:06 [UNKNOWN]: That's the only thing, assuming the thing, assuming for a second that the thieves are inside silo 18.
01:02:07 --> 01:02:22 [UNKNOWN]: And I happen to think they're probably not, but if they are, the miners stealing the light bulb, this is the only thing that makes sense to think, because maybe they are stealing
01:02:28 --> 01:02:30 [UNKNOWN]: for better conditions?
01:02:31 --> 01:02:32 [UNKNOWN]: Hmm.
01:02:32 --> 01:02:34 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, okay, that would be a motive.
01:02:35 --> 01:02:36 [UNKNOWN]: Who do you think killed Orla, them?
01:02:38 --> 01:02:39 [UNKNOWN]: And why the rebar?
01:02:39 --> 01:02:42 [UNKNOWN]: All right, I guess it can be true of any in all supplies.
01:02:43 --> 01:02:49 [UNKNOWN]: I think it might, again, I said, I,
01:02:52 --> 01:02:56 [UNKNOWN]: Zhang, I can't really get into what I'm thinking without.
01:02:56 --> 01:02:59 [UNKNOWN]: OK, OK, fair, fair.
01:03:00 --> 01:03:09 [UNKNOWN]: And then she ends with the A for Shirley striking a blow for women's reproductive rights in silo, no way was that baby authorized.
01:03:09 --> 01:03:13 [UNKNOWN]: Either Dr. Nicholson assisted before his sad demise or Cheryl did the deed out.
01:03:14 --> 01:03:16 [UNKNOWN]: My money is on poppin Nichols redeeming himself.
01:03:16 --> 01:03:20 [UNKNOWN]: All right, P. Daddy, now to win a world for Noxie baby.
01:03:24 --> 01:03:33 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, yeah, um, they're handling her to me, but yeah, I think it's probably, it's probably uh, Dr. Papa Nichols because...
01:03:34 --> 01:03:36 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, you could do it yourself.
01:03:36 --> 01:03:40 [UNKNOWN]: I wasn't did it herself, but that would be it's difficult and painful.
01:03:40 --> 01:03:42 [UNKNOWN]: He was down there for a while.
01:03:42 --> 01:03:45 [UNKNOWN]: So, oh, that would be sweet if it was pop and nickels.
01:03:45 --> 01:03:46 [UNKNOWN]: It was.
01:03:46 --> 01:03:47 [UNKNOWN]: It was.
01:03:47 --> 01:03:49 [UNKNOWN]: And then Juliet found out afterward.
01:03:49 --> 01:03:51 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, that would be sweet.
01:03:51 --> 01:03:52 [UNKNOWN]: Like your father helped this baby happen.
01:03:53 --> 01:03:54 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, he's one of the last things he did.
01:03:55 --> 01:03:55 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:03:57 --> 01:04:22 [UNKNOWN]: uh... reader reborn says so many thoughts the this episode felt one key logistically people going up and down the silo willy nearly double plots on knocks that feel felt like they belong to different episodes the car stuff was attention killer though i did like it in the moment i mean i think if you liked it in the moment it's okay for there to be a downbeat for two people to bond i don't know what is yeah yeah
01:04:27 --> 01:04:35 [UNKNOWN]: and Helen and who they are and where they're coming from in the episode six, and also the frankly outrageous flirting.
01:04:35 --> 01:04:38 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, I mean, and I'm here for some outrageous flirting.
01:04:38 --> 01:04:46 [UNKNOWN]: I think, um, yeah, I liked that aspect of it that it was, it was just a quiet scene between the two of them.
01:04:46 --> 01:04:49 [UNKNOWN]: And of course, there's like stuff to be done in that part of the storyline.
01:04:50 --> 01:04:52 [UNKNOWN]: And I promise episodes seven will deliver more in that regard.
01:04:52 --> 01:04:57 [UNKNOWN]: I think, um, I hope people find that to be, but this is at the end of the day.
01:04:57 --> 01:04:58 [UNKNOWN]: There are action bits.
01:04:59 --> 01:05:05 [UNKNOWN]: And then this is a show with a lot of people talking and I like that aspect.
01:05:05 --> 01:05:06 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:05:06 --> 01:05:10 [UNKNOWN]: I like the people joking and bonding and sharing information and yeah, yeah.
01:05:12 --> 01:05:14 [UNKNOWN]: I like a talkie thing, that's true.
01:05:14 --> 01:05:16 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, and that's is that.
01:05:16 --> 01:05:41 [UNKNOWN]: There is a lot of discussion this week about the about the jet packing around the silo, but I talked about it with Abby and I think this was part of the recording for the spoiler cast, but I feel like in episode six, Julie, that's the only one I really remember running up and down the stairs and that's sort of similar to the book where she does the same.
01:05:42 --> 01:05:50 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I mean, I don't really mind the jetpacking too much.
01:05:53 --> 01:06:13 [UNKNOWN]: I like the jetpacking never read because like you often got this, this criticism of game with thrones, where in the early seasons it would take people ages to get from point age to point big because you were either walking or riding a horse and then as the plot sort of demanded.
01:06:14 --> 01:06:20 [UNKNOWN]: We took out big chunks of times when people got from point A to point A to point A very quickly.
01:06:21 --> 01:06:42 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, I'll say, like in the in the books on which a song and a vise empire is based, it is like if you want to fly across western roads, so you're probably even by drag and back, you do probably stop a night or two along the way, because it is a big fly, but at the end of the day, if you're watching a TV show, do you want to watch all that time walking?
01:06:44 --> 01:06:58 [UNKNOWN]: I don't really mind the jetpacking so long as it's kind of acknowledged that the characters are moving quicker than they routinely would.
01:06:59 --> 01:07:00 [UNKNOWN]: Right, if that makes sense.
01:07:01 --> 01:07:24 [UNKNOWN]: And it is like there is stuff in the books about Juliet and particular being one like when she was in silo 17 and she just like run back and forth to do stuff on the steps and so I was like oh good god I'm living yeah she just is like one of the healthiest people or if not the healthiest person in the entire silo just very fit person yeah and you know clearly some is
01:07:30 --> 01:07:36 [UNKNOWN]: And yeah, I don't know, to the Knox plots, like, that would be about his dad and about the baby.
01:07:36 --> 01:07:42 [UNKNOWN]: And I do, they are additions from the book I'll say, but I'm intrigued to see how they play out.
01:07:43 --> 01:07:43 [UNKNOWN]: Hmm.
01:07:44 --> 01:07:49 [UNKNOWN]: A reader of boring continues, loved seeing Juliet back mostly, and the Knox and Shirley stuff was great.
01:07:50 --> 01:07:54 [UNKNOWN]: Billings investigation finally showing results and Bernard and Walker.
01:07:55 --> 01:07:57 [UNKNOWN]: So yeah, a lot of great character interactions, this episode.
01:07:58 --> 01:08:02 [UNKNOWN]: but says it feels out of character that Shirley would choose to get pregnant right now.
01:08:02 --> 01:08:03 [UNKNOWN]: What do you think about that?
01:08:03 --> 01:08:06 [UNKNOWN]: I'm not sure she did choose to get pregnant right now.
01:08:06 --> 01:08:10 [UNKNOWN]: It's just, you know, Shirley and Knox doing the do.
01:08:10 --> 01:08:15 [UNKNOWN]: But she, she either took it out herself or had the domestic enough.
01:08:16 --> 01:08:18 [UNKNOWN]: But I sort of read that as
01:08:19 --> 01:08:26 [UNKNOWN]: We might want to have children at some point and we're not like with you when the lottery given everything that's happened.
01:08:26 --> 01:08:30 [UNKNOWN]: So let's just let nature take its course.
01:08:30 --> 01:08:33 [UNKNOWN]: I don't think it necessarily has to be a very conscious decision.
01:08:34 --> 01:08:35 [UNKNOWN]: Let's get pregnant.
01:08:35 --> 01:08:45 [UNKNOWN]: I think it's more you the pact, the powers that be not going to tell me what to do and when.
01:08:50 --> 01:08:57 [UNKNOWN]: That's fair, and he says also, I think this episode confirmed the voice is not AI.
01:08:58 --> 01:09:00 [UNKNOWN]: I don't think he confirmed that the voice was not AI.
01:09:00 --> 01:09:02 [UNKNOWN]: I think it's a question.
01:09:02 --> 01:09:05 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, it questioned whether the voice was AI.
01:09:05 --> 01:09:07 [UNKNOWN]: But I do like the what?
01:09:07 --> 01:09:12 [UNKNOWN]: You know, the way it goes, you were coming or basically just blanks it out.
01:09:12 --> 01:09:13 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, what do you want?
01:09:14 --> 01:09:15 [UNKNOWN]: Hello?
01:09:15 --> 01:09:18 [UNKNOWN]: I think you were here at my back and cough.
01:09:22 --> 01:09:31 [UNKNOWN]: um yeah i think that that's that's what people point to most is like an AI doesn't sound annoyed that you're asking for attention again.
01:09:31 --> 01:09:40 [UNKNOWN]: Well though, I do think there are times when my A, L, E, X, A does sound annoyed with me.
01:09:41 --> 01:09:43 [UNKNOWN]: So I'm not sure that that's true.
01:09:45 --> 01:09:52 [UNKNOWN]: Um, okay, so we got to talk about Rita Reborn brings up this point and Abby brings in a point and there's a related reddit post I want to bring up.
01:09:52 --> 01:09:59 [UNKNOWN]: It's all about the vitamin D plus and Rita Reborn says, I didn't expect the D plus to actually get released.
01:10:00 --> 01:10:08 [UNKNOWN]: Do we think she's lying and the reddit post from, uh, it's on silo TV series, subreddit again.
01:10:08 --> 01:10:10 [UNKNOWN]: It's from silo 1817 and they said,
01:10:13 --> 01:10:30 [UNKNOWN]: uh... vitamin D plus barrels in silo uh... season three in season three episode two the vitamin D plus barrels were clearly marked in season three episode six they were not and i double checked and this is true you cd plus and episode two you don't see it in episode six
01:10:31 --> 01:10:44 [UNKNOWN]: and says, for Camille referred to the barrels as vitamin D, unless my eyesight is failing me, there is nothing written on the barrels, the workers are hauling up in episode 6, did Sims switch them and why didn't Camille notice or did she?
01:10:45 --> 01:10:48 [UNKNOWN]: And Abby responds to this.
01:10:49 --> 01:10:55 [UNKNOWN]: And here I was thinking, just thinking Camille, the guy Camille was instructing, didn't understand the instruction.
01:10:55 --> 01:11:05 [UNKNOWN]: He was starting to ask what she means and she had a don't question me attitudes or he went with it, but will not do anything to the filters.
01:11:05 --> 01:11:09 [UNKNOWN]: But if the barrels are switched, then good job, Mr. Sims.
01:11:09 --> 01:11:14 [UNKNOWN]: So here's the question that's being raised by these three people.
01:11:14 --> 01:11:20 [UNKNOWN]: Is Camille telling the truth about releasing the vitamin D plus?
01:11:20 --> 01:11:31 [UNKNOWN]: Were those barrels actually the vitamin D like maybe they got turned and the label was not shown or maybe they were swapped out and if they were swapped out
01:11:32 --> 01:11:34 [UNKNOWN]: what was it Robert?
01:11:35 --> 01:11:35 [UNKNOWN]: Was it Camille?
01:11:35 --> 01:11:39 [UNKNOWN]: Was it some combination of the two playing some game behind the scenes?
01:11:39 --> 01:11:53 [UNKNOWN]: And then finally, did Asa understand the instructions about turning off the filter, because Abbey was saying that he was interrupted, say, like, as if he didn't understand what turning off the Alsmosas was.
01:11:53 --> 01:11:58 [UNKNOWN]: So I guess the question is was she performing for the algorithm?
01:11:59 --> 01:12:03 [UNKNOWN]: or was that a real exchange and what actually went down there?
01:12:04 --> 01:12:13 [UNKNOWN]: I think it's very notable that this happened in the same episode where you get the unless it's grown arms and a leg, arms legs line.
01:12:14 --> 01:12:16 [UNKNOWN]: Because yeah, I wondered about that.
01:12:16 --> 01:12:22 [UNKNOWN]: It's not like the algorithm can actually put them in D12 in the water itself.
01:12:22 --> 01:12:25 [UNKNOWN]: It's relying on a human agent to do that.
01:12:30 --> 01:12:53 [UNKNOWN]: If the barrels were switched out, or if the filtration system wasn't turned off, the algorithm is going to realize what happened relatively quickly, I would think, because it's going to notice through the cameras that people aren't forgetting things.
01:12:53 --> 01:12:57 [UNKNOWN]: So if that happens, it will just trigger the safeguard.
01:12:59 --> 01:13:06 [UNKNOWN]: And you can't get 10 people, I don't think you can get 10 people to convincingly play a lot.
01:13:07 --> 01:13:07 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
01:13:08 --> 01:13:10 [UNKNOWN]: So forgetting things.
01:13:10 --> 01:13:13 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, and how do you communicate that without the algorithm finding out?
01:13:13 --> 01:13:13 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:13:14 --> 01:13:14 [UNKNOWN]: So.
01:13:16 --> 01:13:25 [UNKNOWN]: So regardless of where the Camille or Robert switched the barrels, that's kind of not the important thing.
01:13:25 --> 01:13:34 [UNKNOWN]: The important thing is that if even if they did do that, they've only bought themselves a very short window.
01:13:35 --> 01:13:35 [UNKNOWN]: And I think this could be
01:13:38 --> 01:13:54 [UNKNOWN]: Then there is a scenario, I could see where the whole tension between Robert and Kameel throughout the series has been plagued out as Kabuki theatre for the benefit of the algorithm.
01:13:56 --> 01:14:00 [UNKNOWN]: And actually they've been working together the whole time.
01:14:01 --> 01:14:28 [UNKNOWN]: I'm not saying that's what I think has happened, but I can see like over the next four episodes, or particularly like episodes nine and ten, that being revealed and I would be sort of two, but I wouldn't be like Leo pointing me in shock, but yeah, I think the important issue is that even if that's true, and I think it might be, I think the it does not have
01:14:30 --> 01:14:40 [UNKNOWN]: line was possibly Camille winking at the audience, but even if that's true, they've only bought themselves a very short window of opportunity to do something.
01:14:42 --> 01:14:42 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:14:42 --> 01:15:05 [UNKNOWN]: I just think about like the games and story played last season, for example, with the hand signals where early on they did say and we clocked it and talked about it on the podcast that they use hand signals in the down deep to do things, but then we didn't notice that's what they were doing to communicate when they knew Bernard was watching by camera.
01:15:09 --> 01:15:28 [UNKNOWN]: Camille and or her husband doing similar, I'll say I think the more interesting question is that there is strain on their marriage through all of this subterfuge and this fact that maybe they are not as open with each other as they pretended to themselves even.
01:15:29 --> 01:15:40 [UNKNOWN]: Um, so I wouldn't, if I think if they were just working together the whole time, it would be like, oh, then we lost that interesting exploration of that.
01:15:40 --> 01:15:40 [UNKNOWN]: What was that all?
01:15:41 --> 01:15:41 [UNKNOWN]: Um, yeah.
01:15:42 --> 01:15:47 [UNKNOWN]: So for that, I'm disinclined to think that part that they're secretly working together.
01:15:47 --> 01:15:48 [UNKNOWN]: Um, but.
01:15:50 --> 01:15:55 [UNKNOWN]: I don't think necessarily everything we see should be taken of face value because this is not kind of show.
01:15:56 --> 01:15:56 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:15:57 --> 01:15:57 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:15:58 --> 01:16:14 [UNKNOWN]: But like I said, I think that the key point is even if they have monkey around with a vitamin D plus they're only buying themselves what a matter of days probably weeks at the outside before the algorithm realizes what's going on.
01:16:15 --> 01:16:15 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:16:15 --> 01:16:15 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:16:17 --> 01:16:26 [UNKNOWN]: And, uh, Rita Reborn continues character relationships or my favorite part of this show and any show on that micro scene level, the episode works really well.
01:16:26 --> 01:16:35 [UNKNOWN]: The stuff with Knox and Shirley Walker and Bernard, the Sims's, Billings' Mess Digation, even the stuff in the car when looking at each individual scene works great.
01:16:36 --> 01:16:45 [UNKNOWN]: So, it was more reader-reborn, it was more about the way they were stitched together than the scenes themselves, not enjoying this as much as the last one.
01:16:46 --> 01:16:54 [UNKNOWN]: And then, reader-reborn, throughout a question that a few people, including myself answered, I'm going to ask for your answer, so start thinking.
01:16:54 --> 01:16:58 [UNKNOWN]: The question for the chat is, what would everyone's relic be?
01:16:59 --> 01:17:05 [UNKNOWN]: And I'm asking listeners at home, please send in, what would your relic be?
01:17:05 --> 01:17:11 [UNKNOWN]: And so, Barb's 27.95 says, I have a captain had a key ring that I joke looks like my partner.
01:17:12 --> 01:17:15 [UNKNOWN]: Captain Haddock will keep me safe with his angry little face.
01:17:17 --> 01:17:21 [UNKNOWN]: Banamana says, my new glorious brewing bottle opener keychain.
01:17:21 --> 01:17:23 [UNKNOWN]: So, that's keychain love.
01:17:24 --> 01:17:26 [UNKNOWN]: And Abby also said, my rally could be my key ring.
01:17:26 --> 01:17:28 [UNKNOWN]: I have it for 40 years now in counting.
01:17:29 --> 01:17:29 [UNKNOWN]: Wow.
01:17:30 --> 01:17:33 [UNKNOWN]: Paul K says my relic would be a toy.
01:17:33 --> 01:17:53 [UNKNOWN]: I do have a few, including a corgi starts a star ski and hutch car or maybe Lady Penelope's pink rose voice and I said I have a particular pen I really like it fits well in my hand has a pleasing shape and writes well it was actually a free promotional gift but I still buy cartridges to keep using it many years later.
01:17:54 --> 01:17:54 [UNKNOWN]: So that was mine.
01:17:55 --> 01:17:56 [UNKNOWN]: What's yours, Luke?
01:17:56 --> 01:18:06 [UNKNOWN]: I have an invitation from the wedding of some friends of mine that I've kept for years, because I'd just like the design of the invitation.
01:18:06 --> 01:18:09 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, and this is how we get a memories trigger.
01:18:10 --> 01:18:10 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:18:11 --> 01:18:13 [UNKNOWN]: I'll remember sitting at this desk.
01:18:13 --> 01:18:15 [UNKNOWN]: Many, many, many hours sitting at this desk.
01:18:16 --> 01:18:17 [UNKNOWN]: So many hours.
01:18:19 --> 01:18:24 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, why y'all said, is it me or Knox was giving the alvertire into weeks vibes this episode?
01:18:24 --> 01:18:25 [UNKNOWN]: No, don't you dare.
01:18:25 --> 01:18:42 [UNKNOWN]: So I don't you don't you fucking don't even think about it don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don
01:18:43 --> 01:18:48 [UNKNOWN]: Is that to each of you says plot moved along very well, but it felt like the relationship episode.
01:18:49 --> 01:18:52 [UNKNOWN]: Lots of building and showing emotional connections and yeah, yeah, I agree.
01:18:53 --> 01:19:08 [UNKNOWN]: I feel like this is I was saying to Abby in the spoiler cast, it's like when you're on the roller coaster going up the hill and this is the slow part where it's like tick tick up to the top and I think episode seven on is where you go, we all the way down.
01:19:10 --> 01:19:15 [UNKNOWN]: Uh, Cincinnati Joe says on the vitamin D plus the way Sims described it was low and slow.
01:19:16 --> 01:19:20 [UNKNOWN]: So I don't think people will wake up the next day, slash we can have lost everything.
01:19:20 --> 01:19:24 [UNKNOWN]: Seems like they will slowly start forgetting bits of the past.
01:19:25 --> 01:19:35 [UNKNOWN]: Over months, question mark, this may make them not remember why they might rebel, et cetera, and make them more pliable while still being functional along the way, at least that's my guess.
01:19:36 --> 01:19:40 [UNKNOWN]: They haven't really detailed how vitamin D plus works, so I try not to get too hung up on it.
01:19:41 --> 01:19:48 [UNKNOWN]: As Sim said, it's different from the high dose, forget most things immediately version that they hit Juliette with as well as Daniel's sister in the past.
01:19:49 --> 01:19:50 [UNKNOWN]: Thoughts enough?
01:19:50 --> 01:20:00 [UNKNOWN]: Um, yeah, I, I, I would expect to start having some, like, minor effects relatively quickly.
01:20:02 --> 01:20:13 [UNKNOWN]: Um, and I do sort of take issue with the make them more pliable bit, because we've said, I admittedly, there are much higher doses of the drug, but we've seen Charlotte and we've seen
01:20:20 --> 01:20:26 [UNKNOWN]: It hasn't made them more playable, per se, I don't think.
01:20:27 --> 01:20:29 [UNKNOWN]: So I don't think it affects behavior.
01:20:30 --> 01:20:38 [UNKNOWN]: Well, maybe actually Julia was a bit more playable in the first couple of episodes, but, well, no, not really.
01:20:40 --> 01:20:44 [UNKNOWN]: Sorry, that was not a very coherent thing together with others.
01:20:44 --> 01:20:48 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, no, I don't think the drug makes some thanks for particularly playable.
01:20:49 --> 01:21:07 [UNKNOWN]: I think just like the fuzzy, the brain fuzz in general just kind of makes you more, you're not really grasping on to anything you're just kind of going through the motions more for while I think until it's, you know, gets out of your system and you start to build new things.
01:21:09 --> 01:21:13 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, because it also we saw with Gloria assuming it's the same thing.
01:21:13 --> 01:21:14 [UNKNOWN]: We still need to hear about that.
01:21:14 --> 01:21:22 [UNKNOWN]: But it almost seemed to induce hallucinations in her or allowed her to indulge in her interferences more, I suppose.
01:21:24 --> 01:21:29 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, like I guess that's the implanted memories thing where they implant memories of her in the beach.
01:21:30 --> 01:21:33 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, with her family, and she never had.
01:21:33 --> 01:21:38 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, and maybe, maybe, because this is the other thing.
01:21:38 --> 01:21:39 [UNKNOWN]: I'm not sure where it works.
01:21:39 --> 01:21:50 [UNKNOWN]: Because we've seen Charlotte and Julie at recover memories or recover a facsimile memory.
01:21:51 --> 01:21:59 [UNKNOWN]: But that's been done on a very one-to-one basis with people that they know and know well.
01:21:59 --> 01:22:10 [UNKNOWN]: So like, how do you do victors very intensive therapy sort of thing on 10 people at the same time?
01:22:11 --> 01:22:11 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:22:12 --> 01:22:20 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, but the thing is at that point, you're not trying to get them to remember individual memories at that point.
01:22:20 --> 01:22:24 [UNKNOWN]: You just want them to remember like, oh, this is this is silo life.
01:22:24 --> 01:22:26 [UNKNOWN]: This is how silo life has always been.
01:22:26 --> 01:22:27 [UNKNOWN]: This is your mirror.
01:22:27 --> 01:22:29 [UNKNOWN]: We celebrate freedom day.
01:22:29 --> 01:22:29 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:22:30 --> 01:22:30 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:22:30 --> 01:22:30 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:22:30 --> 01:22:31 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:22:32 --> 01:22:38 [UNKNOWN]: So these are collective memories and then they can build their own personal memories again and fill it in however they like.
01:22:39 --> 01:22:45 [UNKNOWN]: And from the past, as long as they don't remember, the key thing is not remembering the things they don't want them to remember, basically.
01:22:45 --> 01:22:46 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I guess.
01:22:47 --> 01:22:49 [UNKNOWN]: Uh, Cincinnati Joe says, not sure.
01:22:49 --> 01:22:52 [UNKNOWN]: I bought all of Knox's story about his family.
01:22:52 --> 01:22:58 [UNKNOWN]: The silos operation isn't great, but it doesn't seem like any kids will be going hungry because their one parent was bad.
01:22:59 --> 01:23:03 [UNKNOWN]: Didn't they all go to a communal cafeteria?
01:23:03 --> 01:23:10 [UNKNOWN]: Even if they are lacking niceties, seems like they'd always be able to eat from what we know about how things work.
01:23:11 --> 01:23:16 [UNKNOWN]: Uh, yeah, but I, I don't think you've had a thing in Knox's story that contradicts that.
01:23:17 --> 01:23:32 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I mean, I think in this there's been this has sparked this whole bit has sparked some conversation about like how does the food system work because we know there are communal cafeterias and we know the people eat private things presumably
01:23:33 --> 01:23:41 [UNKNOWN]: do they pay, do they get a certain amount of food free and then they pay beyond that with their chips or something?
01:23:41 --> 01:23:43 [UNKNOWN]: Um, I don't know exactly how it works.
01:23:44 --> 01:23:45 [UNKNOWN]: What is your, how do you gather?
01:23:45 --> 01:23:55 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, we, we haven't had, we haven't had any explanation of this, but I assume, I assume that food in the soil I was rationed.
01:23:57 --> 01:23:57 [UNKNOWN]: Mm-hmm.
01:23:57 --> 01:23:58 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, you have to be right.
01:23:58 --> 01:23:59 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, it would have to be.
01:24:00 --> 01:24:02 [UNKNOWN]: So I assume you've got one of two choices.
01:24:02 --> 01:24:15 [UNKNOWN]: You can either pay in your ration coupon at the the communal county at eat that way or you can take it to the market
01:24:16 --> 01:24:26 [UNKNOWN]: and pay it in that way and cook your goods, you know, privately, yeah, but it just depends where you want to cash it, the chip.
01:24:27 --> 01:24:31 [UNKNOWN]: So let me give you a bit of a historical example.
01:24:32 --> 01:24:40 [UNKNOWN]: So World War One, Central Powers, Germany and Austria-Hungary are under very strict blockade from
01:24:46 --> 01:24:54 [UNKNOWN]: They experiment with various ways of making the available food stretch as far as possible.
01:24:55 --> 01:25:01 [UNKNOWN]: And one of the things the German and Austrian governments hit on was this idea of communal eating.
01:25:02 --> 01:25:13 [UNKNOWN]: So you would set up these big cafeterias in like the city hall or some large building.
01:25:15 --> 01:25:19 [UNKNOWN]: and people would go there and they would hand in, they would hand in their Russian cards.
01:25:20 --> 01:25:32 [UNKNOWN]: And the idea was, if you wanted to eat one of these communal, one of these communal kitchens, you would hand in your Russian card for the day you wanted to eat a few days ahead of time.
01:25:32 --> 01:25:39 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, so you wouldn't hand it in on the day, so say you wanted to go there on the Wednesday, you were almost like booking a restaurant.
01:25:39 --> 01:25:42 [UNKNOWN]: and in the Russian card the week before.
01:25:43 --> 01:25:56 [UNKNOWN]: And the idea was that that would minimize waste because you could order in the exact amount of food and fuel that you would need on any particular day.
01:25:57 --> 01:26:04 [UNKNOWN]: And it would also ensure that everybody that ate there, got roughly the same portions.
01:26:04 --> 01:26:06 [UNKNOWN]: And got eight meals that was like,
01:26:07 --> 01:26:13 [UNKNOWN]: that was healthy by the standards of like nutrition science in 1917.
01:26:13 --> 01:26:19 [UNKNOWN]: So they were basically calorie counting because that's all they could take a date basically.
01:26:20 --> 01:26:34 [UNKNOWN]: So this kind of communal eating is more efficient in terms of you get the exact amount of food for the exact amount of people you're expecting at any given time.
01:26:35 --> 01:26:38 [UNKNOWN]: I do have the feeling that in the silo it's more spontaneous.
01:26:40 --> 01:26:42 [UNKNOWN]: But I think also like
01:26:43 --> 01:26:52 [UNKNOWN]: I think that poverty in the silo is a relative term where there is probably a lower base because when he talks about it, he doesn't seem like he's been malnourished.
01:26:52 --> 01:26:55 [UNKNOWN]: Obviously he grew into a big strapping lad.
01:26:55 --> 01:26:57 [UNKNOWN]: We call him Foxy Noxie for a reason.
01:26:58 --> 01:27:04 [UNKNOWN]: But he was talking about like not being able to buy the extras, you know?
01:27:04 --> 01:27:05 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:27:05 --> 01:27:06 [UNKNOWN]: The lantern.
01:27:06 --> 01:27:06 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:27:08 --> 01:27:16 [UNKNOWN]: So I think that it is a case where obviously he would have no idea what this concept of like what why would people go hungry?
01:27:16 --> 01:27:17 [UNKNOWN]: Why would anyone want that to happen?
01:27:18 --> 01:27:21 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, so I think this is relative poverty not absolutely poverty.
01:27:22 --> 01:27:23 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I agree.
01:27:23 --> 01:27:26 [UNKNOWN]: And I don't think it's necessarily about his food per se.
01:27:26 --> 01:27:28 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, he did say about going hungry, didn't he?
01:27:32 --> 01:27:34 [UNKNOWN]: I'd have to go back and rewatch the episode.
01:27:40 --> 01:27:52 [UNKNOWN]: Interestingly, that experiment in Germany didn't work and the reason it didn't work is because middle class people wouldn't use them.
01:27:52 --> 01:27:57 [UNKNOWN]: It was too similar to the pre-war system of poor relief.
01:27:59 --> 01:28:02 [UNKNOWN]: So yeah, middle class office workers wouldn't use them.
01:28:09 --> 01:28:28 [UNKNOWN]: that we've seen in the show about just how the middle class, you know, tries to position themselves in certain ways that don't necessarily benefit them and benefit rather the class above them because they would rather be seen as position for that class and in some ways makes them more conservative.
01:28:28 --> 01:28:33 [UNKNOWN]: Over certain things, I was, yeah, that was a theme in the books that we haven't had talked about in the show.
01:28:35 --> 01:28:40 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, so I looked up Knox's quote and he says he was never around.
01:28:40 --> 01:28:43 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, maybe you'll remember growing up.
01:28:43 --> 01:28:45 [UNKNOWN]: It was just me and my mom and it was hard.
01:28:45 --> 01:28:46 [UNKNOWN]: We struggled.
01:28:46 --> 01:28:47 [UNKNOWN]: Never enough food.
01:28:47 --> 01:28:49 [UNKNOWN]: I never had clothes that fit.
01:28:50 --> 01:28:51 [UNKNOWN]: I remember when I was a little kid.
01:28:51 --> 01:28:54 [UNKNOWN]: I wanted one of those freedom day lanterns.
01:28:54 --> 01:28:56 [UNKNOWN]: I wanted one so bad.
01:28:56 --> 01:28:56 [UNKNOWN]: Couldn't afford it.
01:28:57 --> 01:28:58 [UNKNOWN]: But we were okay.
01:28:58 --> 01:29:00 [UNKNOWN]: Because mom, she worked her ass off.
01:29:00 --> 01:29:02 [UNKNOWN]: Somehow she still, she still made time for me.
01:29:05 --> 01:29:13 [UNKNOWN]: Um, so, yeah, he does say never enough food, although I do yet more about like clothes not fitting and all the stuff.
01:29:13 --> 01:29:24 [UNKNOWN]: I think what we should assume is that there's a basic whatever rations, and obviously they get that, but, um,
01:29:25 --> 01:29:28 [UNKNOWN]: It's not, most people have more than that.
01:29:28 --> 01:29:31 [UNKNOWN]: Like Julia talks about having pizza at home, you know?
01:29:31 --> 01:29:31 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:29:31 --> 01:29:37 [UNKNOWN]: For some pizza sort of situation, I don't think they were a household that had pizza in their freezer.
01:29:38 --> 01:29:38 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:29:39 --> 01:29:40 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, no.
01:29:40 --> 01:29:48 [UNKNOWN]: I'd say, yeah, so I mean, like you said, I think he would be given what knocks, you know, it's like as an adult.
01:29:48 --> 01:29:57 [UNKNOWN]: I think it's pretty unlikely so for like severe malnutrition as a child because that does feed through into health effects pretty much lifelong.
01:30:00 --> 01:30:01 [UNKNOWN]: But yeah, so I think we
01:30:03 --> 01:30:06 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I think we are talking about relative rather than absolute poverty.
01:30:06 --> 01:30:15 [UNKNOWN]: I don't also, I think this might just be one of the issues where it's, it's a pretty minor thing and the right, it's having quite dull hair all the way through.
01:30:16 --> 01:30:21 [UNKNOWN]: Um, Cincinnati Joe also says, talking to my wife and she liked this episode a lot.
01:30:21 --> 01:30:27 [UNKNOWN]: She liked all the character interactions, including the couple in the car, though she admitted that arc went on too long.
01:30:27 --> 01:30:30 [UNKNOWN]: Like, no more Daniel and Helen.
01:30:30 --> 01:30:34 [UNKNOWN]: I think I'm cute.
01:30:34 --> 01:30:36 [UNKNOWN]: What's, what's our couple's name for them?
01:30:38 --> 01:30:38 [UNKNOWN]: Dillon.
01:30:39 --> 01:30:39 [UNKNOWN]: Dillon?
01:30:39 --> 01:30:40 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:30:40 --> 01:30:40 [UNKNOWN]: I guess so.
01:30:42 --> 01:30:42 [UNKNOWN]: All right.
01:30:43 --> 01:30:47 [UNKNOWN]: Let's take one final quick break here when we get back, we'll check it on the rest of the feedback from episode six.
01:30:52 --> 01:31:00 [UNKNOWN]: Becky J says the people in the minds are clearly taking secret tunnels up and down somewhere so I'm hoping we see that.
01:31:00 --> 01:31:04 [UNKNOWN]: I'm kind of bored with the stealing from supply storyline so I'd like to wrap that up.
01:31:04 --> 01:31:08 [UNKNOWN]: Noxis father, I don't really care but I think the dude was lying that he died two years ago.
01:31:09 --> 01:31:15 [UNKNOWN]: Could meals come in to rob it, Robert were ominous kind of hoping he gets sent out to clean or similar.
01:31:15 --> 01:31:18 [UNKNOWN]: Will Lucas and Patrick even end up going outside?
01:31:18 --> 01:31:19 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know.
01:31:19 --> 01:31:19 [UNKNOWN]: I'm not convinced.
01:31:20 --> 01:31:24 [UNKNOWN]: But if they do, I do actually really like the dynamic between Lucas and Patrick.
01:31:24 --> 01:31:27 [UNKNOWN]: So I think these two together would be pretty entertaining.
01:31:27 --> 01:31:29 [UNKNOWN]: But I cannot even consider Lucas dying.
01:31:29 --> 01:31:30 [UNKNOWN]: It's my lady Marchi.
01:31:31 --> 01:31:39 [UNKNOWN]: I'm assuming the Daniel Unhellen go with Thurman to see pair stents and hopefully, and then they find out about the silo plans.
01:31:40 --> 01:31:41 [UNKNOWN]: That's not it.
01:31:41 --> 01:31:42 [UNKNOWN]: No comment on any of them.
01:31:44 --> 01:31:54 [UNKNOWN]: These are, yeah, it's, I did ask for predictions about the next episode, so I'm very excited to see how Becky responds to the next episode.
01:31:55 --> 01:31:59 [UNKNOWN]: Al Torino says on discord, the Paul Billings disrespect this episode, shaking my head.
01:32:00 --> 01:32:03 [UNKNOWN]: He's literally the sheriff, but seems to have no authority.
01:32:05 --> 01:32:07 [UNKNOWN]: Well, you know, he's just wearing Holson's hand-me-dance.
01:32:09 --> 01:32:11 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, Billings is your favorite character.
01:32:11 --> 01:32:16 [UNKNOWN]: Did you feel... Yeah, no, I'm getting, I'm getting pretty sick of people disrespecting Billings.
01:32:17 --> 01:32:20 [UNKNOWN]: But also, I like, I think you see this in episode 6.
01:32:20 --> 01:32:22 [UNKNOWN]: Billings is snapping back, can't I?
01:32:22 --> 01:32:25 [UNKNOWN]: He is, he is seriously, he's salty.
01:32:25 --> 01:32:28 [UNKNOWN]: His fucks are seriously depleted at this point.
01:32:28 --> 01:32:32 [UNKNOWN]: And I do kind of worry slightly that he's gonna like.
01:32:33 --> 01:32:40 [UNKNOWN]: that he's going to snap back really hard at like Mark Chambers or somebody else at some point and do something he regrets.
01:32:41 --> 01:32:42 [UNKNOWN]: Go, Darth.
01:32:42 --> 01:32:43 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, killings.
01:32:43 --> 01:32:45 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, go a bit, Darth Bellings.
01:32:45 --> 01:32:49 [UNKNOWN]: Because he don't eat like we've had this all the way to the season one.
01:32:49 --> 01:32:53 [UNKNOWN]: Poor Bellings is somebody that keeps his emotions very tightly bottled up.
01:32:54 --> 01:33:01 [UNKNOWN]: But we've had hints that they are simmering at all times like we punched the other teenager who wanted to talk to him about the
01:33:02 --> 01:33:06 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, so yeah, I do just where he's going to do something and regret like you're on.
01:33:07 --> 01:33:09 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, yeah.
01:33:09 --> 01:33:13 [UNKNOWN]: Barb's 27.95 says I really enjoy the character moments.
01:33:13 --> 01:33:19 [UNKNOWN]: I'd be so up for 20 episodes, seasons like in Star Trek of characters doing their hobbies.
01:33:20 --> 01:33:23 [UNKNOWN]: I'll say like, Mayor John says a whole thing about knitting in the book.
01:33:23 --> 01:33:24 [UNKNOWN]: There's no time for that to show.
01:33:25 --> 01:33:31 [UNKNOWN]: Um, everybody needs to grab a Kit Kat wrapper relic like Bernie to survive the vitamin D plus.
01:33:31 --> 01:33:32 [UNKNOWN]: So yeah, we were calling it tape.
01:33:32 --> 01:33:35 [UNKNOWN]: I inserted a little thing that people mentioned.
01:33:35 --> 01:33:40 [UNKNOWN]: It's more like a, like a candy wrapper or something, which I guess makes more sense in relic terms.
01:33:40 --> 01:33:40 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:33:40 --> 01:33:41 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:33:41 --> 01:33:42 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:33:43 --> 01:33:49 [UNKNOWN]: Barb says I can't help but find the swings they go up and down the gap with really funny hell.
01:33:49 --> 01:33:50 [UNKNOWN]: But we'll said they left.
01:33:50 --> 01:33:52 [UNKNOWN]: They don't can be all just like riding down.
01:33:52 --> 01:33:53 [UNKNOWN]: I want to ride to suit.
01:33:53 --> 01:33:54 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:33:54 --> 01:33:54 [UNKNOWN]: No.
01:33:54 --> 01:33:55 [UNKNOWN]: I don't want them funny.
01:33:55 --> 01:33:56 [UNKNOWN]: I just want to have a go on.
01:33:58 --> 01:34:08 [UNKNOWN]: Had we flash after the episode where Ted Lasso stared, I started playing halfway through an episode we'd watched and Walker came strutting into the kitchen saying, hello, sausage?
01:34:08 --> 01:34:11 [UNKNOWN]: Because yeah, Harriet Walter is on Ted Lasso.
01:34:11 --> 01:34:14 [UNKNOWN]: Well, Harriet Walter is in just about everything at the moment.
01:34:15 --> 01:34:19 [UNKNOWN]: It says he's going to turn up poor Paul inch by inch.
01:34:19 --> 01:34:21 [UNKNOWN]: He's being turned into a rebel.
01:34:21 --> 01:34:25 [UNKNOWN]: Do you think you think he's going to go Oh, I don't think he's being turned into a rebel.
01:34:25 --> 01:34:32 [UNKNOWN]: I think he's there What about like is he on the he's been as he it's he on the same side of his as his wife?
01:34:34 --> 01:34:36 [UNKNOWN]: No, but that doesn't mean he's not a rebel.
01:34:36 --> 01:34:39 [UNKNOWN]: We got we got various rebel faction Let's true.
01:34:39 --> 01:34:40 [UNKNOWN]: Let's true
01:34:43 --> 01:34:47 [UNKNOWN]: Um, Barb says the reason why I enjoy the show is the character is even relatively minor ones.
01:34:47 --> 01:34:52 [UNKNOWN]: The mystery and themes are a bonus, sometimes I'm not even fussed about what happened to the world.
01:34:54 --> 01:34:58 [UNKNOWN]: I know, I know what you mean, Bob, but I need to find out what happened to the world.
01:35:00 --> 01:35:10 [UNKNOWN]: I just, someone, um, post-Somple flu sky, and I repost it recently, um, thing that Meadows said to Bernard, like, what did they do to this world for
01:35:12 --> 01:35:38 [UNKNOWN]: Paul K says for a second I thought at harwood was going to be revealed as knocks his daddy and I'll say I the thought crossed my mind But I was like, no, that wouldn't make sense They they were in a meeting together, but there was a moment where he goes there like hey, pops It would tie things together, but no
01:35:41 --> 01:35:47 [UNKNOWN]: Unless, okay, okay, here we go, here's some tinfoil house.
01:35:47 --> 01:35:49 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, guys, you're gonna be serious tinfoil.
01:35:50 --> 01:35:58 [UNKNOWN]: What if Knox was somehow given targeted for get drug to forget what his father looks like so that Ed Harwood could hide from him?
01:36:02 --> 01:36:04 [UNKNOWN]: It's very tinfoil, I don't think so, but.
01:36:05 --> 01:36:05 [UNKNOWN]: I mean,
01:36:07 --> 01:36:14 [UNKNOWN]: Who would who would who would do that they would need a medical person on their side?
01:36:16 --> 01:36:25 [UNKNOWN]: Someone who knows about the drug and how to use it and I don't think I don't see sims getting involved at that No, say you may yeah, but why?
01:36:27 --> 01:36:30 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know why but I like it.
01:36:30 --> 01:36:32 [UNKNOWN]: I don't like it.
01:36:32 --> 01:36:33 [UNKNOWN]: I don't like it.
01:36:34 --> 01:36:38 [UNKNOWN]: Hmm, all right, we will see what turns out.
01:36:38 --> 01:36:43 [UNKNOWN]: But then it's like, then he forgets his sister, Orla, too, or not Orla, sorry, Glenda?
01:36:46 --> 01:36:51 [UNKNOWN]: No, I think it's too tinfoil, but putting it out there for funsies.
01:36:52 --> 01:36:54 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know why he did look.
01:36:54 --> 01:36:55 [UNKNOWN]: There's no denying.
01:36:55 --> 01:36:58 [UNKNOWN]: It is extremely tin foil, but I like it.
01:36:58 --> 01:37:01 [UNKNOWN]: I'm here for that.
01:37:01 --> 01:37:06 [UNKNOWN]: Paul Kay also says, who's tampering with the camera feeds or Glenda has an identical twin?
01:37:06 --> 01:37:08 [UNKNOWN]: Billings growing in stetra as a heroic figure.
01:37:08 --> 01:37:20 [UNKNOWN]: What do we think about the, because I'll say actually Abbey brought up this identical twin idea too that that would be why they were on to cameras and we talked about it on the spoiler cast and I said
01:37:21 --> 01:37:45 [UNKNOWN]: I mean this is another very tin foil had theory, but I could see it you brought it with you brought it up with Orla and I thought it was less likely there because we've met the whole family and stuff but in the minds they can hide people out and what you brought up the question last time like what happens if you have an unauthorized child and it just makes me think about like the one child and trying to policy if people have twins, right?
01:37:45 --> 01:37:47 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, what would they hit me?
01:37:48 --> 01:37:58 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I mean, I don't really see what else it could be to be honest because, like,
01:38:01 --> 01:38:16 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, the thing is, like we know that in the past, 352 years in the past, it would have been no problem to deep fake Orla into another video, but within the silo, that would be completely impossible.
01:38:17 --> 01:38:23 [UNKNOWN]: So if it happened, you would need to get some one of the judicial goods.
01:38:23 --> 01:38:27 [UNKNOWN]: You need to get Diego obvious or one of the other people in that room.
01:38:27 --> 01:38:30 [UNKNOWN]: They're the only ones who might be able to do it.
01:38:30 --> 01:38:38 [UNKNOWN]: And the, but I think the only thing that they would be capable of would be like shifting another video with a timestamp to show her there.
01:38:39 --> 01:38:40 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:38:41 --> 01:38:55 [UNKNOWN]: Just, yeah, to lie, just moving a video and saying like, and just having it in the system at the wrong timestamp, you know, Yeah, that it looks like she was up there and they would assume she they didn't happen to also check entering the minds at the same time.
01:38:57 --> 01:39:02 [UNKNOWN]: that would be, I think, the easiest technologically speaking solution.
01:39:02 --> 01:39:10 [UNKNOWN]: I know I mentioned this last episode, but just Emerson, just go, yeah, I'm gonna tell you everything, I'm just gonna go along and answer all of your questions.
01:39:10 --> 01:39:13 [UNKNOWN]: I'm Emerson, I'm spinning and it's great right now.
01:39:14 --> 01:39:18 [UNKNOWN]: You're a judicial guru, and you don't score a logging answer, everybody's questions?
01:39:19 --> 01:39:21 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, maybe that's what needed to happen.
01:39:23 --> 01:39:26 [UNKNOWN]: Honestly, she said, Emerson, you are letting the side down.
01:39:29 --> 01:39:33 [UNKNOWN]: All right, Abby says, the vault is not at the top.
01:39:33 --> 01:39:34 [UNKNOWN]: The minds aren't in the down deep.
01:39:34 --> 01:39:38 [UNKNOWN]: Walkers workshop is low, but they have pulley systems now.
01:39:38 --> 01:39:40 [UNKNOWN]: They still had to carry Bernie up to her place.
01:39:41 --> 01:39:47 [UNKNOWN]: I would rather, so that's about, I guess, the jetpacking, saying that is, yeah.
01:39:48 --> 01:40:01 [UNKNOWN]: Um, that it's things distances aren't necessarily as far as people think because I think a lot of people also think back to Marn's and John's doing the walk down and they had to spend the night down there before going back up But I think that's also because of their age.
01:40:02 --> 01:40:15 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, and they did like like Abby is saying they also went to the very bottom of this They also went as far they didn't go to the very bottom of the silent They went to what they thought of as the bottom of the silent
01:40:18 --> 01:40:18 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:40:18 --> 01:40:19 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:40:19 --> 01:40:31 [UNKNOWN]: And so if, for instance, Knox going to the mines, that would be going, that's going about 70 levels from, I think, 140s, Martha's workshop in 70 is where we heard the mines entrance was.
01:40:32 --> 01:40:32 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:40:32 --> 01:40:32 [UNKNOWN]: And like we said,
01:40:33 --> 01:40:36 [UNKNOWN]: before, you know, not because there's a big strapping thick guy, so.
01:40:36 --> 01:40:37 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, he can do that.
01:40:37 --> 01:40:39 [UNKNOWN]: That's, well, he's also going up.
01:40:39 --> 01:40:40 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, that is the question.
01:40:40 --> 01:40:47 [UNKNOWN]: I guess he is going up to because he and Shirley are working at the gap, which I've been assuming is outside IT at 19.
01:40:48 --> 01:40:51 [UNKNOWN]: Hmm, but I'm not 100% sure.
01:40:51 --> 01:41:03 [UNKNOWN]: I might just be making an assumption because of that's one of prior Explosion that's where it happened the one for 140 years ago or the one in silence 17 Yeah, I'm confusing book stuff as well
01:41:04 --> 01:41:15 [UNKNOWN]: But Abby says, I would rather question how come they can me just find out about her workshop as that wouldn't be the first place to look jetpacking does occur prominently in another show also.
01:41:15 --> 01:41:16 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, we know how to strike.
01:41:16 --> 01:41:25 [UNKNOWN]: And but yeah, how does can me find out about why why would she know about Martha's workshop?
01:41:25 --> 01:41:29 [UNKNOWN]: I think because people followed Sims and so Sims go in there.
01:41:30 --> 01:41:32 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I think that's what it was.
01:41:32 --> 01:41:32 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:41:33 --> 01:41:38 [UNKNOWN]: Abby says I love the character moments, the pairs, Helen and Danny and the car wasn't boring to me.
01:41:38 --> 01:41:39 [UNKNOWN]: They needed those moments together.
01:41:40 --> 01:41:48 [UNKNOWN]: Shirley Knox deciding to have baby, have a baby isn't unbelievable as they were maybe convinced that the rebellion is over and there's a good change.
01:41:48 --> 01:41:51 [UNKNOWN]: They just found out about all of the shenanigans.
01:41:51 --> 01:41:51 [UNKNOWN]: That's true.
01:41:52 --> 01:41:58 [UNKNOWN]: There's a gap between them when they were barely an ended and the more recent we might all die thing.
01:41:59 --> 01:42:04 [UNKNOWN]: Um, one pair still on hold, but we have four more episodes that will happen through a radio.
01:42:05 --> 01:42:11 [UNKNOWN]: The Papa Knox thing is introduced for a reason it seems, so I don't think he is dead.
01:42:11 --> 01:42:15 [UNKNOWN]: A wonder what they are doing in the minds where all the thieves are sent for punishments.
01:42:15 --> 01:42:18 [UNKNOWN]: Big thief convention, L-O-L. Ha-ha-ha.
01:42:20 --> 01:42:20 [UNKNOWN]: That's true.
01:42:22 --> 01:42:39 [UNKNOWN]: I saw a post somewhere I don't remember what was but someone was like about Anthony getting sent to supply if he's kicked out of school and someone was like so you get kicked for kicked out of school for stealing and your sent to supply and they wonder what the problem is.
01:42:39 --> 01:42:40 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, this is true.
01:42:40 --> 01:42:41 [UNKNOWN]: This is true.
01:42:42 --> 01:42:44 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah and they may not have thought that all the way through.
01:42:47 --> 01:42:57 [UNKNOWN]: um Peter H says I really enjoyed the episode I think it sets the table nicely for the final four I am so am I to understand Ed Harwood is also a jailer?
01:42:57 --> 01:42:57 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
01:42:58 --> 01:43:03 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah basically yeah I love the billings and Hank side quest.
01:43:04 --> 01:43:08 [UNKNOWN]: I'm glad to see Shirley back to acting like a normal person however I fear for knocks
01:43:09 --> 01:43:10 [UNKNOWN]: I like people fearing for knocks right now.
01:43:11 --> 01:43:15 [UNKNOWN]: I'm just a lot of people fearing for knocks, and I wasn't where I am, but I don't.
01:43:17 --> 01:43:21 [UNKNOWN]: Well, we know he's supposed not supposed to be the one going outside now, so.
01:43:21 --> 01:43:25 [UNKNOWN]: He was thinking about the ad harwood thing.
01:43:26 --> 01:43:29 [UNKNOWN]: He enjoys being in charge.
01:43:29 --> 01:43:30 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, yeah.
01:43:30 --> 01:43:30 [UNKNOWN]: He's being the jailer.
01:43:31 --> 01:43:33 [UNKNOWN]: He has a power trip about it, I feel like.
01:43:33 --> 01:43:40 [UNKNOWN]: And just the way he said to, I hope you have a shovel because he's too, it's he died two years ago.
01:43:40 --> 01:43:47 [UNKNOWN]: Like that, if he were telling the truth about Knox's dad being dead, that's the most dickish way, it's possible to deliver that news.
01:43:47 --> 01:43:48 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:43:48 --> 01:43:50 [UNKNOWN]: Well, Ed Hardwood don't like people.
01:43:51 --> 01:43:53 [UNKNOWN]: The Aunt Lane Hardwood basically.
01:43:53 --> 01:43:54 [UNKNOWN]: I think you're right.
01:43:54 --> 01:43:55 [UNKNOWN]: And then you're right.
01:43:56 --> 01:43:59 [UNKNOWN]: Peter Rage says, I think the radio will be a key part of the remaining plot.
01:43:59 --> 01:44:06 [UNKNOWN]: In general, I thought they kept all the balls in the air and moving without dropping any, there are a lot of great character parings.
01:44:08 --> 01:44:11 [UNKNOWN]: Um, oh, how do you want to say this one?
01:44:12 --> 01:44:13 [UNKNOWN]: Nitshin to Pishtisant.
01:44:14 --> 01:44:15 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, that guy.
01:44:16 --> 01:44:21 [UNKNOWN]: NCHNPSNT says, I liked the episode.
01:44:21 --> 01:44:24 [UNKNOWN]: I don't mind the teleportation of characters.
01:44:24 --> 01:44:27 [UNKNOWN]: It kind of happens in all stories nearing the end.
01:44:27 --> 01:44:32 [UNKNOWN]: I am looking forward to where they take all three storylines, especially to see how they connect.
01:44:32 --> 01:44:35 [UNKNOWN]: The critical supply plot to the main story.
01:44:37 --> 01:44:37 [UNKNOWN]: That's.
01:44:38 --> 01:44:39 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, yeah.
01:44:39 --> 01:44:40 [UNKNOWN]: Are you great?
01:44:42 --> 01:44:46 [UNKNOWN]: All right, and the TCS says, I really enjoyed this episode.
01:44:46 --> 01:44:49 [UNKNOWN]: I especially enjoyed the Julia and Camille battle.
01:44:49 --> 01:44:54 [UNKNOWN]: I agree with Abby that it seems unusual that Camille wouldn't head straight for Walker's Place.
01:44:54 --> 01:44:57 [UNKNOWN]: I feel there would have been a well-known gathering location.
01:44:57 --> 01:44:59 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, so TCS is kind of saying the opposite.
01:45:01 --> 01:45:08 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, and saying that it would have been a well-known gathering place, and I think Camille's just disconnected from the down deep.
01:45:08 --> 01:45:14 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, and that just goes to show that she is, in fact, disconnected from the down deep.
01:45:14 --> 01:45:19 [UNKNOWN]: Because that's something every down deeper would know, but she's like, I don't know what those people do.
01:45:20 --> 01:45:21 [UNKNOWN]: They babies down there.
01:45:21 --> 01:45:24 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, let's not forget, Camille is still...
01:45:25 --> 01:45:27 [UNKNOWN]: point new to the position of head of IT.
01:45:27 --> 01:45:32 [UNKNOWN]: And she's had a hell of a lot of information, a hell of a lot of stress just dropped it on her.
01:45:33 --> 01:45:40 [UNKNOWN]: So she's not always going to make, you know, she's still sort of learning, she's still sort of learning the role, if you like.
01:45:40 --> 01:45:41 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:45:41 --> 01:45:45 [UNKNOWN]: And also, she never had the opportunity to shadow anybody.
01:45:46 --> 01:45:48 [UNKNOWN]: Like she literally just became the head of her.
01:45:48 --> 01:45:53 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, yes, she worked in IT, but there's a big difference between that and running IT.
01:45:53 --> 01:45:57 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, that's exactly, I mean, yeah, she's a managerial thing.
01:45:57 --> 01:46:00 [UNKNOWN]: She's no longer making coder, whatever she was doing before.
01:46:00 --> 01:46:03 [UNKNOWN]: She's, um, yeah, it's a managerial position.
01:46:03 --> 01:46:10 [UNKNOWN]: And when that comes with a lot of mind-breaking secrets, yeah, mind and heart-breaking.
01:46:10 --> 01:46:18 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, so the fact that she's not always like jumping to the proper conclusion, this shouldn't be surprising.
01:46:18 --> 01:46:18 [UNKNOWN]: Hmm.
01:46:20 --> 01:46:27 [UNKNOWN]: Um, and the TCS also says jetpacking really bothers me so little that I didn't even notice a realize at this episode and I'll say I was the same.
01:46:27 --> 01:46:34 [UNKNOWN]: I didn't really think about it, but I think it's it's something I see complained about a lot more on Reddit and I'm just like whatever.
01:46:34 --> 01:46:34 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:46:35 --> 01:46:35 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:46:37 --> 01:46:42 [UNKNOWN]: Spaceman 94 says, overall, I quite, and overall, I enjoy this episode quite a bit.
01:46:42 --> 01:46:46 [UNKNOWN]: Together with last week's episode, they kind of returned the spark for me.
01:46:46 --> 01:46:49 [UNKNOWN]: I was fairly down on the season before.
01:46:49 --> 01:46:52 [UNKNOWN]: The storylines are moving, folks are communicating, all pretty good.
01:46:53 --> 01:46:54 [UNKNOWN]: What do you think?
01:46:55 --> 01:46:57 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:46:57 --> 01:47:04 [UNKNOWN]: I wasn't down on the series before, but I do think episode six, sort of gave a little bit more momentum.
01:47:05 --> 01:47:08 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, like you said live your analogy with the roller coaster.
01:47:08 --> 01:47:09 [UNKNOWN]: I think he's a good one.
01:47:09 --> 01:47:12 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, it's been definitely picking up momentum as it goes on.
01:47:12 --> 01:47:14 [UNKNOWN]: And that is how this usually works.
01:47:14 --> 01:47:17 [UNKNOWN]: Like it had a really strong start as the books do.
01:47:17 --> 01:47:20 [UNKNOWN]: But then each season has been building.
01:47:20 --> 01:47:30 [UNKNOWN]: And like rebuilding, I think, also for audiences because audiences, there's a lot of moving parts and characters and audiences need to be reintroduced to all of that.
01:47:30 --> 01:47:31 [UNKNOWN]: And also,
01:47:32 --> 01:47:50 [UNKNOWN]: Um, yeah, given there's a lot of lore in the show, which is probably one reason why I like it so much, and so there has to be a lot of, um, not only explanations, but demonstrations of how things work, so that it makes sense, how they click together later in a way that makes you go, whoa, you know, yeah.
01:47:50 --> 01:47:50 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:47:52 --> 01:47:56 [UNKNOWN]: Um, spaceman says just the entire present day story line has been a slog for me.
01:47:56 --> 01:47:59 [UNKNOWN]: The character work is great, but I need some plot, okay.
01:48:00 --> 01:48:07 [UNKNOWN]: Um, and I say, like I've noticed just because I do the recaps, I think it's a lot less of each episode than people realize.
01:48:08 --> 01:48:10 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, yeah, I would say so.
01:48:11 --> 01:48:17 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, I wish there was more, and then there would be more time for moving, but they've been giving a lot of space to 18, yes, sorry.
01:48:18 --> 01:48:19 [UNKNOWN]: I do tell you a point about plot.
01:48:20 --> 01:48:25 [UNKNOWN]: All I will say is that episodes, if that's the case, I don't think episode 7 is going to disappoint you.
01:48:25 --> 01:48:26 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:48:27 --> 01:48:31 [UNKNOWN]: Spaceman says small quip, I don't think Camille is a good antagonist, just doesn't work for me.
01:48:32 --> 01:48:37 [UNKNOWN]: Like, and I said, I think she's more of a prisoner in a situation than an antagonist.
01:48:37 --> 01:48:42 [UNKNOWN]: I feel like the voice is more of the antagonist, and she's like the instrument in between being played.
01:48:42 --> 01:48:47 [UNKNOWN]: Oh no, I think she's, I disagree, but I think she's a good antagonist.
01:48:47 --> 01:48:48 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, okay.
01:48:49 --> 01:48:51 [UNKNOWN]: And why do you like about her as an antagonist?
01:48:51 --> 01:48:53 [UNKNOWN]: She's smart.
01:48:54 --> 01:48:58 [UNKNOWN]: She's capable, um, she is ruthless.
01:48:59 --> 01:49:02 [UNKNOWN]: She wouldn't have got, you know, if you hadn't been riddled, she wouldn't have gone here.
01:49:03 --> 01:49:24 [UNKNOWN]: I think the way that the show was inverted the dynamic in the Sims marriage, where it's very much, you know, in the first, particularly the first season, but arguably in the first two seasons, it was Camille that was the primary care giver, Tatham, Theney, and if you had a career, she was such.
01:49:25 --> 01:49:28 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, the gender roles were quite traditional.
01:49:28 --> 01:49:33 [UNKNOWN]: And I think the way it's played with that, this season, it's been quite cooler, actually.
01:49:34 --> 01:49:40 [UNKNOWN]: So what's in Robertson's, and I think it's seen Robertson's as Anthony's primary care game.
01:49:40 --> 01:49:49 [UNKNOWN]: There are also becoming much more with the threat of the getting drugs becoming much more paternal.
01:49:49 --> 01:49:51 [UNKNOWN]: I think it's quite interesting.
01:49:52 --> 01:49:53 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, no, that's a really good play.
01:49:53 --> 01:49:54 [UNKNOWN]: It's been a good play.
01:49:55 --> 01:49:57 [UNKNOWN]: Um, and placement concludes also.
01:49:57 --> 01:50:02 [UNKNOWN]: I read the books a few years ago, but I still got no idea what's going on, which is pretty great smiley face.
01:50:04 --> 01:50:04 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:50:04 --> 01:50:05 [UNKNOWN]: No, I agree.
01:50:05 --> 01:50:18 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, I've read the books quite recently and reread bits of them each week, but it's still, I like that the show keeps me on my toes and keeps me invested.
01:50:18 --> 01:50:29 [UNKNOWN]: I'm invested in both seeing the things I know we're coming playing out, like I'm very excited about that, but I'm also having a great time with these new side plots that are added that
01:50:30 --> 01:50:36 [UNKNOWN]: I can see how some of them hook in and some of them, I'm like, I know this much really must relate to the larger things.
01:50:36 --> 01:50:37 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, but where is this going?
01:50:38 --> 01:50:39 [UNKNOWN]: What do you?
01:50:39 --> 01:50:40 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, exactly.
01:50:41 --> 01:50:51 [UNKNOWN]: So I know it's going to be the back half of the season, it's just going to be like all these points connecting together, too, until it's all revealed in the finale.
01:50:52 --> 01:50:55 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, not all revealed, obviously, because there's another season left, but yeah.
01:50:55 --> 01:50:57 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, a lot.
01:50:57 --> 01:50:58 [UNKNOWN]: I think I can't wait.
01:50:59 --> 01:51:03 [UNKNOWN]: I haven't even seen the finale, but I still can't wait for people to react to it.
01:51:03 --> 01:51:06 [UNKNOWN]: I have a good feeling about what it's going to be about.
01:51:07 --> 01:51:12 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, and motor rider's D says, I really like this episode.
01:51:12 --> 01:51:13 [UNKNOWN]: I'll be re-watching it soon.
01:51:13 --> 01:51:19 [UNKNOWN]: I understand the criticism of everyone getting everywhere really fast, but I'll give that a pass for getting more storylines moving along.
01:51:19 --> 01:51:21 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, yeah, I do think that's a really good point.
01:51:21 --> 01:51:28 [UNKNOWN]: You can complain about the jetpacking or you can complain about the plot moving, so I would even be, you can't do both.
01:51:28 --> 01:51:29 [UNKNOWN]: Mm, okay, fair.
01:51:29 --> 01:51:30 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:51:30 --> 01:51:31 [UNKNOWN]: Well.
01:51:31 --> 01:51:43 [UNKNOWN]: I loved that the voice was not answering quickly when curveballs were thrown on and it interesting that it doesn't seem to know about silo 17 and or he heard anything discussed by solo and Juliette.
01:51:43 --> 01:51:50 [UNKNOWN]: So yeah, I think that they just, it just doesn't, I mean, there's no operating cameras in 17 anymore is what I take.
01:51:50 --> 01:51:51 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, for it.
01:51:51 --> 01:51:51 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:51:53 --> 01:51:56 [UNKNOWN]: But is it wired into the other?
01:51:58 --> 01:52:05 [UNKNOWN]: the other silos, like the other silos in which there are still people.
01:52:05 --> 01:52:06 [UNKNOWN]: In what way do you mean?
01:52:06 --> 01:52:07 [UNKNOWN]: Well, what I mean?
01:52:07 --> 01:52:08 [UNKNOWN]: Can they communicate between them?
01:52:09 --> 01:52:12 [UNKNOWN]: Can the algorithms in the different silos communicate with each other?
01:52:12 --> 01:52:13 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, I see.
01:52:13 --> 01:52:19 [UNKNOWN]: Or is there like one version of the algorithm that is looking in on all of the still functioning silos?
01:52:19 --> 01:52:20 [UNKNOWN]: Or are there an algorithm?
01:52:21 --> 01:52:25 [UNKNOWN]: Is there a separate AI in each silo and if so, can they talk to each other?
01:52:25 --> 01:52:30 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, well, I'll just say what we know so far is that it all seems to be controlled from silent ones.
01:52:30 --> 01:52:32 [UNKNOWN]: So do you think, what do you think?
01:52:34 --> 01:52:41 [UNKNOWN]: Ah, I come back and listen to the episodes I've been breakdown because I have thoughts but...
01:52:41 --> 01:52:41 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, okay.
01:52:43 --> 01:52:45 [UNKNOWN]: Alright, so the question is out there though.
01:52:47 --> 01:52:54 [UNKNOWN]: And then yeah, but I just say it is a bit of a difference in the cello 17 side in that and not not really a difference.
01:52:54 --> 01:53:03 [UNKNOWN]: But because we know we got that flashback to Jimmy growing up in cello 17 and shift.
01:53:03 --> 01:53:05 [UNKNOWN]: You see that he did for a while.
01:53:05 --> 01:53:06 [UNKNOWN]: He was able to
01:53:09 --> 01:53:14 [UNKNOWN]: in the book where you can monitor people is connected to the vault.
01:53:14 --> 01:53:24 [UNKNOWN]: So he could, he would like look around the silo while cameras still lasted and just see, check in on what was going on and listen in and things like that.
01:53:24 --> 01:53:31 [UNKNOWN]: But then eventually that all went out by the time, you know, it just broke down and there was nobody fixing it or tending it or whatever.
01:53:33 --> 01:53:36 [UNKNOWN]: So, by the time of Julia showing up, it was all gone anyway.
01:53:36 --> 01:53:40 [UNKNOWN]: But we didn't see really any flashbacks to young Jimmy's.
01:53:40 --> 01:53:42 [UNKNOWN]: So, no, yeah, maybe not.
01:53:42 --> 01:53:49 [UNKNOWN]: Well, in the in the the 14 odd episodes, we've got remaining over this season and next.
01:53:49 --> 01:53:59 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, we still didn't find out something with his eye that it looked like an injury or something, so we still have to find out the story behind that, which is probably a flashback of some sort, so we'll see.
01:53:59 --> 01:54:04 [UNKNOWN]: But yeah, but yeah, in regards to this, I would say they assume the silo was dead.
01:54:04 --> 01:54:14 [UNKNOWN]: They didn't know anyone was still left living there because there shouldn't be anyone still left living there and the cameras are all out, so they can't verify, but they just were like,
01:54:15 --> 01:54:40 [UNKNOWN]: looks dead to me moving on you know moving on yeah not a threat yeah the question was did we know Shirley was pregnant it makes sense looking back but I forgot if we got the official notice and no this was news this episode we just saw her like looking and then so we were all like why are they focusing on this scar or whatever mark on her hip and there was the theory that it was birth the birth control location which
01:54:42 --> 01:55:01 [UNKNOWN]: Um, but then I realized that that same point Knox came up behind her and like put his arms around her and he put his hands on her belly But I didn't I'm terrible at clocking when characters are pregnant apparently because there's another show I missed it on this another show that's running right now that I missed it on as well until it was made more explicit
01:55:02 --> 01:55:04 [UNKNOWN]: But I guess that was the hint.
01:55:04 --> 01:55:06 [UNKNOWN]: And this was the first time we got it confirmed.
01:55:06 --> 01:55:19 [UNKNOWN]: You know, yeah, he said I thought it was funny that they haven't covered the branding for things in the before times, except for the mini van, which is a Toyota, but has a random dragon looking logo and the steering wheel and hood instead.
01:55:19 --> 01:55:25 [UNKNOWN]: Like they are not going to advertise for Toyota unless they are paid to do so.
01:55:25 --> 01:55:29 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, last Toyota would be paying Toyota and getting free advertising.
01:55:31 --> 01:55:35 [UNKNOWN]: except through people who recognize cars and tell us.
01:55:37 --> 01:55:44 [UNKNOWN]: Senator Thurman asking you to do you want to save the world and here we were wondering if she was maybe forgetting things.
01:55:44 --> 01:55:48 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, what do your thoughts about Senator Thurman after?
01:55:48 --> 01:55:49 [UNKNOWN]: I guess we can't.
01:55:50 --> 01:55:52 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, now let's let's stay clear of that.
01:55:52 --> 01:55:53 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, all right.
01:55:55 --> 01:56:18 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I think I was thinking, and I was saying this in the spoiler cast that I think that Senator Thurman, the whole forgetting Charlottes thing, I think it was more of a case of her just verifying that identity as because she knew the mission she was attached to and I suspect she knew something was different about it.
01:56:21 --> 01:56:27 [UNKNOWN]: I even wondered if like Charlotte was chosen as a test subject because of this or something like that.
01:56:27 --> 01:56:27 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, maybe.
01:56:27 --> 01:56:28 [UNKNOWN]: We'll see.
01:56:29 --> 01:56:33 [UNKNOWN]: I've got thoughts on something with them and but they're very much episode 7 though, so I'm gonna show that.
01:56:34 --> 01:56:35 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
01:56:35 --> 01:56:37 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I just, yeah, I wonder.
01:56:37 --> 01:56:40 [UNKNOWN]: I don't think she was really forgetting things.
01:56:40 --> 01:56:42 [UNKNOWN]: We were by asking for Charlotte's name.
01:56:42 --> 01:56:45 [UNKNOWN]: I think it was just a point out that she was singling Charlotte out in some way.
01:56:47 --> 01:57:05 [UNKNOWN]: Marine D says, I think it's sweet that the simple pez dispenser is a meaningful object to Helen, especially because it's not innately a value, but it was fun and amusing to think of people the future imbueing it with meaning when it may have just been a random object dropped by a child that somehow survived.
01:57:05 --> 01:57:15 [UNKNOWN]: I think when you get in the mystery of the pez and there's a whole couple of pages where it's describing like the physical properties of the pez dispenser, that is really funny.
01:57:16 --> 01:57:16 [UNKNOWN]: possible weapon.
01:57:17 --> 01:57:19 [UNKNOWN]: I think it says at one point in the right time.
01:57:19 --> 01:57:22 [UNKNOWN]: So some sort of creature real or imaginary.
01:57:22 --> 01:57:24 [UNKNOWN]: I felt it back.
01:57:24 --> 01:57:27 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:57:28 --> 01:57:29 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, no, that is funny.
01:57:30 --> 01:57:32 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I definitely recommend the short story.
01:57:32 --> 01:57:32 [UNKNOWN]: It's free.
01:57:33 --> 01:57:35 [UNKNOWN]: You can find it online if you haven't ready yet.
01:57:36 --> 01:57:39 [UNKNOWN]: About Bernard's good luck charm, I thought it might be a Riggley's gum wrapper.
01:57:39 --> 01:57:44 [UNKNOWN]: It used to be a thing to fold them up into bracelets, but yeah, way back when, and I remember that.
01:57:45 --> 01:57:46 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, that is a very good call.
01:57:46 --> 01:57:49 [UNKNOWN]: It does look exactly like a Riggley's gum wrapper, yeah.
01:57:49 --> 01:57:53 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, and I suppose like there's nothing with that sort of metallic paper.
01:57:54 --> 01:57:56 [UNKNOWN]: No, no, not really.
01:57:56 --> 01:58:02 [UNKNOWN]: I would imagine that the thing about it and I suppose that would be long gone after 350 five years would be the smell.
01:58:02 --> 01:58:04 [UNKNOWN]: It would smell like peppermints.
01:58:04 --> 01:58:05 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I don't know.
01:58:05 --> 01:58:06 [UNKNOWN]: We don't know if they have that.
01:58:07 --> 01:58:07 [UNKNOWN]: Maybe they do.
01:58:10 --> 01:58:16 [UNKNOWN]: And so Marine said I like the title of the episode the drive being both about the disc and the car ride.
01:58:16 --> 01:58:17 [UNKNOWN]: That's really good point Marine.
01:58:18 --> 01:58:18 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:58:19 --> 01:58:26 [UNKNOWN]: And I hope we see Colin Hanks and Steve Zahn in the next episode, not only for plot points, but for some fresh air.
01:58:27 --> 01:58:29 [UNKNOWN]: Tiny spoiler, we get to see one but not the other.
01:58:30 --> 01:58:30 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:58:31 --> 01:58:34 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I think that's fair to say that's a fair tease.
01:58:34 --> 01:58:34 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:58:35 --> 01:58:43 [UNKNOWN]: And we will be back on Friday to discuss all of this with our coverage of episode seven, which we are both clearly chomping at the bit to discuss.
01:58:43 --> 01:58:44 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, absolutely.
01:58:45 --> 01:58:49 [UNKNOWN]: And then we'll do our final mailbag after the season concludes.
01:58:49 --> 01:58:52 [UNKNOWN]: So please do we want to hear your thoughts and theories.
01:58:52 --> 01:58:55 [UNKNOWN]: Send them to wolveship dustpodcast at gmail.com.
01:58:55 --> 01:58:56 [UNKNOWN]: You'll find that.
01:58:56 --> 01:59:10 [UNKNOWN]: linked in the show notes as usual, we might, you know, throw in some feedback in the episode especially if it's emailed as we've done before, or otherwise, yeah, it'll be in the wrap-up at this season finale.
01:59:11 --> 01:59:14 [UNKNOWN]: Please do jump into the discord discussion.
01:59:14 --> 01:59:19 [UNKNOWN]: You'll find that linked in the show notes as well, where we're having lively discussions with spoiler chats per episode.
01:59:19 --> 01:59:22 [UNKNOWN]: So whatever episode you're on, don't worry about getting spoiled.
01:59:22 --> 01:59:24 [UNKNOWN]: There is a separate book.
01:59:24 --> 01:59:48 [UNKNOWN]: spoiler chats for all of the book discussions that one is you might want to be caught up before jumping into that chat um but we do also have the book club that is a supercast in patreon feeds where you will get my and Abby's full book spoiler conversations plus ad free access to this and all other episodes um including separate breakdowns of the trailers and all
01:59:55 --> 01:59:57 [UNKNOWN]: non-silo stuff that's in there as well.
01:59:57 --> 02:00:00 [UNKNOWN]: This week's topic is field trips.
02:00:00 --> 02:00:06 [UNKNOWN]: I will shout out thank you to the new silasans who join by the end of the next episode.
02:00:06 --> 02:00:09 [UNKNOWN]: But there's a new option if you don't want to do monthly.
02:00:09 --> 02:00:11 [UNKNOWN]: There are season passes.
02:00:11 --> 02:00:18 [UNKNOWN]: I've now added that option for Patreon as well where you just get access to the episodes for a season or seasons of your choice for one time
02:00:20 --> 02:00:24 [UNKNOWN]: and just a huge thank you to everyone who's done that.
02:00:24 --> 02:00:25 [UNKNOWN]: It means a lot to me.
02:00:25 --> 02:00:34 [UNKNOWN]: I put in enormous amount of time in this and it's gotten tough to be a writer these days.
02:00:34 --> 02:00:36 [UNKNOWN]: So I really appreciate your help.
02:00:36 --> 02:00:45 [UNKNOWN]: I really appreciate the energy and enthusiasm that the community brings to just making this such a fun show to all experience together.
02:00:47 --> 02:00:53 [UNKNOWN]: Um, minor warning for Apple users with Patreon that seems to be the combination that you don't like to play nice together.
02:00:53 --> 02:00:54 [UNKNOWN]: No, they don't.
02:00:55 --> 02:00:57 [UNKNOWN]: That seems to be the most expensive options.
02:00:57 --> 02:01:02 [UNKNOWN]: So just to FYI, if you are an Apple user, you might want to consider something else.
02:01:04 --> 02:01:10 [UNKNOWN]: Um, yeah, supercast, I think is maybe better or just going through the web rather than that, the Apple app.
02:01:10 --> 02:01:10 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:01:11 --> 02:01:18 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I've had that issue with other podcasts I subscribe to, like Patreon and I. Yeah, it went up recently too.
02:01:18 --> 02:01:23 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, they seem to be like oil and water, Patreon and Apple.
02:01:23 --> 02:01:25 [UNKNOWN]: Don't really know what's going on there.
02:01:25 --> 02:01:34 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, it's about like they're frustrated with each other and users are getting punished because they're like about who gets fees and rights and stuff.
02:01:34 --> 02:01:35 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, okay.
02:01:35 --> 02:01:36 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, yeah.
02:01:38 --> 02:01:46 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, so just because Apple's like, well, it's, uh, if you want to have our vast number of Apple subscribers, this is how you have to do it.
02:01:46 --> 02:01:50 [UNKNOWN]: It runs like we have a website.
02:01:50 --> 02:01:53 [UNKNOWN]: We have a website anyway.
02:01:55 --> 02:02:01 [UNKNOWN]: Um, so Luke, any final thoughts where can people hear from you if they want to?
02:02:01 --> 02:02:13 [UNKNOWN]: I do another podcast called it could be said with two friends from uni, we're cooling and so I'm an only, uh, we podcast about once a month, um,
02:02:14 --> 02:02:25 [UNKNOWN]: Last episode was looking at the UK's new Prime Minister, Andy Burnham, his policies, challenges, what we think he's going to do.
02:02:25 --> 02:02:33 [UNKNOWN]: I'm going to think, yeah, we will probably be recording the next episode in about a week or so.
02:02:33 --> 02:02:38 [UNKNOWN]: So you can find us on Apple or wherever you get your podcasts.
02:02:39 --> 02:02:40 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
02:02:40 --> 02:02:40 [UNKNOWN]: Cool.
02:02:42 --> 02:02:46 [UNKNOWN]: And you can also find me on the Lower Hounds.
02:02:46 --> 02:02:49 [UNKNOWN]: You'll find that linked in the show notes, the lowerhounds.com.
02:02:49 --> 02:03:02 [UNKNOWN]: You'll find all of the affiliates, including my own The Star Wars Canon Timeline Podcast, the brand new Cosmere Corner, never mind the music, music, meat, psychology, and the lowerhounds of the...
02:03:02 --> 02:03:27 [UNKNOWN]: big pop of feed where there is weekly house of the dragon coverage going on plus there is recently a supergirl episode there's a spider-man brand new day episode coming out a lot of other stuff and into the west tribute to Sam Neal um so yeah quite busy on that feed always you'll find that in the show notes and um you'll find us on Friday by
